Hi Team,

Feeling much better today, however, I am tired tonight after working all day.

I wrote a very cleansing blog last night and feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

I am ready to kick some booty! 2011 will be a very good year!

Greeting My Spark Friends!

I hope you all are having a WONDERFUL hump day!!! I caught a mini break (aahhhh...) and was able to catch up on some of the post. :) Nicolas is playing with his baby brother keeping him occupied for me. Lol... I came in from work and went straight for the shower. I overheard Nicolas telling his Dad that "Boy, Daddy - Mommy looks tired". Lol... Wow... Guess he's helping me out now. What a sweetie. I'm going to enjoy it while it last. :)

Suzzy, WTG on the weight loss!!!

Janet, Brrr... sounds cold there. They keep saying we're supposed to get flurries, but so far no snow in CT. Well not in my city. I must say, I'm not looking forward to it this year.

Dedrie, which team is left standing on BL? I didn't watch it this season. I'm always routing for the black team. :)

Donna, sounds like you got the royal treatment at your Christmas party. :) Sounds like you had a good time.

Well, I'm off to check on the kiddies who are much too quiet now!! Hope you all have a wonderful night!!!

Morning team. The Christmas party last night was great. Everyone was so nice to me. They got my plate and drinks. It was just hard to manuver the stairs but I managed. Tonight DH and I are going to our oldest granddaughter's school Christmas concert. She's 10. Yesterday was her sister's, she's 6. I opted not to go to that as I didn't think I'd have the energy to do two things in one day. DH went last night then took her home. He said it was good.

Been keeping myself "busy" on computer, wrapping gifts, doing Christmas letter, etc. Anything I can do sitting or laying.

The guys got the furnace in yesterday. I cranked up the electric heater and pulled it close to keep warm. They were finished about 3:45 yesterday afternoon.

Hope everyone is feeling well today. Baby, it's cold outside. I think the whole US is in a deep freeze. My DIL in Florida texted me and said it was 29 with wind there this morning. That's really cold for Florida this time of year. Not good for the citrus and strawberries. We're still waiting for our first real snowfall. Not anxiously, but waiting. It may come Sunday. We'll see.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe and has a great day.

Good morning, Team!

I sure hope that Tricia, Cheryl and Dedrie's daughter all get well soon!

Suzzy, I hope there is a cancellation and that Brian gets his surgery without too much of a wait.

Donna, I'm glad to hear that things are beginning to get back to normal.

Tameka, My kids were actually just the opposite. In fact, my first was so difficult that we postponed having the second a year more than we had originally planned. After that experience, the second seemed to practically raise himself! (Which may be why a third came along!)

Dedrie, It is wonderful to be all settled! Hana is doing wonderfully in school and just loves everything about our new home/community!

Janet, Be careful on those icy roads!

I have lots to get done today so gotta run!

Hugs,

Jen emoticon

Good evening Sparkers,

Tameka, it is always great to see that your are doing well.

Cheryl, how are you feeling today? Were you able to get some well needed rest? Get well soon my friend!

Tricia, sending you some get well vibes!

Donna, I am sooo proud of you for staying focused even with your soft cast on. You have proven to be a fighter and stron women. How was TOP tonight? I just know when you do get back on the scale, you will see great results.

Suzzy, I can't wait for k daughter to star doing Mughals for me. Your such a great daughter! My daughter has recovered very quickly, thanks for asking. WTG on your 3 pounds gone already, you are doing soooo well.

Janet, I am sure you are happy to have a some what working bathroom and I home your guys finish really soon. Drive safely through all of this bad weather you are having. The first snowfall really tells us it's winter. In a few months we will have warm weather again. My baby girl is feeling better already. She recovers sooo quickly, which I am thankful for.

This has been the first season that I have watched the biggest loser all the way through. I am soooo inspired by how much they have accomplished and really wish them all the best. I am thankful that they let us into their weight loss journey to know that it can be done. Maybe not as quickly, but we can do this! I sooo can't wait until the finally next Tuesday to see how everyone looks.

Hi Team! The Lake Effect snow machine was turned on here in Michigan. It is like a roulette wheel, round and round it goes, where it dumps all the snow no one knows - until it's too late! We got just enough to make the roads turn to ice, but there were some areas that got over a foot yesterday. To top it off it is darn right cold!

