I have been searching for a good formula for calories burned and this is the one I found online and have been using in case someone else wants to use it I thought I would share. I think it may be on the high end a little bit but I know for a fact that me walking for an hour burns more than 180 calories which is what my cheap pedometer said. I think finding a formula that includes Heart Rate is essential. Anyway here is the one I use.
(HR x 0.4472) - (weight x .05741) + (age x .074 - 20.4022) x (Time /4.184)= calories burned
