Good afternoon. We may get rain later this afternoon or evening and I think it's suppose to get windy again. I feel better today and even went up and rode the bike for 30 min. and then did my knee exercises. I gathered up some things I want to take to the clothing bank, but will take them tomorrow, DD is stopping by after her doctors appointment this afternoon.

Here is the picture of both of us and Mason from Sunday.

Nancy hope you get everything made that your working on, your machine is getting a workout. I wonder what your trainer has up his sleeve for Thursday.

Wanda hope the wind didn't knock all your fruit off your trees. Hope that bite gets to feeling better.

Candi hope DH's test went well and you get some answers. No, DH had the exact same food as I did, it might just have been the weather again.

Wishing all a good Wednesday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Just popping in to say hi and then back to the sewing machine. I've had a little bit of difficulty with my tendonitis in my shoulder, so that is slowing me down and now I only have 2 more days to complete all my sewing projects.

Wanda, you are having some crazy weather up there! Hope your plants have weathered the weather okay.

Candi, prayers for good news for your husband.

Everyone, enjoy your Wednesdays!

Good Morning all,

The winds have died down a bit, we are not in danger of re-locating at the moment. Wow, they have been crazy...upwards of 100km an hour. I haven't had a chance to check out my fruit trees. They are still standing which is good, but whether they still have fruit on them I'm not sure. At least we were by passed with the massive hail that seems to have hit around us. We have just gotten the rain and wind.

That crazy bug bite I got on the back of my neck is about the size of a dime now. It's not itchy but it burns. I think if was some type of wasp (not a black fly, I've had those, they are not nice either). I woke up with a headache this morning and hoping that it gently passes on. It's been pretty warm for sleeping at night and with the winds, you can't open the window too much for the breeze. Ahhhh, summer.

Candi...thinking of you and your hubby as you head out for his tests. Hope you finally get some answers. I need to get out in my garden and see what has survived this last couple of wind days. That is the nice thing about raised garden beds...I don't seem to have as much of a battle with weeds as I used to.

Nancy...good luck with the sewing projects. What a blessing that you are so talented and enjoy making your own clothes.

Shirl...I can't believe that we are 1/2 way through 2017 already. Time seems to have increased it's speed lately. Personally...I think it's connected to the wind...it's just blowing right past us *grin*.

Kathryn, Kathy, Mauri, Donna, Trace, Irene and anyone else that pops by...enjoy your day.

Time for me to get ready to head out the door.

Hugs,
Wanda

We will be up and out of here by 7:30 in the morning, no coffee so that hospital had best have a supply handy. Can't go around the bay as they are gearing up for the Cherry Fest the next 2 weeks or so. Have to wind our way around the back roads. We had sun and temps got into the low 70's this afternoon, spent the day working out with Jessica Smith and on the treadmill, paying the monthly bills, getting our clothes ready for the A.M. and doing a bit of weed pulling (where do they all come from) while DH cut the grass. grilled brats and baked potatoes with green beans and onions for dinner. Now for a shower and a relaxing evening.

Shirl, is anyone else feeling "funny" after that meal? it was 44 this A.M. but got up to low 70's this afternoon. Baby Mason looks like he is settling in just fine. Thank you for the good wishes with DH's test, we are hoping the same.

Wanda, we lost most of our apples that we can see during a wind storm last week, guess my sauce apples will come from the fruit stand this year, happy Canada Day, when we lived down state and the 4th came about the same as your holiday they had fireworks from both sides of the Detroit River, really cool. Its great when we can shut down the furnace for a few months, and as soon as it gets warm enough here we will.Could that bug bite be a Black Fly, DH gets large welts and it itches like crazy when he gets one.

Kathy, when did the rash start, any change in food, drink or meds? DH got the rash 2 times, both after taking the ZZZquil , the 1st Dr gave him the steroid but we didn't know what caused it, it wasn't until the second time he took it that we put 2 + 2 together and tossed the crap. good luck with the rash.

Nancy Trainers can be really brutal sometimes can't they. I would not subject my 71 year old legs to anyone out side of my house, not from the knees up at least. Sticking with my capris and Bermudas .

Time for that Shower so have a great evening everyone, let you all know when we hear something.

It's Tuesday and I have received my proper "beating up" at the hands off my trainer. I called him a Dothraki today. He got the reference because he has seen Game of Thrones. (Dothraki are a tribe of savages) One more class left for this season on Thursday. He says he has a surprise in store for my classmate and me. I can hardly wait. I think I'm going to see if I can get a picture with him on Thursday for fond remembrances!

The sewing continues to perk along. I'm heading into my sewing space after this to finish a jumper that I will call a "garden gown". I'll see if I can't take a picture of it when it's finished. So far the only piece that is completely finished is a pair of capris that I sewed 2 years ago that I remodeled into shorts. I have two other capris into shorts projects that I am in the process of hemming up. I just got tired of capris. My legs need to see the light of day! When the "garden gown is completed, I am cutting out a tunic and pants for my daughter. My daughter sent me a text and asked if I could make her something like this outfit, so anything for my baby girl. That's the next project, but both pieces will be out of the same fabric and a bit darker color. (Using fabrics that I have on hand.)
Okay. I'm off to the races. Great to read about you all today. Have a great one!

~Nancy~

Good afternoon. It looks like it's only going to be in the low 70's today, it was 51 when I got up this morning. The weather is really causing me problems, I wish it'd just straighten up so I'd feel better, oh well, that's life. Have chicken thighs cooking in the slow cooker for supper tonight.

Wanda that's nice your doctor will work with you on figuring out how to keep things going for you over the summer. It's hard to believe it's almost the 4th of July. Our first summer concert is Thursday, July 13, and it will be Billy Mack and The Juke Joint Johnnies, I really like this group, Billy puts on a great show, glad him and his guys are the first to open the season, they play rockabilly and 50's music. A.J. will be away at camp so he'll miss the first concert.

Kathy hope it can get figured out which medicine is causing the problem, that would be hard to figure out if you're on a lot of different ones.

Irene, Kathryn, Nancy, Mauri, Trace, Candi, Donna and anyone else, hope all are having a good Tuesday!

Hugs,

Good Morning Sparkies...

Wanda - I'm glad you got to visit with Quin Laren and the little ones. And yes the kids just grow so fast anymore. Especially when we don't get to see them all the time.
Good luck with your time off on the Acupuncture. Hope it's helped enough to get you through while you get your eyes checked. You are right we need to see. lol
Just read that you had a good assessment with the Dr. That is great news. Congrats to you.

Nancy - Sounds like you are on a role with the sewing. How are them shifts coming out? They sound cool for the summer. Especially out in AZ. Wow you all picked a very hot place for a family reunion. But it does sound like a lot of family fun. Enjoy!

Candi - I'm sitting here thinking what the heck medication do I stop taking first, to see if I'm allergic to it. I'm on too many meds that is for sure. I'm thinking I need help with it all. But then that create a problem as well. My PCP is no help with anything. I need a new one for sure. So I'm thinking maybe that is the route I should go. My head starts spinning when I get to thinking about all this. hehehe
Good Luck with DH's MRI. I get mixed up sometimes. hehehe Sorry. I also have CRS (Can't Remember S**t or Stuff) hehehe

Shirl - I saw the pics of you and Clenton holding baby Mason. He's so sweet. And looks very healthy now that he has put on weight. Prayers that he continues to be healthy.
And wow that was one powerful cookie you all split. hehehe Must of had lots of sugar that knocked you out. Hope you are ok today. Feel better.

Not much happening here today. I haven't been feeling good each day so have put off doing grocery shopping for days. So need to do that today. I've hurt my foot somehow... ( I remember something falling on it but can't tell you what. Sheesh. But it's swollen for 3 days or so now. It only hurts a little so I've been ignoring it. hehehe I've got enough problems I don't want anymore of them. hehehe But if something is wrong with my foot... I'm all set on braces and boots and know what to do So won't need a Doc this time. hehehe

Have a great day everyone...

Kathy

Good Morning all,

The Thunderstorm watches that occurred yesterday really didn't amount to much more than crazy winds and a bit of rain. The wind is going to have me fiercely upset if it blows my poor little apples and pears off their respective trees! It is absolutely insane that amount of wind we have been having. Very overcast this morning so not sure what the day includes.

Shirl...love the pictures of Mason and all of you. What a bundle of delight he is. I'm sure that Kayleigh is thrilled to have him at home now.
It sounds like we have one of those rare occasions where our long weekend falls on the same weekend. Canada day is on Saturday and your July 4th is on Tuesday.

Nancy...sounds like their could be some big changes happening in your family dynamics! Enjoy your time together with family. How wonderful that you can all get together like that.
The time is going by so fast and soon you will be off to Hawaii. Good luck with all your sewing.

I had my reassessment done yesterday and I'm thrilled to say that I have registered an improvement of 68% in the past 12 weeks. I am determined to reach that 100% mark. Had a great chat with my doctor and we worked out a deal and schedule to help keep me on track over the next 6 months. Because I can still put in a claim for massage, we have decided to include that and drop back on some of the acupuncture as a way to afford to keep on going.
I need to make my eye appointment yet and get a handle on what expense I might have there also. On the plus side, car insurances and licensing is all done now and heating costs are down as the furnace is off for the summer. God continues to provide so will not complain.

I got a strange bug bite on the back of my neck Sunday evening. It landed on my neck and wiped it off, but it must have bitten me in the process as I have a huge welt that has developed now. It's not itchy unless I happen to rub it with the neck line of my tops. Have no idea what did the biting but not impressed!

Irene...thank you for the challenge today...it's a great one. Enjoy your vacation.

Have a great day all,
Hugs,
Wanda

Good evening. We had a brief shower this morning as we were leaving to go get DH's haircut, then this evening we had another brief shower. It doesn't feel like the last of June, we're going down to high 40's tonight. I had a weird afternoon, we had lunch at Arby's and we both ate the same thing, we split a salted caramel cookie and after I ate that I started feeling funny, came home and laid down and it was like I had taken something to make me sleep, I slept the whole afternoon, it could have been the crazy weather again.

Didn't go to the open house as Kayleigh, Henry and little Mason stopped by for a visit. Will post pictures below.

Holding our little great grandson, Mason.

Our oldest DD, Alicia, holding her grandson, Mason.

I'll have to post the picture of Clenton holding him later, I thought I'd downloaded the picture, but hadn't.

Nancy hope you get all your sewing done for your trip. It's hard to believe it's almost time to celebrate the 4th of July. It sounds like you are going to have a wonderful time of being with family.

Wanda glad you and Kaeli could go visit Quin, Lauren and family. I know what you mean about glasses, I keep getting reminders that it's time for me to make an eye appointment, but this just isn't a good time, we have car insurance and tags for the car coming up, I may get my eyes checked but if I need new lenses they'll have to wait till later.

Kathy sorry your arms and legs are giving you trouble, hope you can get them cleared up, I don't blame you for wanting to postpone your procedure.

Irene staying where you can fix your own meals is a wonderful thing, sure better than eating all your meals out, so much more healthier, very good planning. Enjoy your time away with your son, Mike.

Candi hope you can get your camper all ship shape for your excursion. Prayers DH's test goes well and more questions can be answered.

