Hi Team!

Where is everyone? Suzzy, are you okay? What about you, Dedrie? Christy? Everyone?

We had freezing rain last night. School is canceled once again. I'm sure the roads are terrible. We are expecting more of it tonight.

Today I will begin on the tax return in earnest! I have a lot to do before Feb. 15th!

Have a great day!

Jen

Hi Team,

Donna, I'm sorry that you're having such a bad experience. Hang in there, it has to be over soon.

Janet, take it easy on that knee, you don't want to make things worse.

Suzzy, it's good to see you back in such good spirits.

Yesterday we bought a bunk bed for the grandkids.DH was putting it together last night and it seems to be missing some very important bolts. So he'll have to go to the hardware store today to get what he needs. In the mean time the bedroom is a disaster. Last night 2 of the granddaughters slept in our room on cots and the oldest slept on the floor on a mattress. I had expected to have their bedroom all put back together last night. I hate it when things are so out of order.

I think I'll take the kids out for a walk while DH puts the bed together. That will help with my frustration.

Have a great afternoon everyone!

Hi gang, it's me again. I went to the doctor this morning and after sitting there for 20 minutes past my appt. time, I was finally called in and I saw her for maybe 2 minutes. In that time, she looked at my heal and cleaned it out again to the point that it bled. I thought it looked pretty good but I guess she wasn't satisfied. DH and I both think she's just prolonging my total recovery. To be honest, I am not a happy person with her right now. She even wanted me to come back in 10 days. I made the appt on my terms, in two weeks when I have a day off. I can't just drop everything and go to the doctor, I have a job. If I have anything to do with it, it will be heeled in 2 weeks, I'm tired of this.

Anyways, enough of me venting.

Janet-I hope your knee holds up so you can make it to Zumba. Wish I could go with you. I miss it.

Jen-glad you had fun at the casino. Glad Spencer and is better.

Take care and stay safe.

Hi Team! The weather sure did turn in a hurry. Yesterday it was up around 30F and now it has inched up to 15F with the sun shining. The wind is also bitter cold, but we don't have the flurries yet. We're supposed to get a couple inches tonight then about a foot from Tuesday night into Wednesday. I'm not looking forward to the comute into work then, but since my workload is light this week, I could call in if I had to.

My knee is still sore, but healing. I'm going to try and make it to Zumba tonight after tutoring. Hope everyone else has a great day!

Jen - Sounds like Casino night was a success. Glad you were able to enjoy some time with your sons and that Spencer is feeling better. Have a great day at work.

Donna - Hope the doctor finds you healing well. Take it easy on the roads and I'll be hoping your hubby is okay with the comute and work schedule. I'm not a morning person, but I know how working nights can really screw up your timeclock.

Morning team. I'll be driving to work myself today, then I have a doctor's appt at 11. I'll go to that as part of my lunch break then back to work.

DH has to work nights this week. I hate it when that happens and he does too. The first night or two aren't too bad but then his internal clock kicks in and he gets really tired as he doesn't stay in bed long enough in the morning. He'll be working from 4 to midnight, then he has to travel over an hour to get home. He always was a morning person. I hate the thought of him coming home Tuesday night as we're supposed to be in the middle of a snow/ice storm. I want him to get a room and stay there but he probably won't. He's a safe driver, it's the other idiots on the road that worries me.

I'll try to check in later. Stay safe and warm.

Hi Team!

We made it back from PA yesterday in time to have some time with Alex before he headed back to Baltimore. Spencer is well again and back at school.

Casino night was a blast! It was a benefit for the local hospital. I picked a table (craps) and decided to stick it out for the night in hopes of learning the game. It worked and I really enjoyed it. I was actually up a bit at the end of the night. All chips won were turned in for tickets that went into drawings for prizes. None of us won any of the prizes, but we all had a great time!

I am going to the office today (I hope). Hopefully nothing will happen to keep me home today. They say that the third time is the charm!

Carrie, I'm sorry to hear that you have to leave the team for family obligations. I wish you much continued success on your journey. You will be missed!

Have a great day!

Hi Team! I'm still having trouble with my knee, but it has improved. I think I popped it out somehow - kinda like how your jaw pops out. Saturday I woke up with it sore, but it really wasn't in as much pain as it has been so I think I jerked it back into place in my sleep. I'm surprised my chiropractor didn't catch that it was out of place, but I couldn't really pinpoint where it hurt and he just thought it was strained because my hip was out of place. Anyways, I'm still not 100%, but it is slowly getting there.

Jen - How was the casino night? Glad Spencer is feeling better and you were able to get all your exercise in.

Dedrie - Sounds like you had another full weekend at home with the family, and even stayed on track!

Carrie - Way to go on the loss! Sounds like the plan is working out for you. Sorry you can't stick around, but I wish you luck!

Donna - I hear you on the snow. We got about 4 inches on Saturday, but it wasn't too bad considering we haven't had a really big snowfall this season so far. (Said with crossed fingers!) Congrats on driving again!

Cheryl - Hope you're having a good weekend, too!

Christy - Hope you're back out of your slump and back on track. Hang in there! That's what why we're here supporting each other.

Suzzy - Enjoy your soak! Sounds like you deserved it. Also glad you were able to soak up some sunshine today, too!

Have a great start to the new week and a great ending to January!

Hi team. Just checking in quick. My it's been quiet this weekend here. Everyone must be out enjoying the sunshine.

We went to church this morning then to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. I had a salad, bbq chicken, ribs and baked potato and 2 rolls. brought most of the chicken and ribs home. Too full. I'll eat that for supper tomorrow. Then we went to the grocery store, to Ponderosa to get 2 gift certificates and to Dollar General to get the popcorn I like. It's their brand and is only $1. I get the light and it is very good. I have it most every Friday afternoon as a snack at work and Sunday for my supper. I'm eating a bag of it as I'm writing this. Sooo Good!

I drove today for the first time. It felt good. I have another doctor's appt tomorrow morning.

Well better run. Talk with you tomorrow. Stay safe and warm.

Hello team mates.

today is gorgeous and sunny out. I sat out on my deck and watched the dogs play it was so nice.
I even shoveled the snow in the back yard to make an even bigger area for the dogs that is not shoulder deep for them. They have a huge area to play now without having to go ion the deep snow although the little one wants to be where the snow is the deepest.

I had a great time at my moms last night and we played scrabble until 1:00 am. I went to bed then and read a few chapters then slept until 11:00 am. I couldn't believe I slept for so long. Even my mom slept until I woke her up.

Well I just wanted to check in but now I have dinner to think about making and want to get a walk in with Homer. I am a bit stiff today after moving my daughter yesterday and going up and down stairs. Got a good workout but am paying for it today. Can't wait until after dinner when I will go and have a nice soak in the tub.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi gang, just checking in. It snowe again, about 2.5 inches this time. Sure wish it would go away and stay away. Guess I shouldn't complain too much, we haven't gotten near as much as a lot of people.

I'll check in tomorrow. Stay safe and warm.

Good Morning Sparkers,

My MIL is about to head out to the mall and that's when I'm going to sneak in my exercise routine. So, I'm going to get breakfast and be ready for as soon as they head out the door. Then I'm going to finish up housework and relax with the family.

Hi Everyone!

Craig and I are leaving late this morning to head to PA. Tonight is casino night with my parents. I have never gone to one of these before. I think it is a hospital fundraiser and my parents wanted us to go with them.

