I'm still around. Been doing my imitation of a yo-yo for the last five years. I'm getting airsick from all the movement.

Going to get a running start to this and get it done once and for all!

Have a great day!

Good for you. A pound a week is a good rate.

I'm waiting on knee surgery and have slowed down on my cardio, but I am maintaining at least.

I was wondering how everyone is doing on their weight lost journey. Today I weighed myself and I have lost a pound since last week. It could possibly be more, but I am doing the weights more then I had previously.

You are right, sometimes it is so very difficult. I have found it helps to "take a break" from time to time and just allow yourself to "cheat". One meal a month with something "extra" seems to help me stay on track a bit better the rest of the time.

This says let's chat. So I am here to chat. If anyone has something that they would like to talk about I will be here if you need some uplifting or anything.
One thing I need to chat about is my getting back on track with this whole weight loss thing. I know I am not that the only one who struggles, but it sure is hard at times.

Wow! I can't believe no one has posted on this thread since March! I know I've been busy and have done a lot of traveling lately. Right now I'm in California ... a week ago I was in Virginia. I can't wait to get back to North Dakota, put my feet up and do nothing for a couple of days. I'm just worn out.

I hope everyone is doing well and Sparking somewhere. It's not unusual for our spark classes get pushed to the back of our spark teams once people get up and running at Spark People. I'm guilty of not checking in with my class mates (both my original class that was started the week I joined and this class).

I survived the Klondike. It was a great experience ... I worked registration and was asked to stay on as a score keeper so I was inside all day. I had a chance to go out to the activity site but declined the offer. Had the wind not kicked up bringing the visibility to near zero I would have gone, but there's no sense going outside if you can't see anything when you get there. We got the three inches of new snow and high winds the weather forecaster predicted, and it was COLD! The Scouts seemed to enjoy themselves. As luck would have it each of the teams won something and that was nice. My son and a his friend Josh ran one of the stations. They both made Eagle Scout the same year and both became Assistant Scoutmasters with our troop when they turned 18. They have participated in the Klondike Hike for many years but this was their first year running one of the stations. The Scoutmasters walked around from station to station, watching how their Scouts were doing and rating the stations based on the Scout Spirit of the people running the station, how realistic a challenge they presented to the scouts, how thorough their instructions were, how well they had set up their station, and how well they fed the observers that went through. Paul and Josh had some great deer hunter sausage they cooked up and had made a big welcome sign with instructions for the task to be performed there. They won the award for best station! I'm so darn proud of that young man!

Bev, that snowball fight is cute! I'm going to use that application to do something with pictures of my coworkers...

TerriJoe, wow at the snow. I recall having a conversation with you on here a year ago about the snow you had back then too.

We were lucky this year, we didn't get anything close to what was dumped on us last year. Easily manageable. Keeping my fingers crossed that we have a nice summer.

I hope the reunion went well.

It's not unusual to drift away from a Spark Class once you get established in other teams. The Class is really a starting point; once you find teams where you have more in common that the date you started at spark people you tend to spend more time there and less time in class.

Glad to read you're feeling better Bev.

I'm popping in to say hello to you all. I know I haven't posted much in this team. I still am active on the Spark site, keeping busy with life in general, too.

Things are good with me. I was turtling for a few months... one pound on, one pound off, but I think I can safely say that I'm back on track now, and am only 7.9 lbs away from my 50 lb goal!

Thanks Deana. If the rain holds off I think we may even get the tandem out for a short ride this morning after the painters get started. I made it down to the sewing room last night. Not seeing it for a week really gives you a fresh view. I gotta get organized (again). So while the painters are here that will be my project.

Rode 14 miles this morning, and probably should not have. It was very hot and even drinking lots of water and eating before the ride, I got over heated. May skip the ride tomorrow, or stick to the tandem.

It was 99 today. Way to hot for me to be outside, so I sewed all day.