Kathryn, Donna, Trace, Mauri and anyone else that may stop by, hope all are having a good Monday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Evening everyone hope your all well, we had rain most of the day so no outside work. Think I got out for about 2 minutes to take the compost bowl out, just made it in the door when the down pour started. Temps didn't get out of the 50's, it was 53 when we got up at 6:30 and by dinner it was all of 57. Got in a lower body circuit work out with Jessica Smith and so far about 6 miles on the TM.

Irene, I think that to be a weather person you need to take a class on fibbing with a straight face. Enjoy your trip and be good, but not too good.

Wanda yeah seeing is kind of important I think, just got new spec's about a month ago, no change so just got an extra pair.

Kathy Sorry your arms are still giving you problems, sounds like you may be allergic to something just like DH's rash was something he took to sleep when he couldn't take OTC pain meds for 6 weeks. His MRI isn't until weds. at 9 am, we have to be in town by 8:30 am. More then likely hear by Fri. as Dr. K's has a pit bull for a nurse.

Nancy, I find working out at home is better for me as there are less distractions and DH knows better to bother me during a work out. Have a safe trip and enjoy your family get together, it really sounds like one of mine. We used to rent cottages on a lake back when our kids where younger with a couple of family and friends for a week in July. It was always nice.

Heading to the shower, hugs to all and good night.

Happy Monday to all. I have a lot of sewing to accomplish before Thursday night. I'm leaving Friday morning for a Fourth of July celebration in Arkansas with family. Oldest son is flying to Arkansas from Seattle. He is introducing us to his new lady friend that he met on his Alaska cruise. She is flying in from Miami Florida. That will be interesting. Daughter Mary and her husband are coming from Colorado. One of my sisters from NY and her family will be there and they are bringing my mother. And my Arkansas sister's family is going to be there. Our youngest son is bringing his girlfriend to introduce to the family as well. Big doings. So I'm going to be getting ready for that trip this week. I say this in case I don't pop my head in here. I'm leaving Friday and returning next Wednesday. And then I'm going to be getting ready for my trip to Hawaii to see son #2 and his wife.

My last two classes at the gym are this week. Now I have to figure out how to work out at the gym on my own. Not as easy to be self directed!

Irene, your holiday sounds lovely. I'm picturing a very romantic countryside.

Kathryn, I hope you had good success at the thrift shop.

Shirl, I am so glad to hear that little Mason is out of the hospital and with his family.

Kathy, I am concerned about your rash. I hope it's not a side effect of your meds. That will be tricky to unravel that mystery. Hope it clears up.

Wanda, when I read about how you have to prioritize your health spending, it hit a chord with me. I guess it's just the way of things, unless you're a multi-millionaire. Having to stop acupuncture may really highlight how well it has worked for you. Good luck. I think you're right about taking care of your eyes. They're important.

Candi, I hope that your camping is providing much peace and serenity. We used to rent a cabin on a lake for the month of July and this year I am missing it. It was so nice to be on a more relaxed schedule and being closer to nature. Oh well. Not in the cards right now. Enjoy.

Did I get every one? If I didn't I'm sorry. I hope to pop in on my breaks and see how everyone is doing. Have a great Monday.

~Nancy~

Good Morning all,

We had a blustery and hot weekend. Garry stayed home yesterday to try and get some much needed chores done. Kaeli and I drove to see Quin and family. It was a long day as we left in morning and came back about supper time. It sure was great to see everyone. It's hard to believe that our little Imogen is 5 already!

Not sure what the weather is planning on doing today as it is very overcast, the wind is blowing like crazy yet the forecast is for plus 29 temperatures. On the plus side...I will be working indoors in an AC building if the temps get that high.
I'm just grateful that we don't live in Arizona with their incredibly hot temps.

Shirl...so happy to see and hear that baby Mason is now at home and doing so well. Love the pictures of you and Clenton getting to hold him. What a wonderful blessing. I hope all continues to go well for them.

Candi...hope your hubby's test goes well and good luck getting your holiday trailer all ready to take on the road.

Irene...touring around the country sounds like a lovely time. Enjoy those excursions. Wales and Scotland are two countries that I would love to have the opportunity to explore.

Kathryn...How did your thrift store shopping go? Did you find some great treasures?

Kathy...I hope they can figure out what is causing your arms and legs to break out. That is good that they were willing to postpone your hospital time. It does sound like you are reacting to something that you are taking. Have you got an aloe vera plant that you can use on your arms and legs to help with the healing.

Nancy...I lent my sewing machine to my DIL to use seeing as I haven't used it in far too long. Mine was probably so angry with me for ignoring it that it probably wouldn't have run!

I have reached the end of another 6 week session of acupuncture and go today for an assessment. I would love to continue, but am going to have to postpone any more sessions at least until fall as I need to get eyes tested and I'm pretty sure that it is going to result in me needing new glasses. Not an inexpensive change for sure. But I'm thinking it is more of a priority to see than to have acupuncture at this point. I will continue to follow the plan as closely as possible with maybe just the odd treatment tossed in over then next little bit. Mainly so that I don't loss any ground that I've gained.

Have a great day everyone,
Hugs,
Wanda

Good Morning Sparkies...

Happy Monday!

I was thinking yesterday and decided to call the doctor for the procedure I was going to have this morning. We both decided that since my arms are so sore it would be best to postpone the procedure for another time. I didn't need to be in the hospital with these itchy sore arms and all the germs and sick people to get me arms infected. So that was a relief. hehehe
I've had this problem with my arms for so long and had just gotten them all cleared up several weeks ago and then they started again. And my leg started now as well.
So I will call the Dermatologist and try to get in to see her asap. I really think I'm allergic to something my med's most likely. The NP said we may need to take a good look and see what we can do.

Shirl - I saw that Baby Mason got to go home. I'm so happy for them. Hope that you are feeling better today. Did you get out yesterday afternoon to the Graduation? Feel better my friend.

Irene - Oh how nice it must be to visit all the area's around there. Good for you keeping the diet as best you can. It's hard to do some days so forgive yourself and go on. Enjoy you time out and about.

Candi - We had a big motorhome that gave us all kinds of problems after sitting as well. Good luck and hope you don't break the bank. hehehe On the plus side... that camper will be ready to take on any other places you want to go this year.
When do you hear about DH's MRI? Sending prayers for him.

Wanda - How are things with you? Did you have a good weekend?

Kathryn, Nancy, Donna, and anyone else I've forgotten... Have a great day.

Hello on Monday I am having an hour early mornings on mail . No passports needed for Wales as its part of Uk. England. Scotland .Wales and North of Ireland is all United Kingdom though each area is different .
Wales is mountains ,valleys and coast .
We relaxed and settled in over the weekend. Today is exploring a hit along the coast.
Mainly my son and I are eating in the apartment but it's flexible , I am trying to stay on my own healthy eating plan as much as possible with a few lapses., I am determined to get right back to routine once I am home .
Today's positive thought. The weather forcast says unsettled, with heavy showers . But forecasts casts aren't always right , how we enjoy the day is up to us

Evening everyone, hope your all having a great week end. We have spent the last few days getting the 18ft. tow behind camper ready to go in mid July. Its been about 3 years since we have taken it out of the yard so it needed some tlc, a but more then we thought. First we had to replace the water pump, then get the gas tank filled and DH thinks we may need to replace the gas regulator as the gas doesn't seem to be flowing as it should even after blowing out the lines. This may be the most expensive camping trip we have ever taken. At least the tires didn't need replacing. Have also been getting in a few extra miles on the TM since DH has that MRI on the 28th and won't get in a lot of steps that day. If he's up to it will get in some grocery shopping after the test.We get as much done in the a.m. as we can as he is wiped out by lunch and ready for a nap. Worked in a light drizzle this morning and just as we came in for lunch mother Nature opened up the sky's.

Irene Friday's dinner sounds fantastic, I have never had lamb in any same or form but it sounds great. And what a great place to visit, do you need a passport to go over to Wales? We need one now to go over to Canada since 9/11, used to be able to go back and forth with just a stop at the border but not any longer.Cooking for yourselves is a great way to keep to your food plan and all that exploring is great for working it off. Enjoy your trip and the time with your son.

Kathy, that camping trip comes up in mid July for a week, hopefully we get the camper back in shape with out breaking the bank. Sorry your back is giving you problems, hope it feels better soon.

Nancy, If your sewing machine has hurt feelings after only a year mine probably won't even come out of the cabinet as its been at least 3-4 years since its seen the light of day. Dark nasty weather can really get you in the dumps, but the sun will return.

Shirl, Rain has moved in and out most of the day, we worked on the tow behind in a drizzle most of the morning and just as we came in for lunch the sky's opened up and we got dumped on. But the sun has come out with temps up to 71 and a few fluffy clouds up there. Hope you enjoyed the open house. And Welcome home Mason, be a good boy for your Mommy and Daddy.

Kathyrn, My niece post on FB a picture of her "baking" cookies on her car dashboard, said it was so hot her stirring wheel melted along the top. She lives in Arizona not sure where abouts but I think south she is always posting pictures of her and her DH's hiking trips in the mountains and all the critters they run across. Enjoy your shopping trip. love the quote.

Good afternoon. It's a cool, cloudy, windy one here, it says 68, but doesn't feel like 68. I did not feel well yesterday, some better today but debating on staying home or going to a great, great nephews graduation open house, my niece from up north will be there and I liked to see her, but just don't know, the open house is at a hotel from 1-5 so I still have time if I decide to go.

Mason got to come home yesterday, his mama is so happy.

Kathy good luck with that prepping for tomorrows procedure, the darn prep is worse than the procedure. Except for a couple hot spells June has been a pretty cool month and the windiest one I can remember.

Kathryn hope you find some good buys on your shopping trip.

Wishing all a blessed and serene Sunday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Good Morning Sparkies...

Shirl - Your weather sounded like ours with that rain and then it's gone again. hehehe Hope Clenton didn't get to wet out on the patio. hehehe I'm with you and going with the flow today. I start my prep at 5 Pm for my procedure tomorrow morning. Ugh... Can't wait. hehehe
Enjoy your Sunday...

Nancy - Too funny. I agree that your sewing machine is just mad at you for not using it for a long time. Mine would do the same. So frustrating when it messes up when you are trying to sew. Good luck with it.
Stay dry... Glad that T.S. Cindy didn't hit your area.

Irene - Your vacation sounds very nice. I would love to visit that area sometime... it's on my Bucket list. hehehe Enjoy your time there...

Kathryn - Good luck getting back on track. You did seem to do good when you were daoing that fasting. Have fun shopping.

Have a great day everyone... I won't be here tomorrow for sure so behave yourself... I'll Be Back... hehehe

Irene enjoy your vacation

Early morning for me, got up at 5 am. I have already written a blog. I am trying to get back into the swing of being a positive blogger. I have gotten down the habit of posting a positive quote when I get on Spark now I want to get into the habit again of posting positive blogs at least 3 times a week. I want to get my streak going again.

I have plans for today. Our caretaker-M is coming today, not her usual day, but am happy she is coming. I am heading off to an other town to a big thrift store. A friend who owed me money paid it and I have a little extra to enjoy. I love thrift shopping. The last time I went I found a matching small white shelf with pink roses on it. One shelf is holding my smallest turtles the other small animals. I have both shelves in my office niche in the bedroom.