Spencer is feeling some better. He still looks pretty miserable, but it is way better than yesterday.

Alex came home last night. He was coming home to stay with Hana while we go away, but now all three kids will be home together wish is nice.

I got in lots of exercise yesterday. I did Zumba and wii sports and lots of strength training and I shoveled snow for about 40 minutes. I can feel it all today, but in a good way.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Stay healthy!!!

Hi Team! I can't get used to the idea of being home early on Fridays since they used to be my long work days at Dad's office. Still haven't gotten much done at home but it is a different thought process that I'm trying to get a handle on yet. I hope to get a lot done this weekend now that I've got an area in the house set aside for work.

I've been slacking in more than one way and I really want to change that. I'm going to work out a daily schedule with a checksheet to keep on track. Wish me luck.

Suzzy - What a great new winter attitude! You've inspired me to get outside tomorrow and enjoy it with my dog. She loves to go outside and give herself a whitewash so I'm sure she'll have a good time.

Donna - Woo Hoo on being able to drive! Glad things are progressing along. You'll be going to Zumba soon enough!

Jen - Hope Spencer is feeling better. I'm glad he was able to make it home and have mom administer some TLC. Were you still able to get some things done today?

Hope everyone else has a great weekend. Keep on track!

Hi Team!

I was dressed and headed off to work. I made it about a block from my house when I saw Spencer coming the other way. He had been to see the doctor and has a really bad ear infection. He looked sick as a dog. I took his prescription and headed to the pharmacy and then back home. I called the office to tell them I wasn't coming in. My baby needed me. This is my kid who never gets sick. It takes a Mac truck to bring him down and he really looks like he was hit by one.

Instead, while he slept, I did Zumba Fitness Party, played Wii tennis and bowling and did some strength training on the stability ball. Now I am loading my tax software to begin that ordeal. I have a pot roast in the crockpot so I am now ready to get to work!

Have a good rest of the day!

Hi gang. Sorry I'm late checking in with you but I had to leave early this morning for a doctor appt. It went very well, although she is still watching the one spot on my heel that hasn't quite closed up yet.

The big news is that she has cleared me to drive with a shoe on. I'm very happy about this. No more trying to find a ride to and from work, appts. meetings, etc. She still wants me to wear the boot if I'm going shopping or if I'm going to be on my feet a long time but at least I can now switch out and drive myself.

I'm at work now and it's a long day, we don't close until 6, then there's other stuff that needs done before we can leave so it's almost 6:15 when we get through. Hubby will pick me up tonight for the last time. WooHoo!

Suzzy-I'm so glad you are feeling better. Atta girl, don't let old man winter kick you butt, you kick his!

Best get back to work. Stay safe and warm.

GOOD MORNING TEAM!

is this a great day or what! WE are alive, have great friends here, working on a healthy life, what could be better?

WE have some more snow coming down but I will not let that stop me from getting in another play day/power walk with Homer. I am going to start feeling sorry for myself over this nasty weather and season and get myself moving.

I think those two days of walking have really empowered me and I do feel upbeat and ready to get back in the swing of things.

Janet I do hope your knee is better soon. Good idea to work on the upper body while the lower body is recovering. AT least you are staying active and always building strength.

I encourage everyone to stay on track this weekend and work hard at having fun at fitness. The list is unlimited as to what you can do for fun while burning calories. I am planning on building a snow man in my front yard this weekend. With the new falling snow I am hoping it will packy enough to roll.

Have a great day everyone, I am getting ready to go out with Homer again.

Hi Team! My knee is hurting a lot today so I haven't done too much movement on it. Seems like today has been a day of putting out small fires, both at work and at home. Hope tomorrow goes better.

I'm still going to try and get some upper body strength training in tonight and then do some stretching exercises before icing the knee. It is really frustrating me. I took it easy last night at Zumba and burned almost 150 calories less than my usual amount. It is hard enough to get motivated to exercise - I don't need pain holding me back!

Cheryl - Remember, slow and steady wins the race -even if it is frustrating. Hope you're feeling better and that it is only a 24 hour bug.

Donna - I've still got my fingers crossed for you to get the green light to drive. Good luck!

Jen - Maybe the snow day was a blessing. Good luck with all the tax info. I've got to get mine done soon, too.

Dedrie - I would think with all your turbo jamming that you'd have some moves! LOL! The only problem I have with moving my hips is to get them to stop! Actually my instructor is pretty good at breaking the moves down. She says most of the movement isn't in your hips but in your abs. Concentrate on the ab muscle you're moving then "pop" the hip. And practice makes perfect so I'm sure you'll be shaking them in no time. Good luck!

Christy - I think it happens to a lot of us. At least it is easy to get remotivated at the beginning of each month. But don't wait until February. Start fresh tomorrow and you'd be back on track in no time.

Imreite - Good luck with the team project at work. You can do it!

Suzzy - So glad you enjoyed a snowy day. I had one of those last week at the gardens when I went for a half hour walk through the sculpture park. The snow sure made the sculptures look different. Hope you have a nice enough day tomorrow, too.

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday! See you tomorrow.

Oh my goodness! I just realized I had not posted today and I am so sorry.

I went out again today and took Homer to the park where we played in the snow for a good 40 minutes. I posted this in my BLOG if you care to read.

I sure got a great workout and it set my spirits high all day. I feel rejuvenated!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Cheryl. Hope you are better tomorrow. WE all have those off days.

Donna sounds like you are improving with each day hon. Good for you.

Dedrie, always a great inspiration to us all.You go girlfrriend!

I am so looking forward to tomorrow when I go out again to power walk. How could I forget how great it makes me feel?
I will go bowling tomorrow night and hope my back holds up to the pressure.

Have a great day tomorrow everyone and I won't forget to post after my morning outing.

Hi Team,

I'm having a rough day today. Think I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me. I have had bowel troubles all day and feel really grouchy. I'm even snapping at the grandkids. I'm sure everyone would prefer that I just go back to work. I think I'll just go to bed early and try again tomorrow.

Hi again gang. I'm at work. It's really been a slow day. Yesterday with the shoes on at work went okay but I sat most of the time. Today I have the boot back on because it's a longer day. Tomorrow it's an even longer day.

I wound up not doing the Wii bowling last night. I was playing around on the computer and before I knew it, DH was calling to say he was on his way home. I hadn't done a thing with supper. I guess it was good it was snowing as it slowed him down quite a bit.

Christy-You are not a slacker, we all do that from time to time. Hang in there and lean on us for support, that's what we're here for.

Take care.

Hey team--I am such a slacker--lazy and eating too much. I need to get back on track and do not seem to be able to. Hopefully, Feb is going to be my month. This is ridiculous!!!

You ladies are surely my inspiration to get up every morning and get in my workout, THANK YOU! This morning I woke up to 18in of snow outside. It really does look like winter wonderland outside my window. It must be too much snow because the kids haven't asked to go out yet. Normally they bounce up and head right out after breakfast.

I have just finished my Zumba for the morning and about to jump on the treadmill while watching the BL from last night. Hubby was sitting and laughing at my trying to do Zumba. My hips just don't move like I want them too, LOL.

Jen, At least your able to stay indoors today. Tax season is always a drag!

Donna, how is your foot after a day of wearing shoes again? Are you home today? Wii Bowling sounds like fun.

Suzzy my friend, know that I am always here for you. Are you able to relax some today?