It is cold here in the office too. I've got the space heater turned on but I'm still chilly. The guys were working on the bathroom again so they were letting a lot of cold air in from outside. They aren't done with it yet, but at least it is functional in the essential areas.

Haven't gotten a lot done here tonight so far. I had to go to the church tonight after I left work so I got a late start here. I'm not going to stay too late though. I figure the best way to warm up is to get some exercise in tonight when I get home.

Suzzy - Welcome home! Sounds like everyone there missed you while you were gone. Not too late to join the exercise challenge this month and get back in the swing of things! I love your snow beard picture. My dog loves the snow too, but she's all black so it really stands out!

Dedrie - You've again motivated me to get a Tuesday night workout in (always a challenge for me!) Hope your daughter is feeling better soon!

Jen - Your "normal" days always sound so busy! Glad you're getting settled in your new home for the holidays!

Donna - Now that you've given "birth" I don't want to know the weight! Sounds like it was a lot of labor though! Glad things are moving for you again. Take it easy on that foot so you can come back to Zumba soon!

Tameka - Sounds like you're getting a workout in chasing after Noah! Hope you are able to find your groove again soon.

Cheryl - I hope you were able to get plenty of rest today. I'm sure all the hard work and being outside is what weakened your imunity. Sip some tea and sleep so you can feel better soon!

Tricia - Same goes for you about getting some rest. All that traveling around probably wore you down. Be sure to get your Vit C and sleep!

I've got a few more things to do and I'm out of here. See you Thursday!

He everyone,

was busy today as I went to visit my mom and cut her hair. She won't let a hairdresser do her hair because they never do what she wants. I have been doing her hair for so long now I should have enough hours to be a licensed stylist LOL

I love doing it for my mom though . IT would have been an alternate career choice if I had not become a nurse. My youngest daughter took on the career of a hair stylist and loves it.

My dear hubby Brian got the verdict yesterday from the surgeon. Both if his knees are beyond repair and he needs both of them completely replaced. He will have them done separately the second one being after he is completely recovered from the first. The surgeon says it will be a 3 to 6 month recovery period for him. Hubby is afraid of going under anesthetic so I have been trying to talk him into having a spinal and staying awake for the procedure.

We watched an operation live on line and he doesn't want to be awake. The date has not be set yet but there is a 3-6 month waiting period. He has been placed on a cancellation list due to the severity of his pain.
Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

I was so pleased to step on the scale and was down 3 of the 4 pounds that I gained while away. I guess it was a lot of water retention. Hopefully tomorrow I will see the other pound gone as I have been very rigid in my nutrition plan and staying within calories and nutrients.

Cheryl and Tricia, hope you get better soon. You have to be in the pink for Christmas so you can enjoy it to the fullest.

Dedrie I hope your little girl is feeling better soon. I am so proud of you getting an hour on the treadmill in spite of your fatigue. Way to go girl!

Tameka, good to see you honey. Being mommy to 2 babies makes for a very busy day and night. Try to find some time for yourself okay.

Donna I bet you feel a lot lighter now that your body is beginning to act normal now. Hope your new furnace is in lickety split. We had a new high energy one put in last year and with a government incentive they paid for half of it.

DJ. good idea for the daily challenges. I hope you will get lots of participation from the members.

Well I betterget moving along here but want to wish everyone a happy and restfull evening. emoticon

Good morning everyone. Sorry to hear that Cheryl and Tricialici aren't feeling well. Hope it passes quickly.

I finally have gotten things "moving". I strained so hard yesterday that my back was sore last night and I had a headache. Oh, my aching butt. I was so wiped out last night and I got cold. Don't know what that was all about but I had to put a fleece jacket on and wrap up in a quilt to get warm. It only took 6 laxative pills. I've never been that constipated in my life and hope I never will be again.

Tonight I have TOPS and our Christmas party. I probably won't be weighing in with this soft cast on my foot. It weighs way too much. I'll wait until next week when hopefully I'll have a boot on that I can take off. It wouldn't be an accurate weight anyways and I can't put any weight on that foot.

We should be getting a new furnace put in today, so far they haven't gotten here but then it's only 7:40 in the morning. I expect by 8. DH was supposed to call them and see what time they would be here then call me but I haven't heard anything yet. I have an electric heater ready to go as they will have to cut the heat off to replace it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi Team,

Just checking in real quick. Been down sick with a chest cold all weekend. I think I just over did it last week with all the decorating and activities at work. Plus decorating the bus for the parade in the freezing cold wind. I'll probably stay home from work tomorrow to make sure I get as healthy as possible before the big push toward Christmas.

