Down a bit more, which is nice. Especially since I still haven't worked on my physical activity. At least my eating is better.

I am so glad to see you back, Vee! I hope you were away for happy reasons, and that you will slip easily back into the healthy SP way of life! The SP emails reminded me everyday I was away that there was hope and support available. We will continue to be there for each other. We just need to move more and eat much less -- carrots, like your cat!!

That's my girl, Pedipod! Keep working it!
I was down somewhere around 1/2 a pound this week. Got to take care of this winter weight that snuck back on to keep me warmer...a problem here in Minneso-cold.

I am very grateful and happy to say I am down again -- walking much more and eating much less. 2.5 lb a week may be too much to expect. I am trying to feel very happy about losing one per week, rather than bouncing. I feel BETTER!

Way to go, LILDANCY, CORNPICKER and VMASSEY!!!

I haven't logged in since December and I'm sure my numbers would not have been good just after the holidays but I'm happy to say I'm down .4 of a pound since my last log in...the scale surprised me...I like surprises. :o)

4 lbs. since Christmas and counting emoticon

You can tell yourself that you have already decided, that nothing now can stop you, but if that step backwards is so much safer than step forwards, what will hold you true to your path when the going gets tough? I am down to 146.2lbs. I was surprised to dip to 145.6 after new years cause I worked. I've been working on this slowly since October, 2010. I'm down from 160 lbs. I'm going to be a little more assertive this year. I've been doing 1 hour of zumba a week. This week I shoot for 2 hours a week with some strength training at home.

I'm up a bit this week - .6 of a pound. I had a couple of meals on two separate days that were much larger than I normally eat in one sitting. I didn't drink any water on Saturday!!! I've got to nip this in the bud now...

I hope everyone is doing well.

I am thankful for my new scale which weighs pounds in points as this week I lost .4 of a pound. Woohoo!

It might have been more if I was eating properly...but according to my nutrition tracker I haven't been eating enough protein, fats and sometimes calories. I'm going to work on improving this in the week ahead.

I'm so glad I didn't wait until January to recommit...I'm down 2.4 pounds. Woohoo! Thank you Rachel for your Thanksgiving wishes and kind words, you helped motivate me into recommiting again. emoticon you rock!

My first week back I just concentrated on recording my meals. Which of course, made me think about what I was eating and if I really needed that snack from the checkout while I was out shopping. It also helped me to choose healthier snack choices at home. And water...I'm back to drinking the recommended amount of water. I didn't really start adding exercise to the mix until Saturday (5 days into my first week back). Of course, two major shopping days of mega walking may of helped. emoticon

I noticed it's kind of quiet around here these days...I hope everyone is doing well. emoticon Diane

Rachel -- with what you have been through, I think it is GREAT that you have not gained more -- honestly, it will be wonderful to get off the excess, but give yourself some credit for heading back in the right direction.
My scale is the same as the last check-in, but I had bounced up on the way too good food on the schooner trip. So now I am back on track -- I would like to say a nice reward in a drop, but it is REALLY disgusting to have so far to get to where I was last fall. I know, one day at a .......

Ohhh, that garlic naan is too good...

How's the scale treating you? Last time I weighed in at home about 2 weeks ago, I was 147.4. I weight myself naked and first thing in the morning before breakfast.

But I did a weight in for my contest group at work today-- clothed (ha ha!) and post-breakfast and came in at 149.4. I will have to weigh myself in the morning at home to see how close the scales are.

Either way, I am practically starting over! Well, that is how it goes sometimes!

Big bright beautiful day. The thermometer in the sun says 144.8 F!!!I worked out hard in the morning today and have a weight loss to prove it.

So, weekly weigh-in (still extreme obese) is 272.1.
Still relosing from the winter, but at least I am not gaining. I am happy about the loss, but not at all happy about where I am. It's HARD!!

Garlic Naan at the Indian restaurant last night....

Pedipod, my husband Tad & I went out to buy a new frige yesteday. Unfortunately, it won't be here until thursday (today is Tuesday here in tokyo.)
I have been putting up with a lot of warm vegetables & milk. I'm doing ok with them. I was thinking of you yesterday as I was doing my daily housework. In Tokyo, we are 14 hours ahead of Detroit time, my hometown. I don't know where that puts you at. I hope you're having a good day, however!

