So when I joined this team it said it is inactive, no one has posted here in 3 months or more so I thought I'd just see if anyone was still around. :)

I understand your being busy with twins! Twice the blessings and the trouble. I think you are amazing to be still doing workouts. I am glad my days of small children are over. I have five children; a singleton and two sets of twins. The last set was born 1 1/2 months before the oldest's fourth birthday! I'm not interested in being a team leader; I'm not chatty enough. It's understandable you don't have much time or energy for being a team leader.

I'm glad to see some familiar faces still around..yay

Sorry I've not been here much at all...I'm super busy with the twins being almost 2 and into EVERYTHING! ugh..

Im still workingout, my eating needs MUCH improvement and my scale shows that. Im trying ot get back at it..I want to reach my goal once and for all so then I just have to maintain. To me that seems like an easier option than trying to lose..blah

Im gonna try and come up with some fun things for the team, maybe get ppl motivated or at least chatty...

Would anyone be interested in being a team leader?

We just had the missionaries over for a visit. They are really trying to help members here be more active in their missionary work.
Wow, that is really tough for me. I am, by nature, a peacemaker and a people pleaser. I never want to offend any one and since I have been offended by people trying to push their religion on me, I don't want to do that to anyone else. But I have gone too far on the opposite side of the spectrum and now need to get back over on the other side a little.
So even though they are giving us challenges to have gospel conversations w/people of other faiths and inviting people to church, I'm having a grand old time just asserting myself to stand up for my standards!! I have had several good experiences in this area in the last few weeks and I have been surprised by the positive responses I've had! So hooray for me!!
I still need to exercise, though...

ooooh, I dropped off the planet for 2 weeks! Here I am again.
I am not logging my food, but I have started to at least LOOK at the nutrition label on what I'm eating. That way I can think to myself "wow, I just ate 500 cal of Chex Mix."
Today, I went back onto On Demand, and found that my Bob Harper workout is no longer offered there. Just Jillian workouts. I didn't care for hers as much as Bobs. So I made my boss do a quick ab workout with me and then we searched for a cardio/ strength training workout w/o music (she's slightly rhythm-impaired...). We found one and pleged to do it tomorrow. Hooray for us for getting back in the groove...

I have run 4 5ks. I think they are a lot of fun! My favorite that I am running is Race for the Cure, which is May 9th. I love the idea behind Thanksgiving Point's 5k Running with Angels that will benefit Utah Valley Women's Clinic.
I would suggest a training schedule for running a race. If you train it improves endurance, speed and it prevents injury. I have tried it for the first time and it has helped me to work towards the Salt Lake Half Marathon. 13.1 emoticon

A 5K is 3.1 miles and a 10K is 6.2 miles. I'd probably stick to 5Ks for awhile before you work up to a 10K. I ran my first 5K last August. I didn't finish last and I stuck to the pace that my runner husband knew I could do. I was thrilled to have finished in just under my goal time. In November I ran a 4 mile race. I know it doesn't sound like much difference, but I felt a big difference between 3.1 and 4 miles. My husband encouraged me to keep training for 5K races for awhile before I worked up to longer distances.

Glad your new calling is going better for you.
This week has been pretty crazy for me so I haven't had time to get on here in awhile. My bro just got married this past weekend and I finally feel like I can take a breather from all the crazy running around.
Speaking of running. I've started running agian! Since it's been awhile I'm really slow and out of breath, but at least I'm doing it. I'm hoping to run a 5K at Thanksgiving Point in May.
Oh, does anyone know how many miles are in a 10K? I was thinking of maybe doing one of those for 4th of July but I'm not sure how far that is. I'm pretty new to running still.

I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.

Thanks for all the support. I was the secretary before so I don't feel like I am completely lost. It is getting better. My new frustration is that I would like to change some callings around but the bishop has been sick so nothing is getting done. My first sharing time went great. Now I will be able to relax a little bit this Sunday.