Yes Dedrie, I think I have all the decorating at work done. I put up a 12 foot tree and 2 7 foot trees, icicle lights in the dining room and various other decorations. All that while trying to do my regular activities and drive the bus. No wonder I'm exhausted.

Yes Jen, I am sewing for Christmas. I made flannel jammies for my 2 year old grandson and am making snuggies for the 3 girls. Have only one more snuggie to go.

Also trying to get the house cleaned before my daughter arrives home from New York for a week at Christmas. Unfortunately, I didn't get anything done like I had planned this weekend. Just laid low.

Spark ya all later!

Evening All,

I just wanted to check in to say hello to everyone! I did read through the post, but can't respond. Noah lasted just long enough and is now demanding my attention. Does anyone else have the "if my second were my first" child?? Lol... Nicolas was a cake walk compared to my Noah! Lol...

I'm hoping to finally get into my spark groove again and stick with it this time!!!

Have an AWESOME night all!!!

Good evening all,

Jen, you are soo right, I finally have my motivation again and it feels great. How does it feels to be 100% moved in and have everything put away? You sound sloop much happier, which makes me happy. How is Hana doing in school?

Donna, you totally sound energized and I am glad you are still taking things easy and not pushing yourself. We are surely working out for you, which allows for you to relax. Is it crazy that haven't even started my shopping yet and you are almost all wrapped?

Suzzy, I am sure you want to just head back and enjoy the beautiful weather and fresh water. Just keep thinking sunshine while shoveling. I do hope the snow isn't heading our way yet.

My day at work was pretty much non stop today, but productive. This evening I jumped on the treadmill as promised and got in my hour walk. I am proud of myself because normally I take care of the kids and just too tired to do anything. My poor daughter isn't feeling well and I hope it passes quickly for her. I really don't like it when she's not her normal self. She nearly was able to stay awake to finish her homework and has a fever.

Off I go to get my son dinner!

Good morning everyone,

well getting up this morning was a far cry from what I am used to . Instead of going to the ocean for a swim and soaking up the sun, I ate breakfast and donned my winter woollies and went outside to shovel snow for a half hour. Yes we got our first snow today and it is still coming down.

I am going to upload a picture of my puppy Sassy to my profile because she just loves the snow and wouldn't come in for over 40 minutes this morning. With her being ShihTsu and long hair, the snow clumped to her fur. She is wanting to go out again to play but I just got her all dried off.
This is going to be a very interesting winter if decide to keep her hair growing.

It felt so good to just have a cup of tea with toast and peanut butter for breakfast instead of all the other foods that were laid pout and tempting at the resort.

I can imagine by the end of this week I will have shed the vacation weight. I am very determined and the snow shoveling will add to my cardio as long as I don't lift the shovel and only push it. With my back, my doctor has forbid me to shovel snow but I compromise with pushing the snow to the side and letting hubby and my son do the piling of it.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for the welcome back.

Donna, I am so happy to hear you are "heeling" nicely

Good morning gang. Glad to see everyone doing well. I am not having a "coming out" party yet, but soon I hope. I'll be so glad. It's like having a kid.

We didn't get the tree up yesterday but we did put a good dent in wrapping gifts. All the gifts that were under the bed are now downstairs to be wrapped and tagged. I'll work on them as I feel like it today. I found that I can't hang my foot down for more than 1/2 hour at a time or it starts to ache but if even if I can only do a few gifts at a time I'll be that much closer to being done.

I am home alone today, my SIL is only a phone call away if I need her. I promise I'll behave and not do something I think I can do only to find out it was a dumb idea and be sorry.

Suzzy-so glad to see you back and that you made it home safely. I'm sure you'll see that scale go back down in short order.

Jen-glad you feel better. I's a bummer to be sick any time of year, especially during Christmas.

Good going, Dedrie on all the exercise.

Janet-can I go to Zumba with you? I sure do miss it.

Gotta run team. I'll check back in later.

Hi Team!

Suzzy, We are so glad to have you back safely! You will kick those extra pounds away in no time.

Dooba! I hope things "come out" alright very soon!

Janet, I hope you soon have a place for things to come out alright!!

Cheryl, Are you sewing for Christmas?

