I did get 55 min at the gym yesterday on treadmill and efx. for a total of 45/6/1500/-397 total of 1897 burned for the month. yay. next month will aim for 2000 or 2500. if I hadn't taken a hiatus this week and not worked out all week, I would have gotten there. Next month with the holidays approaching, need to be focused more than ever.

Hi everyone. I somehow managed to fall off the face of the earth again. Work has been getting a little better slowly. I am more of a happy camper and a little chatter box now instead of extremely crabby and un talkative. My workouts have not been too great this last 2 weeks though. I did a hard workout the Tuesday before last and ended up not being able to walk for the next 2 days. My ankle has still been bugging me a little bit, but I have been extremely lazy and using that as an excuse of not working out. I need to kick my butt into gear and hop back on track this next month again.

My total so far is 45/7/1400/437. Good luck next month everyone.

Well, sorry I've been AWOL. I got a frantic call from my younger daughter on Thursday and had to leave work and drive to San Diego to rescue her from her evil (and dumb as a rock) stepmother. She then spent the next few days at my house and just left yesterday. She was down visiting for a friend's wedding and was gonna stay with Dad cuz it's closer but that was a bad idea apparently.On the other hand, we had a great visit - she came along to my writing group and walked me on Sunday in the Race for the Cure. We had SUCH a good time and really enjoyed ourselves.

And I was a good girl, eating right and getting LOTS of exercise!

Gas_ Sag, sorry the last few days haven't been going so well for you, but you certainly did the right thing trying to exercise the stress and blues away rather than eat. And good for you taking a day of rest!

I did better on eating healthy yesterday than I've done for about 2 weeks. Made it to the gym for 56 min cardio and 20 min strength training.

Hi everyone, it has been another crappy week! For some reason everything was going, Thursday I did not go in to the gym after work because I was just way over tired after working 13 hours. Friday was a horrid day I was in tear's almost all day it was so bad. So after working 12 hours I headed to the gym and swam for an hour. Feeling no better I headed home. When I got home at 10:30 I just felt the need to go for a walk. 5 miles and an hour and 15 minutes later I felt 200% better. Saturday was a wedding dance so I spent over an hour dancing with a little 2 year old. Sunday was a down day I relaxed all day because I just did not want to leave the house. Today I did 49 minutes hip hop and 30 minutes of circuit. My new total is 45/7/1400/888

After being sick last week I hit the gym with a vengance..and it felt great

Knowing that you burn more calories after your metabolism is up and running, I started out with a half hour on the treadmill and then went to the cable cross machine and other upper body workouts.. then to some floor work and a lot of stretching and ended with another half hour on the treadmill

remember...you keep burning calories for a half hour or so after you stop so from now on I'll start and end my workouts with some cardio..

Lucky me. I spent 37 minutes on the elliptical at the gym and came home to find the dog had ripped out a toenail and had bled all over. I spent another 30 minutes scrubbing the carpet and floor. Then I moved furniture and rolled up my Oriental carpet and set up his crate in the family room where there's NO CARPET. We'll sleep out here tonight. And now I'm so tired. And I bet his foot hurts. Poor guy.

Today was a better day, it was all about me because I was off, so I got a quite a bit accomplished. Then took off to the gym did a 50 minute strength class fallowed by a 53 minute cycle class. They felt so great.

I only had a bit of time for the gym tonight so I did a killer workout on the inclined elliptical. Burned almost 500 calories (approx.) in 35 minutes. Whew!

thanks ~~the only thing I've done besides sleep and feed my animals is to make sure and come to spark and log in..
oh.. and I also got a replacement for my shift tonight at work..

as for those little writers.. keep working with them!!

Know I've been MIA for a few days, but I have been getting some exercise in, mostly walking but also some stationary bike and circut training. Eating is still out of control unfortunately.

Today was a little better I had the day off of work. I headed to the gym did a 30 minute strength routine then took a 45 minute hip hop class. Yeiks is all I can say. My new totals are 45/7/1400/1265.

Feel better soon, Jane! The flu is no fun!

