I find doing intervals of running/walking really helps the time fly. It's fun to work on my speed also. Music is a must!

@_Amy_ I used to run only outside. I couldn't stand the thought of running on a treadmill. Then we moved to an area where running outside was difficult. I joined a gym and got on the treadmill. It was hard at first, but, after a while, I adjusted. I couldn't do it without music, though. I have to have my music.

@BECKYANNE1

Thanks, I never thought there would be that much difference in treadmills.

Just a question, how do you keep from being bored on a treadmill?

Ooohhhh that 30 min time limit really gets me going! That led to me quitting my gym and buying my own treadmill. I later joined a different gym that has no time limits. I was so upset when I left the old gym I wrote quite the letter about it. Why should we pay so much per month to have to deal with that. The treadmills at my old gym were programmed to shut down your program at 30 mins- brings back such bad memories of aggravation!! Now I love my home treadmill and I love my gym! emoticon

I will let you know. My husband and I are going to look tonight. I hate the 30 minute time limit, too. I'm just getting warmed up after 30 minutes!

Oh, and for what it's worth, the Sole F-63 had one of the highest weight limits I'd seen for a treadmill of that price. I figured that was a gauge on how durable it would be.

Let us know what you go with. I'm also interested in buying a treadmill because the gym has time limits on theirs which is a big pain for anyone who's doing any real running training.

My Sole F-63 has gone the distance...have owned for several years without a glitch. Got it at Dick's Sporting Goods during a special with 50% marked down to $1,000. This model was pretty favorably reviewed by SP and several other sources.

It has built in fans and speakers for plugging in an mp3 player.

Depends on what you're going to be doing on the treadmill. Not all treadmills are good for running and yes, with treadmills I believe you get what you pay for. If you're going to use it for waking, you should be able to find one in the $800-$900 range. I really wouldn't go under that. We have a Nordic Trac and I wish we would've gone with a better one. It was a $1000 treadmill and it's about 3-4 yrs old. Also note, they are diff. than the ones at the gym. Once you work on one at the gym, it's hard to go back to the one you have at home. Do research and talk with people. Good Luck!

I have a Schwinn treadmill and I absolutely love it. It is very steady and quiet and has a great fan! The programs take some getting used to but there are a lot of them. It cost me around 1200$ 3 years ago. If you love using a treadmill and plan to use it often it is definitely worth the money getting quality!

I've thought about buying a treadmill for a while. My gym closing just closed the deal for me. The only thing I do at the gym, which is probably bad, is run on the treadmill. I figure, why drive someplace to use the treadmill when I could use one at home?

I would like to see what your answers will be. I bought a used treadmill for $75. I hated it. Too loud. It was probably cheap to start with.

I have a free Anytime Membership till the end of this year. Maybe I better get with it and use it.

My gym closed earlier this week and I don't really want to join another one. I'm going to buy a treadmill for my house, which I know I will use. Does anyone have any suggestions for me as far as make and model? My budget cap is $1000, but I would like to stay under that, if possible, while still getting a quality machine. All thoughts and opinions are welcome. Thanks for your help!
