Thanks NANCY! I think so, too! Haha. I have an older Polar FA20, but that's basically a glorified pedometer... Haha. I spend way to much on gadgets.

Mina, that's a very wise compromise!

I only started jogging recently, but I already have the Polar FT40, which basically just does the usual HRM stuff without the GPS. So I use the MapMyRun app on my iPhone to track my runs while wearing my HRM. I didn't have to spend as much as I would have buying a higher end model and MapMyRun is free and works like a charm. I figure this is an ok compromise. :)

Yes, it exists, and I have one. I have a Garmin 405cx and I am pleased with it. To get an idea if my HRM calorie burn calculation was close to being accurate, I asked my friend with a Body Bugg her calorie burn for some of the CE circuits and I am quite sure now that this little gadget is pretty accurate. I also use it for running outdoors. [You can also buy a foot pod for use when running indoors.]

My HRM apparently doesn't work for workout DVDs. I'd like to use something that monitors heart rate, calories burned, and GPS for outdoor running/biking as well as heart rate and calories burned for CE DVDs. Does this exist? If so, can you tell me the make and model of the HRM I need to buy? Thanks!
