Welcome Christina!

Change one thing at a time until it becomes habit then move onto the next. Don't try to take on too much all at once or it can become overwhelming.
Check out our weekly challenges to stay motivated and keep you returning to SP!

Hi! I just joined this team today!

I have been with SparkPeople since January 2012, but I faded out and came back April 9th, 2012! I have lost 48 pounds since 4/9/12 and have 92 more pounds to go! I have hypothyroidism and I refuse to let it make me gain more weight than it already has! Excited to meet all of you! = )

Hi! I'm MaryAnn and have been on SP since May, 2008. I actually lost all the weight I wanted and then went to Great Britain and ate so many pasties, scones, clotted cream, etc. that I have gained back about 25 pounds. That trip was in July of '09. I don't think I have been really serious about losing until recently. I try to track everything (even the bad stuff) and I exercise at least 4 times a week. But I am having trouble dropping the pounds this time. I use the Wii for my exercise and I have been unable to get a score on the SuperHula even once since I've been back. That really bugs me. Of course I am 2 1/2 years older, too. Anyway, this sounds like a great team and I like the idea of keeping up with the calorie differential.

Hi! I've been on SP for about 10 months now and need to lose another 13.5 lbs(47,250cals) I keep a daily record of how many cals I've consumed and as my daily calorie burn is on average 1870 cals I need to consume around 1370 cals or less per day to reach my goal before May 2012. I hope that this team will keep me on track!emoticon

I was pretty successful 8 week challenge and lost 10 pounds, but I have another 23 to go. I have been a member of sp since 2007, have always done well with the exercise, but I found I have only been successful with the challenges, so I am looking to control my number of calories I take in to continue my weight loss.

Hi I am a sparker from Sweden who has some mixed feeling towards this teams since I am so easily obsessed with numbers that I need to be a somewhat laidback about them - but the goodie challenge seemed so funs so I want to participate! I have been on spark since 2009, love the site and begine every day with checking in - I have a 97% attendance in checking in since I started.
I am not at all successful in losing weight which make it sort of mysterious that I am still around...

Hi team! I'm 5'3", 137lbs. I've been with SP for over 2 years now. I didn't really "get on board" until Oct 2010. Since then I've lost 22 pounds but I still have 20 to go and I just haven't been able to. I am hoping that with this new team and a couple new challenges this winter that I'll be able to get rid of these additional 20 pounds!

Hi everyone,
My name is Monique and I am happy to start this new venture. I'm not a stranger to diet plans and making a list of what I had to eat and measuring the food. I did this with a weight loss clinic and lost 40 pounds. That was almost 2 years ago and now I want to lose more weight because I love being able to have energy and look and feel how I want. I hope we all can motivate and encourage one another because we are all here for the same reason.

hi, my name is jawanda, I'm 31 years old. I have 7 children, a husband, a grandmother i take care of, a dog, and I'm a nursing student. With all of these responsibilities i lost myself in the process. I have to lose over 70lbs to get back into a healthy range again. I really need a group that's going to help me stay on track. I lost my dad in jan. of this year to a stroke at the age of 56, i really don't want my children to have to go through the pain i feel daily for losing him so young. He lost his sister, my aunt,(whom i call momma because she actually raised me from the age of 1) at the age of 56 because of high blood pressure and kidney failure. This is a road I'm ready and willing to defeat!

Hi, everyone! I realized I've been active on this group for the last week or two, but haven't introduced myself. I'm Melissa, a 34 year old mom to two kiddos. I've been with Spark for about three years, but gained back 15 of the 20 pounds of the weight I lost and am really trying to buckle down and get the weight back off. It's been a lot more difficult this time so I feel like I need to be consistent with tracking everything. This team has been really helpful already.

Melissa, from Texas

Hello there team! I've never done anything like this before. So it's long overdue. I've dealt with weight my entire life. The difference now is I refuse to grow old feeling trapped in this body when I have a choice not to! I've been working out for the first time in my life for almost two months now. I feel motivated to continue this journey. I'm not very good at navigating this site yet like checking in on my goals etc. So bear with me as I learn. I just gotta say I'm so proud of all of us! We are doing something to change our future health. :)emoticon

Hello! I have been a SparkPeople member for a couple of months and I find it very inspirational and a great help with my weight loss. This is the first time that I have joined a team and I'm hoping to get and give inspiration from the team members. One of the biggest problems that I have is middle of the night eating. I wake up and eat something sweet in the middle of the night. I'm good all day and then mess up at night! Any suggestions to help me with this issue?