Positive quote-Your body will not change if you don't learn to build a strong mind

Hello on Sunday .i am in my holiday apartment now by the coast in Wales , it's a small country in its own right with its own language but is part of UK
There's a lot of history here .you girls would love the castles, I am enjoying the calmness of an early Sunday morning sat by the window looking at at a calm grey sky and sea, it's the Irish Sea between the .Welsh coast and Ireland ,
We (my son Mike and I ) are going exploring later and need to buy some food. We rented and apartment for a week, and looking after ourselves
Enjoy your day. Irene

Hello all ((hug))

Yesterday was a supper rest day except for my long morning walk. I went out in the early morning because it was 106 yesterday. Today will be cooler only 96. It is cool enough in the apartment with the AC on and all ceiling fans blowing. I'm eating light today as it is a fast day, only 500 calories. My nutritionist suggested I go back on it after he did some reading up on it. I don't go without eating or drinking and don't binge on the next days.

Good afternoon, I was here this morning trying to post and something happened and it said page not available, so here I am trying again. Just going with the flow today.

Nancy hope you can fix the problem so you don't have to take your sewing machine to the repair shop.

Kathy hope your back and neck get to feeling better, hope the heat will work.

Kathryn yeah on getting the bike set up, the seat should be adjustable.

Irene nice way to start off your week's vacation, enjoy.

Candi we have sun, but just a little while a go DH was sitting out on the patio and we had one of those very short burst of rain, then the sun came back out, now DH's back out on the patio.

Wanda, Donna, Wyndy, Mauri, Trace and anyone else who just might pop in, have a great Sat.

Hugs,
Shirl

It's a dark, gray. rainy day here. It's funny how gloomy weather can sap your motivation. I am almost finished with my first sewing project. My machine is running better, but still having a few issues. So, I'll be sewing along and all of a sudden the thread will catch and the seam will start to pucker up. Argh! But, I have a few more things to try before I figure it needs to go to the repair shop. Perhaps it's just giving me grief because I have ignored it for about a year. Like I hurt it's feelings and it's not going to let me off that easily!

So all that is on the agenda for this gloomy day is more sewing and some household chores. Not very exciting. I feel bad for dear hubby. When he has a free weekend and the weather is crappy, it's a real disappointment for him. And the forecast is for more of the same tomorrow.

I hope that you all have a very lovely weekend. And I'm off to create a lovely weekend here.

Good Morning Sparkies...

Happy Saturday to you all.

I haven't been feeling well. Mostly the back and neck. I have my herbal bag heated up on on my neck as I type. I used to massager yesterday and the day before and today woke with it stiff. So hoping the warmth will help it feel better.

Enjoyed reading your post ladies. Sounds like everyone is doing well.

Shirl - Congrats to Clenton for not having to get injections this time and that the one eye was 100%. Great news for sure.

Wanda - Hope you can make it to visit with Quin and family this weekend. Enjoy!

Irene - Sounds like you are doing well with your eating while you are on Vacation. Enjoy!

Donna - Nice to hear from you. We all understand that sometimes life happens and you just have to step back from the computer. Good luck getting your house back together. Crack that whip and get the contractor moving. hehehe

Nancy J - Good luck getting your sewing machine working right. I need to oil mine too. I always forget. But I don't use it very much. WTG on your exercising.

Kathryn - Glad you have that bike set up. Hope DH uses it. It will halep make him stronger. Speaking of that I need to use mine too. ugh... hehehe

Candi - Is this the weekend that you are taking the camper somewhere else? I've lost track now. If so Have a good time.

I will be MIA for a couple days. I will try to pop in tomorrow and say hi but if I don't it's because of the prep for my procedure on Monday morning. Wish is was over with... hehehe

Have a wonderful day everyone...

A quick hello early Saturday. We started our weeks vacation last evening with eating out at our local pub/ restaurant. Pubs in Uk now are more eating than drinking .since the drink drive laws came in . Pubs had to start concentrating on food. I had a minted lamb burger with salad and took the bread off the burger . I am seeing if I can eat out now for a week withouta big weight gain. Had no dessert and we walked there and back. Not a bad start.
Enjoy your weekend. Irene

Rain stopped and sun came out about lunch time, after my run/walk after lunch I went out to clean out some freebie wild daisy's that self seeded in my "bird bath" bed, if I planted the d---things they more then likely wouldn't have come up. They where mixed in with my Johnson Blue/Spiders Wort bed, pulled them all up and hopefully they won't come back. But not holding my breath on that one. DH made pasta and meat sauce for dinner, along with the spinach salad and fresh green beans it made a great meal, and another for a few days from now.

Nancy would you like to come up and look at my sewing machine, seems it doesn't work like it should. Oh yeah its not the machine its the person running it, she hates sewing. Be safe with all that bad weather out there.

Wanda, when I can't be outside I'm on my TM or "pacing" the floors, DH says I going to ware a path in the new carpeting.

Shirl, love home made frozen yogurt, my favorite is mixed berry. don't use the AC much as it doesn't like me and I don't like it. End up sick every time I spend a lot of time in it.

Kathryn, Don't beat yourself up on the diet, just do the best you can. Never fast or skip a meal its not a great idea. You may be eating more the next day to compensate. Should eat at least 3 meals a day, even light ones are better then none. Good luck.

Have a great week end everyone emoticon to all. Good Night everyone emoticon

YEAH IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!

We have the exercise bike all set up. I used it this morning and see that the seat is set to high for me. Hubby is the one that will be using it most as I can get out and take a walk for my exercise. With the heat I go in the mornings.
Have not been doing good on my eating program. Today starts the beginning of week three in my diet journal. My weight is up 1.3 pounds. I gave myself a stern talking to and am getting on program. I do better when I plan and am doing that. I am also doing two fasting days a week and one cheat meal. I really want to take off at least 10 pounds before the end of the year.

Happy Friday everyone. I'm working on a pot of vegetable soup and then I'm going back in to work on my sewing machine. I've got a few more tricks left to try. Not ready to throw in the towel yet.
Some sunshine here and plenty of humidity.
Have a great day everyone and an even better weekend.

Good morning. We've had a wet one here, liking the cooler temps and right now the humidity isn't bad so leaving the AC off for now. I made one of those frozen yogurt recipes this morning, takes frozen bananas, peanut butter, Greek yogurt and mini SF chocolate chips, it's in the freezer now, will have a some for dessert at lunch, we both taste tested just a little and it's good. I've found a good use for my small food processor. This leaves me two recipes left to try.

Wanda hope you get some time to just sit and relax on your back deck and listen to those ocean breezes. I am thinking the summer concerts will start sometime after July 4th, I think they are starting them later this summer for some reason. Margaret and I are looking forward to them and so is A.J. He'll be away at camp July 9 through July 15, he's really looking forward to his time away, he always has a good time. Hope you can make it to visit Quin, Lauren and family.

Nancy hope an oil job will help your sewing machine, sometimes I forget how long it's been since I last did that type of maintenance to my machine, partly cause I don't sew much anymore. Glad Cindy didn't cause problems for your area.

Candi it looks like we're in for a rainy day, I don't mind when it keeps the temps down along with the humidity, may have to turn the AC back on if that humidity rises today. Does DH have anymore test coming up?

Donna nothing wrong with taking a break from the computer, but we do miss you when you are gone. Sometimes I try and cut back, I'll log in and come here and track my fitness but skip some of the other stuff.

Irene hope you have a wonderful time with your son on your week away, we'll be missing you but eager to here about your week away.

Kathy, Kathryn, Mauri Trace, Wyndy and anyone else that may stop in, have a fab Friday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Good Morning everyone,

So wonderful to get up this morning and see sunshine. We still have some gusty winds, but the sunshine is wonderful.

I have a busy day on my day off...some errands to take care of, acupuncture and the garden needs some tending. We are hoping if all things work out to make a quick trip to Quin and Lauren's on the weekend. It may be a day trip so will have to see what happens with Garry and his work.

Donna...nice to see your post this morning. I hear you about that fact that sometimes the computer just needs to take a back seat. Hope all is well with you also.

Candi...I've been doing all my walking indoors these past few days as it has been just to miserable outside to go walking. I think I am wearing a path *grin*.

Shirl...Your outdoors concerts should be starting up soon. Love hearing who is playing.

Nancy...good luck getting your machine all working smoothly once again. Glad to hear that "Cindy" is not giving you too much grief.

Kathy...how you doing?

Kathryn...did you get your bike all set up?

Trace...hope all is well with you also.

Have a great weekend all,

Hello!

I almost missed today!. Today was gym day. I woke up later than usual, just in time for class. When I got home I was whipped! The trainer pushes us hard! I told him that my muscles always feel like limp spaghetti when we're done and his reply was "Good. That means you're working them." And then it takes me all day to recover! Sewing is not going well. Still having technical difficulties. So now I'm going back to square one. Gonna clean and oil my machine and get it running right before I proceed. Slowing me down, but I'll get there eventually. I'm going back to it for an hour before I go to bed.

No weather difficulties here. More trouble in Louisiana and Alabama than here. Grateful for that.

Have a good sleep and hope to see you tomorrow.

PS Donna, nice to see you.

We have had rain most of the day, those web feet are coming back I can just feel my shoes getting tighter. Spent the day washing clothes and doing some light house work, I'd rather be out in the garden. Did get in 5 miles on the treadmill over the day, speaking of which great going Kathryn on the bike purchase, put it by a window so your not looking at a wall while using it. Irene have a great time on your trip, I like your sons attitude about packing, if you don't bring what you need just buy more, love clothes shopping. Wanda I did a bit of planting, just a few hostas, and washed the windows between rain storms but enjoyed the time away. The good thing about all this rain is you don't need to shovel it. Nancy I envy all you ladies your sewing talents, I'm lucky to get a button to stay on. Kathy we went to the local polish fest a few years back and I ordered a Rubin sandwich and they used canned corned beef, won't make that mistake again for sure. I personally have never seen a mermaid but fully believe they are out there, you just need to believe. I know how important those tapes and old movies are of loved ones we have lost, my friend Kathy has a voice mail message on her cel that her DH left for her a few weeks before he died and she listens to it a lot. Would be heart broken if it was deleted. Shirl sounds like your DH's eyes are improving a bit, my fingers are crossed. Donna I know how you feel about the computer, I do not need to be connected 24/7. We need a life away from gadgets.

Night all, talk later. emoticon

Almost time to get some lunch started. We went to the store this morning, but no rain, they said we might have a morning storm but maybe it's waiting till this afternoon.

Wanda our weather has calmed down a little, it's breezy today, but at least not those strong, gusty winds, it's suppose to get more humid today, so may have to turn the AC back on, it's been nice not having to have it going and having our windows open.

Kathy must be that tropical storm is stirring things up down there.

Hope all have a good Thursday!

Good Morning everyone,

I woke up this morning and thought wow it must still be really early as it is rather dark in the house...turns out nope...it was time to get up, it's just very dark outside with clouds and rain! I was thinking that Mother Nature was taking this idea of yesterday being the longest day a bit too far by making today the shortest *grin*.

Nancy...I'm still hoping for some sunshine and nice evenings of being able to sit out on our deck even in the dusk. Our weather has been crazy the past couple of days. Lots of wind damage and things flying through the air. Hope that Hurricane Cindy doesn't leave much destruction behind her as she passes you by. Happy to hear that you got your sewing machine all fixed and can now get your shift finished. Have a great day.

