Agreed! No matter what you choose to do, there's no room for guilt. If you're following the complete schedule, you've got a few days of cardio with Burn It Off and Burn Intervals, so as long as you are really working and not just going through the motions, you will be able to maintain or improve your CR fitness through the program. The main benefit to doing additional cardio on your otherwise ST-only days would be to burn more -countable- calories. (Muscle does "burn fat" and increase your metabolism, but it can be difficult to step outside the mindset that you have to see a hard number for something to be worthwhile; you also can't really know exactly how much your heavy lifting is changing your BMR without doing a formal test like the one Chalene describes on the motivational CD.)
Either way, you are doing more for yourself than most people, and for that, you should be proud.

I would make sure you listen to your body if you are going to add cardio into your workouts with ChaLEAN Extreme. The strength training in this program is done in a way for maximize your results. There were some days when do ChaLEAN Extreme I would add some TurboFire but most days I did what was on the calendar.

no guilt. muscle burns fat. It is just wierd not doing cardio if you are used to it. I do cardio on the weekends either running or zumba. I love getting in a good sweat. if you want, you can add in cardio on top of the weightlifting. I love doing chalean in the morning because I am still waking up, but you have to try and see what works for you. good luck

my words for the year:
I am trying to set up a new exercise program I was wondering if you guys do cardio on the days you lift with Chalean Extreme. I feel guilty if I don't do cardio but I am a now a working mom. I have stayed home for 6 years and now need to find time to workout. I am not a morning person and feel guilty working out in the evening because I feel like I am missing out on kid time. I am working on getting up in the morning to get the workout done. So if I just do the 30 to 40 minutes lifting is that enough or should I do cardio in the evening also?