Hi everyone!

I am very excited to be a part of this challenge!! I have been a SP member for a while but not an active one. I recently started to monitor calories on the iPhone app and read all the amazing emails sent by SP and it has been very helpful so I decided to make a daily effort to report and post on this site.

I am hoping to be able to share my experiences with this group and to learn from everyone here. Today is a new day and I am ready to make a permanent change and I don't want to look back. I am hoping to find the motivation and support to go on from all the inspiring members on this site!

My greatest struggle is not exercise, but diet. I enjoy being active but food is an obstacle I have yet to overcome. My main goal right now is to be able to maintain a clean diet because even with a cheat day, I lose motivation and my fitness routine also gets thrown off. I need to overcome this bad habit and I am hoping you all can help!

Hi,
My name is Lisa. I have joined SP a while ago but have not been using it well. Now decided to be more consistent as couple of kilograms are coming and going for the last half a year. I also would like to tone my muscle, especially my arms. I am doing Julian Michaels No More Trouble Zones DVD. I have problem with being consistent with whatever I start. Hope joining the group will help 
Yours,
Lisa

I have knee replacements. I started out on the elliptical trainer last June and am up to an hour at a fairly stiff resistence as hard as I can go. I still have 20 pounds to go and admire everyone for their weight loss and fitness efforts. I love to ride and jump horses as well as paint wildlife. I wish I could find a fitness/weight loss buddy so we could encourage each other. Best wishes to all, John

Hi everyone! My name is Jayma and I have been a member of SP since June 2006. I am a wife and mother to two wonderful daughters. I'm excited to join this group to find new motivation and support as I continue on my weight loss journey. Look forward to getting to know you all!

Hi everyone. My name is Deborah and it is so nice to see so many familiar faces on here and getting to meet new ones.

SparkPeople has made so many improvements to my life not only physically but emotionally. I have found so much motivation and just people really caring about others on here.

Looking forward to this JL challenge to push myself even more. I have a condition that is sort of a permanent mild form of vertigo and actually exercising is what is helping it.

Good luck to all and lets all have FUN!

Hi, I'm Karen. I lost about 70 pounds on WW and have managed to keep off about 50 of it . . had a really emotional summer last year and let everything fall apart. My younger sister recently got really motivated and has lost quite a bit of weight; she started talking to me about it (and passed down the clothes she's un-grown out of, so I have been working really hard. I actually Prayed recently that I would change my attitude about exercising . . and guess what! I really have. I got Walk it Out and have enjoyed it but find that I'm just more into walking and Everything. I'm ready for another challenge so looking forward to the JL . . and to making more new friends.

This team looks awesome! Thanks for the invite! I love numbers and the logic behind them so I think this team will be a great fit for me. I've already gotten some insight in reviewing my differentials for the week. Aha! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm at 67 down...56 to go. One year has brought me here...hoping one more year will bring me to goal. Spark on! --Cathy

I am new to this site. I have lost 60 pounds on weight watchers and exercise daily but still need to lose another 25 to be slim. I am on the elliptical trainer for an hour daily and it has certainly helped but I want to work with other people in terms of staying fit and being trim. thanks for listening and congratulations to all those that are making an effort.

SP has helped me lose 72 pounds in the past 20 months. After a death in the family I've put back on 30# and am in the process of losing that AGAIN! SP is a tremendous encouragement!
At times I have gone for weeks without eating emotionally. I thought I'd beaten that, but then a crisis came and I was found lacking! I've lost 5 of those pesky 30 and am encouraged! My exercise is a constant in my life which makes me very happy! Looking fwd to being a member of this team!

Hi,
I had gastric bypass surgery but was part of the 5% that was hungry right after surgery. It has been 18 months and I am already able to eat quite a bit and almost anything. Before I throw this major surgery away, I need to get back on track by eating less and cutting the junk, chips, carbs and any white flour product.
Thanks for listening!
Ruby
