This holiday season will be my son's first! For the next many, many years, I won't be without family at the holidays. I'd always had my husband around but I'm used to huge family gatherings. Going from 2 to 3 people is a big difference. I'm so excited to see what he does at the holidays. He will be 7 months for Halloween, 8 for Thanksgiving, and 9 months for Christmas! I'm excited to start traditions and I won't be without help. I'm using FlyLady's Cruizing through the holidays.

Aw, I love baby's first holidays. That is the sweetest thing. My baby is two now. She is talking great now. I can understand most of what she says, it is sooo cute. I can't wait until Christmas. I used to love opening presents and still do but I never imagined how much MORE exciting it would be to watch my kids open them. Bying for them is so fun and getting to be home with them is so awesome. I am so blessed
OH yes I am rather excited about this holiday season too!!! I am super excited that summer time is over and fall is in the air....i love this time of year so much..Im soooo ready for decorating and family time. This is also my first holiday season with my daughter. I can not wait to have christmas with her....it's going to be so much fun!!!!
Hi Everyone! Saw this post and realized this is the first holiday season that I have not been a retail manager in over 15 years. I can not wait to be able to maybe be one of those crazy black friday shoppers and even more be able to enjoy the holidays. I have always managed to pull off both the very traditional thanksgiving and christmas meals. I love to throw the party to gather in and have all of the family around. Let the countdown begin

A poem goes along with the ornament. I'm going to make a small card folded with a hole punched in it and attach it to the ribbon that includes the poem. Here's the poem.....
These aren't just five snowmen As anyone can see. I made them with my hand Which is a part of me. Now each year when you trim the tree You'll look back and recall Christmas of 2011 When my hand was just this small!
I think this is adorable. Hope you enjoy it too!
WORKIN' ON IT...

I cooked the entire Thxgiving meal this year, incredibly tiresome but I learned so much. My kids are young so we havent gotten into the thanksgiving crafts this year but I would love to start those traditions with them! Since there are so many ways to make pumpkin, a tradition we thought we would start is to make a new pumpkin dish every year.
This year we made pumpkin dip, a recipe my daughter brought home from her school. Eh, it wasnt very good lol.

Our Thanksgiving will be totally traditional. I love cooking this huge meal for my family - all the hard work pays off when they are all together and enjoying quality time together. We will share what we are grateful for and share our thoughts on our 2 brothers that passed away last month. It will be a time for tears and for laughs.

This will be the first holiday season that I'm not working 16 hour shifts the day before and the day after Thanksgiving in over 3 years. I'm excited. We are keeping it pretty traditional for thanksgiving. But I'm hoping to start up some great new traditions this year, now that I have the time to!
We have always had a very 'traditional' menu for Thanksgiving but we have a new addition to it this year. Last year my Grandmother was buried the day before Thanksgiving and the anniversary of her birthday was last week; obviously, all of us are missing her terribly right now. We, as an extended family, have decided that this year we'll make her favorite cake (Angel Food Cake with Lemon Glaze) to add to the dessert menu.
Only you can.

Thanksgiving is a week away! Whohoo!!! Tell us what you do for Thanksgiving - what are your traditions? Do you have some amazing crafts you like to do with the kids? If so, share those with us here. Do you have some recipes you would like to share - then here is the place. I know I would love to get some new ideas for crafts and recipes and I don't think I am alone.
I hope everyone has a stress free and enjoyable holiday! Malia
