I have decided that this needed to be seen. It was my blog for today but It needed to be in the threads also. I hope that you dont mind it being on the threads.

I have been on this site for 2 years. I have been told over and over NOT and I mean NOT to go below 1200 calories a day.
I have seen so many blogs and statements on threads about people being happy about staying below 1200 calories. Even going so far as to say they will only strive to eat 1000 calories a day permanently to lose weight.
Its not safe!!! Just do a search online or here on Sparkpeople and you will get the exact reasons!
I understand some of these people are new but there are some that have been here forever and think that 1000 calories is going to be enough to survive.
Everyone is going to do what they want no matter what We tell them or Sparkpeople tell them.
For the new members who are here and reading this. Start out slow. you cannot expect the weight to fall off with out it being slow. Or heck even dropping a bunch of weight in the beginning and then stopping all the sudden and not losing anything for a week or so. You WILL have slow weeks where you lose nothing. I did it for a year.
YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THIS IS YOUR NEW LIFESTYLE NOT SOME FLY BY NIGHT DIET!!!!!
