Today was great! Stayed within 1300 calories and still had plenty of protein, carbs, fat and had 9 glasses of water. Fruit and vegies are incorporated into smoothies along with yogurt and some tofu for protein. I even got a little more than 8 hours of sleep! WooHoo!! I tried almond milk but found it gross; no flavor at all. Anyway, hope you all had a terrific day and have an even better tomorrow!

I about overdid it in the heat, but I'm ok, so I must be getting stronger, but I'll get out earlier for my walk in the future.

Today I walked 4.19 miles in 68 minutes. (by the time I wished I'd cut it short, I was over a mile from home yet - but I did have my phone, if I'd really gotten in trouble)

I actually did a ST video last night. It was only 10 minutes but it was Pilates...and Pilates is HARD!!! I also did Turbo Jam.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Today I worked in the garden for almost two hours. Carrying bags of mulch (8) down 2 flights of stairs, back again for the next. Garden looks good, I got exercise and sweated ALOT because the heat index was 105 today. Yesterday I went canoeing with my DH and two very good friends of ours. Great exercise and great fun. We also got to introduce our friends to their first time seeing a bald eagle in the wild. www.flickr.com/photos/62191883@N07/5

July 8th was a very good day but 7/9 & 7/10 were shameful! I know it's stress causing me to crave bad carbs but I think it's emotional eating too. Since finding SP I've learned about emotional eating and I think I use food as medicine! Elder care is extremely difficult! I wish I knew someone who' been through this. My husband will look after his dad thru Thursday and then I take over Friday thru Sunday/Monday.

I know what you mean about peanut butter cravings. I eat a lot of pb, banana and honey or raspberry sandwiches. I can't live without them! Thanks for sharing. It's encouraging to know I'm not alone.

I wish I had seen this days ago, Martha!! I have the same exact problem some days - craving bread and butter or, even worse, peanut butter!! I think that mine comes from either stress or being tired...or both!! I hope that the next day was better for you!! I hope that the past few days since have been great!!

I'm hoping for a better day today. Yesterday was just awful; I had my first off day since I started SP. All I wanted was bread and butter and gave in to the craving. I think it's just stress causing me to be off just a bit. Today will be much better and have the confidence and knowledge to do it.

How awesome - 4 miles and 307 calories! Kudos! I bet that felt good! Will you be doing that distance more often now?

I logged my food again today. I MUST get better about that! I know I should be and I know it is the one thing that really worked for me before, but I am just having a heck of a time with that number/deficit thing!! This weekend was not good at all...not horrible, but not good. Today, I started off right though. I had fish and salad for "breakfast." I logged the other foods I have eaten today and will do my dinner later. For now, I am going to get my behind to bed!

Have a great day!!

Aww - Thank you! :)
Well, I ended up giving my legs a longer break than I intended. (4 days! oops) But I was up & out this morning - 4 miles in 62 mins - 307 cal burn. That's the longest I've done in a LONG time.

Sparkles: I hope that your legs are feeling better, after the break that you gave them. Sometimes, even if it doesn't seem right, it is the right thing to do! I understand having to do that, as I took yesterday off due to knee pain. I think I must have tweaked it just a bit, walking through the woods and fields Saturday! :( It still feels a bit off this morning, but I am going to give my Insanity workout a shot today. If it hurts still, I will quit.

I hope all are having a great holiday weekend and are having a great day!

Well, oddly enough, I did NOT go for a long walk/jog today & that was the right thing, because when walking my little dog around the block, my calf muscles/achilles tendons were WARNING me to knock it off! So I'm going to see what they think in the morning - lol.

Wow! What an AWESOME deficit! Good for you! That is, so long as you took in enough calories! lol Great job! Well done! :)

As for the issue with your boyfriend, it is amazing how, every once in a while, they surprise us with their reaction to something. We expect the worst and are pleasantly surprised! Not that we don't get the reverse sometimes, but...

I am glad that you had such a wonderful day. I hope that it starts a big ball of positive energy rolling for you!!

I just had to let everyone know that today I was at -803 for my calorie deficit! That's so exciting. Also I actually addressed an issue and resolved it with my boyfriend. I was worried that he'd be upset but it was totally not that way. All in all, it really was a good day. I appreciate everyone on our team so much. Thanks!

I think my calorie count for today is going to be a good one! That has been rare lately. I have had a hard time keeping things in check, as the workout program I am doing wants me to eat a bit more than Spark. It makes me feel guilty when I go over on my tracker, but I haven't changed it yet! lol

Awesome job with the water!! I just can't seem to get that one yet! I have to say that I am even more proud of myself for pushing past my lack of motivation and getting my workout in today than I am of logging my food. While they are both important, it was MUCH harder to motivate myself to exercise!

