Three years, wow!

I'm back at the beginning plus some but this year I plan on getting it done and then (gulp) maintaining it.

Have reached a major goal. Have gone from a size 20-22 when I started this journey back In November of 2008 to a size 12. Still want to get to single digit. Know it will be hard, but adding new exercises and exciting food to plan every day. I will do this.

I've been doing Meetups--specifically, Meetups where everyone walks as a group. They are a lot of fun, and it's so much better to walk while talking to very nice, interesting people. Try doing this--look on line for Meetups in your area. We usually have 10-20 people in a group and it costs $1 to help pay for the website.

Hi everyone! My goal for this year is to take it one day at a time to become healthier and exercise more. So far, I've joined a Water Exercise class at the community college, joined the fitness center and pool (swimming at least 3x per week) and working out with a trainer.

Joined the Red Wild Winter BL 2009 team to help me get in that Red Dress!!!

My goal is to get rid of these 15 pounds that have found me again over a year and a half. I was so good at losing the weight, but maintenance obviously has elluded me. Or should I say I've elluded maintenance. I know what I need to do, but I've not been doing it. And I've been kidding myself that I'm active enough to eat what I want. OK. Got to get out of denial and back to Sparking. So I re-entered my information and my weight ticker will have to move again.

Here's to not giving up and just doing it (again)!

I did get the jacket!! ROFL! And I didn't wait till I finished the race either...it got so cold here so I decided that just running in this kind of weather deserved a reward and the jacket was warmer than what I already had so a win/win. Glad I did. Now I need a new goal and I have to plan a reward since I respond so much better to the prospect of a prize!

Get the jacket! You deserve it, DDHeart.

Cornpicker, everything falls into place eventually, but tell us about your BABY! That's a cute picture on your page of your two sons.

I celebrated my third Sparkversary by walking about 7 miles, I think. Then I stopped at Starbucks for lunch and had a veggie/cheese sandwich and a skinny latte. That's not so bad, is it?

Training for the 15K is going well, in fact had a great run today though my last long run was horrible...LOL the way of life isn't it? I believe I have a really good chance to set a new PR and decided today that if/when I do, I will reward myself with a jacket that my husband was encouraging me to get but I felt was just too much$....think it will be a perfect reward!

Great to hear from you all!

DDHeart, how is your 15K training going? And cooking school sounds really fun! Any new tips to share?

Catherine, that is great you are keeping up with the running.

DeeeBee, sounds like you are doing great, too.

Teacaviness, how about you? Great goals.

I can't believe it is almost Feb. I'm going back to work in 2 weeks and am wondering how to juggle it all. I've been able to do some yoga or walking here and there but nothing regular yet. I am trying to figure out how to balance it all. I know I need to get back into fitness and food logging, and just a better life balance.

Good luck!

Ah yes! Hanging in there...best way to do that I think is to set some new goals in areas like fitness, something to drive toward and to see progress keeps the interest going.

Great success! I think though we all would like for the scale to reflect our success it is a much more important measure when our clothes need to be taken in or and when our fitness and health show how much we have done! Keep up the great work!

Three years--amazing! I have not lost much weight, but I have lost some inches. I know I had to take some pants in, and I was pretty happy about that. I feel strong and healthy and I have a lot of energy. My doctor, after I took a stress test, exclaimed, "You're HOW old?" (67) Spark keeps me motivated so I exercise almost every day now. Thanks to all of you! For 2012, I hope everything continues just as it has been! Happy New Year!

Great to see that you're still running after your distance goals...I remember reading one of your first marathon race reports...doesn't seem that long ago and look at how much more you have accomplished! Wonderful!

Hello, everyone. I'm still around and active on Sparkpeople as the co-leader of the "Jeff Galloway Training for Any Length Race team." I have been maintaining my weight for about 2.5 years, and like DDHEART, my focus has been on fitness and running. I particularly enjoy the longer endurance distances and have run 5 marathons so far, and have signed up for 6 more this year. I'm not fast -- I do it for fun.

It is amazing how time keeps marching on! When I look back I can say I am pretty satisfied wiht my maintenance...I am 3 pounds up this Jan over last year (of course during the year is was down and up! LOL) I would like to lose a bit more wt. but if I don't I am happy to stay the same. My goals are fitness related. I am planning on running a 15K in Feb...ran this race last year and I want to try to finish with a faster time. ran the same distance in Nov but slower than the Feb race...reason, plain and simple I had not trained adequately and I knew it...so my focus right now is on training and becoming a stronger, faster runner. My Chol was lower at my last lab draw and I know that is due to lifestyle so I'm in a good place. Oh, gave myself an online cooking school membership and I am working on my cooking skills....it can't all be about health and fitness! Or...is this mental fitness? LOL Happy New Year!

Hello, team! Can you believe we signed up for SP nearly 3 years ago?

Let us know how you are, and where you're at, and where you're hoping to be as the year develops.

Best wishes!
