Stick to that, so they know that this is one thing that you will not let go of. As soon as you let go somebody will take that hour from you and you won't get it back. As the kids get older this will be how it always is and they will know that this is your time and it doesn't take away from their time.

I also have two young children. My boys are 9 months and 2 years old and neither one sleeps through the night yet. I have found that I have to get up at 4 am in order to make sure I get my workout in. I know that sounds early but I keep telling myself that this is the one thing in the day that I do JUST FOR ME. I refuse to cheat myself out of the one thing I do for myself in the day. I leave all 3 guys in bed and if one of the babies wakes up it is up to my hubby to put them back to bed.

I agree..getting your workout done first thing in the morning is best. I used to get up at 5am to get mine in. I just had a baby 10 weeks ago so my schedule is a little off. However, I did find that after 2 weeks of getting up at 5am I got used to it. It's hard the first few days but after awhile it becomes a routine and you'll be asking yourself why you didn't get up earlier!

Oh and what helped me was as soon as I woke up I went in the bathroom and washed my face with ice cold water! hahaha...That definitely woke me up!

I completely agree with LadyDiscipline-once you get used to getting up, you will have more energy throughout your day. With that said, when my children were younger and I was a single parent, the only time I could make some time for myself was after they were all tucked in to bed. It was late, I was tired but I always felt so much better after I finished my workout. I felt that I was able to do something for me in my day and that is very important. Take care of yourself and you will be able to take care of the ones you love!

When I was in the military I found that I just had to make myself get up early and work out. I'm not a morning person either, but you have to carve that time out for yourself.
You might be able to try something like 10 minute trainer so you can do more compound stuff that will get you more results in a shorter amount of time until you get your schedule down.
One bonus with working out first thing in the morning is that once your body adjusts you have more energy throughout the day.

I started working a full time job this year, and have 2 kids. I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years. I was wanting some advice from working parents when do you workout. I am not a morning person at all and don't feel like working out after we get home at night between homework, dinner and everything else we do...lol I've also gained back all of the weight I had lost :(

Thanks!!