I have served in the primary for 9 years. Teaching primary, being a counselor twice and then being called to serve as Primary President. Even with all of my experience and being very organized I was still overwhelmed. That was only at the beginning. You will get a hang of everything. Not only will you be able to breath you will be able to do more than you will imagine. It is so rewarding and for me loving the children was the greatest part of serving. emoticon

Sorry I haven't been on. Things have been really crazy. I was just starting to feel better when my son ended up in the emergency room. It was extremely stressful. I'm finally starting to feel better. I walked for 40 minutes yesterday. It was really nice.

Thanks. It was good for me - and the lawn looks good too. I do a cyber 5K once a month. I'm not real fast, but I'm not crawling at the end either. Each day is a better day. How are things in your world?

Good job for mowing the lawn! I never do that, I'm afraid I'll brake something. I'm naturally a clumsy person. And good job with your walking, before you know it you'll be doing a 5K!!

The musical is finally over, and I'm frantically trying to clean my house so that an auditor can come on MOn or Tues. We are refinancing the house. Yuck! I've been keeping up on walking. Still need to get on in today. I'm not going to count mowing the lawn as the walk. It was fun to get outside and dig in the dirt and work before the rain came this evening. I've got to move , move it if I'm going to get everything in!

Rina - How are things going today? I understand what you were talking about. I've had days like that & wondered why. Here's a really odd suggestion - shine your kitchen sink. I heard about www.flylady.net on one of my other teams. Her first baby step for taking control is to shine your kitchen sink. I wasn't in the mood to do what was on my "to do" list, so I followed her instructions and shined my sink. That was a few days ago. I have been surprised at the effect it had on me. Not what I expected. If you're in the mood, give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Best wishes, MaryAnn. I really enjoyed Primary Pres. Well, I liked being 1st Coun. better, but when I was pres I had an awesome secretary! A good secretary really takes weight off of your shoulders. I'm such a flake that I know I was prompted to ask for the woman that I did. She didn't have children, didn't really enjoy children, but man, she kept me straight on all the stuff that needed to be done! She was such a blessing for me!

Anyhoo...
I ate horribly yesterday and today! I mean, I was like pac-man!! All the sugar I could possibly find!! Non-stop. I will do better tomorrow (it would be hard to do worse!)!
The Bob Harper workout is still kickin' my bee-hind!!

I just got called as the new Primary President for our ward on Sunday. It has been a crazy few weeks and the future looks like it will carry on for a while. I am sure once I get the hang of everything I will feel like I can breath a little bit.

Hope everyone is feeling better in your house. My 17-year old is just getting over an ear infection and possible strep throat. He has been on antibiotics since Monday and is feeling better. I'm not sure that he's well enough to go to school, but he wants to go and he shouldn't be contagious anymore so I won't stop him. With 3 AP classes, he doesn't want to miss any more class time. He's a great kid (just had his Eagle Court of Honor last weekend). So far everyone else is staying healthy - I'm trying to feed everyone nutritious food, remind everyone to wash their hands, drink plenty of liquid and get enough sleep. I was "lazy" last week. Lots going on, but I didn't manage to do any exercise. I am trying to change that this week. I rode my exercise bike this morning. Hope everyone else is doing OK.

My boys were sick over the weekend and then I got it. sigh. No exercise since last Thu. But today my boss and I did a Bob Harper cardio blast during nap time. We occasionally run into each other (literally) and then we start laughing so hard we can hardly continue the work out. But since the laughter keeps our heart rates up, that's ok.

My youngest broke his arm last week. That boy is always the one with something! He gets his cast on tomorrow. My dh is taking him in. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that! My dh is wrapped around my ds's finger!! I'm sure the Dr and the RN will be a little frustrated during the proceedure, since dh gives in to every demand!! hahaha Wish us luck!

I just have one boy, but he sure is a lot of fun. I loved dressing him in those fuzzy sleepers when he was a baby. I could've just held and snuggled him all day long! Congrats on #5!!

Ripbabs, I love your signature quote! It totally cracked me up!

Congratulations! I am partial to boys as we have 4 of them (and no girls). I love raising boys.

It sounds like everyone has been very busy.
I had my U/S yesterday and we are having another boy. This is my 4th pregnancy and 5th child.

It is amazing to me how busier I feel when a holiday comes around. All my kids had their Valentine parties at school today because they are having parent-teacher conferences the next 2 days. I wish the weather here was better so the kids would burn off some energy outside. Five days of no school is going to kill me. Maybe I will have to take them swimming or something.