Kathy...that is too cute with the mermaid. The little girl must have thought it was amazing...trying convincing her that she didn't see a real mermaid now! LOL.
With the winds we have been having, I'm just grateful that my ocean trees are still standing. So many trees have been downed all around us. Enjoy your real ocean sounds. Hugs.
PS...love Bella's adventures.

Shirl...YAY that Clenton didn't have to have injections. That is such great news. We heard about the stabbing on our news too. Apparently it was some guy from Montreal that took it inot his head to be an idiot. I just don't understand the mentality of these people. Glad to hear that the officer is in stable condition.

Time to get ready to head out to work. Have an awesome day everyone,

Hugs,
Wanda

Nancy - Thanks for the thoughts on my mother tape. I'd love to shred it. Most of it is actually gone. Just once in a while it rears up again. hehehe
Glad you got your sewing machine fixed. I have no clue what to do for bobbin help. I used to have bobbin problems all the time. I think... it's where the bottom thread gets in a big mess. So I sold my old old sewing machine and bought a new one. lol Good luck with your pattern alterations.

Wanda - I'm glad you are able to get out and listen to them Ocean Trees. Our ocean seemed a little angry this week. The first day it had black skies and lots of big waves.
The next day there was lots of sunshine and big waves. So I just on the shore and watched and listened to the waves crash. lol

Irene - Enjoy your time away with your son.

Kathryn - Wow that is hot out your way. Glad you got the AC on. Good luck finding a small unit when the sales get going. Glad you got that bike. Have fun riding it.

Candi - Sounds like your time at the camper went well. Nice to have your friend and that her son stopped by as well. It's sad when we start loosing are close friends. She's lucky to have you and Hubby as friends.

Shirl - Poor grandpa didn't get to hold Michael. But good that Michael could snuggle up to you and go to sleep. lol I love em when they are little. Hope all went well with DH's appt.

Ok I think I got through everyone's post. hehehe Gotta stay connected right? hehehe

Have a great evening everyone...

Good evening. We had a good day to go to Ann Arbor, no rain or strong winds like we'd been having. It was a good appointment as this time he didn't have to have an injection in his eyes, he'll go back in 6 weeks and they'll check both eyes then, they only did the left one and it was 100% better this time, now if the right one would just get as good that would be great, there is hope. We saw a lot of state police cars on our way down to Ann Arbor and coming back, then I saw on yahoo news that an officer had been stabbed at the Flint International Airport, he's in stable condition after surgery and they have the attacker in custody, it possibly could be an act of terrorism, it was on our local 6 o'clock news.

Nancy good luck with all your alterations and sewing projects you are going to be working on. Hope your area doesn't get hit with that storm.

Wanda we finally had a day with just a normal breeze instead of gusty winds.

Irene enjoy your week away with your son. Sometimes it is hard to know what to pack, cause we never know what the weather is going to do or what we'll be doing when we get to our destination, but like your son said if you didn't pack something you needed you can just buy it, main thing is just to enjoy your self.

Kathryn that's good some of Ron's equipment gets to go back to the VA, that shows he's getting better and now you'll have room for that bike. That's a good quote.

Candi that's nice you had time with your friend while at the camp grounds, maybe on your next stay the weather will be nicer.

Hope all had a good Wednesday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Good Afternoon Sparkies...

We headed home from the beach cottage this morning... Ran into a wreck and had to sit and sit until Andy turned around and went back the way we came and the way we had to go cost us another hour... I was tired for sure.
I had a nice time over there. We went for a Mexican dinner one night that was great. And used one of the gift cards we got from a friend for Chili's. It was good too. Last night we went for steak and cheese sub from a little Italian place... It was awful. It tasted like the Steak'em you get and fry up. hehehe So we made a mental note NOT to go back there... Or at least don't get the steak and cheese sub. lol

We went to the beach a couple times. One to sit and relax.

I know some of you that are on FB know that I actually saw a fellow Mermaid on the beach. Got Pictures of her too.

I think the guy was doing photo shots and everyone started going up to her taking pictures and talking to her. And the little girl ran up and sat right down with her. And wouldn't leave. hehehe the guy finally picked the Mermaid up and acted like they had to leave before the little girl would leave. hehehe
It was quite exciting.

Bella and the pups had a great time and they all did really well on the trip over and back too. Bella only cried for a minute then stopped. hehehe She did find the window and crawled through the blind when I called her. hehehe

Then she went to sleep on this carpet and she blended in so well we kept stepping on her. hehehe please excuse the mess. hehehe

I'm really having fun watching her play now.

Ok I need to go try to catch up with all of you while I've been gone. I'll talk to you later...

Happy First Day of Summer.
Wanda! How could you even bring up the fact that it is all downhill from here? This is POSITIVE Bloggers! So out of character for you! (I hope you know that I am just playing here!) We are "keeping an eye" on tropical storm Cindy here in the Houston area. We don't expect to be directly affected with anything but some rain here. It seems the worst will be to the east of the storm which is expected to hit land on the TX/LA border. Right now it's just gray and gloomy.

I think I have finally got the sewing machine working properly. I'm deciding how to proceed on the shift. The one I originally made requires alterations that would change the whole look of the shift, so I am altering the pattern, starting on new fabric and using the bottom of that shift to make a summer skirt. The problem with fitting clothes on yourself is the number of times you have to take off and put on the garment. The tendonitis in my shoulder is making that harder to do by myself, but I am determined to get the deed accomplished. Slow and steady wins the race!

I'm gonna go check uo today's challenge and then get back to sewing. Have a great day enjoy the longest day of the year. As our fearless leader pointed out, this will be your only chance!!!!
Have a great one!

Good Morning all

Today is the longest day of the year...sadly they begin to get shorter starting tomorrow *grin*.

Lots of wind this morning, a left over from yesterdays storm. At least we didn't get the tornado that touched down in Red Deer. (only a couple hours south of us). It does appear that it will be a nice sunny day today. The garden plants will enjoy that.

Kathryn...yay on scoring a exercise bike and having a spot to put it. That will make it nice for both of you to work out on. If the VA is taking away some equipment that you no longer need that is great news...means Ron is getting better. Have a great day.

Nancy...hope you get your bobbin figured out and are able to make those adjustments to your shift you are sewing.

Shirl... safe travels today, see you when you get back.

Irene...enjoy your time away with your son. Packing can always be tricky as you never know for sure what you need *grin*.

Candi...how nice that you were able to spend some time with your friend. Sounds like you have been busy while at the camper.

Not much happening here. Weathering the storms that seem to be rolling through each day. So far we have escaped any hail and tornadoes so that is good. My garden seems to like the day of rain and then day of sunshine pattern that has been happening of late.

Have a great day everyone,
Hugs,
Wanda

I loved the question of the day , it made me think. Do look at it.
Kathry I liked your quote too. So true no one had to understand our journeys but accept we need to travel our own way .
My ds Mike and I are going away for a week on Saturday, I am using up fresh foods and planning what clothes to take. I never take the right clothes ! But as Mike says we have money we can buy what we need. ,
Enjoy your day Irene

Hello all. hot hot day in the mid 100's, AC running 24 hours now. It is in the living room wall so can not be moved to my room. My bed is under the windows in the bedroom. This bedroom was remodeled before we moved in and the bathroom off the back side of the room was moved and made bigger on the other side. They left the small bath room window and if I can find an AC unit that can fit there will buy in the fall when costs go down.

The VA is picking up some of the equipment we don't need and I will have room for an exercise bike in the dinette area of the kitchen. I bought the bike at the thrift store today and will pick it up tomorrow after the VA people leave.

The storage room/walk in closet off the living room was flooded again. It is flooded when the outside faucet is messed with and left spraying in the wall or left on making a big flooded garden. I called and talked to the land lady about it. The guy doing the yard work now waters at 11:30 at night and can not see when he has left it on. Hubby and the LL talked to him and now he is watering in the morning. I am also checking before going to bed and the morning. The old gardener is taking over again next month and I won't have to double check him. I lost four throw pillows to this last flood. On the positive side have wanted to get rid of those pillows for some time now. LOL

Positive quote-Sometime the people around you won't understand your journey, they don't need to it's not for them.

Afternoon everyone, hope you all had a great week end, we had a lot of rain over at the campground but got in everything that needed to be done except washing the camper as it didn't stop raining long enough for that. We may need to turn in an insurance claim as the awning is ripping along the roller, if the tape doesn't hold and it rips more. But I guess that's why we pay those premiums every year. Our friend from down state (Alganac) who has a place east of us came up Saturday night and spent the night and morning with us, last week was her 60th BD and although we sent a gift and card we missed her surprise party. We really miss seeing her all the time, she and her late hubby where our best friends for over 25 years. My hubby really misses hers. Her son drove over from Oscota about 50 miles NE of campground just for the evening, we went out to dinner then sat around the fire for a few hours before he had to leave. Sunday I fixed breakfast for the 3 of us and we chatted until Kathy was ready to head home, she'll be up to her place week end after next and we'll try to go over there for a day or two. Hubby spent part of the day on the sofa or in bed resting but he did get a few things done. Talk to you all again tomorrow.

Good evening another day where I thought I'd been here, but hadn't, gees. We are having a light evening shower, it's only going to be in the low 50's tonight, so will snuggle down under the covers. It's suppose to be in the 80's tomorrow and dry, DD is driving us to Ann Arbor for DH's eye injections. Grandpa didn't get to hold Michael very long as he got fussy and Tana gave him to me and he snuggled down on my shoulder and went to sleep.

Nancy hope you can figure out what the problem is with your sewing machines bobbin. A dip in the pool sounds good.

Wanda it seems like we are having similar weather lately.

Irene hope you can stay cool, drink lots of water so you don't get dehydrated.

Hope all have had a good Tuesday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Happy Tuesday.
Today was gym class and as usual it was tough. We had some intense weather last night, but right now the sun is shining and I'm about to go out into the pool to float away some of that muscle soreness.

I'm continuing on my quest for more vegetables. Rather than focussing on what I shouldn't eat, I'm focussing on what I should eat. Vegetables!

I did manage to sew yesterday. My machine is acting up, so I'm going to have to spend some time figuring out why the bobbin is screwed up. But I managed to hem up a pair of trousers for my son and put together a shift to alter for a better fit. Of course it wasn't a perfect fit and I've got some alterations to figure out. It's easier to fit a pattern to someone other than yourself, but I'm determined to figure this out.

So, that's where I'm at today. Hope your day is a great one.

~Nancy~

Good Morning all,

Rain over night and it looks like it plans on doing the same all day. Forecast calls for sun tomorrow, so I'm ok with the rain. Saves me lots of work on watering the garden *grin*.

Shirl...Sounds like your neighbor is returning the favor with all the baking. How nice to have some fresh baking that you didn't have to make yourself. Enjoy your visit with family today, looking forward to seeing some pictures of the wee one. They grow so fast.
I have a shipment to unpack this morning when I get to work, that should keep me busy with unpacking and receiving it for part of the day. Hopefully we will get another shipment in later today too.

Kathy...enjoy your beach time. I'm listening to my "ocean Trees" as the wind moves those branches. I can close my eyes and pretend I'm sitting at the beach with you.

