You don't actually have to have anything but the resistance bands, but if you prefer to use weights you'll probably need a couple of heavier ones. If you are brand new to weight lifting, I would bet that 10 lbs would be the heaviest you would need - it sure was enough for me! I think that a 7 lb pair and 10 lb pair would set you up nicely. But! You may want to wait and see if you like the band, way cheaper!
Oh, and lots of protein choices. ;-) Chicken breasts get pretty old pretty fast.