Dedrie, I am glad to see you motivated once again!

I feel much better. Yesterday was completely back to normal. I finally completed the last part of our move. I have had four boxes of Alex's books sitting in our upstairs hallway since the day we moved in. I have been waiting for a bookcase to put in his room. I have shopped and watched for sales with no luck. I finally decided to move a bookcase home from my office at work. I bought it years ago and it has held my college and graduate school books, which I haven't looked at in years. I decided to box up those books and donate most of them, move the bookcase home and add two chairs to my office which will come in handy when we need a space for meetings that need more privacy than our conference room offers. Spencer came by my office last Thursday and moved it in his Jeep. Now the hallway is no longer a storage shed and the room for Alex/guests is complete!

I also got the tree up, but it is not completely decorated yet and there are boxes everywhere. I know what I will be doing today!

Have a great one!

Good Morning Sparkers,

Cheryl, LOL I am glad I make you laugh emoticon Are you finally done with decorating at work? Were you able to get some well needed rest after a busy last few days?

Jen, I do hope that you feel even better this morning. Were you able to take it easy yesterday?

Hi Dooba Donna, LOL, LOL. It's great to hear that you are starting to feel better more and more each day. I do hope you solve your problem soon because I know how uncomfortable it can get.

Janet, you surely have a busy day ahead for you. Keep on smiling girl and enjoying your time at the garden. Have fun at Zumba tonight! My babies did fall out the other night just as expected.

Suzzy, I am glad that you made it back safely and I am sure your loved ones are soooo happy you are back home. It always feels nice when you are missed. We missed you too! I just know you'll get that scale right back down in no time.

Checking through e-mails I am now late with getting ready for work. Bummer because I have some more e-mails to get through. Have a great day!

Hi everyone,
we made our flight back safely and a half hour ahead of schedule. It was wonderful getting home sooner to my 2 fur babies jumping all over me and my granddaughter actually taking an hour to sit and chat with me and share her week while we were away. I think this is the most we have shared in a long time LOL.

Well, I have some damage control according to the scale but I will re-weigh myself in the morning to see just how much. emoticon I am not going to have my weight tracker visible for the month of December and on January 1st I will once again make it visible with hopefully good numbers.

More importantly than the numbers on the scale I plan on reporting good nutrition and fitness results.
I will begin tomorrow getting back to my fitness routine. Don't think I will be power walking as it is snowing right now and I won't power walk in the snow as I have a fear of falling on slippery ground.

My stair master will be getting a good workout however and I will be able to get my cardio in with in on some of the week days.

No sense kicking myself for my poor choices while on vacation because I will be back on the healthy road in the morning and will continue to strive to be the healthiest I can be. I will looking at my friends here for your continued support through your own achievements which inspire me and you supportive comments that help us all as a team

I do hope everyone has had a great start to this month and will continue to make healthy choices.

Good night all and I'll be back tomorrow emoticon

Hi Team! Thought I'd check in after church tonight. I'm not sure how late I'll stay as the guys are still working on the bathroom here, and I've got a busy day tomorrow.

They ran into a snag in the rennovation so I'm still limiting my time here. Hopefully they will have it up and operational soon! It has made me more efficient on getting done what needs to be done. I wish I could spend some time holiday shopping online, though. I've got a ways to go to be done!

Tomorrow morning I'm helping out greeting school groups at the gardens. The education staff used to greet each group, but it can be quite hectic during the busy seasons so they've created a bunch of volunteer bus buddies to handle it. We coordinate details with the teachers and go over the rules with the students and chaperones - all with a smile and a welcome. It can be a demanding job at times, but it is a lot of fun. I'm going to try and get a walk in after my shift before heading off for tutoring and Zumba in the evening. I'm sure I'll sleep well tomorrow!

Dedrie - Hope the kids slept like a light! Is your work week better this week?

Cheryl - Glad your decorating efforts were well received. Be sure to take your Vitamin C and get some rest. The flu is going around here and my vitamins and supplements are what's keeping me healthy.

Jen - Be sure you get some well deserved rest before you tackle the big jobs this week. Hope you are feeling better!

Donna - Glad you're doing well and I hope everything comes out for you - literally! Thanks for reminding me I've got my Christmas cards to do, too.

Have a great start to the work week everyone!