Had some BIG storms last night and the power went out for a while. But it is back on and they got the new air conditioner in. Didn't get the duct work fixed, but will be back later for that. At least it cools and I don't have to empty the condensation bucket.

Waiting on the storms to get here again this morning. MIL's brother is not doing well today, his wife just called to let me know. That always upsets MIL and she is not doing well at all.

OK, the AC people came. We don't have to take the side of the house out, but do have to make a larger access to the attic. The old unit will have to be dismantled to get it out and the new one will have to partially dismantled to get it in. Bad news is the access is directly over my new tile floor. At least it can be done without cutting a hole in the side of my house.

No, I don't have to stay at the hospital. Most of the calls are for information (or complaints) only, but we only get paid if we are called back. There is a night locker for any meds they will need. It is only an hour to UAB teaching hospital, so most serious cases go straight there.

I've got a couple friends who are pharmacists ... one works at the only hospital in town and the other works at a small town pharmacy in South Dakota. When you're on call do you stay at the hospital? That's a long response time ... 15 minutes to get out the door then a 45 minute drive and another 10 - 15 minutes to get the drugs to the floor ... and if you have to do that 2 - 3 times a night; no wonder you're tired!

I'm a pharmacist at a small hospital. We are open 7a-5p, and it is a 45 minute drive. Does make for long days. They are trying to extend the hours back to 7-7, which will make for really long days. We usually get 2-3 calls at night. I don't know how the guys that work full time do it. I only work 1-2 days a week and get very tired.

What do you do, Bev? Up at 5A, home at 6P makes for a long day ... then being on call all night has me stumped!

Shannon arrived in Minot on Sunday. I made Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner for her since she was in Iraq for the past two St. Patrick Days. It is great having her home again.

I agree, I have been so much happier at home. But, bills must be paid and since I only work 1-2 days a week it isn't really that bad. Just the getting up at 5a, home at 6p, and on call all night. DH works 2-midnight so we don't see much of each other on those days. It will be fine, however it works out.

I do hope they can keep you for a while, Bev ... pay checks are nice. I kind of miss mine at times, but then I think about all the stuff I was missing at home because I worked evenings, and I know I'm definately happier at home.

Went to a movie and dinner last night. Did well with the dinner (grilled salmon, steamed vegies, and rice) but the dessert got me (key lime pie). Gotta get serious again today. But it sure was good.

Happy Mother's Day everyone, lets enjoy it.

I didn't know it had a name TerrieJo, but that is what I have been doing. If I stay at the lower end of my calories I seem to plateau. I have been staying low for 4-5 days then eating more. Guess I need to change to 2-3 days and see if that works. I also limit my fats way to much so I'm working on that.

Men! Can't live with 'em ... can't live without 'em. They seem to throw us off course at the most inconvenient. I'm glad you're doing well again, Enica. As our scoutmaster is fond of saying, "It's not how you FALL that matters ... it's how you get UP that people will remember." Fourteen pounds by the end of summer should be very doable.

Bev ... those darn plateaus sure can be exasperating. Have you tried calorie cycling? Try to eat towards the bottom end of your range for two days then towards the top end for two days. It is suppose to help you break out of the plateau and prevent plateaus from happening.

You gotta watch those guys, they can really get in the way. I'm glad you are back on track again.

I am on another plateau. Seems I loose for 2 weeks then don't for 2 weeks. Next week I should lose again.

Yup, 'tis me... I did change my name...

Thanks for the compliments, TerrieJoe. I feel great! Was off track for a little bit, (I let a dumb boy interfere with my progress!) but I am definitely back on track.

I'm ready to reach my goal.... hopefully sometime late in the summer.... now all I have to do is get the job done!

I was confused too. Is that you Enica?

Have I totally lost my mind, or did you change your sign on name, Enica? You're looking GREAT! What a difference between your starting picture and your April picture. WOW!!!

I loved the YouTube clip, Bev. Thanks for sharing. I don't know which I enjoyed watching more ... the dancers or the smiles on the people who were totally caught off guard by the performance.
