Got mine today - I bought it from someone who bought it from someone else on eBay. According to what you've said here, though, it's a knock-off. Hopefully, it will still do the trick! I'm anxious to get started. May have to buy it again before it's all over, though.

Wow - wish I'd seen this thread before I bought my copy. I got it used from eBay & it should arrive next week. It's the only copy this seller has sold, so hopefully, it's just one someone bought & didn't use. It never even occurred to me it could be bootlegged.
If you purchase off ebay even the knockoff are sold in shrink wrap like new. This is for the chalean. I haven't purchased TF yet
The way to tell the difference will be in the add picturees
The knockoff sets have the dvd's overlaping in the disc holder. The orginal beachbody will have the disc laying in seperate disc holder. When you look on ebay you will see the difference. The stock pictures selling new are knockoffs.
Now I will tell you before I knew the diffference. I got the knock off set off ebay for $ 7.00. The disc work fine for a while but started skipping and pausing. The set also didn't come with the real books. THe set will only come with a brochure type booklet of the real books.
Just thought I would let you know diffrence. I have now bought the real thing off ebay for 30.00
If you are not sure ask seller to send you a actual picture. the disc should lay flat and not touch in the disc holder
so now you know how to tell the difference - good luck
I purchased mine last year from eBay. I asked a lot of questions of the seller and while the packaging "appeared" new it clearly was bootlegged or something. The booklet that gives the workout schedule and eating plan was only an eight page booklet so I had to go in search online for the workout schedule. Then when I finally got to the second disc (after the first month) it was scratched but you couldn't really see it - all in all, a few of the discs were scratched so much so that I had to purchase a disc cleaner from Best Buy. So, my experience is that I didn't really save any money. Also, as a side note for your husband, let him know that this is a 3-month program, including yoga and cardio so it isn't just one workout. When I bought my TF, I purchased from a beachbody coach so I didn't make that mistake again - was really pleased with the fact that there is a warranty. Good luck! You will love this program.

I paid $117.49 total on beachbody.com. $89.85 for the dvds, shipping $19.95, tax 7.69. Totally worth every penny! this Friday will be the end of my 4th week. I love the workouts and for Christmas my husband even got me the Bowflex Select-Tech dumbbells. They arrived today and I'm super excited!
Good point about the warranty. I also have to figure out how to convince my husband that spending $130 on it is a good idea, when most DVDs are less than $10. I want to do strength training, but I don't want to ask him for advice or give him any reason whatsoever to comment on my progress (or lack thereof).
I bought mine through BeachBody.com. I didn't trust other sellers b/c I was worried about the dvds being bootlegged or damaged. They are expensive and Amazon reviewers even said order through beachbody vs. amazon due to warranty issues if you ever have any. I got a couple bonus workouts with my set. I've been doing it for a month now and really enjoy it. it was totally worth the money to me! Good luck!
I haven't bought ChaLEAN yet. I am not too excited about spending the money on it, but it sounds like a really good program. I tried to see if I could find any that were used, but those cost as much as the new ones if they include the tester, books, band, etc. If they are just the DVD's they are cheaper.
I am starting to wonder how many of the sellers who are only selling the DVDs are bootleggers.
I also wonder why Beachbody workouts are so much more expensive than other brands of workout DVDs.