Janet, I do hope your knee feels better soon girl. How was Zumba last night? I did my Zumba this morning and I'm sooo trying to get my hips to move. How do your hips do? LOL.

Cheryl, it doesn't come off quickly for this 34 year old either. We must keep pushing girl!

Have a great day Sparkers! emoticon

Good morning from the snowy tundra!

We were blessed with a foot of heavy, wet snow last night. Everything around here has ground to a halt. They are asking people to stay off the roads. So much for my big meetings today.

I have plenty to do, so I guess I will re-think my plans and come up with a new one. It is tax season to I may get started on that. Having a kid in college means that I have to have a FAFSA done by Feb. 15 and the taxes have to be done before I can do a FAFSA. It is truly a crazy system. Since businesses have until Jan. 31 to get tax info out to people, it give a two-week window to get both taxes and FAFSAs done. It is way too much to expect of people who have jobs and families to take care of. Oh well----------------government at its best!

Have a good day!

Good morning, I have to be quick this morning as my ride will be here in less than an hour as she has to have her girls to school early again. Today is hubby's birthday.

I've done 1 mile again and just finished breakfast. I even tried on a pair of my "regular shoes" and I got it on and walked a few steps without it hurting my toes too much. That's a first.

Tomorrow morning I have to be even quicker as I have to be to the doc at 7:50. That means leaving home by 7:15 or earlier if the roads are snowy. Oh how I pray she'll let me drive.

I'll check back in later. Have a great day and stay safe and warm.

Hey Team,

Just dropping in real quick before I head to bed. I have been doing so good on my calorie intake and also getting exercise in the past few weeks. The weight is not coming off as fast as I would like, but I have reckoned with myself that since I am almost 53 it isn't going to come off as fast as when I was 23. I'm OK with that. Doesn't thrill me, but I'm OK with it.

Wishing you all a Terrific Thursday!!

Hi Team! I'm just stopping in to say hi real quick before heading off to Zumba tonight. My knee is still bothering me, but I had my chiropractor work on it so it's better than it was. At least it isn't so cold out. It was actually warm enough yesterday to wash my car. Thank goodness because it sure needed it!

Dedrie - I hear you on doing things all over again! At least you have your workouts in place so you don't miss them. I'll be better at keeping them once my knee is feeling better.

Cheryl - Way to go on a successful day yesterday. I hope today was just as great. It is such a blessed feeling when things go right!

Donna - I've got my fingers (and toes) crossed that you'll be able to drive soon. Sounds like it went okay on the foot today, but be sure to get some rest for that foot tonight!

Jen - Hope you don't get too snow bound. We are expecting 5 inches on Friday. It's a bummer since I wanted to go to a Zumba party over by the lakeshore. Fat chance if it snows, though! Glad you're finding ways to get your workouts in again.

Suzzy - Glad to see you today! Hope your family matters are all taken care of. I'm totally with you on the teens wearing shorts in winter. I don't understand it. I don't want to say "When I was their age..." but when I was in high school I remember wearing 2 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts when we'd have our cold spells. I think they're nuts now!

Hope everyone is staying warm and focusing on their healthy living goals! See you tomorrow.

Hi again. It's snowing here again. It was snowing for a while this morning, which was a surprise to everyone as it wasn't supposed to start until this afternoon. Now it's snowing again and schools have canceled after-school activities. We're supposed to get up to 4 inches.

I was able to wear the shoe to work today as I only worked 5 hours. I did catch some flack from a couple co-workers as they know the doc hasn't cleared me to do this but I felt I was ready enough to try. I'll be back to the boot tomorrow and Friday as they will be much longer days. Now if she will clear me to drive. Hopefully Friday at my appt.

I think I'll try to get in another short workout this afternoon, maybe Wii bowling.

Have a good the rest of the day and stay warm.

Good morning all,
was MIA yesterday due to family matters and was out all day and then busy once home. Was so tired at the end of the day I went to bed at 11:00 and slept right through until 8:00 this morning. Feel a bit better today having the good sleep.

NO more snow yet but it is coming. Temps rose yesterday from 4F to around 28F and it felt like a heat wave. Would you believe some of the high school kids were wearing shorts and just sweat shirts.

They have actually been doing this all winter. I reprimand my grandson all the time for not wearing his winter coat. He says he isn't cold but he doesn't have enough meat on his bones for insulation being tall and skinny. Maybe the kids are mutating here and in future years they will have adapted to living in the cold without heavy clothes on LOL

WOW Dedrie, you are truly an inspiration to us all and Donna, look at you doing a mile. I am so glad to see your foot is healing well for you and you are even able to wear shoes now.

I am thinking of getting outside for a power walk today if the roads are not too slippery. I have an intense fear of slipping and falling on the ice.

We'll see what today brings. I have MIL for dinner again today so trying to think of something nice to make.

Have a great everyone and hopefully I will have time to get back on line to BLOG and check the posts this evening.

Hi Team!

I woke up to snow falling again this morning. I was expecting it later in the day, but not this early. School was canceled by 5:45AM and Craig is home sick so it looks like a full house today!

They are calling for 5 or more inches here. I really wanted to be able to go to work tomorrow for our big meeting, but we shall see how it all turns out. The DC area and snow don't mix very well.

I took Hana to TKD last night and I went to the gym. I am trying to get back into the habit now that she is back to spending more time at the dojang. I certainly notice a difference in my strength and stamina since I have been away from the elliptical and arc trainer. I can't do as much as I used to. I know it will come back, but it is discouraging to have to rebuild what I had already accomplished. (But I WILL!)

Have a happy day! emoticon

Morning gang. Not much time but wanted to check in. I'm going to work with shoes on today. Thought I'd try it as this is only a 5 hour day. I'll let you know how it goes. I've already done 1 mile with Leslie Sansone this morning. Ready to go.

I'll check in later. Stay safe and warm.

GM Sparkers,

Yes, I am up bright and early and have just finished my 60 minute workout. Today I walked and ended with my Turbo Jam, which I just love. Now I'm cooking a nice bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and going to pack my lunch. I have to stay on schedule, so I'll chat with you all later. Have a great day!

Hi All,

I had a great day today. I stayed in my calorie range, rode my exercise bike before work, did some low impact aerobics with the residents and then spent 2 & 1/2 hours climbing up and down a ladder to decorate for Valentine's Day. Phew!!

Janet, it sounds like working at home is going to agree with you. I think your right about having a separate area for work away from your bedroom. We used to have a home based business and we had to have a separate area for work or I would have gone crazy.

Jen, I know what you mean about DH being gone. It's kind of like a mini vacation.

Donna, glad you're foot is doing better. Don't over do it, though.

Hi Dedrie, yes, we will be able to go another time, just not sure when. And my ears seem to be clearing up a little more each day. Sounds like you have been working a lot these days. Don't forget to take care of yourself.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday Everyone!!

Evening all,

Donna, how was your first day back to work.

Jen, sounds like you surely had a very productive day. I have to keep on ticking my friend because there is no time to crash. My babies and hubby demand attention and so does my job.

Janet, I love it when you set your goals because that's what surely keeps you focused. Keep up the great focus my friend.

Cheryl, I do hope that your ears cleared up some more for you. Will you be able to go to Olive Garden another day?

I am off to bed after another long day to just do it all over again tomorrow. Have a great night!

