I pretty much wrote my own too. . .I love them both but want the added Cardio as it is my stress release. On the days I lift, I always do a HIIT or Fire. . .depending on what I did the day before. My favorite one to throw in is Fire 60. . .LOVE it.
As for post work out protein/recovery, I actually supplement during the day with extra protein, but after my workout need 3 carbs/1 protein and do use the P90X Results and Recovery formula. . .it tastes the best to me, plus I feel better. I have used Citramax in a pinch and tried the Recovery drink that Amyway sells (nutrilite pineapple orange I think) but have found that I always feel best with the P90X one so I go back to it. I really believe that both programs you have are great, and regardless of how you use them, you are going to get great results if you are doing both!
