Lack of potassium ? Try eating a banana a couple hours before workout, see if that helps.

One of the only things hindering me from running longer and faster are these horrible cramps I get right beneath my rib cage! I purposely hydrate all day before running and stop about an hour before. I only sip during workouts because in the past, the water would make the cramps occur way more often.

Anyway, any tips on how to avoid these?
