Losing weight is just part of my journey. Most importantly, I need to love myself. I wish that people can see how wonderful each and every one of us are on the inside instead of what our "shell" looks like.
"When life gets you down do you wanna know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming!" ~Dory
well, considering how well you are both doing, i agree as well. i wish that i scale would represent how we felt instead of what we weighed. that way, people would reaalize if it was their weight or their attitudes that were leaving something to be desired. all our problems aren't going to be solved once all the weight we want to lose is gone. there is something else internal that we have to figure out, like you were saying. i admit that i want to look better. still, if we can feel good about ourselves now then it will be easier for us far into the future.
You know something I learned the hard way is nothing comes easy, even self acceptance is hard to come by now a days. So many people search for perfection and fail to see the good in each of us just how we are. I'll admit vanity was a big reason I wanted to lose weight, but more than that I wanted to feel alive again, I wanted to walk with my head held high and know that even if I never reach my goal, NO one will ever be able to say I didn't try!
I think you can accomplish any thing you put your mind to, sometimes it just takes some tough love, and more important, that tough love has to come from within, from ourselves.