Hi Team! I'm feeling better today and feel like I'm getting back on track. I realized I haven't been doing a good job with my food tracking so I updated that portion today. I was surprized that my calorie intake went up, and all along I thought I was going over my range! I guess that was the reason why my weight went up at weigh-in even though I almost doubled my workout min/cal last week.

I'm setting up a work area in the basement at home. It is too hard to work in my room and it would be better to have a work space so I can keep time spent working on the computer separate from other things.

Cheryl - Sorry you didn't get your dinner out last night, although spending time with the grandkids sounds like fun too. Good luck with your exercise plan this week!

Donna - Hope you are well rested and made it through today alright.

Jen - Welcome to the Zumba party! Hope you had a good day. Sounds like it was refreshing once you got past the busy start. I shouldn't get too upset about winter as we'll be gearing up for butterflies in a few weeks at the gardens. They always bring spring earlier for me as I can get in the warmth of the tropical conservatory while it is still cold outside.

I'm off to get my laundry in the dryer and get a workout in. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi Everyone!

It sounds like winter is taking its toll on many of us. Hang in there, gang! Spring in coming. I know it is hard to see that here in the "thick" of winter. I just keep telling myself how fast the time has gone by since fall, so surely this last half of winter will fly by, too.

I had a nice day yesterday. I knew that Craig wasn't going to be home for dinner and somehow that always seems to free up a lot of time (at least in my mind). I began the day (after getting Hana off to school, starting the laundry, feeding the animals, putting a pot of ham on the stove to begin making soup, etc.) by using my lymphodema treatment machine for an hour and then having my monthly infusion. I got a lot of office work done and prepared for a big meeting that I have on Thursday. I finished laundry and making ham and vegetable soup. Then I picked Hana up at the end of the school day and took her practice driving. We ran some errands that have been haunting me because I have been putting them off, grabbed a healthy dinner and got home early. I soaked in the tub, did my leg treatment again and opened my new Wii Zumba game.

All the talk of Zumba around here made me ask for it for Christmas. I spent about half an hour learning about the game and practicing calypso steps. It looks like it will be lots of fun.

Donna, I'm sure your first day back was very tiring. I'm glad you are able to get back to it.

Cheryl, Sorry you didn't get to go out last night. I hope that fluid clears up soon. Problems with the inner ear and the ear channels can be so frustrating.

Suzzy, Try to stay warm and get some light!

Dedrie, You just keep on tickin', don't you???

Janet, Sorry the winter blues are hitting you, too. I hope you can kick them to the curb soon.

Carrie, It's good to see you hanging in there!

Have a wonderful day! emoticon

Good morning. I have to get going as my ride will be here in less than an hour. She has to have one of her girls to school early today.

My foot faired pretty well at work yesterday but I was really tired when I got home. I went right up and put my nightgown on and laid down on the couch and propped my foot up. DH didn't get home until nearly 8 and I took a little nap. I ate supper around 7 and we went to bed at 9. Tonight I have TOPS so it will be later when I get home.

I'll try to check back in later. Stay safe and warm.

Evening Team,

Most of you are probably sleeping by now. DH and I were suppose to go to the Olive Garden tonight but things didn't work out because we ended up having the grandkids. So I starved myself all day for nothing. LOL

I am feeling much better but am still having trouble with fluid in my ears, which is so very annoying. I still have antibiotics to take so hope that will take care of it.

I'm really going to make a push with the exercise this week. It helps that I have to take down "winter" decorations at work and put up Valentine's Day stuff. I'll be climbing up and down a 12 foot ladder tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a Terrific Tuesday!! Woo Hoo!!

Hi Team! I think this cold weather has affected my mood along with my knee, which is still giving me some pain. All I wanted to do yesterday and today was stay in bed and for the most part I did, so I appologize for not posting. I'm going to go to bed early tonight so I can have a fresh start tomorrow. I'll have to since I'll have a busy day at work.

Carrie - Sounds like you've worked out a good plan. Stick to it!

Dedrie - It is funny how we look at the start of the week differently. I guess it's because we become accustomed to our schedules. Sunday nights are when I start to get geared up for the work week. I think that is why I like to go to church Sunday nights - my way of starting the week right. Hope yours started better than mine!

Jen - Glad you're feeling toasty at home again. We woke up Sunday to -10F. And that is with Lake Michigan keeping us warm. The winter blues took me by surprise this weekend so I haven't done much with the work schedule. Tomorrow I'll be back on track and will try to get some work done.

Suzzy - Hope those rays of sunshine did the trick for you. It wasn't enough for me as I'm back in the doldrums again. I'm going to syke myself up tomorrow. I get kind of lax with my supplements over the weekends, so that might be part of the problem.

Donna - Good luck on that foot at work. Hopefully it won't give you too much trouble and the bigger shoes give it some leeway.

Nickey - Glad to see you! Thanks for the pep talk for this last week in January, too!

See you tomorrow!

Morning gang. Well it's my first day back to work. I don't know if I'll get to check in later and let you know how it's going as I'm sure there will be lots I have to catch up on. If I don't get back to you today, I'll definitely let you know how it goes tomorrow.

We have a balmy -10 this morning. That's the coldest it's been around here for a very long time. Some schools are on a 2 hour delay but not in my area. To tell you the truth, I don't know what 2 hours is going to do for the temps, it's not going to be that much warmer in 2 hours, but I dont make the decisions.

Must finish Sparking and finish getting ready for work. Have a good day and try to stay warm.

Hi Team!

It was great to wake up to heat in the house this morning. It was 3 degrees outside!

I have been slipping on the food this past week. I intend to turn that around today! I am going to plan my meals and stick to them. I will also hit the treadmill today. I get my infusion this afternoon so it will be afternoon before I get my exercise in.

Donna, I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner last night -- sounds yummy!

Dedrie, You really are a ball of fire! Share the Sparks!

Suzzy, Try to stay warm up there!

Cheryl, How are you feeling now? Were you off this weekend?

Janet, How is the "work from home" schedule coming?

Carrie, It is great to see you so motivated!

Have a sparktacular day! emoticon

Good Morning Sparkers,

My day at work had a few slow points, but I made it through. I went to bed after 12:30 this morning and I don't know why my body bounced up at around 4:30 this morning. I'm going to be soooo tired this afternoon, but at least I get off at 1pm today. Have a great day!

Afternoon gang. The party last night went well, although I did over-indulge. I had 2 Fuzzy Navels to drink then a cup of coffee and water. Had some veggies and dip, a salad, and the main buffet was corn, steamed veggies, herb red potatoes, beef tips with mushroom sauce, lasagna, chicken marsala and lemen crusted fish. I took a little of each but the beef tips and the steamed veggies were the best. Very good. Then dessert was an array olf various things, I had a chocolate covered strawberry, a very small piece of pound cake with a strawberry on top, and a small tart of chocolate mousse. All very good. I so wanted to get out on the dance floor, they were playing dome good music. Next year for sure.

When we got home last night I looked at the thermometer and it said 3. This morning DH looked and it was 10. It warmed up a little over night. It's sunny again today.

Today we went out to eat after church then to Walmart. I found a pair of shoes that I can wear, although they are a size 7 wide and I wear a 6, but they don't hurt my toes. I don't think I will be able to walk for very long at a time so I think I'll still wear the boot to work this week, just to be safe. I may try it on my short day at work, Wednesday. We'll see.

Stay warm and safe.