Hi team. This is Dooba checking in. I've never been called that but I could live with that as a nickname. LOL

I'm doing okay, still haven't done #2. Taken 2 doses of laxative but nothing yet. I pray soon! I get queasy every morning and I'm sure that's why. I'm positive that's why I can't eat very well yet either. Maybe that's a good thing.

Good to hear everyone is doing well. I hope DH will get our tree up this afternoon. He went to church because we have our annual meeting today and since I'm treasurer, he took my report with him. Then he's going up to a restaraunt to get me a nice salad. I get really hungry for them and this place makes really good ones. I'll order him a hamburger.

Well I'd better get some more posting done and I have to get busy on my Christmas letter so I can get some printed off and start getting cards addressed and in the mail.

Thanks for all the prayers. Dooba!

Hi Everyone!

I don't know where this last week went. It is all a blur of activity, running from one thing to another. So far the next week looks much better. Hopefully, I will find some time for Christmas preparations.

The memorial service was lovely. There was a full honor guard there as he retired as a Lt. Col. from the Army Air Corps. It was a very pretty ceremony. Then the rest of the day was spent together just eating, drinking and talking.

I felt lousy yesterday and pretty much got nothing accomplished. I feel 95% better today, but my stomach is still a little queasy and sensitive.

I hope to get the Christmas tree up today and do some decorating outside. It is really cold here, though, and I am not looking forward to going out in it.

Donna, I am glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery.

Tameka, It is great to hear from you.

Suzzy, Have a safe trip home.

Cheryl, I hope you have fun at the parade.

Dedrie, What great kids you have! (They come from a great mom!)

Janet, I hope you have a bathroom back soon. That is a real bummer!

Jen

Dedrie you crack me up! You type so fast sometimes that you make funny words and calling Donna "Dooba" is very funny!

The parade was a hit tonight. We made the bus look somewhat like a train and put lights on it. We got lots of cheers from the crowds and the residents absolutely loved it!

I am so burnt out on decorating and haven't even started on my own home yet. The good news is that it has given me lots of exercise minutes this week.

Feels like I'm trying to catch a cold so glad that I have the next two days off. Need to get some deep cleaning done in the kitchen and also need to make one more snuggie for Xmas.

Hope you all have a Super Sunday!

Dooba, it is great to hear that your recovery is going well so far and I wish you continued progress. Your hubby sounds like a great man to help you run your errands and get you out the house for some fresh air. Keep taking it easy and I surely will be getting in those workouts for you.

Janet, I do hope your family is able to fix the bathroom soon for you and that you were able to get enough accomplished today. I totally remember the days when my aunt allowed me to drive her car for the first time. She was a nervous reck and i totally enjoyed each moment. It took her such a long time to trust my driving skills, lol. You surely sound like a great aunt and I am sure your niece appreciates everything. I surely wouldn't trade my babies if my life counted on it. They are soooo good to me and hubby.

Normally my babies are in my bed by 8pm, but tonight I stretched it for another journey. This way once they hit the pillow, they should go right out until morning. Have a great night sparkers.

Hi Team! Sorry I didn't make it here Friday, but we ended up doing a birthday celebration for my niece. She was going to her friends in the evening, but the family came down to the gardens after my shift to see the holiday exhibit and go to lunch. We had a good time, but didn't end up at home until evening and by then I was just too pooped to get back down to the office.

We had a good time and my niece was excited that I let her drive my car home from the gardens. Pretty gutsy since it was 5 o'clock traffic by then, but it was a straight shot home and she did fine. It is hard to believe she has her permit already. I guess I'll always think of her as a little girl. She reminds me so much of my sister it is silly. And she gets upset when I tell her that, since she is now into that teenager phase when her mother drives her crazy.

I decided to make it into the office tonight to finish a few things, but I still can't stay long since the bathroom is still out of comission. My dad and brother are coming down tomorrow afternoon to work on it and I hope they finish it soon. I'm trying to get some things done before year end and it is hard to work around them and no bathroom. Anyways, I'd better get busy before the "need" arises and I'll have to go home.

Suzzy - Sorry your hubby didn't enjoy the trip so much because of the pain, but I hope you make it home safe and sound. It's always nice to come home and get back into a routine again. Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Jen - Glad you survived your hectic week. Hope the emotions weren't too bad yesterday and you are able to rest this weekend.