Nancy...how like a man not to notice all your efforts to beautify the back yard. emoticon
I'm sure that he will appreciate all the color though as he absorbs your handy work. I love all the variations of colors that marigolds can have. They are great companion plant to have among my veggies.
I had some mandarin oranges that were giving me signs that they needed to be used up, so I peeled them all last night, tossed them into my ninja blender with a couple of bananas, some chia seeds, some coconut matcha, some greek yogurt and blended the heck out of them.....a lovely creamy smoothie waiting for me this morning for my breakfast. Even left enough for Garry to have some. Tomorrow will be a berry one with some spinach. Love my smoothies. They make a great breakfast and keep me fueled up all morning.

Irene...I loved your Tuesday challenge. We can get so caught up on the what the scale tells us about ourselves that we don't see the all the great things. Enjoy your day today. Hugs.

Kathryn, Donna, Trace, and anyone else that pops by...wishing you a great Tuesday.

Have a great day,
Hugs,
Wanda

Hello on Tuesday, I just set the Tuesday challenge, I always look what the challenges are, there's no pushing to do them but I like to try.
The heat is still here it's clouded over today but feels very heavy and humid, nasty .
Public buildings have a/c ,I am going to have some beauty treatment today. I hope it's cool there.
Wanda the home made drinks sound ideal. I made my own drinks too. Just water but I put sliced cucumber fresh mint and lemon slices in. Very refreshing ,
Have a good day Irene

Getting here late. DH had an 11:30 morning appointment with his doc at the Battle Creek VA, he'll go back in 6 mos. We got in a good down pour on our way home, we get here and no rain at all, lol. We ended up not going out to DD's yesterday, but her and A.J. came in to visit in the evening. One of the new ladies here brought down a SF banana cream pie and 3 little loaves of bread to us tonight, this lady loves to bake and make good things.

Tomorrow GD and little Michael are coming over to visit, will have to see if we can get some pictures to show how he's growing, he likes to eat and sleep.

Nancy glad DH was home for Father's Day, how could he not notice all those colorful plants, men, lol. Sounds like it was a nice Father's Day.

Kathy enjoy your time at the beach house.

Irene hope that heat lets up for you pretty soon. We are getting a break from the 80's and the humidity is lower so it's actually comfortable and we haven't had to run our AC.

Hope all are having a good Monday!

Hugs,
Shirl

The weekend went fast. Our youngest son, James had his girlfriend over on Saturday. They have been watching seasons of Game of Thrones to get ready for the new season that starts in July. Girlfriend is a big fan and James never watched it. His siblings tease him because they all watch it and he said he didn't want to. His cousin was the same way and they both just hooked up with young ladies that have convinced them they needed to watch it. The power of attraction!
DH was picked up at the airport Sunday at noon and we had a BBQ for him. He didn't even notice his plants! I had to point hem out to him. "Oh, I was so focused on the pool that I didn't notice the plants." The plants look nice. I have a box of marigolds that still need to be planted, so I've got a little more work to do to complete my project. I'll try to finish that up today.

On the nutrition front, I took the weekend off from tracking and any restrictions. What I have been noticing about my diet is that I really need to work to boost my vegetable intake. So today I'm adding a green smoothie to my intake. I am planning to do that every day this week in order to get my vegetable count up. And I think I'll also make a big pot of vegetable soup so that I can increase the count some more.

Kathy, I'm sorry that mother tape in your head is so strong. Does not sound pleasant. Maybe instead of a dress, you should sew a critter or a dolly. Something that your mother never made you rip the seams out of. Maybe that would "shut her up". I didn't sew over the weekend, so I'm planning on spending the better part of the day today at my machine. I should have taken a picture of the flowers while they were all in the crates. Now they're strewn all over the yard. It would be about ten different pictures. I'll see if any of them are photo worthy.

Wanda, Kayli's concoctions sound yummy. Glad that the weather didn't dampen your Father's Day BBQ. And thanks for the Creativity Challenge today.

Shirl, your weather sounds wild up there! Hope that things quiet down up there and you get some nice sunshine.

Irene, hope things cool off over there.

Okay, I'm off to get creative. (Wanda posted a nice challenge for today) Have a great one.

~Nancy~

Good Morning everyone,

We had a nice productive weekend. Got some yard work accomplished between the wind storms and rain. I did some "weeding" out in my kitchen and have a couple of boxes of items that the girls can go through later and see if they want, if not I'm planning on a garage sale next spring. In the meantime the boxes of "stuff" will go to the basement in a designated garage sale location. I'm trying to get ahead of the game and get things weeded out and organized.

Yesterday the girls and Kyle came over to celebrate with Garry. The windstorm, thunder and rain started about mid afternoon, but by the time it was BBQ time the sun was shining and we were able to enjoy our dinner outside on the back deck.

Kaeli had been experimenting with making some simple syrups and brought them over with some sparkling water for us to try out. Really liked the cardamon and lemon one. She made a blueberry and basil one that was pretty good also. She used all fresh items and made things from scratch.

I checked out my pear and apple tree and am excited to say there are several apples and pears beginning to form. Now if the wind and weather will only cooperate, I might have some to harvest this year!

Not much happening other than day to day things, but life is good.

Happy Monday all,
Hugs,

Good morning. Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there, hope you have a wonderful day. We got a T-storm in the evening, booming thunder, fireworks lighting, heavy rain and gusty wind, my poor petunias are really looking a bit bedraggled now. Took DH to MacDonald's for breakfast and we'll be going out to DD's this afternoon.

Irene that was nice of you to share those pictures of your DH. The rain has helped cool our temps down some and the humidity.

Wishing all a blessed & serene Sunday!

Good afternoon. We got flowers and went to the cemetery for dad this morning, it looked like they had, had a little shower over that way. It's an overcast day but comfortable in the 70's and we might get some rain this afternoon. I need to get up and ride that bike this afternoon. Haven't heard or seen an update on Mason yet today, thanks for the prayers.

Kathy I use to sew but haven't done much of it lately, except for the curtains for Michael John's room. I wondered where you were and then the light blub came on, lol, and I remembered you had said you were having company at the beach house. I love it when we get gift cards to places to eat.

Nancy what a nice thing to do for DH for Father's Day. Hope your shift(s) turn out ok. I like yogurt in my smoothies for the extra protein.

Kathryn I see where you're suppose to be getting really hot temps. I think Kathy's suggestion about moving the AC to another window is a good one and maybe giving Ron an extra blanket if he's still to cold. Did you find anything nice for you at Walmart?

Irene, Donna, Candi, Trace, Mauri, Wanda and anyone else that pop in, enjoy your Sat.

Good Morning Sparkies... Happy Saturday to you all...

Nancy - My problem with sewing is deep seeded. hehehe My mom had me take a sewing class in school. Then at night when I was working on the outfit for class she would check it and make me rip all them little stitches out... UGH! I hated that part. And her over me like a drill Sargent. hehehe I did hem a pair of shorts for DH the other day without a problem. But I can't seem to get Mom out of my head when I sew. But you have inspired me to maybe go get material and a pattern for some around the house shifts. I'd have to sew while hubby is not here though. (Mom get out of my head) LMBO!
Good luck getting the back yard all planted up with colorful flowers. How nice. Take a pic for us too. hehehe

Shirl - Sorry to hear that baby Mason is not doing well after his surgery. Poor baby. Prayers being said for him and your family. Hope they can take that tube out soon so he can eat. don't want him loosing all that weight he's put on.
Good for you getting on that bike. I need to do that today as well. Good luck to your DS with the house. Hope it sells while he is up there.

Kathryn - I think I'd get hubby another blanket so you can have the ac on. I couldn't sleep without it. Ours is on all the time. But we do have central. Do you have a window in your bedroom? You could move the ac into your room then he wouldn't get cold.
Have fun shopping with your gift card. We just got 4 gift cards (for Bonefish and /Chili's restaurants) from a friend for letting them stay at the beach house for the weekend. They total $100. woo hoo!!! I'm taking DH out for lunch or dinner tomorrow.

Wanda - Yay on your peas... If nothing else you will have lots of pea soup for the winter. hehehe Hope that rain settles down for ya so your plants can grow.
Hope all goes well for Kyle. That job sounds great being close to home and all. What a great field to be in as well. The pay is good too.
Good luck to Quin as well. Hope it works out where they can buy that place. Sounds like a nice place with all that land.
Prayers that Garry can find a job that will offer more stability. It's hard working for commission when things are not selling. I know you want to retire so hope it all works out for you guys.

Not much happening here. Still working on the Dragon for SIL. He looks like a long black snake right now. hehehe Need to do the legs and then the spikes down the back. Can't decide if I'm going with the brushed out stuff down the back or spikes... Ooh maybe both. hehehe We'll see.
I also need to start on a oversized shrug for a friend. She sent me the yarn so maybe I'll start on that soon. I want to be done with it by Sept when she comes to Florida. But first... The Dragon... hehehe

Hello to all that may pop in... Donna, Candi, Irene...

Have a great and healthy day... Wish people would stop posting such yummy things on FB all the time. On the plus side... even though I may print that yummy recipe out I have not made it. hehehe

Happy Friday to all!

I just got back from the garden center. I bought a bunch of color for the backyard for Father's Day. My husband likes pots of plants with lots of color and our backyard is a little crispy at this point. So I went to reboot the backyard landscape for his present. All the plants were 1/2 price, so that eased the cost considerably. So that's what I'm going to be up to. It's so hot out there that I won't be planting just yet. I may wait until early tomorrow morning. DH doesn't come back from his business trip until Sunday morning, so I've got a window of time. So I'll probably choose to sew instead.

On today's challenge of eating whole foods, I am dragging my feet on deciding what to eat today, so I haven't eaten anything. But I am starting to get hungry. I'm trying to decide if I want to "process" a fruit and greens smoothie, or just eat each component plain and unadulterated! What to do, what to do! Good thing I'm not starving here!

Shirl,
I will certainly offer some prayers for Mason and his family. What a difficult time for you all.
Wanda,
I'll offer some prayers for your family's employment and settling issues.
Irene,
I'm counting yogurt as a whole food these days, just because I need those probiotics! Whatever works to keep us healthy, right?
Kathryn,
Have fun with that gift certificate. Free money! Enjoy.
Kathy,
Sewing makes me a bit nervous too, but here's what I'm telling myself; "That fabric is just sitting there. If you make an outfit and hate it, if you just throw it away, you're not out anything because it would just sit there collecting dust and eventually be thrown out when you drop dead and your family has to deal with your crap." Does that work for you?
Candi,
Hope you are having a great weekend at camp.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I hope to hear about your adventures.

~Nancy~

Good morning. We had a nice shower around 6 this morning, now it's just getting real muggy and will be turning the AC back on, actually slept comfortable with it off last night, but we had a cold front come through which had knocked down the humidity. Have a load of laundry going and then after lunch will work on getting my summer clothes out and winter ones stored, I know it's taken me long enough, lol. Jeans are just to hot to wear in this weather. I have leftovers to warm up for lunch so clean up will be easy peasy.

I am praying Mason has a better day today, after his surgery he started having breathing problems and now has a tube down his throat and because of the tube wasn't able to have anything to eat yesterday. Kayleigh stopped by yesterday on her way back from the hospital to pick up his lovey Kathy had made for him, she was pretty upset as this puts his release date further back.