Good morning everyone,

we had a huge dump of snow on us last night and once again we are knee deep in it. It is extremely cold here today at 4F. ONe good thing is that it is sunny. THat should help my day immensely (I hope)

Jen, glad you got your furnace running again. We have gas as well and our furnace doesn't have a pilot light but an automatic ignition. We put the new furnace in last year.

Dedrie...PLEASE send some of your energy my way. YOu are ball of fire and I am so inspired by your enthusiasm and continuity. You truly are a great motivator.

Carrie, good luck with your goals, sound like you have a good direction to follow.

Have a great day everyone, I am about to go shovel the snow on the deck AGAIN! emoticon

I found the problem! Somehow the pilot light went out. I figured out what to do and lit it! This is big for me as I never had a gas furnace prior to moving here!

Jen, I do hope your furnace hangs in there for you guys.

I have just finished a nice run/walk on the treadmill and about to take a nice hot shower. I normally take Sunday's off as my rest day, but I decided to just burn some well needed calories.

Hi Team,

I woke up to 18 degree weather. That is really cold in these parts. I am concerned about our furnace. This is the first time that we have had weather this cold since we moved into this house. The furnace doesn't seem to be keeping up with the temperature. It looks like I will be calling a repair guy tomorrow. (Hopefully it will wait until tomorrow.)

Carrie, I think you book sounds great. I like Jackie Warner. I have watched her on tv a number of time. She makes a lot of sense.

Stay warm today, Sparkers!

Good Morning Sparkers,

I have to head into work for 3pm, so I have to start my day off early to get in all that I need to do. First, I start off with breakfast and my morning routine. I have to start the week off right and burn these calories off. WooHoo! I wish you all a relaxing Sunday!

Cheryl, I do hope that your day at work yesterday went by quickly for you. Enjoy your weekend off and I am glad to hear that you are starting to feel better.

Suzzy, it's amazing how we work up a sweat while doing our every day activities. Were you able to get in your cardio as you wanted to yesterday. My daughter had a blast and is totally looking forward to next weeks class.

Janet, how is your knee feeling today? I do hope better. Trust me, I have my days when I have to syke myself out to get in my workout, LOL. Thanks for asking, my daughter loved her cooking class yesterday.

Carie, sounds like your book is GREAT and that you have a good plan for the next week. YOU CAN DO IT!

Jen, I do hope that you were able to get everythng done yesterday. I wish you a relaxing Sunday!

Hi guys/gals its Carrie.Since i have managed to stay at the same weight for 3 weeks now I have decided to start a new plan today. It's a plan that I got from reading Jackie Warner's book called This is Why you're Fat (and how to get thin forever).By the title I am sure some of you are thinking WOW what a negative title that is and I really do not want to read it. I can tell you it is not that type of book. She explains the chemistry of our bodies and how that is contributed to our emotions and how our hormones play into that. I hope that makes sense.

Anyways I started her 5-2 plan today. That is you eat clean and healthy for five days, then you enjoy 2 treat meals on the weekend.

So here is my goals for the rest of the month.

Nutrients

1 Limit sugar to 5-9 grams per serving
2. Per Meal Servings should only be 450 calories
3 Low Fat foods

Fitness

1. 20 mins of Cardio(Bike,Eleptical etc) intervals
2.Resistance Training 3 Times a week
3 Zumba/Curves 2 times a wk

Health

1. 5 Meals a day clean. Only whole foods
2. Drink 2-3 liters of lemon water.

Hi Team! Sorry for being MIA. Thursday kind of blew by and we had guests over until late on Friday. I don't know what I did during that time, but my left knee is killing me. At first I thought it was the abrupt weather change, but it still hurts. I almost didn't go to Zumba today. But then I figured it wouldn't hurt it since Saturdays are toning classes and we do more arm work. Besides I thought it might help to loosen it up a bit. It worked out pretty well, but I'm ready to ice it and lather it in African Shea butter. I'll take it easy this afternoon and see if I can't get a more rigorous workout in later by wrapping it.

Jen - Sounds like you had a good time and got some deals shopping. We have outlet malls over on the other side of the state, but I don't get there very often. Hope your Friday was just as productive!

Donna - I'm ready for spring, too! We've been getting between 1-3 inches of snow each day this week and it has been piling up gradually. At least yesterday was sunny even if the temps were only in the teens. Glad to hear your foot is healing better and you're cleared to go back to work. I'm sure you'll be driving soon, too!

Suzzy - Isn't it amazing how much time flies while you're running errands? I always think I can get a lot more done and end up running out of time. I don't know what teens need to do anymore to get their license to drive. My niece just turned 15 and she is already driving under a permit. (Actually my dad has been letting her drive the pickup on the property since she was old enough to see over the dashboard so she has plenty of practice!) I do know things sure are different from when I went through it!

Cheryl - I'm glad you're feeling better and that you've found a way to get your exercise. Hope work doesn't wear you down too much.

Dedrie - I can't believe you'd be stalling before working out. You're the push that keeps me going and getting mine in since I see you as being so dedicated! Hope your daughter enjoys her cooking class!

Carrie - Glad your program is working out for you. Keep up the good work!

Be good this weekend!

Good morning everyone,
it is very cold outside (10F) which is actually warmer than predicted. Today is the anniversary of the Blizzard of 77 that hit our town 35 years ago.

WE were snowed in for an entire week and my little house at the time was so cold, that there was ice on the walls inside. My oldest son was just 4 months old and I kept him in his snowsuit to sleep.
I was just seeing my husband at the time and he had to leave his car on the road and walk to my house because you could not see to drive anywhere. His house was way on the other side of town and he had to stay at my place for 4 days. I had a friend visiting that day who could not get back to her home town because the roads were closed for a week that went to her town. It was a time where all the town pitched in, taking people into their homes and giving meals out.

AFter a couple of days people returned to their parked cars to dig them out of the snow. Even buses were buried in the snow. IT is an experience I will never forget!

Today I am going to try and get some good cardio in. Yesterday I was cleaning house for a couple of hours, cleaning cupboards and draws, washing floors etc. and I realized I was sweating so I count that as cardio. Only thing is that I have not been recording my fitness time (very forgetful) so I have nothing to look back on.

Next month I am going to set a goal to be mindful of recording EVERYTHING.

Dedrie your little girl will love the cooking class. My niece takes cooking classes and loves it. I can see her becoming a top chef one day.

Donna try to take it easy on the delicious foods that are offered tonight but have a good time.

Cheryl, so glad to hear that you are getting better. Maybe by the end of the week it will be just a faint memory.

Sending out good vibes to everyone to have a healthy and happy day. emoticon

Woo Hoo!! Last night was the first night in a very, very long time that my coughing didn't keep me awake. In fact, no coughing at all. My ears are about 80% unplugged. And........I am feeling much better. What a relief. For a while there I thought I may never feel well again.

I'm off to work, we have a memorial service today and we are expecting a lot of people, so it will be a very busy day. Then it's my weekend!!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!

Good Morning Sparkers,

My daughter has an 1 1/2 kids cooking class this morning and is soooo excited. I'm excited for her because she loves being in the kitchen and enjoys new activities. Then she has a play date when she gets back with one of her friends from school. I'm off to get in my workout before I don't feel like doing it.

Morning ladies. I'm up early. DH is still in bed but stirring. I almost have a cup of coffee gone.