Donna - Glad the surgery went well. Your spirits seem high even while there are things to get you down. Don't worry about talking to us about topics you might not think are nice to talk about. We're all family here, and hoping you recover well and soon. Take it easy!

Tameka - So good to see you! I know what you mean about the year slipping away, but at least you have an excuse in being a busy mom. Hope you are able to join us when you can!

Cheryl - Hope the parade was a big hit and you survived all the decorating! I have to admit one of the reasons why I love the holiday display at the gardens is because I didn't have to decorate it!

Dedrie - Boy it sure sounds like you raised some self-sufficient and courteous kids! Glad you were able to get some well deserved rest yesterday. Sounds like you're totally revived today!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Afternoon Sparkers. Feeling okay today, I went 5 hours between taking a pain pill today, that's an improvement over taking them every 4 hours since Wednesday so at least that is subsiding some. I have now put a call into the doctor to see if I can take anything to help my bowels move. I haven't gone since before surgery and starting to get pretty miserable. I have been taking my Fiber Choice tablets, drinking water and Blueberry juice to no avail. Hopefully I'll get some relief soon. I know, it's not a very nice thing to write about but it's life right now.

I ventured upstairs today with hubby's help so that I could wash my hair and clean up some. Something else that hadn't been done since Wednesday. It felt good. We also went for a ride today. I needed to go to the bank and get a few things from the grocery store. I stayed in the car while DH did everything but just being out of the house was good.

Glad to see you all getting in your exercise and eating well. Do some exercise for me will you?

Tameka-good to hear from you! Motherhood is so awesome but takes a lot of time, all for the good of course.

Suzzy-be safe on your way home tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and prayers. Take care.

Good evening sparkers,

Jen, Were you able to get a good nights rest after another long day day?

Donna, I am sooo sorry that you were in soooo much pain yesterday and glad to hear that your hubby is right their for you. You are in my prayers for a quick recovery.

Tameka, it is great to see you are doing well. A mother's job is never done!

Cheryl, surely sounds like you are in the holiday spirit, woohoo! Keep having fun decorating and let us know how your Parade goes tomorrow night. Wish I could be there to see you all.

Suzzy, travel back safely.

Ever since I woke up this morning, I just wanted to back right bak to bed. So, when got home I ate dinner and curled up on e couch. My kids are the best because they pretty much took care of themselves. They warmed up dinner, took a bath, played for a while and then went to bed. They surely know when mommy needs a break, I LOVE IT, LOL. Have a great night and I hope to get up in the morning to get in a workout routine.

Hello All,
just tomorrow left of our vacation then home Sunday. It's been great weather and will be difficult to return to cold and snow but none the less I am anxious to see my children, grandchildren and my fur babies.

Donna, glad the surgery went well for you. Be very careful with the crutches especially in the snow

This was our best day ever as far as weather and we had lots of swimming in the ocean and more sun bathing. We have certainly been well rested and now ready to return to the real world.

Looking forward to decorating my home for Christmas.

Have a great weekend and I'll be in touch once back home

Glad to see you stop in for a visit Tameka. You know the door is always open.

Donna, I am so glad to hear that everything is going well. Couldn't help but laugh at the thought of you going up the steps on your rear end. You just gotta do what you gotta do. LOL

I can't believe how exhausted I am. I decorated all day again at work. All most done. One more tree to put up. Tomorrow night is the local Holiday Light Parade. We are decorating the bus to look like the Polar Express train (I know, I know, more decorating). The girl scouts will be walking ahead of the bus dressed in their pj's. I think it will be real cute.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone. Just checking in. Surgery went well, it was getting to and from that was the chore. We went to the surgery center in the rain and came home in the snow. DH had planned on driving the car through the yard to the back of the house so that I'd only have one step to manuver but with all the rain he couldn't get up to the house with the car so I had to use the crutches in the snow from the garage to the house, about 100 yards. That was a real treat. DH was behind me the whole time. When I got to the house, I had 7 snowy steps to go up so I just turned around and sat down and scooted up each step until I got to the porch, then crawled into the house. Had to change clothes then, then I got settled onto the couch. The rest of the day I dozed off and on.

Yesterday I had a good deal of pain, even with the meds. I was almost to the point where I was going to call the doc but I didn't. It is 90% better today. I can't put any weight on that foot. I go back for follow-up on the 9th. Hopefully then she will put me in a surgical boot so that I can start to move the foot a little more. I'm in a splint and soft cast right now and cannpt move anything.