I know it's been awhile since I've posted, but I've gone back and read some previous posts. It looks like everyone is doing pretty good. I haven't done anything in February. After being hospitalized for three days and in bed at home for a week, I finally went back to work Monday. I was exhausted after four hours of work. I'm ready though to start doing small things so I can get back on track, i.e. working out and eating in caloric range.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good day.

Great job on staying in your cal range! That's awesome. I need to start tracking mine again. I'm doing much better than I did last year, but I know I could improve some more.

Things are kind of busy right now, but it seems like a lot less work than when the kids were younger. I guess I just really enjoy being a mom of teenagers. Lots of things to do, but I don't have to feed and clothes and make decisions for everyone. That used to seem so overwhelming at times.

I will be glad when the wash machine is fixed though. It has been a little crazy to not be able to do wash for nearly a week. I even stopped by the store on the way home and picked up a few things for my son that I was planning to buy next week just so we could survive another day without doing laundry. (You know what I'll be doing all afternoon tomorrow after the repairman leaves.)

Man, you sure sound busy! Hope you're getting enough sleep inbetween all that work.

Good new moment. I have stayed within my cal range two days in a row!! I'm so excited!!

We just finished family home evening and I am ordering pictures to put on a poster to display at my son's Eagle Court of Honor next Sunday. Today I have been hunting through computer files looking for pictures of his various scouting activites and have also been busy coordinating the repair of our wash machine that needs a drain pump replaced. I ran out of time to exercise today, but I'll try to do a strength training video before I get ready for bed. Hope you had all had a good day today.

I enjoyed my hot bath last night and slept well. I have been squeezing in a little more exercise this past week and it is helping with how well I sleep. I am looking forward to church this morning and am excited because my husband might get to come home the same time that I do after church. He usually has a lot of extra meetings. In fact he is already at the church this morning. I better go wake up the boys so they can get ready for church. Have a wonderful sabbath day!

Unfortunately no. But that's because I didn't want to clean my bathtub first. I did still put my kids to bed early and watch 'Bones' which was almost as good. Hope you get your hot bath!

Great job, Rina. I'm proud of you. Hopefully, things will get easier and easier as the days get longer. When I look at my weight tracker I can see some definate patterns for the past year and I agree with you on Oct - Jan being harder. I gained back part of what I lost the first 3/4 of the year. But the good thing was I only gained back part. Like I told my husband this morning, I'm starting over again with getting in shape - only this time I am starting about 8 pounds lighter and at a whole lot better fitness level than I had last March when I started on SparkPeople. I may not be perfect at this, but I'm going to keep trying until the good habits eventually take hold and crowd out the bad habits.

Busymomma - did you get to have your hot bath last night? That sounds like such a pleasant idea! My boys are talking about watching a "guy video" tonight with their Dad. I'm not into all the action and adventure so I might just use your idea and take a hot bath ... with the honey vanilla bath beads I got for Christmas ... I'm starting to feel relaxed just thinking about it.

Yeah for exercising!! I feel the same about the winter, but I think my slow and sleepy months are Nov-Feb. I'm trying to break that this Feb.

Sorry about the Cadbury's. To bad someone hasn't invented junk food blinders yet, so we couldn't see all the bad food that is out there.

I managed to motivate myselfl to work out again today. That's 3X's this week. That brings my grand total for this year to 3X's.
I have decided that I'm ready to work out now because it's getting lighter for longer and that makes me feel a lot better. Oct - Jan are the hardest for me, as I go into shut-down mode. But now I feel a little more lively and more like moving. So here I go!!

I still fall victem to my evil nemisis: the Cadbury Creme Egg. Why are they out before Valentine's Day for heaven's sake!!!!

It was cool and cloudy in MT today and the kids at the daycare were all whiny and fighting. So we took them outside and let them splash in the freezing puddles to their hearts content. They got out all of their bad tempers and exhausted quite a bit of energy.
Perhaps that's what I need to do when I'm feeling out of sorts. Well, not splash in freezing water, but exercise and exhaust some energy. Ok, wait. I don't feel like I have extra energy to exhaust, but you know what I mean!
