Maria, this is almost exactly what I am doing with the Hybrid. Just started a new challenge below on the challenges forum for a 90 Day Hybrid as I didn't like the TF one in the book. Adding HIITs before lifting and a stretch after. Then FIRES/Abs on the other days and the longer stretches and Core 20 on my rest day. I think it's going to be great. Well, wait and see!
Also and just tried out the Results and Recovery drink and really liked it. Glad to hear that you find it the best, too. :)
I pretty much wrote my own too. . .I love them both but want the added Cardio as it is my stress release. On the days I lift, I always do a HIIT or Fire. . .depending on what I did the day before. My favorite one to throw in is Fire 60. . .LOVE it. As for post work out protein/recovery, I actually supplement during the day with extra protein, but after my workout need 3 carbs/1 protein and do use the P90X Results and Recovery formula. . .it tastes the best to me, plus I feel better. I have used Citramax in a pinch and tried the Recovery drink that Amyway sells (nutrilite pineapple orange I think) but have found that I always feel best with the P90X one so I go back to it. I really believe that both programs you have are great, and regardless of how you use them, you are going to get great results if you are doing both! So I'm certain that someone has created their own hybrid and posted it - you will probably hear from a few people regarding this question. I personally went from CE to TF/CE. I had always been incorporating more cardio into CE since it didn't have enough for me but what I generally do is M/W/F (my strength training days), I do a HIIT or Fire 30 AND my CE. Then on T/Thur I do a longer TF like 45 EZ, 55 or I jog/walk for 45 minutes.
That's just what I do. I was having muscle fatigue and one of my turbo friends recommended L-Glutamine after I lift. That just replenishes the muscles and it is great! Another thing I have started incorporating is Coconut Water -that alone has made a great difference.
I was doing TF for about a month and just got CE. I started the hybrid, but it's a recovery week (for people that finish TF first and then go onto the hybrid) with not a lot of cardio. Is there any hybrid program that is for people that haven't finished TF yet and want to dive into both programs?
Also, what kind of protein do you guys drink/eat after a burn circuit workout that's low in cals, but replenishes your energy?
