Congratulations, I hope he keeps it up. Now if only I could get my daughter to go pee when she has to and not only when I tell her to. Still working on that one.

So he's going! All by himself. He'll just go sit on his little potty & go. Only thing is he gets really upset if I take too long to give him his high 5.

Now for my niece, I called her mom & she straightened up. Now I just have to look for all her underwear that she was hiding all last week. I refuse to buy more b/c she's gone thru 2 new packs & I can only find 3 pairs. They are around her somewhere.

Well atleast my horrible week with potty training is over. I've gotten it all done! My little dude is using the potty on his own & my niece isn't rebelling anymore...lol. Yay me! lol

Just a little update!

So we went and bought a cheap ($10) training potty at walmart. I set it in the livingroom on top of a towel. We've only had it for 4 days and today he went in it 3 times (after telling me he had to potty) and had 1 accident.

Now for my niece (who is potty trained) it is another story. She keeps peeing and pooping on herself. She is 9 days younger than my son, but has been potty trained for almost 3 months. She can get up and get on the "big potty" on her own and did just fine the first week she was here. Now another delimma. Getting her to stop being spoiled and wanting all the attention (she's the youngest of 3 girls).

I have called her mom and all I am being told is "that's Bo". No! She is not allowed to poop on my couch or pee on my carpet. Especially when she knows how and does use the toilet on her own. I am trying to contribute this to her "retaliating" but when she sits there (right next to me) and starts pooping or peeing herself I can't help but become annoyed.

The idea of her visiting was for my son to have someone to play with and so he'll see that "big kids can pee in the potty and don't wear diapers". IDK what to do with this little girl.

Actually I was pulled into this one add about something called PODS. They advertise them as basically for the underwear to help protect against leaks. I bought a box and I was very disappointed because all they were were large pads. My daughter is very small for her age and when I put them in her underwear she could barely walk. If you are going to use them I would just buy regular pads because that is all they are. Like I said though how much is it really going to hold though, I don't think they could absorb fast enough.

I wonder if it's a panty liner for incontinence or mentration. Incontinence liners may work. I just don't think my daughter should even know what they are right now let alone wear one.

I don't know it's not like a panty liner would hold a lot of liquid. I know with me I always try to make sure that I take my daughter as soon as we get were we are going and every hour after that. At home it isn't every hour, but when we are out that is what I do.

I just read an article where a mother puts a panty liner in both her daughter and son's under clothes when they go out into public. She said it was to keep them from having accidents. Incase they were too far from the bathroom. What do you all think about it? Me I don't know if I could do it although I do see the logic in it. Let me know.

Hi ladies! I'm currently potty training also. My daughter is two...well actually almost three here in October. My older son and daughter (7 and 5) didn't go on their own until 3. I used to get so frustrated with my oldest, he was 2 and I couldn't understand why he knew he had to go but refused to. I finally just gave up, I asked him if he wanted to try several times through the days, offered some positive words and just allowed him to decide. We still read books on going potty and again, positive reinforcement on a regular basis. Shortly after his 3rd birthday he told me he wanted to go by himself and that was that. Not an accident, not a soiled anything...never had an accident through the night (though as a precaution I still used a pull up at night for a month or so before I was sure he could hold his bladder). My daughter was the same deal, I did all the same things, she was very negative for awhile and then one day at the magical age of three she said she wanted to go by herself and that was that, lol. No accidents, no messes, no accidents at night, same deal with pull ups. So here I am with my nearly three year old and my 18 month old and I have been chomping at the bit to get her to go, I thought for sure she'd be my early one but I'm dealing with the same negativity. So I'm just going to handle it like I did with the other two...just not sweat it and keep up the reinforcement (making a sticker chart and explaining what we are going to use it for etc). I'm sure when she is ready she'll tell me. She's already beginning to show some signs of willingness. Some days she'll want to try it, others not. I tend to have more stubborn kids though, lol. I think for every child it's different. I would say by 3 and a half or so it's time to maybe get pushy about it if it hasn't happened yet. Just my opinions though...I know sometimes people start worrying that something is wrong with their kids because they don't tend to conform to what we are told is the norm. I think that if a kid is potty trained by 3 to 3 and a half there is no shame in it. I'd actually prefer to not have to worry with the messes! Best of luck to everyone currently dealing with it though. I cannot wait to be completely diaper free...but I have one more kid to go after her! =) Btw, if anyone is interested in a home-made wipes recipe, let me know. I have a really good one I've used for a long time and it's super economical (wipes get so expensive!) for anyone looking to save some cash...and they work perfectly. =) Okay, think I wrote a book here, lol. emoticon

Here is my tactic on potty training. Take the diapers away. I know that it will get messy for awhile, but I think that they learn a lot faster. When I got pregnant with my 2nd child I wanted my oldest to be trained by the time she was born. I had him completly trained in 2 months. That is night time as well. I also did not use the pull ups accept for at bed time. It is to much like a diaper. With my daughter she has been a little tougher. Now she always goes poop in the potty, but I still have to tell her when to go pee and she still wears a pull up at night. At first it is messy and you will be cleaning up messes all the time. But it is a lot less comfortable when they have wet cotton underwear on instead of a diaper or a pull up. I hope that helps.

My daughter is 2 and a half and we are still working on the potty training. She did really well for about 3 months then all of a sudden she was soiling her panties. Now we are back in diapers. Her doctor told me to wait a little longer but she knows when she has to go. It's frustrating for her as well as me.

Believe me I know the feeling. It took until my 2 oldest were 4 years old before they got the hang of it. My 3rd child only took 2 weeks after ordering the information on this website: www.3daypottytraining.com I wasn't able to potty train my 3rd in the 3 days a lot of people have supposedly been able to, but cutting it down to just 2 weeks made me a believer. This website has AWESOME tips on how to train your little ones. My youngest just turned 2 last month, and she's finally showing signs of being ready. I plan to use the exact same examples used on that website.

Good luck!!! I hope this helps!!!

Does anyone have any potty training tips? I've tried taking my 2 yr old son to the bathroom on a schedule, then I tried the every 30 mins, and am currently hoping he'll get the hang of it from his cousin who is farther along in the process. He understands he ha to go in the toilet, but he rather wait until I put his underwear back on to go. He's gotten to the point that he waits until I'm not watching to go on himself. My hubby wants him potty trained by Dec which I know is not a respectable goal, but it is worth a try. I just don't understand how he can know that he has to use the toilet, but refuses to. He also tells me when he goes on himself when he has on a pamper so I am totally clueless on how to get around this not wanting to use the potty.

Any suggestions?