Have a long day ahead of me. The bank where I work has an awards banquet this evening. It will take about 1 1/2 hours to get there. Probably be 11 this evening when we get home. We won't stay for the dancing as I can't dance. Bummer! I love to dance. Anyways, they always have good food. I'm sure I'll indulge in something that's not good for me.

I hope everyone has a great day. Stay safe and warm.

Good morning everyone,

I got a great sleep last night, going to bed at 10:00 and didn't get up until 9:00 am.
I am so happy that Tori is finished her co-op now and I won't have to drive every morning.
Tori starts exams on Monday for the other 2 subjects she has taken this semester (Math and English). Today she has to hand in her portfolio from her co-op experience.

Next semester she wants to do her co-op at at Veterinary Clinic so hopefully she will be able to get into the one that is walking distance from our home.

I can't wait until she gets her driver's licence but she is only 16 and not ready to write the test for her beginners so I can take her out to practice. After getting the beginners licence, she has to wait a full year before she can take her road test. In Canada we have graduated licensing and it is just a money making racket. Even if she passes her road test after the year, she has to do another road test on the highway to be fully licensed. She can however drive by herself during the time after she gets her first road test passed.

All in all I think it works out to around $200.00 for a full licence. And to think it cost me one road test and $5.00 for mine LOL.

My oldest daughter does not drive so once in a while I will take her to appointments that are out of town. Luckily my youngest daughter and son drive. My oldest son can not drive because he is legally blind from diabetic retinopathy.

I do have a charm hanging in my van that says "Mom's Taxi" LOL. It is so suitable.

Well I can't believe the weekend is here again already and once again we are faced with the challenge of staying on track with our nutrition. I vow not to indulge this weekend and hope to get some good fitness in starting with bowling tonight.

I am sending positive vibes to everyone to have a healthy , happy and safe weekend.

Jen, I was sooo happy that the snow passed us by and the kids were able to head out on time this morning. Sounds like you are at home today, have a great one.

Donna, WOW 3 more days and then back to work. You are sooo right with everything falling into place and working out. It really doesn't sound like your a worrier, which is a great quality.

Alright, I'm off the computer to get in my workout. For some reason I am stalling, LOL.

Morning gang. I wound up not getting anything done yesterday, no reason, just didn't do it. I'll try to get to it today. I have 3 more days before I go back to work and then I'll have to get back into my old routine again.

We got to the grocery store last night and on the way home we stopped at my husband's neice's place to see if she would be able to drop me off at work on her way to work and she said yes, as long as there isn't a 2 hour delay as she would then have to stay home until her kids got on the bus. I'll have to line something else up in the even that that happens. Getting home from work is another thing. It will work itself out, it always does. Dang I hope I can drive soon!

The place on my heel that the doc was watching is healing up nicely now. I take the bandage off every day and let the air get to it for a couple hours, then I put antibiotic ointment on it and bandage it back up. It seems to be working. Looks much better.

It snowed about 3 inches last night and having a snow shower right now. DH shoveled and plowed this morning before leaving for work. He works so hard.

Cheryl-Hope this round of meds does the trick. You've suffered long enough.

Suzzy-hope you were able to get some rest last night after your busy day.

Stay safe and stay warm.

Donna

I had a long, but productive day at the office yesterday. Today I face a mountain of laundry, bill-paying and many little tasks. I have to make time today for some exercise. That is one thing that has fallen by the wayside and I have to make more time for it.

Cheryl, I hope this round of medicine clears things up for you.

Donna, Be careful with your cleaning today.

Suzzy, It sounds like you need an easy day today.

Dedrie, The snow missed us, how did you fare? It is supposed to be bitterly cold this weekend.

Janet, I'm really glad that your computer and paperwork were safely away from the roof leak. What luck!

Have a great day! emoticon

Good Morning Sparkers,

Cheryl, I do hope this new set of meds work for you. Feel better soon!

Suzzy, WOW, you are really a busy women. Too bad your girls couldn't drive themselves around.

I am up early to get the kids on the bus. Once they are gone, I am going to get in my routine before I have to head out to work. Tonight I work the late shift and then back early tomorrow morning.

Hi Team,

So sorry I haven't been around the last few days. Things at work have been hectic and I still haven't kicked this sinus infection. My ears are still plugged and I think I'm going to lose my mind! The doctor gave me a second round of stronger antibiotics to try to kick this thing. If it doesn't work I have to go see an ENT, which I don't want to do because they want to do sinus surgery, which means drilling holes in my sinuses. OUCH!!

I got back to riding my exercise bike in the mornings before work and it feels great. I have a good feeling about this weeks weigh in.

Weather has been cold and rainy but not snow or freezing rain like a lot of you. Stay safe everyone!

Hello everyone,

well my day has certainly been a full one. It started off with taking Tori to her co-op then I picked my oldest daughter up and took her to open a bank account where I do my banking because they have better rates.

THat took us over and hour so by the time we finished there it was time to go to the SPCA and pick Tori up. We then went to St. Catharines to visit my mom then my daughter had some business that she need me to take her to downtown. By the time we finished there and got back to our home town, we had just enough time to do some grocery shopping before I had to drop her off and then pick my husband up from work.

I took a rest when I got home then it was time to prepare diner.
I just finished having a nice long soak in the tub and realised I had not posted today.

I hope everyone has had a fulfilling day. Mine was busy but it was enjoyable because today we had sunshine. It was bitter cold (only 15F) but the sun shine made it feel warmer. It brightened my spirits for sure.

I hope everyone is working hard at there month goals and reaping the benefits of the rewards from living healthy.

I have a slew of emails to check so I better get to them now and get some strength training in if I don't fall asleep first.

See you tomorrow everyone so have a great evening. emoticon

Good Morning Sparkers,

Jen, have a wonderful day at work and I hope it's not too stressful. Sounds like you had a fun time shopping with your family yesterday. WTG with packing your lunch!

Donna, sounds like you have a full day set ahead for you. At least you have lots to do to make the time go by. When is your next doctor's appointment?

Janet, WooHoo on your 800 calorie burn yesterday. How long is your class? I am sooo loving my Zumba DVD's!

I am off today and I am sooooo happy because after I put the kids on the bus I am going to get in my well needed workout. Then clean around the house and relax curled up on the coach.

Morning ladies. I hope everyone is well. Not much going on here. Just cold outside and waiting for the next snow to come in this afternoon or evening. We're expecting 2 to 4 inches by tomorrow morning. YAY, not! I'm so ready for spring.

We were going to go to the grocery store last night but DH didn't get home until after 7 and hadn't had supper yet so we'll go tonight. I know he'll be home on time tonight as he has a dentist appt at 4:30 to fix a chipped tooth. It shouldn't take long.

I think I'm going to try to clean some today. Just dust and clean the kitchen. I can't run the vacuum as the vacuum is upstairs and I'm not able to go up there and carry it down. Too dangerous. If I get the rest done I'll fell like I accomplished something.

Guess if I'm going to get it done I'd better get at it. I'll work on it until my foot gets tired then I'll rest a while.

Stay warm and safe.

Donna

Hi Team!

Where is everyone? It seems that Wednesday must be a busy day for everybody.

We had fun shopping yesterday. I got Spencer two pairs of new shoes and a shirt. Hana didn't find anything, but I got some new all-terrain hiking shoes, a new pair of gloves and 4 great shirts at the Columbia outlet. The prices were fabulous and the shirts will be fantastic when Nora and I go hiking. They are the kind with ventilation and sun-shield, and they look good!