Wanda good luck to Kyle and his interview, hope it goes well. That would be great if a deal could be worked out for Quin to purchase the home where they are at. My DS said that they should here by 7 p.m. today if they got anymore offers, there was one interested party who has looked at the property twice and seems really interested.

Nancy sounds like you really worked out this morning. I finally kicked myself and got upstairs to ride the bike this morning, it's about time. I love all the fresh fruits and veggies we can get in the summer time. Will we get to see a picture of your creation when it's done?

Kathryn congrats on those gift certificates.

Donna, Irene, Candi, Trace, Mauri Kathy and anyone else that may stop by, have a fab Friday!

Hugs,
Shirl

100 plus days for the next 7 days. So hot last night hard to sleep with no AC. We just have a small unit in the living room/hubby's room and he gets to cold when it is on. We have ceiling fans in every room so it is bearable. Up early today, off to Walmart as soon as my caretaker-M comes. I have a $20 gift card and am just going to walk all over the store looking at every thing and buy some thing really nice just for me.

Good Morning Positive friends...

I thought I made it here yesterday but guess i didn't.

I took Bella Kitty to the vet for her first shots. she did so good at the vet. Didn't bite anyone at all. hehehe But now she is not feeling well and would not eat her dinner or breakfast. Even tried some kitty milk... Poor baby. Hope I didn't poison her with the flea meds I put on her neck. Ugh...
I'm gonna call the vet if she doesn't perk up soon. I tried picking her up and she wanted back down to the bed under my desk.

Positives... At least she doesn't have leukemia and her first round 1 of 3 shots are complete. lol I'm sure she will be fine...

Nancy - Glad that pool gave you some meditation time and helped change your thinking. As for as our Princess Keno... She did fine at the vet. But they said she needs to ELIMINATE 1.5 pounds. hehehe
Good for you making your own shift. I could sew me some but sewing causes me so much Anxiety that I HAVE to stay away from it. hehehe But I am thinking I may try it. Like you it's so hot and humid here that they sure would make the summer months more comfy. lol

Shirl - So glad you liked the Lovies I sent your way. I loved making them for them ggbabies... I wasn't going to but Baby Mason was pulling at my heart strings... hehehe And loved them curtains so had to make baby Michael one too. I had to look up the colors to be sure. Hope they are right. hehehe
Congrats to your GGD Isabella! That was a awesome Award she got. Very impressive! Love the picture of GGS Michael John... That Lovey is almost as big as him. hehehe

Candi - I was thinking that a weed wacker would probably work for the grass at the camp sight. But then thought... Silly mermaid... You have no idea how big that place is. hehehe Just hope you have a nice time there. Will miss your post while you are gone. Happy fathers day to your hubby.

Wanda - You are so nice to say such things about me. hehehe I'm happy that I have Sparked your creativity again. Love that you are making things again. you know Christmas is coming and with them Grandbabies you have now, You could make them a little something special. There are lots of cute hats for kids out there. hehehe Have fun... That is the most important thing...
Hope the winds and rain have died down now and that your weekend is nice weather for your BBQ. That sounds like fun. You always have such a great time with your family gathering.

Kathryn - Nice to see you. Good luck with the diet you are on. I'm with you and just can't seem to give up them sweets. So I'm cutting back instead. Gotta have my Splenda in my coffee and my iced decaf tea. lol Great news that Ron is getting stronger and can walk better. He's got to be proud of all that he has accomplished. GO Ron GO! Keep it going.

Have a great weekend everyone... Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's...

Good Morning all,
It's another on again off again rainy day. I had a chance to get into the garden last evening and see that some of my tomato plants did not survive the rain and wind. Oh well, I have more to transplant so hopefully these will be good. Carrots are all nicely coming up, it appears there might be some mouse melons coming up also...at least whats coming up is all in a straight row, so can only assume they are now weeds. No sign of the parsnips as yet and it looks like my peppers might not be doing well this year. On the plus side the peas are doing very well. *grin*

Kyle and Shy (and dog) came for a wee visit last evening. Kyle is going for a second interview for a job he is really hoping to get. So happy for him and keeping our hopes up. It's a 3 year contract with 2 - 2 year extensions possible. Close to home and Monday to Friday. He is a master electrician and this job is right up his alley.

Things are going well for Quin also, he is very busy and their landlord is wanting to work with them on a rental/purchase that sounds great. Hopefully it will all come together. They live on 3 acres which they love, nice big garden and a couple of big shops that work well. Keeping them in our prayers for success in the arrangements.

Garry is keeping an open mind about finding new work as his job is very up and down with the economy. Because he works on commissions, it's not always easy. On the plus side, my job is secure and if it means that I have to continue working for longer, then that is what will happen.

Irene...loved Kathryns challenge today...eating with purpose and intention and no processed food. Good luck today in your choices.

Nancy...our local fruits and veggies are still of the green house variety...looking so forward to this years new crop of goodies. Love my fruit and veggies.

Shirl...Good luck on the sale of your DSs house. That will be a nice burden to have lifted for them. Happy to hear that his dad came through his surgery ok.
Congratulations to your granddaughter on her award...what a lovely chunk to put towards her education.

Sunday was supposed to be nice here for Father's day, but now they are calling for showers. Oh well...we will be BBQing in the rain if that happens *grin*.

I must get ready to head out the door. Happy Friday everyone.

Hugs,
Wanda

Today was gym day and we had a particularly tough class today. I am really feeling it. I may have to take a nap, but I'm heading out to the grocery store to resupply the larder. The vegetables and fruits are so lovely this time of year, it's tough to not overbuy! So I am making a detailed list to help keep me in check. But I get there and it all looks so beautiful! You can only eat so many fruits and veggies in a day I remind myself that I can always go back to the store when we run out. Right now I'm overstocked with cilantro, so lunch was a cilantro based smoothie!
I got out some fabric last night and set myself up to sew a summer shift. I went to the mall earlier in the week and was very disappointed in the styles and fabrics that are in the stores. A lot of synthetic fabrics and ugly prints! Time to be my own designer. I have a piece of cotton madras and I'm gonna get that cut out today.

That's what's going on with me today. Hope your Thursdays are filled with blessings!

~Nancy~

Good morning my dear friends
All is well at my home. Hubby is able now to walk up and down the front steps so can go out any time he wants. I have been keeping up with my walking. I love my new tracker. It is just a simple one from Walmart but it works for what I want. Am staying on the Mayo diet but have to tweak it to fit me better.. It said no sugar for the first two weeks but restricting sugar just led me to a sweets binge. After one week weight staying about the same. Have been enjoying the fresh fruit of the season. Won two gift cards for a total of $50 to my supermarket also one for $20 to Walmart from my Diabetic class. Used one at the super market for some fresh fruit .I have an appointment with my nutrition coach today going to talk to him about taking supplements.

((hugs))

Good morning. We had our T-storm hit us just as we were going to bed last night with hail and gusty wind. When I went out before starting a movie to put the windows up in the car I had a problem with the front passenger window, it wouldn't go up and it wouldn't go down, so we ended up duck taping a garbage bag over the window as it sure looked like we might get rain; DH went out this morning turned the switch on and the window worked, he said the Lord knew he couldn't afford to have it fixed, so He took care of it for him. We are suppose to get another T-storm this afternoon.

Talked with DS last night his SO's dad came through his surgery ok, he goes this Friday to see the cancer doctor and find out what the diagnose is. They received an offer on their house here in MI, plus 3 other's have looked at it so there maybe more offers, it would be such a blessing if they could get it sold.

Sleepy Michael John with his lion lovey Kathy made him.

Our GGD Isabella, Michael John's older sister it was awards day and she was awarded a $2,500 certificate to go towards her college fund. We are so proud of her.

Yesterday was a horrible day for news, the shooting in VA, the one in San Francisco(which our SIL was at a hotel staying only 6 miles from the shooting, he was there on a business trip) and then that horrible, horrible fire in England. Many prayers going out for all.

Wanda our poor basket of petunias took a beating last night between the wind and the hail, I hope they'll perk back up. I thought our weekend was suppose to be nice but now it looks like a chance of rain both Sat. & Sun., that won't be good for The Celebrate Charlotte event going on tomorrow through Sunday. I hope you get good weather so you can do the BBQ.

Candi hoping the weather is good for you and your get away. It's hard when you have to keep having test to try and find out what's going on and then waiting for the results and getting to see the doc.

Kathryn that is fantastic that Ron can manage those steps.

Wishing all dad's a great weekend and a Happy Father's Day!

Nancy, Donna, Kathy, Irene, Mauri and anyone who stops by today, have a great Thursday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Good Morning all,

It's my Friday today and I'm looking forward to the weekend. We will celebrate Garry this Sunday on Father's Day. The kids are coming over for a BBQ as it is supposed to be nice out.
Right now it's not so nice, the wind is whipping around and it's raining. Yesterdayt we had funnel cloud warnings for a large part of the evening. I'm glad that any fruit I have developing on my fruit trees are still pretty small and firmly attached as this wind is certainly bending the branches around. Ahhh Mother Nature and all her moods.

Shirl...our Mermaid is such a blessing. How nice and how lovely to receive such beautiful gifts for those grandsons. I've been following Mason's progress and what a little trooper he is. He just keeps on getting bigger and stronger. Soon he will be home.

Kathy...those are such cute little lovies that you made for the boys. You are so very talented. Thank you for being such a great inspiration to me...you have sparked the creativeness side of me and I am back doing projects again.

Nancy...You can always count on us to be here for you when you need a boost. What I love about you is that you never give up...you keep on searching for your answers and keep on striving to be the best you can be.

Irene...my heart is just sick at the devastation that the fire in London has caused. I am shocked that there were not better safety measures during the build or the upgrades. So heartbreaking. It does remind a person though to ensure that their own place is up to standard with fire safety measures. Hope you are having a good day. Hugs.

Candi...enjoy your weekend at the camper. See you when you get back.

Mauri, Donna, Kathryn, Trace and anyone else that pops by today...wishing you a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Wanda

Evening everyone, we have decided to head over to the camper after mail comes in the morning so hope you all have a great week end. Tell all the Dads in your families HAPPY FATHERS DAY. As for DH's test results, we are trying to "wait and see" until the next test. Taking it a day at a time with everything crossed. I saw the report on the news about the London fire, my heart goes out to everyone who lived in or had family who lived in that building.

Wanda haven't a clue as to what may have caused the lesion as we have only spoken to the nurse about his results and the next test, we will see the Dr after the test. Our DIL uses essential oils mixed for her by her cozen and says they seem to work for her.

Kathy, we are taking the weed wacker with us just in case no one has cut the grass and extra cash if they did. How are the new meds doing, well I hope.

Shirl, over towards LK. Huron its going to be touch and go as far as the weather goes but we really need to get away if we can. Isn't our Kathy just full of surprises, just know you babies will grow to love the "loveies".

Nancy, glad to have you back with us, Coffee may not be nourishment but it is a necessity, at least to this girl. Glad we could help with some positive vibes for you.

Spark friends MAKE it a GREAT week end where ever you go.

Nancy glad you can come here and get your positive fix, makes us feel good that you feel that way about us.

