hmm interesting, I had not heard they were planning to phase them out, since they just came out with them, maybe we are talking about 2 different PreCor machines, yes you can cycle in reverse with the ones we have. As a PT I would never recommend using a machine that causes pain, and in the end it is about what works for you, so if you've tried it and it does not work for you, it hurts..then I agree, you should not use it. Good Luck with finding a machine that works for you...IAM

I did some research after posting today and found out that the crossramp is considered outdated and Precor intends to phase it out. The site also rates a lot of ellipticals, which is great. I won't go on the machine again - I'll probably end up going to a different gym in a couple of months or buying one when I save up some cash. No matter how I set it, it caused problems with my feet. I didn't even see if you can go backwards on it like on regular elliptical.

We just did a post on the new PreCor Elliptical Crosstrainers - about a week ago...called PreCor Elliptical trainers back - check it out, you should find a lot of information there. These machines are high end. I work at a Fitness Club, and we show our clientele how to use this machine properly, safely and to get the most benefit. Ask your club personnel to show you proper use.

I just moved back near my old gym, so started going there. They now have these Precor ellipticals with crossramps. It felt like my arches were being compressed and I was putting all my weight on the front of my feet, so I tried lowering the crossramp (to a 2!) and my heels became so sore on top of the arch problem that I had to quit after 15 minutes.

Anyone use these? Is there any way to get them to feel like a regular elliptical? Has anyone else had these problems?
