I wanted to freshen up the team and a name change felt like a good way to go.
So far with the feedback, there has only been one "Nay" and the reason being "I do not really like "Slim City" - to me it has a eating disorder ring to it; like it focuses on the "slim" result rather than the health part of losing weight. "
Everyone has the right to an opinion. I am thinking to go with the majority either way - and asked this particular member if he/she has a change of wording that would suit better.
I don't like skinny any more than fat - and I prefer not to have any particular weight in mind (no 120-villes - which are already taken anyway). Feel free to suggest. We will definitely go with the majority no matter what name, even if it just stays as by The Numbers.
I am not looking to increase the size of our team - I like a small team - but I wouldn't mind getting more motivation oriented.
I was asked: "I don't have a problem with the name but I think you should have spoken with the team leaders before making the change and announcing it.
What was your rationale for changing the name?"
My rationale was to try to "un-stagnate" the team. Since the release of The Spark, I personally have noticed that most teams are simply not very active anymore - even huddling is off. Motivation seems to be a biggie on the Introduce Yourself Forum.
I changed the name back - it only takes a moment to do - and will see what the feedback is like.
I never did find out who kept changing the Icon in December - and no, I wasn't asked, but I still liked it and enjoyed seeing what new item would be 'on the scale' from day to day.