I have managed to lose another pound. Very pleased! But now my refrigerator is broken! It is 90 degrees & 80% humidity here. I'm ready to panic!! I don't know if this is a good thing or bad; Ican't eat any fresh food! CANDYHEART and Annette --- so glad you are back!!! The important thing is that you stayed connected. It is a life-long struggle as it turns out, so we shouldn't feel too self- beating for not being at our goals. We have to keep plagging and everyday that we don't gain is a micro-VICTORY!! If we add a few minutes of work-out or walking a day and take away a few calories, we'll get there -- hopefully even in our lifetime!

275.2 lb
I actually wrote 175.2 since the additional pounds feels so bizarre to me, and if I had stayed on my SP red goal line, I would be at my ideal weight right now!!!
So, instead, it is back to slow and steady. Down 4 lb this week and able to keep up a little with Gilad on FitTV, my favorite. Sigh....

I weighed in this morning and am now at 310.4 which is exactly what I needed to lose to say I am down 10%!!
I have lost 34.6 lbs so far!
My next goal is to get out of the 300's by our family campout on August 12th. That is 3 weeks away and I am confident that I can reach it. Thanks for your support!

It is wonderful remembering what my body can do -- little by little starting to get back .

279.2 is bizarrely overweight, but it is so much better than 280. I remember passing it last time on SP and being able to imagine when it will be 179!! I will do it. It will happen. Here I go!

Way to go, team! Keep working the system! The water is great for so many reasons.

To make tracking food easier, it might help to get a postal scale and weigh your food on your plate rather than have to use measuring cups. I initially measured my food, then I weighed it and wrote on an index card how much something weighs, like a Tbl of butter, for instance. A lot of things are listed on the labels by weight, such as 2 Tbl of peanut butter weighing 32 grams. It really sped things up for me, so it wasn't so cumbersome.

Also, make sure you get your weight training in, not just cardio. It may slow down the scale, but it will speed up the shrinking tape measure...and I think THAT'S the better indicator anyway.

Just some thoughts.

I finally got back on track after about 5 months of wasted time. I am down 5 lbs this week and now my grand total is 32.4 down. I am 3.6 lbs away from my 10% which I am GOING TO SMASH this week!
Congratulations to everyone else that is seeing success and working hard. This is something that is worth it!

teanut any little changes you can make will help you along your way. recording your water is great! I have changed my way of thinking---I am focusing on this weightloss as being a lifestyle change. I no longer use my scale to determine whether or not I'll be happy for that particular day. It's only a tool for me now. emoticon keep me posted on how you're doing! It's great to hear from you!!! emoticon

Way to go Annette! Since a week and a half ago, I'm down one pound. I'm going to have to make my weight loss a priority again as I really really want to reach my goal by the fourth week of September. I'm still having a problem in being able to record my meals so I'm just going to record my water and fruits/vegetables. I think even just doing that will make a big difference and keep me aware of what I'm putting into my system.

Me too! I keep trying to start up here again and then life gets busy. At least I'm still down 11 pounds from when I first joined. I don't like that I gained some back...but I'm going to lose it again plus the rest of it!

The food tracker has been a pain because quite often the button to add a food choice isn't in the little box on my screen. If the advertisement wasn't there at the top I think that button might have room and show up but I don't know for sure. Oh well, I'll do the best I can.

We can do it cornpicker!

Way to go, Manxiface! Isn't it great to see results?

How's everyone else? Any luck yet, Amy?

Hmmm, I have not even weighed myself since 3/12/10. I am scared to! I know it won't be pretty-- I have not been working out or eating well. I really need to get back to basics, too! I commit to weighing myself this week to start holding myself accountable.

Hang in there, team! Let's go!

169.5- yeee haa! Ok so I'm pretty pumped to see results after more then 2 weeks of pushing myself and busting my butt at the gym as well as watching every single ounce of food I've eaten.

Wehn I need help, I start looking at everyone's sparkpages and see all their results before/after pics and start talking to people. It's a great community and it really does help.

