Undoing bad habits happens a little at a time everyday! Look for the little things that you do that show you are changing your habits. Like when I learned to put just a little bit of butter on my knife when buttering toast or english muffins. The butter goes further and you use less!
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference!
Welcome, one other thing I would suggest, is pick 1 bad habit and focus on it first, do not try to break too many bad habits at a time, you will become frustrated and overwhelmed. Also follow the sparks steps to help you get started. Good luck, we are here to help.

I agree to how great Leslie's walking DVD's are. That is how I started. The first time I rode my bike I was so out of breath I thought I'd never get home. I just did a little each day until I built up to riding longer. My temptations are eating sweets. I could eat them all day. If I start then I don't stop. It is hard to undo a life time of bad habits. But you know that you are worth making the effort to change. You are too young not to try to get healthier. You can do this. It is hard, but you are worth the effort!

I will look into that thank you so much I have a dvd player.I go to the local gym here as much as I can but because of my weight gain over the years my back suffers a lot and my feet.But I know I will lose this weight again and keep It off.
It is really hard, you are right. If you like to walk but are afraid of the dogs, do you have a DVD player? The Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos are not too hard but can have up to 5 miles of walking on them depending on which one you get. You can walk right in front of the television with not much room at all. You can do one mile or all of them, she lets you know at the end of each mile. If you can't afford one, you might check at the local library to check one out. It takes a little creativity but you can find something, the trick is convincing yourself that you are worth the effort and just doing it. Sometimes that's the hardest step. I'll be praying for you!!!
You do it one day at a time, one baby step at a time and sometimes you'll fall back 1 or 2 or 10 steps, then just pick yourself back up and start again. I didn't grow up eating right or exercising but you have it in you to learn starting now and to make your life better regardless of your past. I have learned a lot in the past year on spark but I have a lot more to learn. It's a slow process but I know you can do it!!
I sit and wonder how can i undo my bad habits coming up from a child to now. when i wasn't taught how to do things the right way. they say it takes 21 days to for a habit, i've been on God's earth for 32 1/2 years WOW!!!That's a long time for a bad habit to have been formed.
