I am doing both right now. I did not want to do the Hybrid version. I really do not know why maybe because I wanted to get maximum results and because I have not gone through ChaLean Extreme yet. I think I can do both programs at the same time and be okay! I would not be able to go without TurboFire so that is one of the main reasons I am doing both together. What can I say TurboFire is my Soul Mate workout!

Doing a hybrid, you can make one up yourself and it doesn't always mean that you have to double up workouts either. This is an example of what someone made up without a lot of time to workout everyday.

Sunday: Rest Day
Monday: Burn circuit 1 and Abs
Tuesday: Turbo Fire FIRE 30
Wednesday: Burn Circuit 2 and Abs
Thursday: Turbo Fire FIRE 45
Friday: Burn Circuit 3 and Abs
Saturday: Turbo Fire 55 or ChaLean Extreme Recharge

If you want sub Insanity Cardio in place of TF here is a schedule that might work for you too.

Weeks 1-4
Mon: CLX Burn Circuit 1/Insanity Cardio Abs
Tues: Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit
Wed: CLX Burn Circuit 2/Insanity Cardio Abs
Thurs: Insanity Cardio Power &Resistance
Fri: Rest
Sat: CLX Burn Circuit 3/Insanity Cardio Abs
Sun: Insanity Pure Cardio


Weeks 5-8
Mon: CLX Push Circuit 1/Insanity Cardio Abs
Tues: Insanity Max Interval Circuit
Wed: CLX Push Circuit 2/Insanity Cardio Abs

As far as your boyfriend goes, Chalean would be fine for him too, would he be willing to do a hybrid with you. I'm 5'9, 266 pounds I did a round of Chalean Extreme and lost 24 inches, not much weight, but I personally rather worry about getting inches off then what the scale says. One important thing that you both need to remember is Muscle burns Fat, the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism. The more muscle you have the toner "thinner" you'll look. That's why I personally think it's important to do both lifting and cardio.

Not sure about dizzy spells, does he have high blood pressure? Is it when he goes from floor to standing up? Pushing himself too hard? If it continues I would ask your doctor.

Is your Beachbody coach been any help in all this, they should be a good person to seek advice from too. They maybe able to get you in a support group or challenge group to give you extra support along your way.

Thanks for that. I'll definitely check it out. The only problem is that I really only have time to do one of them, Turbo Fire or ChaLean. I have to do Insanity with my boyfriend because if I don't do it with him, then he'll give up on it. He's one of those people who need a partner to exercise with to keep them going. He's about 243 pounds now, though he lost about 6 pounds so far on Insanity. Do you think ChaLean might be a better workout for him? He mostly just wants to lose weight. It's not really about the muscle for him. It's about slimming down because he is obese and we both want to see him get healthier. But I can convince him to try ChaLean if you think it might be better?

Also he's been getting a lot of dizzy spells lately doing Insanity. Is this common?

According to the link above you are in a healthy range for weight. Which may be a good reason your body doesn't want to lose weight now. My question to you is do you care about how much you weigh or is it just the look of your body you want to get better. Toning up and gaining some muscle may add "weight" to you, but it will slim you down in appearance at the same time. Make your jeans fit better, shirts hang nicer on you.

If you want to balance out both I would say TF and ChaLean would be a great combo and when you buy TF there is a nice hybrid already written in the back of the book for you. Diet is where you are going to have to concentrate on the most, eating clean and getting rid of processed foods. Another thing you need to understand is sometimes the change doesn't happen until the 2 or 3rd month into the routine. My boyfriend and I are currently doing Insanity. He's a bit overweight and needs to lose it but I'm not. I weigh about 127 pounds and I'm 5'3", so I'm not overweight but I am also not happy with myself. I've kind of been a lazy bum for my entire life and, while I'm skinny, I have no muscle. My fat percentage is roughly 26% and I learned in my anatomy class last year that 26% isn't exactly healthy fat percentage for a woman. I really just want to lose a few pounds, shed the fat and build some muscle. We did Insanity for a full two weeks and were starting week 3 when I caught a virus and had to stop working out because my throat was swollen and I couldn't breathe or speak right. But, even was it was, I was putting all I could into my workouts but I wasn't getting any results. I wasn't losing weight or fat or on any other measurements and I was getting really discouraged. Now I'm thinking about doing a hybrid workout with Insanity and either Turbo Fire or ChaLean Extreme. I've heard Turbo Fire is a lot of fun and a good workout because you really get into the music but I also heard that ChaLean is better for burning off the fat.

Any suggestions on which exercise would be better for my purposes?
