We have been dealing with that for the past few months and I feel like we have hit a balance, not in what gets accomplished, but in our attitudes about what gets accomplished. I homeschool my three little guys, so I feel like I have multiple full time jobs-- housekeeper, mommy, teacher, wife. Not to mention taking care of myself with exercise, etc!

It feels a little like juggling-- if I boost my housekeeping work, the house looks better (which my husband loves) but something else gets neglected. If my kids do lots of great learning activities, the house may look like a wreck when my husband gets home from work.

I decided not to exercise during the day because it takes too much away from the kids and house. If I wait until my husband gets home (right around dinner time) to disappear for 25 min of exercise, the the family doesn't miss me as much.

Aw, thanks! And right back atcha. That's the kind of encouragement we give so well to others but not our ourselves. So I'm off to cut 'n' paste, enlarge, print and tape your comments to the mirror!

I think the fact that you are even trying to get everything done means you are doing a GREAT job! If at the end of the day your kids are happy and healthy, then give yourself a pat on the back!

This probably isn't the helpful advice you were looking for .. but just wanted to pass on a little encouragement. You are a great mama just for CARING! emoticon

Hey mamas, how is it that 24 hours is not enough hours in one day to get everything done? Sigh. Sometimes I am so on top of these things, and sometimes they weigh me down and it seems impossible to get the smallest thing done. I've changed my priorities in the new year to be able to make exercise happen, but other things get sacrificed. How do you make all the important things happen in your daily/weekly lives?
