Just returned from coast and enjoyed several local seafoods - shrimp, grouper, tuna - in various dishes. Nothing like fresh!

No fish yesterday, but seafood.

Went to Lonestar and got a small side lobster tail without the entree it was designed to go with. About five bites or so of food. All I wanted and pretty tasty.

Oh, both of those dinners sound so good! I've never made my own sushi, but there are a couple of places around here that make it that are just terrific!

Whoever thought Indianapolis would be a place to get great sushi? But it is! Really!

My daughter made Fettucini Alfredo with prawns & artichoke hearts & garlic yesterday... so good! I want to pick up some smoked salmon to make sushi. (cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado & basmati rice) dipped in wasabi and soy sauce. I have been craving that, maybe tomorrow.

Had one of the best fried fish sandwiches I've ever had yesterday for lunch. Crispy crust, no oily taste. Yummy.

Made by a local pub. Unfortunately, they allow smoking and even their non-smoking area reeks. I probably won't ever go back because of it.

I really don't think anything would be bad for just one meal. Besides, I think I read somewhere that "the jury" is beginning to change it's mind on the sodium thing. So really, the fun in life is relaxing from time to time, and unless your doc has put you on some super-tight 'you'll die if you eat on mg too much,' everything should be fine!

Mike, most restaurant fair is pretty bad. Just get what you want, eat very slowly -- putting down the fork between bites really does help! -- and stop when you are full.

Otherwise, enjoy yourself!

SD, I got something similar for my dinner tonight. Great minds and all that! emoticon

Seafood batting a zero most of this week.

Got sechwan lobster take-out for dinner yesterday. They used old lobster or something. It just tasted bad. Was half convinced I'd come down with food poisoning, but didn't. Thank goodness!

I posted a link for the team (look for it with the blogs) about the Monterey Bay Aquarium site. They have all sorts of good info about sustainable fish and mercury levels.

I didn't have any fish today. Did the seafood thing in the guise of leftover oyster dressing. Yum! And since it was made with Not Chicken broth, it totally lacked the fat that comes with the stuff made with turkey stock.

I will not be getting my servings of fish this week either. I really don't even try to eat fish every week anymore though. I almost always eat totally vegetarian.

I tried the Morning Star Farms Chick patties and the nuggets! They are really good! I had been afraid to try them in the past. I once bought the fake bacon and had to throw it away; I didn't like it at all. A lady at the grocery talked me into trying the chick patties and nuggets and I am glad I did. I have found another source of protein to eat! :)
I had both of them chopped up over a salad--like a chicken tender salad. I think they would be good to eat most any way. So that is my new thing to try for this past week!

Callie, that fish sounds good! I am sorry it had too much black pepper for your tastes. Hopefully, you can mimic it and have it more in line with your tastes.

Cathy

That sounds really yummy. I've been eyeing something similar at Giant. I'm afraid I'm going to fall short this week. I'll be having scallops tonight, but I know that doesn't count. Unfortunately, since I'll be away 4 days next week at someone's house that hates fish I know I won't get my servings next week either. Bummer.

I got three in.

I was in Whole Foods yesterday and while I was waiting for someone to assist me in another department, I killed some time looking at the fish case.

They had trout fillets (not whole dead fish -- shudder) encrusted with crushed pumpkin seeds and portabello mushrooms. Looked too good to pass up and I've been wanting to try some more sustainable fish.

Like a lot of fish lovers, it's the meaty over fished ones I love. Sigh.

Anyway, I got it and tried it. They used far too much black pepper for my tastes. Love spicy food, but not when it comes from black pepper. But the fish was good and the prep one I'd like to try to imitate sans pepper.

So I tried something new AND got my third fish serving in for the week. Cool!

I had grilled salmon on Monday for dinner and then the leftover salmon on Tuesday for lunch. So I have gotten in my fish for the week. I have been eating some of the Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones dinners with fish lately rather than my grilled salmon. I need to get back to regularly eating salmon.

My fish usually comes from a Starkist tuna pouch. Unless I'm eating at my mom's or at a restaurant. And then I'm very likely to go for seafood versus fish.

Have to work on this. What I really need are different sauces to pour on fish, because just grilled fish gets boring after a time.