WTG 3Whales!!

Today I decided that if I cannot do the Step Workouts, I will find a way to learn the steps online!

I downloaded several of these to my "RealPlayer" and will do more as time allows.
www.ehow.com/videos-on_267_step-aero
bi
cs_-basics-workout-routines.html

I will learn the steps One at a time!

Last night I had a "peanut butter binge" - when my body calls for a food that strongly, I tend to follow through with it. So I was up a bit today but it was expected.

However, today I did great! My calories are low, my nutrients are great! I walked 6 miles (done in 2 walks) and I feel like I had a fabulous day! Now to catch up on my Spark and I can relax for an hour before bed!

Woohoo, threewhales! That is a good day.

Today, I did not cry when I stepped on the scale. That is because I knew, going in, that I ate about 3x more salt yesterday than I should have and I knew I was going to pay for it. Why did I even step on the scale? Masochism... lol

The best way is to furnish the link for The Wave:
www.firmdirect.com/firm/p/The-WAVE-S
pe
ed-Slimming-System-Deluxe-Upgrade.html

but I purchased mine at Walmart for $57. It didn't come with the chart or the extra DVD workouts.

Today I tried the Speed Slimming SCULPT DVD but I was not able to do all the steps. But I did keep trying! So I would guess I did maybe 1/3 of the steps but as I get used to them I am hoping they will become easier. The little I did was fun!

I think I am just going to have to take the steps one at a time until I can master each one.

Okay, I am going to have to ask what "The Wave" is all about. I have seen it mentioned in a few different places.

I tried to do W3D1 today, but it just isn't meant to be. First, my treadmill went haywire on me. Then, when I got outside, I found that the weather just wasn't what I thought it was. I gave up. Tomorrow is a new day though, so it will all work out!

I picked up some weights this morning and found the muscles in my arms! They were sleeping! :) I need to run to town, but then I am going to get my house back under control...that'll last until 2pm, when kids start getting home! lol

As they say, the president only puts his pants on one leg at a time.

Fear not and you will do great!

Yesterday was the day from hell - well, not really, but I was incredibly lazy. Had a "jammie" day when I didn't have to get dressed. No walk, no exercise and my eating was a bit out of control - way out for me, lol.

Today I am back on track and walked 3.5 miles this morning and 4 miles this afternoon. Calories in range for everything! WooHoo!

I went out and did W1D2 of the C25K program and I did it right, so it felt good and I made it all the way through. I got some additional exercise in by shoveling. I also quit putting it off and cleaned the disaster area that my bathroom had become! I think that's pretty good for today! :)

Old thread but a really good one! Thank you for reviving it!

Today I must dig deep to find something right! It is raining, I am lazy and I got the munchies for sweets right after reading a comment left on my page! I had pecan pie with ice cream.

What I am doing right is logging it in! No matter what I eat, I log it in. If I go over, I go over. But if I bite it, I write it!

Old thread, so I guess that this will be a revival. :)

Today, I didn't let myself make excuses and I got in a small workout. My body isn't really feeling it, but I need to get back into good habits. I am pleased with myself for doing it, even if it was only 20 minutes.

I also logged my food so far today! I haven't done that in MONTHS! I realized, while I was doing it, that it was an avoidance/"I don't want to know" thing. Now that I have seen the results of that attitude, I know I need to get back into that habit and quickly! :)

WTG Leslie!!

After 2 days of extra starch (PB&J sandwiches) I got back into the vegetable groove yesterday! Finally!

Tues it was because of blood donations. Wed because Ray fell and opened his arm in a nasty cut and I missed breakfast. Yesterday it was because I had to rush to get Pop to dialysis 2 hours early.

Today I will not have a PB&J sandwich! I will have extra vegetables and fruit.

Yesterday the right thing I did was to accept that my body is happy at 120 lbs. I got wobbly after donating blood so I don't feel I should go lower.

Today I mowed my dad's lawn again, "push mower, me-propelled," for 35 minutes.

I walked on my treadmill for 60 minutes. (3.88 miles!) Taking it one day at a time but today feels great!

I didn't Hula Hoop today - I'll do it again tomorrow. But I did manage to get my full 20,000+ steps again today - this makes day # 25 and counting!

Today I did the Hula Hoop 3 minutes to the right and 5 minutes to the left!! 8 minutes total! WooHoo!

(To the left is easier for me so 5 minutes was about as exhausting as 3 to the right. I found a 100 count revolution is really close to 1 minute for me.)

I followed this with Strength Training!

I had two little bites of a brownie before descreetly tossing it in the trash. It was a co-workers birthday treat.