OK, I admitted my slippage on the weekly/daily post, so now I need to get real here. Up 5 pounds from my maintenance weight...and 1" around the waist and hips. Back to Spark basics! I think it's harder for me to pick the habits back up than it was to start from scratch. It may be because I'm thinking, "It's just a measly 5 pounds. This should be easy!" It's like I didn't learn any lessons last year. Will someone kick me in the butt or talk some sense into me?

no loss here either...seems like I'm hungry all the time. I started taking a product called 'Greens Plus'...it's chalk full of natural vitamins and stuff. I'm starting to think it is also increasing my appetite...hmmmmm...

I'm doing ok with my cardio but need get back on track with my strength training!

Hey, everyone great to see your updates!

My weigh in this week was about .4 down from the previous week. Not bad considering I'm not doing too much. I will post more on the 'daily check in' board. :)

Keep up the great work! Keep your chin up!

Not so well today. I weighed 230.4 this morning this snow is killing me. Last week was a stressful week. I do better when I work and have a schedule to follow rather that sitting here at the house and just watch it snow. No work today, it is snowing again and we are out of school again. Valentines was ok. I made a fruit cobbler and I did have a piece of it.

I am originally from Detroit, Mi. I know ALL about the snow & cold weather! We had 3" here in Tokyo the other day, & it was very amusing to watch people panic! The cold weather is back here, however, & the highest it has been is around 40. Here in Japan, there is no central heating in houses, so when it's 40 outside, it's also 40 in one's house! I miss my warm house in Detroit! emoticon I lost those 5 lbs I gained over my mother in law's funeral! I'm back to 158! Yeah for me!! Now, onward I go! Progress! emoticon

Thanks, CoffeeCake!

I miss being able to walk outside. I thought I would have shed my holidays weight by now -- it is sobering to realize how very hard that is!!

We have snow here and I am not doing very well staying home. I have too much time on my hands and all I want to do is eat. I have a schedule I usually follow and being out of school gets me off of it. I'm getting out in a little while and see if that don't help. It will get as high as 33 here today. YAKIIMO enjoy that 60 degree weather and think about us here in the states who are having a lot of snow.

You can tell yourself that you have already decided, that nothing now can stop you, but if that step backwards is so much safer than step forwards, what will hold you true to your path when the going gets tough? Sometimes, the right thing to do is to take that first irreversible step, the one after which you cannot go back. And now, for you, is one of those times.

YAKIIMO, I am hanging in there. I know about those funerals. When my brother-in-law died I gained about 5 lbs. in one weekend. Stress is one of my major hurtles. I am doing better than I was. I weighed today and I weighed 227 today. I am pressing onward and downward emoticon Vickie

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've posted on here. My weight has went up a little from the previous weeks. I was 143 on my weigh-in day(Fri.). I'm setting a goal for 10 lbs. down by March 12th.

Glad to see you on here again, Ped!!!! Don't work too hard at work tomorrow! You're doing great working out! I walked 5 miles yesterday. Snow was expected in my neck of the woods this weekend, but it just rained mostly. There is a chance of another snow storm this week, though.

Went up north last week with the family. While they all skied, I did brisk walk in the snow. Boy! What a workout I got! Felt great! Doesn't a good workout feel good?! I went swimming today & I still feel good. emoticon

Gilad on FitTV kicked my butt today!! Wooo....
It feels great to work out again hard, but tomorrow is a 12 hr day with work, meetings, and I won't be able to do it then. I'll struggle to keep the calories down,

Hope you are all plugging along and that not too many of you are snowed in by that blizzard!

vickie & cornpicker, thank you so much! I'm greatly encouraged today. I'm still holding my own at 158. It's hard to be living here in "the land of the little people" sometimes. Have a great weekend! emoticon

Way to go, Vickie! Keep it up!
Amy, that is great you got back on track quickly. The holidays are hard!
Yakimo-- hang in there. I know I definitely have ups and downs. But so many people can do it and have done it, and so can we. Hugs and keep us posted.

YAKIIMO,
There was a blog that was sent to me about HOPE. I don't know if you got it but see if you can find it and read it.