Well I'd better go. Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and prayers. Please keep them coming as I heal.

Donna

Hi Team!

Sorry for the quick stop. I was gone from home 15 1/2 hours yesterday. I got home at 10:30 last night. It was a productive day, but I'm glad it is over. This morning I have to go pick my car up from the body shop. It is now done. I can't wait to see it.

Today is the memorial service for Nora's father. I will pick Hana up from school early (she went back yesterday) and be there by about 10:30. I expect it to be another long day, and one full of emotions of all kinds.

just a quick stop in to say I am looking forward to getting back home now.
Hubby has been in so much pain with his knee, all we can think about is getting his surgery so he will get relief.

Weather here is excellent, hot and sunny and I spend most of my day in the ocean.
I do look forward to coming home and decorating for Christmas. Food here has not been the best so I am not eating very much. Mostly salad which I really am getting sick of.

Can't wait to do my own healthy cooking once home.
With the aid of a few glasses of champagne, I am keeping my spirits up but we will not use this resort again as it has really gone down in value since our last visit about 8 years ago.
Will post again once I am back home Sunday. The connection here is too slow and my laptop keyboard is too small for me.

Hi Team! Yesterday was fun as it was our first "sticky" snowfall so driving was a real wreak - literally for some. As a matter of fact I heard on the news this morning there was a fatal accident about a mile from our house. But given that intersection is horribly slippery under snowy conditions, I'm not surprised. We ended up with about 4-5" of lake effect snow. I made it through to my various destinations safely, but I was late for every one!

I did pretty good on my spreadsheet start yesterday. I went over my calorie range, but I'm on track today. I even went for a walk with the dog (over the tundra in driving snow) before going to Zumba last night, so I got quite the workout in. Tonight I'm planning on getting on the Norditrack then doing a half hour of my Biggest Loser DVD. And I can tell I'm drinking more water because I'm also going potty more often. Or maybe I'm just noticing it now because my dad is rennovating the bathroom at his office and it is out of commission right now. I guess I'm not working late tonight!

Jen - Glad you managed driving through the rain okay yesterday and I hope today is turning out great for you. Is Hana feeling any better?

Dedrie - Bummer about the work schedule. I guess there is some good news about being the official trainer in that you know you're doing a good job. Afterall, they want the new people to mimmick you! Thanks for keeping your eyes on my progress. I've noticed you made your 10 week goal so congrats!

Cheryl - Sorry to hear about your residents. I guess that is the nature of your business that there is usually only one reason why residents leave. Still hard to take, though. Congrats on being aware of your emotional eating. Awareness is the first step of overcoming it!

Tricia - Glad to see you back on track. I know what you mean about starting over again. It seems like I'm doing that every month! If you're looking for encouragement and some accountability in your exercise program, might I suggest joining the Exercise Challenge this month? I'll remind you weekly to get your last chance workouts in. Here's the link:

Hi everyone! I hope each of you are doing well! From the looks of the "chatter," life is keeping you busy! While December is going to be another busy month, I'm going to try to undo the damage from the last few weeks. I've had another backslide, and I really don't want to start completely over with this weight loss business. So I'm going to dig in my heels, and get in gear with exercising and watching my diet better. Today is a tricky day to start, as I'm still in Nebraska, and my daughter from Missouri will be here with her family soon. She's bringing croissants and fruit for lunch, and pizzas for dinner. The calories will be high, but I WON'T overeat!

Congrats Cheryl, on your mindful eating when emotions were high. I'm an emotional eater as well. I'm tempted to turn to food when I'm happy, sad, or stressed out! It's a constant battle, but as you saw, one that can be won.

Donna, hope you have a smooth and quick recovery!

All of the rest of you, good luck with your busy schedules, and with keeping your December habits HEALTHY!

I'm going to try to find a little more time for sparking this month. I think it will help me with my goal to lose some of the pounds I put on in the past few weeks. It always amazes me how slowly I lose, and how quickly I can gain. It doesn't seem fair, but my dad always said, "Life isn't fair, and the sooner you learn that, the happier you'll be!"

Hi Team,

I survived my day yesterday and, yes, it was productive and successful. I have a worse one today. I have an appointment for a leg treatment at 7:30 this morning. Then I drive an hour away to a meeting (which I expect to be stressful). Then I drive an hour back to my office for a full afternoon of executive team meeting. Spencer is coming by around 5PM to help me move a bookcase and some books home. Then at 7:30 I have a Board Meeting with the auditors in attendance giving their report. I won't see my house again until at least 10PM and possibly later.