I am off to the office. I have my healthy lunch packed and am ready for a long day.

Have a great one!

Hi Team! I just got back from Zumba. I love Wednesdays because it is a full house and everyone is rocking and having fun. And it's more fun that I burned 800 calories!

I'm just settling in for the evening, trying to stay warm. The temperatures have dropped a lot today. Tomorrow morning should be single digits with the clear sky tonight. I left for Zumba about a 1/2 hour after sunset and the full moon sure was shining on the snow. It's pretty, but it also makes it harder to sleep at night since it is so bright. I'm pretty tuckered so I hope it doesn't affect me too much.

Dedrie - Way to go with the morning workout! I know you do well when you start your day that way. Keep up the good work!

Donna - Good job with the snow shoveling. I bet it would have made a good video! Doesn't matter though because I'm sure you burned a lot of calories doing it. (Be sure to include them in your exercise log this week!) Glad you're able to get back to work, even though you need a chauffeur.

Jen - Glad you didn't have to hard a time driving in the snow. Sounds like you had an okay day after the appointments and had another great follow up today! Hope tomorrow won't disappoint, either.

Enjoy the rest of your day and see you Thursday!

Hi Everyone!

Our appointments went fine yesterday. I had to be careful driving there, but by the time we were done, most of all the snow and ice were gone. Then we ran around doing errands.

Today Hana and I are headed to Prime Outlets. We are meeting my parents and Spencer there. He went home with them on Sunday in order to help my Dad with some things. We will meet, have lunch and do some shopping. It should be fun.

Tomorrow is a day at the office for me. Those are always busy.

Take care and have a healthy day!

Morning team. It snowed/sleeted/freezing rained a little bit again this morning. Schools are on a 2 hour delay for the second day in a row. I managed to shovel the walk yesterday, even with a bum foot. Picture me with a snow boot on one foot, the surgical boot on the other, my hat, coat and gloves on and a shovel in my hands. Made for a strange sight but I did it and hubby didn't have to.

My doctor's appt yesterday went ok. I am cleared to go back to work. I go back on Monday. I'm still dissapointed though that I still cannot drive so I'll have to find a way in. See my blog entitled "Yay and Boo".

TOPS was okay too, I did gain 1 pound but I can now put both feet on the scale as opposed to only one foot two weeks ago at our last meeting. My lunch probably didn't help much either. I had a cup of ham and bean soup and chicken stir fry. I didn't eat all of the stir fry, I brought the rest home, but the sodium content wasn't the greatest.

Dedrie-WTG on the workouts. Keep it up girl.

Suzzy-glad you got a good night's sleep. You always feel better after a good sleep.

Janet-I don't want to lose weight that way either. I hope I don't have to do that again for another 10 years.

Stay safe and warm.

Donna

GM Sparkers,

Yeah, my second morning workout of the year. I woke up and got in a Turbo Jam DVD and a run walk on the treadmill. It feels good to be back into my regular routine and eating well on top of that. I am off to work and then hopefully I will be able to get in an evening workout. My week has been pretty peaceful, so I hope today continues a good week. Chat with you all later!

Hi Team! I'm glad I got some sleep last night because gee, what a day! We got 2-3 more inches of snow last night and I almost got stuck on our road going into work. Then it was a day of putting out little fires here and there. I hope the rest of the week turns out better!

Did I mention how much I love having internet at home yet? I not only love it but I got really lucky. On Sunday there was a roof leak at my Dad's office and it ended up soaking the desk in the back room where I used to work. Had we not got internet at home, my laptop would have been ruined. I even cleaned up the desk and filed papers away so I didn't lose any paperwork either. Talk about luck!

Carrie - Great new name to keep you on the straight and narrow. Keep it happening!

Dedrie - Sounds like you got a good night's sleep last night, and well deserved too. What a great hubby you have! Hope today is better for you. It probably is since you've already got your workout in!

Jen - Hope you made it safely to and from your dentist appointment. I had a messy comute this morning too. I'm still trying to get organized so I haven't done much in the work department yet, but one of the things I want to do is set a daily schedule and allocate work times. It will help that I can come home and get my workout in before I begin since I'll be re-energized to actually do it. Let me know if you have any other tips!

Donna - Ditto for safely making it to your destinations today. I sympathize with those who have to get around in icky snowy conditions especially when they have some disability or impediment. Love your weight loss method but I'm not sure I'd want to do it to consistently lose weight!

Suzzy - Congrats on getting some quality sleep! Hope the weather doesn't turn too quickly for you. I was hoping for one more warmer day so I could wash my car. It is so hard trying to get a good car wash day during the winter, and my car sure could use a bath!

Well, I'd better get some work done. Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Good morning everyone,

WOW!.... it sure is good to see everyone posting.
I was able to get a good night sleep last night without taking my medication. I was so tired when I went to bed at 10:00 last night from not sleeping the night before, that I was asleep in 5 minutes and didn't even hear hubby come to bed. I slept right through until 7:00 am.

Hubby and I have made the decision to get Sassy spayed and not breed her. WE will have to wait until 6 weeks after her heat is finished but that's okay. WE decided that with so many unfortunate dogs at the SPCA waiting for adoption, that bringing more dogs into the world (that are not registered with the CKC) isn't feasible.

Although Sassy is supposed to be a purebred ShihTsu she is not registered.

THe weather has turned mild and the snow is melting right now but it is only going to last a day. Tomorrow will be back to more snow which will make for some slippery conditions after the rain this afternoon. I hope the roads will be well sanded and salted so there will be no hidden ice.

Well I better get moving as I am making cabbage rolls today. Takes a bit of time but so worth it in the long run.

Have a great day everyone. emoticon

Morning gang. We also have snow but it's changing to freezing rain. Schools here are on a 2 hour delay. Hubby said we have about 1/2 inch of snow but with the ice, he didn't shovel the walks as I have to leave about 11:30 this morning. A friend is picking me up to go to lunch then I have a drs appt at 1:50 this afternoon. Hopefully the roads will be good by then and the storm has passed.

I also have TOPS tonight, if it doesn't get cancelled again, then a joint consistory meeting at 7:30. Hubby will pick me up at TOPS to go to that. Busy day. The scale was really good this morning, although I chalk most of that up to being cleaned out from the colonoscopy yesterday. Glad that's over with.

Jen-Hope you make it to your apts safely today. Be careful out there, people drive like it's dry roads even if they're snow covered.

Carrie-Nice name change.

Dedrie-I think your husband and mine are two of a kind. Mine has waited on me hand and foot since I've been laid up. I can do a lot more now but there's still things I can't or have trouble doing so he does them without complaint. We are so lucky!!

Janet-I hope you have more discipline than me, I get distracted very easily, but I wind up getting the job done eventually.

Cheryl-Hope you can hear today. Glad you're felling some better.

Stay warm and safe.

Hi Team!

I awoke to snow again this morning. School was already out due to being the end of the term, but Hana and I have dentist appointments at 10AM and I really hate going out in this stuff. Hopefully the roads will have been plowed and salted by then.

Carrie, I noticed the new name right away. It's a good one!

Suzzy, We were not alone in the snacking department this weekend. I was not great Sunday or Monday, but I am back on the wagon today!

Dedrie, Can I borrow your husband???

