I think it's a great starting program and the calories you suggested sound about right. One thing I've noticed by being in the program for 5 weeks is that while gaining a lot of muscle, I am not losing any fat. This has made my clothes tighter instead of looser. You will not bulk up. You would have to weight lift for 2 hours every day to look like one of those muscle builders. I do recommend that you add more cardio than the program suggests. I've been doing the extra bonus workout after each weight circuit.
Oh Yah and don't forget, notice how much weight Chalene uses and she is just a cute little button, no bulking going on there. Women don't bulk because we don't have testosterone.