I didn't get to the gym today. It's the day I teach my middle school creative writing group. Volunteering has been so rewarding, I told them I'd do it for the next term too! Besides, those kids are terrific writers!!

Oct. 1 30 min treadmill, 20 min EFX = 50 min

Oct. 2 25 min treadmill, 20 min efx= 45 min

Oct. 3 45 min treadmill, 20 min efx, 20 min bike,
19 min TJ video, 31 Min Firm video, 25 CLX video
= 160 min

oct 4 105 min 6 mi walk, and 21 min run = 126 min

Thanks for the pep talk Kali, I am starting to feel a little better, but still not my peppy self!

Last night I got in 30 minutes of strength training & 10 minute bike ride, today I went swimming for 20 minutes.

Wish all I had to do to lose a pound was walk the dog, George. Sigh.

I managed to get to the gym and had a good workout.
Circuit Training for 25 minutes
Cycling for 18 minutes and
Inclined Elliptical Trainer for 25 minutes

Total: 68 minutes

Since I didn't quite meet my September goal, I'm going to keep it the same for October:

Yesterday I got in 42 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of strength training at the gym.

My gym is closed on Sundays, so today I am going to get back on the home treadmill. I injured my knee back in January and have been afraid to get on the treadmill since, although I've been doing other cardio at the gym. I think it will be OK if I don't overdo it. I may also get out the stretch bands for something different.

Pep Talk for Sharleen (and anyone else who needs it):

emoticon OK, my friend, we both know why we're here. Curling up under the covers doesn't get us where we need to be. We both know that eventually we have to throw off those blankets and emerge out into the real world. When we do, we'd like it to be as a slimmer, healthier person.

I know we've both been fighting this battle for a long time. There are days when it feels like we should just give up, have a giant piece of chocolate cake, put out feet up and watch TV. But we know better. We can indulge in a small piece of cake once in a great while, but we both know we need to get off our butts and MOVE to achieve out goals. Even if it's only ten minutes a day, we need to do it. Do something, anything, physical every single day!

You'll notice I've been saying 'we' all along here. That's because neither of us is alone in our battle. We have comrades and friends, sisters and brothers, mothers, fathers, family and acquaintances who are traveling this road with us. If you stumble, one of us will be there to pick you up - all you have to do is ask.

Together, we can make it. Now walk with me. Let's burn a few more calories before this day is over.

Anyone handing out free peptalk's because I sure do need one after the week that I have had. Nothing seems to be going right at all and I just want to curl up in a little ball and hibernate for the winter! No workouts the last two days, hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling a little better and be able to hit the gym again.

It's the 2nd and I haven't done any exercise yet lol. It's cold and rainy outside and on top of that, Chicago, my hometown just got dissed internationally by not getting the 2016 Olympics. I just want to curl up under a warm blanket and sleep a while hehe.

George, congrats on the 9#'s. I seem to have found part of that despite meeting my exercise goal last month. Despite good intentions every morning I tend to blow it by late afternoon as far as my diet goes.

This month I'm going to up my goal a little.

LOL, true Kali, but I need to get more serious about my diet and exercise. The good news is that I am in a family Biggest Loser challenge and have lost 9# in the past 5 weeks and am also on the Purple team in one of the SP Biggest Loser challenges. I just know I can do better if I become consistent at exercise.

Hi everyone I am still around, life just got crazy for a bit so I have not been able to post, but have still been working on getting back on track. Hopefully things will be slower again and I can keep up again at least for a while. My goal is going to stay the same as I am planning ahead for crazy work schedual's and other unexpected things that may come up. Epically since I have not been feeling well the last 3-4 days Allergies have set in again I think!

Wow! October already - where does the time go? This is the thread where we post our exercise goals for the month and then track our progress. Jo has a wonderful post on how to work out your numbers (in case you don't already know) or just ask here. I swear it took me weeks to figure it all out!

I had some illness issues last month and didn't make my goal but I got close. This month I'm aiming for a the same goal which may still be a little lofty: 55/5/1100/1100
