I, too, am trying to plug back into this team. December was impossible for me but I'm trying to get back to my healthy life and this team helps me do that. I enjoy smoothies/protein drinks so when I market this weekend, I'll pick up all the stuff for the GREEN version. Thanks for the tip.

Hi...I'm here too! I actually signed up a while ago but have not been too active on the sparkteam stuff --probably because I"ve been navigating my way through all the other features that sp has to offer. But please know I am glad you're here--it's great to connect with others that eat similarly, and I think you are a great resource!

Yikes! Given the trapped for a week thing, while fresh greens are the preferred ingredient, you can use frozen. So if you like them, you can keep a bag or two of frozen spinach on hand for emergencies.
I got hooked on them fast!

I'm going to try it-went to the store 2 times yesterday & forgot spinach & coconut water both times! I love coconut water by the way-except the acai-that one not so much.I really need to get on the ball-this time of yr. I end up getting depressed because of the snow(where I live,I can be "trapped"for a wk & have to depend on others for rides to work etc...)Right now, there is a coating of ice-we are supposed to get a big system on Sun/Mon/Tues-aaagggghhhh!!!! I'm grateful though because my son in the Navy came home & was able to get out right before the last ice system hit.

If it helps, a cup of coconut water is about 40 calories and so is an equal amount of most milk substitutes (as long as you get unsweetened.) Everything else is going to hing on how much and what kinds of fruit you might use.

No, I really don't care about that sort of thing. All worrying about that did for me was make me fatter. So I eat what I want and try to concentrate on only when hungry and stop when I'm full.
I've opted for the green smoothies because going that route has gotten me to the point where my body was finally overruling my head enough to say, "Ya, know, I'd like some more nutrition, maybe something green."

That sounds pretty good-any idea about the calorie count on that?

I use a base of 1/2 coconut water and 1/2 almond milk (I'm not anti-dairy, but lots of people have said that greens taste funky when used with cow milk).
Then I add a frozen banana, small hunk of fresh ginger, cinnamon, some agave syrup, and a dash of ceyanne pepper. Mostly I also add blueberries, but sometimes I vary the second fruit with mango, strawberries, peaches, etc.
Then I fill the blender to the top with spinach.
I'm drinking 3 Qts of the stuff now, so the base is 1.5 cups each and I use almost a 1/2 bag of spinach each day.

I'm working on getting more nutrition into my day versus junk. It's amazing how much junk food is even vegan let alone anything else!
In any case, I've added green smoothies to my life and I'm really, really loving them.

Yep, I'm here. Things will pick up all over SP come Monday, but I'm afraid I've not been too successful in getting folks involved here.
