Chris, congrats on the grandchild! I didn't realise you are Chris the hulahooper-photos and runs-alot-Chris ;)
I had already decided today to stick to power walking inclines.
When you say a level 3, what SP % incline would you say that equates too? Was I being to generous tracking it as a 10% inlcine?
Thanks,
Tina

You've probably hit the nail on the head Carl. It's the calories. I eat too many :( I struggle daily to keep my cals below 1500, even when I swig water to try to fill me up. I almost made it today, was starving by dinner, ate dinner (half a plate of veg, sweet poatao and a little gammon) then blew it this evening, I haven't logged everything but I must have eaten 1800.
My food tracker if public, and I know eat the upper end of the carb allowance, the lower end of the protein (not keen on meat), and probably the upper end of the fats.
Note to self: must try harder with my eating.

You didn't mention anything about the type pf food your eating, if your working out 5-7 days a week at least 50 mins a day at a decent elivated heart rate you should be steadily losing, check your water intake daily, calorie intake, you want to make sure you are eating enought calories and of the right kind, at least 12 to 1500 per day at least.

Hi Tina, ok I use to have a mill like yours that you had to manually change the incline. Well on that kind you are only going at about a 3 level on its highest. My mill I now have I can go 12%,yes mountain climbing ok never had do that one yet.. BUT I have lost a total of 148 lbs due to my mill(burned out two mills) I do an incline everyday well the burn is way higher with the incline & the workout is so much better. I didnt do an incline today cause I biked 30 miles on my stationary before I got on my mill.So I didnt even burn close to what I do with the incline & I feel I didnt get a great workout either. So Ill be going on it again today sence its raining and Ill get the cals burned I missed not using the incline... In other words I love it. I have a flat tummy I do crunches hmm twice a week & I only do 100 maybe. SO stay with the mill walking - running, with the incline you will get what you want and look lean too. Oh Stretch before & after too...Also a HEALTHY lifestyle will add to a fast & better weight-loss.. hope I helped.. Have a great day. Team Leader Chris

hi, I have 2 questions about inclines.
I have to manually alter the incline on my treadmill by getting off it,lifting the running part and shifting a lever. Thre are 4 positions: flat, and 3 for an incline.
How does everyone know what a 5, 10 or 15% incline is on their treadmill?
I am assuming that if I move the lever to the 3rd position this is a 10% incline. Do you think I am right?
If so I just burned 500 cals for 50 mins of a fast paced walk:)

Also, I felt the burn more in my thighs, bum and hips when I did this compared to when I jog on the flat at about 2km/h faster.
Which will shift fat better, walking at an incline, or jogging on the flat? You see, since I started SP in May I have been jogging on the flat at least 3 times a week (plus other cardio such as Turbojam) and have been seeing the same 3 lbs go on and off and have lost, at the most, an inch from my upper thigh and that's about it! Ok, so I may have been building muscle, but what I really want to see if a flatter stomach and thinner thighs!
Confused and frustrated, so any pearls of wisdom would be much appreciated!
Tina