Janet, It sounds like you are getting things well planned out for doing much of your work from home. It definitely takes planning because you will find that there are a million things that can interrupt and change your day. I have worked from home for 23 years (since right after Alex was born) and it has been a blessing in some ways and a curse in others. Let me know how it goes. I am always open to new tips on staying sane while juggling it all!

Cheryl, I hope those ears open today! That is so incredibly annoying. I don't know how you have taken it so long.

Donna, Good luck with the doctor. I hope you can go back to work!

Have a spectacular day! emoticon

Hi Sparkers,

I like the new name!

Yesterday after work I was soooo tired I did absolutely nothing. Hubby saw it in my face and gave the kids dinner and put them to bed. He's the BEST! This morning already, I have gotten in my morning workout to now head out to work. The kids have a 2 hour delay and hubby will be working from home in the morning hours. I wish I had a job that I could do from home and still be paid. I am getting breakfast and lunch packed to have no excuses during the day.

Hi Team! I had a good day today. After posting this morning, I got some things done for my mom, then did 20 minutes on the Norditrack, stacked a load of wood for an hour then went to tutor and Zumba. Didn't realize it started snowing this afternoon, but we've got almost 4 inches since noon. It was icky driving into town, but what is worse is having to clean your car off each time you stop somewhere.

Anyways I'm settled for the evening and hoping to relax after all the calories I burned. I want to get to sleep early tonight so I'm fresh for work tomorrow.

Cheryl - Glad you're feeling better, even if you aren't 100%. Hope the rest of January gives you a better start to the new year.

Donna - I've got my fingers crossed for you! Glad you're getting around better.

Have a good evening!

Afternoon Sparkers. My colonoscopy came out clear except for some inside hemmoroids. Nothing major and they gave me some literature to help eleviate them. Hope it works. I took a banana with me to eat on the way home because I knew I'd be hungry. It was nearly 11 this morning when I got out of there and I hadn't had anything to eat since 6pm. Since arriving home I've had some whole wheat cheese crackers, sugar free Jello and popcorn.

I am walking more and more without a boot at home. Still can't put a shoe on yet. Soon I hope. The swelling from Sunday is gone, thankfully. I'm hoping the doc will let me go back to work after my appt. tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed. Hopefully I can drive legally too, if only to and from work. I'll have to work something else out if I still can't drive.

Everyone is doing real well with their programs. Stick to what you know and you'll be fine.

Hope everyone has a great day. Stay warm.

Hi All,

Well, my dang ears are still plugged. It's making me crazy! Today was my 5th day of antibiotics and I expected them to be cleared up by now. I am feeling much better other than that. I think I'm healthy enough to get back to exercise tomorrow.

My weight stayed the same again. I'm very disappointed, however I haven't exercised at all this past week so guess I couldn't expect much. I am going to make the most of the second have of the month.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Good morning Team! I didn't sleep well overnight, but realized I didn't take my melatonin so that is probably the reason. Even with the later than hoped for start, I'm off to a good one. I thought my weigh in wouldn't be great since I had popcorn last night (I love it but I always feel bloated the next day.) Anyways, I'm 3 pounds down since last week! Now that I'll be home more often, I'm going to see how being able to exercise and log my food more often will keep me on track. As a matter of fact, as soon as I'm done visiting I'm going to do a home workout to start my day right. That would be a good way to start my week, too!

Dedrie - Hope your day isn't too long with the lack of sleep. In a way, I'm glad I slept in so I was able to get my 7 hours in although I'll need to get to bed early to get up for work tomorrow. Mom and Dad don't travel too much in the winter. Dad is a CPA and is super busy during tax season, but by the end of it the weather is mostly better and they usually take off for a long trip south. Hope you have a good day and are able to get your workout in!

Jen - Glad you were able to spend some time with Alex, and I hope he is feeling better soon. It was nice the whole family could be there to celebrate with him too. Hope your work week goes better than the last one!

Suzzy - Don't feel too bad about the healthy set back this weekend. Even leaders slip up now and then. But if anyone can get back on track, I know you can! All that shoveling probably did a number on your back. I'm glad the sun is shining so you don't have to shovel more today. Although it is a workout, I like to control what kinds of workouts I do!

Carrie - Sounds like you've got a great workout schedule planned! I wish I was more of a morning person and would get up to get a short workout in, too. As is, that is a long term habit change and not on the short list of goals right now. Good luck sticking to it!

Enjoy your day!

last week i was working out anywhere from 10-20 minutes in the morning before i went to school. Then i would work out another 30 minutes at curves in the afternoon/evening time depending on what time i got done with school. I am going to continue that schedule this week as well

Good morning everyone,
it is coooold out there but the sun is shining brightly and that makes for a pleasant day.
UNfortunately my back has decided to continue giving me pain but I will get through it.

I came home yesterday from my overnight stay at my moms to find that my little puppy was no longer a puppy. She has begun her first heat. I had to go to the pet store to get her a diaper but it is one that can be washed and I just line it with panty liners so they can be changed regularly.

WE have not decided if we will breed her or not but the more I think of all the work it is, the more I think we will get her spayed when this heat is over with. We had a Maltese a few years back which we bred twice and it was such a wonderful time but we were both a lot younger then with more energy to take care of a dog that was pregnant then whelping then taking care to make sure the puppies were well looked after for 8 weeks until they were adopted. And then of course we couldn't help but keep one so we ended up be a 2 dog family from that day forward.

If we do decide to breed Sassy, we will need to wait for her to go through two more heats because the best breeding age is after they are 2 years old when the eggs are mature. This makes for healthier puppies and is better for the mother not to be bred too young.

Any ways, we have a decision to make in the next few months.

I didn't do well on the weekend with snacking because I had a couple of vodka coolers Saturday night as well my mother had bought a bag of chips (Lays)which is my addiction and I am truly unable to resist if they are in the house.
I did manage to eat only a third of the bag but we had chicken wings for dinner and potato wedges which are deep fried foods.

I did not gain any weight but I did not lose any weight either last week and I am afraid I am a disappointment to myself and the Blue Team where I am the leader and should be leading be example. emoticon

I promise that this week I will be diligent with my nutrition and I also hope to get more cardio in.
I think I can use some pushing okay ladies.

I do wish everyone a great week ahead and as I always say, make it a healthy one.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I didn't make it here yesterday. I got up and got started with my email and SP stuff, but Alex got up early and I wanted to spend the day with him, so we went to the family room to share breakfast and a movie.

He was feeling better since I got him to the doctor the day before and onto some antibiotics, but he was far from well. He slept on and off during the day, but we got a nice celebration in with the whole family.

Carrie, I would suggest that you find some easy way to add additional protein to your diet (along with Dedrie's suggestion for fresh fruit and veggies) to supplement what you Mom is preparing. This can be done with canned tuna or salmon or other fish. You could purchase a rotisserie chicken already prepared at the grocery store. You could make hard-boiled eggs and use just the egg white or all of the egg at times. You can purchase from fish fillets and cook a number of them to eat over several days. With any of these things, you wouldn't have to be in your mom's way in the kitchen when she is cooking, but would have the protein you need to supplement your meals.

Have a great day, everyone.

GM Sparkers, I am up bright and early to head out the door to work. Since I live sooo close to work, I was still able to get 5 hours of sleep. I wasn't able to get in my workout this morning and promise to get one in later. Have a wonderful day!