Well I had a most pleasant surprise waiting for me in a box the mail person had left. Our sweet Kathy had made and sent two of her loveies,, one for Mason and one for Michael John, Mason's has an elephant on it and Michael's has a lion. I took Michael's over to him and his mom thought it was cute and in the colors of the Loins football team, she took a picture of it beside a sleeping Michael and will share that when it gets posted to my FB page. Tana said to be sure and thank Kathy for making and sending it. Below is a picture of both of them.

These are so darn cute. Thank you Kathy.

I've got to get in touch with Kayleigh and see if she can stop by and get Masons, but I know she's going to love it.

Good Morning Positive Friends!

I woke up this morning in a terrible funk! Very blue and feeling sorry for myself. So I went back to bed! Take 2! Felt physically worse when I got up. Oh dear! So, I put on my swim suit, nourished myself with a grapefruit and a cup of coffee (not that coffee is nourishment, but it gives me a lift), floated in the pool for about 20 minutes, meditated on my condition and then came on the computer and directly to this team. Let me just say that you team mates are good medicine. The positive attitude around here is healing! I feel much better just reading about your days.

Wanda, I am fascinated by your aroma therapy information gathering. One of the conditions that I have been dealing with is a lost sense of smell, due to my current glaucoma eye drops. I've been speaking with the insurance company and drug company and Dr. and meeting a lot of road blocks. I have used 2 different brands of generic eye drops. One does not affect my sense of smell, but I can't seem to be able to get that brand. An ongoing saga. It's a full time pursuit! But being able to smell does affect our well being! Today I will be calling Pfizer to ask about what they know about the additives in the licensed generics to help me figure out my course of action.

Shirl, Enjoy your coffee date.

Candi, I'm glad that a health professional is advocating and getting answers for your husband. Again, it becomes a full time job when you are searching for answers. Good luck with this new direction.

Kathy, I hope your princess made out well at the vet's office. And thanks for including the pictures in your posts. It's nice to see your fur babies!

Thank you again for the positive medicine you dispense here on the chat thread. I appreciate the way you lift my spirits! Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

~Nancy~

Good morning. We got a little rain this morning with a few rumbles of thunder, maybe now the lawns will look greener. Meeting Margaret for coffee this morning.

Mason had surgery yesterday for a hernia and also circumcised, his appendix was in with the hernia so that came out to, I shared the information and pictures on FB. Kayleigh said he came through it all just fine.

Wanda glad you could attend the essential oils presentation. The oils seem to be popular over here too.

Candi finally some answers for you and DH. Glad your power wasn't off for too long. Right now it sounds like the weather is going to be nice for Father's Day weekend.

Wishing all a wonderful Wednesday!

Good Morning Sparkies...

Prayers for those caught in that terrible building fire in London. So sad.

Nancy - Good for you getting into that gym. And the pool too. I know it's so good for us to walk in the pool. Need to test the water out in ours. Will have plenty of time once all the rains stop here.
Thanks for sharing the morning meditation... Have a great day.

Candi - Nice that the nurse called and got the answer for you. Hope all goes well with the MRI and that it's nothing serious. Prayers heading your way for DH. Poor guy sure has been having a time of it. Have fun at the camper. Hope someone mowed for you.

Wanda - Glad that meeting with the Essential Oils went well for you. I have the same problem with certain odors. When the orange grove behind us blooms it's a nice smell at first but after they all get blooming it's so overwhelming. And the perfume I used to wear I can't wear anymore. Those oils sound nice. Can't wait to hear what they tell you in your meeting with them.

Shirl - Good luck finding your motivation. I have to force myself most the time to get what I can in. I sit so much my legs and back are weak all the time. They say "Use It or Loose It" That is the truth. So keep moving everyone... hehehe
Once thing is for sure... I'm with you and would rather in the AC these days. Just too hot out. Muggy...
Glad you liked that pic of my Princess. hehehe She will be 11 years old in August. Time flies. Just can't believe it. I take my little princess to the vet today. Time for shots and all.
Then tomorrow I take Miss Bella (the evil kitty that bite me bad this morning) hehehe

Trace, Kathryn, Mauri, Irene... Hope all is well with you today...

Have a great day everyone...

Good Morning all,

Well yesterday was a great day of gathering information. I did attend our Essential oils session but let the presenter know about my issue with aromas and that I might have to duck out. No problem. I managed to stay there the whole hour and so glad that I did. I found out why I was able to tolerant these oils as apposed to so many others. doTerra essential oils are pure and only contain parts of plants...absolutely no fillers or chemicals used in the process and creation of them. They have actually (in Canada, anyway) begun having them approved by the government so that they can be prescribed by doctors. I will be able to claim on my health care if I have a doctor who prescribes them...amazing! It was a very informative session and I am setting up a one-on-one consult with the presenter to have more Q & A time with her. The Cross Cancer institute here in Edmonton is now beginning to use the essential oils also in some of their therapyies for cancer patients with excellent results. Some on going studies are happening which are very promising.

Candi...Yay some results finally that might be answering all the questions on your hubby's health. How does a liason occur and what will he have to do for ensure it heals and doesn't occur again? So glad that you now have a direction to follow.

Nancy...yay on the pool time...I would love to have one to jump into every day. What a blessing in your life.

Shirl...We are having some overcast and on again off again rainy days for the week and then supposed to have a nice sunny weekend. I hope so as we are hoping to BBQ for Father's Day. The girls are coming over and if Q is off work, they might make a trip down also.

Kathy...I hope the medication help you with the pain and the restless legs. Princess Keno looks so cute and just like a princess *grin*. Have fun taking Miss Bella to the vets.

I'm running a wee bit behind this morning so will cut things short and "try" to get back again later.

Have a great day everyone,

Hugs,
Wanda

Heard from the Dr."s office this morning about 8:30, nurse didn't wait for report to come to her she called the hospital to it, DH has a lesion on his liver. On Wed. the 28th he has a MRI on it. At least the liver can repair its self in time. Since the liver helps cleanse the blood I am thinking that could be what has been happening all along, at least that is what I am hoping. Today we had bright sunny skies and temps that got into the low 80's so after a walk/run of 3 miles and lunch I worked out in the flower beds again. then came in and got in a nice 1 mile TM stroll. We plan on heading over to the camper this week end no matter what the weather is going to be, we have only spent 1 week end this season so far and that was opening week end. Hopefully someone cut the grass or it will be up to our knees. Our DIL isn't really our DIL any longer but in our hearts she will always be our DIL after all she helped give us 2 of our GK's.

Irene, DIL's trip was about 4.5 hours one way. Remember you can do anything you put your mind to, and we are here to help when needed, what ever your "down day" intailed you can work your way through it.

Wanda, when we loose power we loose the well and so can't flush the toilets. Lucky it wasn't long this time and we had some water stored for washing and toilet flushing but not alot of drinking water as after 2 week ends of company we were down to 4 bottles and a gallon jug we keep for coffee. Last time DH went to the public access at the lake and dipped water for the toilets. That one was 3 days. Sounds like you had an easy day at work today hope you enjoyed it.

Kathy, hope the new meds help more then the old. Sounds like a nice summer hair cut. I don't think juggling 2 fur babies and an oxygen tank would be easy to do.

Nancy, Hope you enjoyed your swim. That's a nice quote , I do believe people are to "connected" these days. One reason I don't have a smart phone or anything "connected" except this desk top computer.

Best go watch whats left of the news and get in a shower, have a great night everyone. emoticon

Good afternoon. It's trying to get cloudy and we may have a chance for a thunderstorm this afternoon, just don't want to lose power like Candi from their storm.

We went to Arby's for lunch and ran into my great niece, she is working here in town at the Goodwill drop off center, she couldn't stay too long, she and a co-worker were getting their lunches to go.

We went to the grocery store this morning before it got too hot and humid. It feels much better being inside with the AC then being out running around. Now I have produce I need to clean and put away.

Kathy Keno looks like a little princess, love that picture. You are doing better in the moving department than me, I just need to find my motivation again. I haven't seen a posting on FB if Mason is coming home this week or not, but will share if I see one.

Wanda I can see your dilemma about the essential oils, sometimes fragrances bother me and my breathing, now the BBQ I'd have no problem there, lol..

Irene, yes, I think we all have down or off days, but coming here helps me too, it's hard to stay down with all the positiviness we find here.

Nancy Jane glad to see you here today. Good luck on your quest to find the right diet that'll work for your body and continue on your journey to a healthier you.

Candi hope we don't lose power if we get a storm this afternoon. That's so nice of your DIL to come all that way to be with you and DH during his test. Sure hope you get some good answers as to what's going on with your Mr.

Kathryn, Donna, Mauri, Trace and anyone else that happens by. Have a great Tuesday!

Hugs,
Shirl

I just returned from the gym and I am wiped right out. The trainer works us hard! But, I know it's good for me. It gets my system kicked into gear.

I have been in the pool for a couple of months now. In April the water temperature was around 75 and it jumped into the 80's in May. I make it a point to get out into the water and sunshine each day that the weather allows. Gotta get my vitamin D and I use the water as physical therapy as the water supports and offers mild resistance to my muscles. I'm fortunate to have that luxury in my back yard. I'm about to go out and take advantage of that luxury right now.

I had a nice text from my elder sibling this morning. She shared her morning meditation with us siblings. We have a sibling text thread that we utilize to keep in touch. I will share it with you today:

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Good Morning Sparkies...

Happy Tuesday!

I did good today. Went to town yesterday and walked a good 30 + minutes in Walmart. And even got my hair cut too. It's about shoulder length with lots of layers. Feels better and less weight to pull on my neck.
My Doc appt went well yesterday. The pain doctor changed a couple of my medications. So hope that they help. Especially my neck and these restless legs. They both have been bothering me a lot lately. As I was driving home yesterday it was so hard to drive with my legs hurting, jumping and moving all over.
Today I am giving Princess Keno a bath. She has an appt at the vet for her shots tomorrow. Then the following day I take Bella the kitty for her first shots. hehehe I was going to try to take both at the same time but decided it was too much with me dragging my Oxygen bottle along too.
While I was out yesterday I found a crown for our little Princess Keno.

Wanda - I was on FB this morning and saw something that I just had to share with you. It's a greenhouse type cover for your raised planters... Might work for you if the plastic was a think mil... I sent it to you so you could see it. Might help you some to get your seeds going quicker each year... Well until you get your greenhouse built. hehehe

I think I would skip that essential oils meeting too. I just can't do the fragrances either. But now BBQ smells don't bother me at all. Bahahaha Love me some BBQ. hehehe
You asked a while back and I never responded... If any of us track our food. I did for a long time but it go so repetitious I stopped. Tried it again the other day and stopped again. I know if I used it it would help.

Irene - I do not like it when i get down. So today I'm using your idea of coming here and putting on my positive head. hehehe It's much more fun than being down. This team always makes me feel better. Especially when I remember to post some positives in my life right that moment. Congrats to you on your new wee one. I love newborn babies...

Candi - it's so nice for your DIL to come so far to help get your DH to these test. Prayers that all goes well with the results. Bummer that your power was off. Hate when that happens. Hope you have a great day.

