BJBABICH - How did the Nutritionist meeting go? My insurance will not cover the cost so I have never gone to see one.
I have a 20 month old granddaughter who will have a little brother in February. Having the agility and energy to be a good grandmother is important to me too. Thanks for writing.
I too lost a lot of weight in the 80's. I am 55 and a half and I have been diabetic for 3 years. I have been playing like I don't have a care in the world since thanksgiving. I feel terrible my blood sugar is high but not as high as I thought it would be. I am going to count points starting at midnight. WW points with carbs in mind..........I know it is that holy of all days to start anything but I pray that this year will be different. So in less than 2 hours, I will start, I wont be perfect but if I put it in my mouth I will journal it and if I journal it I will count points. At least I will be thinking about what I eat and won't be kidding myself.
Nice to meet you, maybe we can support each other to better health.
My Dr is sending me to a diabetic nurse and nutritionist. My first half day appointment is Jan. 3. I have been doing some reading, and I really want to get this under control. I lost weight 3 times in the 80's and gained it back every time going higher. I have been at the weight I am now for about 20 years. But now the dr says I have diabetes and must take charge of my health. I am 57 years old. It is time to start taking care of myself.
It is good to find some support on line from all the good folks at Sparkpeople!