Have a great day! Gotta run...... emoticon

I had a pretty rough few days. 3 of my residents passed away in as many days. The first 2 were on hospice and certainly not a complete surprise. However, the man that passed away today was only 60 and in pretty good health overall. Those always hit me the hardest, when there's no warning at all. We don't know yet if he had a seizure or cardiac arrest.

Also doing a lot of holiday decorating at work. Climbing up and down ladder, etc. So I am totally exhausted and wiped out.

I did notice something about myself today. I was pretty sure I had some "emotional eating" tendencies. But I was at Safeway shortly after I found out about my resident passing away and all I could thing about was how I could stuff my face! I just knew it would make me feel better. So I bought a pastrami sandwich for lunch. It satisfied my "craving" but I didn't go over my calories for the day. They had a deal where I could buy one and get the second one for half price, but I passed on that deal because I knew I would eat the other one too.

So now I know for sure that I am an emotional eater because it slapped me right in the face. The good news is that I realized what was happening when I was craving the food. I was totally "AWARE"! So brownie point for me.

Prayers are with you Donna!

Hope you are all having a good week!

Donna, you are surely in my prayers!

Janet, don't be sooo hard on yourself because I have faith that you will make it. Be strong and know that I have my eyes on you. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Jen, How were your meetings today? Were they proactive and worth the long rainy trip? How is Hana feeling tonight?

Today, worked totally kicked my butt because there is just a lot that needed to get done and I am yet again training someone. I am starting to not like training at a least when they first start because they don't know anything and they ask 10 million questions. Of course I understand the need for the questions, I guess I am just tired. I also found out that I am going to have a long week because I am not off until Wednesday the 8th.

Hi Team!

It is pouring down rain this morning and I have an hour's drive to Baltimore for a meeting. I dread the traffic. People in the DC area cannot drive when any type of precipitation occurs. There is a saying, "Instant idiots------------just add water.", and it definitely is true!

Hana is still sick. I just hate to leave her at home alone (even though she is 16), but I have no choice today. I should be able to be home by 3 or so and, hopefully, she will sleep through most of it.
I took her to the doctor yesterday because her cough had turned chesty. Now she is on an antibiotic, so I hope things finally turn around.

Send good vibes to Donna this morning!

Have a great day!

Hi Team! I can't believe November is over, either. This year went by too fast.

I had a good time over the weekend. I got a lot of work done on Friday and Saturday. Then visited with family all day Sunday. I thought I did very well with portion control and what I ate, but I still didn't have a great result on the scale today. I've got a long way to go to reach my year end goals and only 31 days to get there! Why is getting back to basics so hard?

I'm going to be posting my weekly goals through the month and share how I'm doing with you. Maybe that will help keep me accountable. My goals this week are to get at least 30 minutes of exercise each day, log all my meals, and get my water requirements in. Wish me luck!

Jen - Sounds like you had a great weekend with the family. Good luck with your busy schedule. I hope Hana feels better, too.

Dedrie - You are such an inspiration in your challenges for yourself. I'm taking your advice for December and going back to recording on my spreadsheet. Something's gotta be done!

Donna - Congrats on getting your last minute workouts and errands in! Good luck tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you.

Cheryl - LOL! I think I'm in the same boat. One of my goals for December is to get back in the habit of logging everything I eat.

Suzzy - Glad you're having a great time. Enjoy the sun and warmth for us, too!

I've posted the thread for the December exercise challenge. Please come and join us this month! Here's the link:

good luck Donna

today I have stuck to just veggies and 2 small pieces of goat which was delicious. Have drank lots of water. I've been a good girl.

Sun and ocean is awesome and it has been nice and hot for me with a breeze at the ocean which fees so good.
More burn today but not too bad. Wearing a #30 sn block emoticon emoticon

I found out that I have to be at the surgical center by 6:30 am and I'll be in surgery within an hour after that. The surgery should last about 1 1/2 hours then probably an hour or so for recovery. I'm glad it's so early in the morning, let's do it and get it done!

I will need all the help I can get after this vacation. Food is plentiful and some very tastey. The steaks are the best.

Will be back on Sunday.
The sun and ocean are great!
