I rode again today, I think I did well, distance wise more so than time wise because I rode in a forest preserve and it was getting close to sundown so they were going to close. Got 35 min. in.

I keep reading that alternating is the best thing anyway. It's easy for some of us to get tired of doing the same thing. Some of us (me anyway) are not regimented enough for that. I shift between doing step aerobics, twisting on the twist board, cycling on the Stride In-Cycle, dancing, and walking.

Because I'm new at this again (I haven't worked out regularly since 1996), it's taking quite a bit for me to motivated to do something daily. But whatever the case, I'm not doing the same thing every day. Can't. Just can't.

Won't be making my 3-day goal but I gave it a good try. Worked 9 hrs and my ankles are all puffy and no gas in the car. I guess someone is telling me I need a day of rest from the gym.

Biking can be extremely hard to get used but before long you will be on the bike daily. :) I love to ride and need to get back. am hoping to Join back into the challenge next month again after 3 months off with tendonitis in my ankle. I need to start training myself using my spinning certification. :) I can do it, it is mind over matter!

I wanted to bike again today but although the mind is willing, the butt isn't cooperating! My entire nether region is sore! So, today I went back to the treadmill. I might just continue to alternate between biking and treadmill.

Well today I did something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I got out my bike, pumped up the tires and went for a ride. I went 40 min. and covered about 6 miles. I know I won't make my goal for the month but it sure was fun getting on that bike again.

Callingx uncle until the new month. August was tough. Started out with a week of vacation, then I was out a full week with a cold or flu. Last week was all catch up and trying to ease back into ecercise in between coughing fits. Looking forward to a fresh start!

Linda, I've had my license for 28 years, I have to take 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years in order to keep it. emoticon

Today I took a continuing education course for my PTA license requirements. The course was Tai Chi for Balance and unlike most boring lecture courses, we did 4 hours of actual Tai Chi. If you don't think Tai Chi is exercise, then you have never done Tai Chi. emoticon

Wow--this week has flown! I have a lot to catch up on.....today was the first day with students and it was fun. I didn't have time for posting, but I DID make sure that I had time for exercising--although not as often as I had hoped. But I'm not giving up!

New to the team....so since I am starting today at the end of August If I am understanding this correctly my goals will be 5/40/400/355 Starting today.

Tonight I completed 2 miles on the elliptical (25 Minutes), and did strength training on my upper body.(20 Minutes)

Yesterday I got in 50 min. on the treadmill and I made sure that I reached my target heart rate. Quite different than I was doing before and I guess I am in better shape than I thought I was.

15 minute 1 mile walk and 20 minutes on elyptocal for cardio and light weight training on machines in fitness center in my complex. that was on monday after work at 8 am. now its tuesday evening and sore as YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!! Today was my first day back at work--ughhhh. Although it WAS fun to see all of the other teachers and staff. I was pretty tired from the change in my routine, but I took my butt to the gym and did my first official AFTER work workout for this challenge. 60 minutes on the treadmill. Yippee!

I DO feel better, Linda. I walked on the treadmill for 62 minutes today. I start back to work tomorrow. I'm excited and bummed at the same time. I am committed to keeping up my workout routine to the best of my ability. I just hope I have the energy once the kids come back next week.

Yay Linda and George! I did my walk today on the treadmill--62 minutes--but I went slower than usual, and without as much of an incline--I hear you about revving things up, George. I just had to force myself to go today. But I am so glad I did.

Today I did 40 min. on the treadmill. I also found that I am not working hard enough, my pulse never went over 100. I have to start increasing my speed and incline more.

Hi everybody--how are you all doing? I did my outside walk on the bike path again--have it down to pretty much exactly 60 minutes. Saw a lot of deer and some groundhogs. Was almost fun. Do any of you think of exercise as fun yet? I'm not quite there.

I start the new school year on Tuesday--so then I will really be joining you in the after WORK challenge--I am going to try to keep my momentum going.

Was super busy yesterday, so no workout, but made up for it today. Besides cleaning the house, doing laundry, vacuuming, etc. etc. I did 64 minutes on the treadmill--3 miles. Yay!!!!

70 minutes walking on the bike path near my house--goes up and down through the woods--wow! my calves are not happy with me--they like the treadmill better, but the heat and humidity were gone today, so I HAD to get outside!

Sorry should have done this yesterday

Basically there are 4 numbers. The first number is the number of days you pledge to workout, the 2nd number is the number of minutes you pledge to workout per day, the 3rd number would be your total for the month and the 4th number is the number of minutes you have remaining. For example:

5/30/500/500 would be workout 5 days a week for 30 minutes at a time and 500 minutes would be the monthly total and you have 500 minutes yet to fulfill your pledge. Then if you worked out a couple of days for 30 min. each time, your numbers would be 5/30/500/440. The 440 is because you've worked out a total of 60 minutes so the last number would drop by 60.