Nancy J... So nice to see you popping in again. Missed ya. I totally understand that sometimes you just need a change. Hope you can get yourself back on track and get your BS under control. My DS was just diagnosed with Diabetes. So he is on his way to figure it all out as well.
Now have you been splashing in your pool yet? Still to cool for me. hehehe I'm not being a wimpy. The dermatologist said I needed to wear long sleeves while in the sun... wondering how to do that in the pool. hehehe Have you ever seen a Mermaid with long sleeves? Bahahaha

Shirl - I so agree... 70's and no humidity is wonderful... But that is our late winter temps. All gone now. hehehe It's very humid here these days. Even with the rain we are getting daily. That does help but there is still humidity. ugh...
How's them new GG babies doing? When does Mason get to go home? Or did he and I'm forgotten. Sheesh. Sorry my mind just wonders off by it's self sometimes. hehehe

Kathryn hope all is well with your and Ron...

Donna - How's things with you these days?

Trace - How is that play going?

Have a great day everyone...

Good Morning everyone,

Wee bit of rain overnight and skies are still overcast so appears more might be on it's way.

Today is our Wellness committees lunch and learn. We have a presenter coming in to talk about essential oils and their benefits. We also have a staff BBQ at lunch time taking place. Hopefully both activities enjoy a good turn out. I am still uncertain about attending the essential oils as I don't know if she is going to be using them in the session. If they are too aromatic I will have some difficulty with breathing. I really want to know more about them though. In a pickle over this one *grin*.

Irene: we all have those days that we struggle with being on top of things positively. You are on the right track though with recognizing it and then making the effort to connect with others who can offer you support. Keep on finding the positives in everything you do during the day, it will help you to re-focus and gain ground once again. Write things down if need be so that you can see those positives. I am here for you if you want to chat. Hugs.

Shirl...how are the cooking classes coming along? You were going to take some classes with DD were you not? Maybe I missed it already *grin*.

Nancy...so nice to see you here again, we missed you. I'm sorry you are having such a struggle with finding what will work for you and your circumstances. Never give up, keep on trying. Let us know how we can support you. I have been going for acupuncture treatments and part of the plan is to get my liver working properly once again. I ended up with a nice case of acne also as the toxins worked their way through my system. Felt like a teenager all over again *grin*. I don't know how the treatments actually work, but something is working as I finally have more energy and I feel so much better. My metabolism is beginning to function once again. I have even cancelled my appointment for knee surgery as the treatments have really worked on my knee. Might be an avenue to consider. Hugs.

Candi...glad to hear that your power is back on. It's a real eye opener when we are without, just how much we rely on it. Hope the results from hubbys tests are good ones. Bless your DDILs heart for being there for you. Have a good day today.

Trace, Kathryn, Kathy, Mauri and anyone else that pops by...have a great day today.

Hugs,
Wanda

Good morning on Tuesday , I need to put my positivr head on today, I am sure we all have low in spirit day and need a reminder of what we can do , not the opposite,

TC lady. Your ddil is marvellous to do that round trip of 500 miles to visit you. I have a good ddil too. But she's just a mile away.
To do that journey here in Emgland would take all day. A small country with busy overcrowded roads , that's in towns and cities there are many miles of open roads too.

Nancy ,welcome back sorry you feel bogged down on the healthy trail .but you do seem o be digging deep to find out why what to do, good luck in that .

Shirley , free pizza supper sounds good and a chance to mix with other resudents in the block. It's all apartments I take it?

Kathy another one feeling down, we should start a small club , that's me today too but we can get over it

Wendy. The new baby and parents live about a 3 hour drive .But tend not to move far .Hannahs mother lives two houses away them , her family are always involved. Dan our gds is laid back and easy going, he acceots his partner still needs her mother and family. I expect we will vist them soon but when?

Have a good positive day friends. Irene emoticon

Not going to read all the post from week end as we just got power back after an early morning storm. Did post a recipe for the month a few minutes ago, A salad I got from Prevention and changed up a bit. Did think of Shirl with her new machine that makes "noodles" from veggies though so tried it, liked it (after changes) so thought I'd post it for you ladies to try. DH had his test yesterday, DIL left as soon as we got home, about 4 pm and called at 8:30 to say she just got home. Love her for coming but really don't see how she does it, she wasn't here 24 hours and had a 500 mile round trip in about 32 hours. let you all go and hope you had a great week end and will have a great week also. Talk tomorrow.

Hi Positive People,
Sorry to have disappeared without notice. I walked away from my computer for 2 months. I needed a break. My healthy lifestyle journey was getting bogged down and I wasn't seeing the changes I needed to see. So I set off to reboot. I'm now back to tracking nutrition. I'm not sure that I want to bother with fitness tracking. I take a isometric class, 2 days a week and it has been helpful in building strength. I'm not sure how to input that so it becomes a hassle that I don't need. My face broke out with terrible acne and that made me stop the nutrition plan that I was pursuing. I just gave up. But now my blood glucose levels are creeping back up and so is my weight, so it's back to the drawing board. There are so many conflicting theories out there that I just to have to pay close attention to what works for me. I'll be saying grace before I put anything in my mouth, with my skin in such a mess, I'm looking for some divine inspiration!. My sinuses are still congested. I have been coughing for a year and a half, and I've tried several "diets" with no positive results, so it's time for me to begin again. I don't have much confidence in my MD. I just cancelled my appointment. I figure I'll doctor myself for a while.

On the exciting front, I will be traveling to Hawaii in July. Our son Peter, in the Navy, was restationed in Oahu, and his new in-laws (since they didn't have to pay for a wedding) are giving them a "wedding" gift by bringing us all to Hawaii to see them in their new home for the next 3 years or so. We're very excited!

So that's what's up with me, and back to the tracking tools I come. Hoping to get more valuable information to help me continue my healthy journey. It helps to remind myself that when I started here at SparkPeople I weighed 240 pounds and I have a ways to go, but at least 40 of those pounds are gone and I know if I hang in there another 40 will go be gone as well. Just have to keep at it.

Thanks as always for keeping the "home fires burning", so that I have a home to come back to. I owe all, big time! Have a great day and I'll be checking in on you all.

~Nancy~

Good afternoon. It's a hot and humid one here, we are almost in the 90's, the AC is keeping us nice and cool. Took DH to Battle Creek VA early this a.m. for his lab work, he sees his primary care doc a week from today, we stopped for breakfast at McDonalds on our way home. This evening management is putting on a free pizza supper for all residents in our high-rise and the townhouses, no dishes to do tonight.

Wanda glad your garden got heavenly water, that's the best. They show chances of rain each day this week and we could use some, lawns are getting very dry looking. I'd like a nice thunderstorm, nothing severe, but I do like the sound of thunder rolling across the sky. I am so glad that your acupuncture seems to be helping you so much, what a blessing. We just had a GGD turn 5 in April, hard to think she'll be in school this fall, they grow up so fast.

Kathy 20 min. on the bike is great, anytime we can move and you do try to as much as you can, so don't beat yourself up. Sounds like your day is going to be busy. We are having August like weather in the 90's and humid, I prefer 70's and no humidity, lol.

Irene congratulations on the new little one, babies are so precious.

Kathryn I know how you feel, when I go to a movie or a cooking class with my sis or DD, I worry while I am gone, but we need some time away. Keep encouraging Ron to keep trying to do what he can.

Trace, Candi, Nancy, Donna, Mauri and anyone else that drops by, have a marvelous Monday!

Hugs,
Shirl

Good Morning Sparkies...

Sorry for being MIA. I've had a headache and got a little down for some reason. I think It's because I'm so over weight and find it hard to move these days. I did push myself to do 20 minutes on the bike so that was a plus. Also I've been looking into trying to cut sugar from my diet until I can get it all under control again. It's my downfall every time.

Forgive me for not addressing everyone. I need to catch up with the post but have a Doctor appt today and need to go to Walmart and thinking of maybe getting my hair cut or trimmed today. I will be to my wonderful Splashing self soon... hehehe

Have a wonderful day my friends...

Good Morning everyone,

A new week and it is likely to be a busy one at work. I'm ok with that as the day goes by fast.
Today is my acupuncture day also, only a few more sessions and then we have a reassessment to see how things are going.

A rainy weekend for us, but we did have some periods of just overcast. I was able to get out into the garden and plant 3 tomato plants that I had been given, so they are now enjoying the ground and being watered by the rain. My carrots are all coming up and looking so nice. The peas are about 7 inches tall now and the tomatoes that I planted from seed are all doing pretty good too. No sign of my mouse melons or my parsnips yet...hope the seeds weren't duds. My peppers seem to be struggling too, so will see how they do as time goes on.

Irene...congratulations on your newest member of the family. Do they live close to you so that you can get
to see him?

Kathryn...it sounds like Ron is getting stronger each day and sometimes you need to give him that little bit of independence so that he continues to see how well he is doing. Good for you. He was all set up safely so that is good.

Shirl...ahhh baby cuddle times are so precious. It was our Imogen's 5th birthday yesterday, but it was just a phone call as we weren't able to get together. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will be so not so bad.

Trace...happy to hear that your Mom is doing better. It's not easy being the caregiver of one's parent, but I wouldn't have changed it for anything.

Our neighbors got their house listed finally on the weekend. Hopefully we get good neighbors with the new owners. It's rather sad to see the present owners leaving but we wish them well.

Not much happening here, just the usual daily living. Hope everyone is doing fine and moving forward.

Happy Monday,
Hugs.

Hello on. Sunday, it looks to be a fine day but is early yet.
Kathryn ,it is hard I know to leave our loved ine but you need a break and me time . You left him secure, either everything to hand,

Here in Uk it's all post election news and what happens next, I take an interest in current affairs and politics but now it's all , Maybe and Perhaps, I will wait until there is certainty.

But good news fir our family with a new baby boy arrived to my grandsons partner. He kept us all waiting then it had to me an emergency c section. He was nearly 10 birth weight and is to be named Rowan . Enjoy your dat. Irene

No caretakers today so could not just take off walking around looking at new neighborhoods. I felt I should stay close. I did do two 15 minute walks around the store across the street and one 35 minute to the nearest Starbucks and the dollar store. I worried a little during the later trip but hubby was okay sitting in his wheelchair looking out the window, watching T.V. and playing music on the computer.. He had the phone on a table near him, also water, coffee and a bowl of cherries. He was all set up. I need to learn to trust that he will be okay.

Good morning. No overcast sky today and it's suppose to get pretty warm, let's say hot this afternoon, so will try and get things done this morning while it's a little cooler.

Snuggle time was great, Michael John was quite content to sleep on GG's shoulder all most the whole time him and mama were here, grandpa got to hold him for a little before they left for home. Hopefully little Mason will soon be home and we'll get to hold him too.

Candi sure hope all goes well tomorrow with DH's test and the doctor gets some answers from the test results. That's nice of your DIL to come up and sit with you, it'll be a long morning.

Trace glad to hear mom is doing better and that maybe now you can focus a little more on you and hopefully get more rest. Enjoy all that music.

Kathryn I had one more 10 lb. bag of chicken in the freezer and when my DD stopped to pick up some of the chicken I fixed yesterday she took it home with her to put in her freezer, she has a big upright freezer, we may use that chicken to do a cookout with. I'll remember that about thawing it enough to separate the pieces. Did you get rained on and did it make you grow? That gave me a giggle. It sounds like Ron is determined to become better able to get around, good for him.

Wanda, Kathy, Nancy, Donna, Irene, Mauri and anyone else that pops in, have a great Saturday!

Hugs,
Shirl
