I game. :p
FWIW: I have taken the same approach, since all my cardio involves my legs (treadmill, spinning, elliptical, cx skiing), I've focused on arms and core during strength training.
Works for me! :-)

I would say you still need lower body strength training

You still need to incorporate lower body into your routine. Do 2:1 upper body/core to lower body/core since you are working your legs so often. Adding lower body strengthing will work your muscles differently than the elliptical.

I'm currently using sparkcoach and it says for weight loss you should have at least two days of strength training. I'm wandering if I can focus on upper body and core on those two days, as long as I do at least 25 minutes on the elliptical. Will the elliptical every day be enough lower body strength training? I plan to do at least 25 minutes every day, and lately I've been doing at least 40. Also, I use the programs on the elliptical with varying resistances and speeds in intervals. Can I just add upper body and core strength training, or should I add lower body too?
