Happy New Year everyone,

we celebrated quietly at home with our granddaughter watching a movie then the Criminal Minds marathon.
Watched the Bare Naked Ladies in Niagara Falls via television for the half hour before midnight. AS soon as we said Happy New Year it was into bed as we were all so tired.

Getting ready now to go to my Mom's for dinner which was unexpected but she insisted on us coming so we are going to have a wonderful roast dinner.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating the new Year 2011.

It's pouring rain here and going to reach the low 50's which is totally not the typical weather for us in Southern Ontario. I love the warmth but wish it wasn't raining or dismal.

Oh well, it is a new day and a new year and I am grateful for waking up to it.

Have a good one everyone!

Good morning and HAPPY NEW YEAR! We watched the ball drop at Times Square on TV then came home and went to bed. I think it was about 1 am when we crawled in bed and I woke up just after six.

We are going to take down the tree today and I'm going to work on my church books some more. I must get them ready by next Sunday.

Hope everyone has a great Jan. 1. A new day and year with endless possibilities.

Good afternoon team and Happy New Year's eve. I hope everyone has a good time tonight but try not to over-indulge. We are going to Red Lobster with family then to my DIL's parents to ring in the new year. We figured this way we wouldn't pick at food as much. I made a Sugar Free Peanut Butter Pie to take for dessert. It's easy to make and very good. I'll give you the recipe sometime.

I am starting to walk a little bit without any crutches, just around the house of course. Day by day it's getting better. Pretty soon I'll be able to get back to Zumba, at least on the Wii.

Suzzy-thanks for those words of wisdom. They are oh, so true. We need to all stick together if we want to win this battle.

Enjoy the rest of the day and see you in 2011!

Hi Team! Just checking in before heading north for my new year's celebrations with friends.

Suzzy you sure said it best. I'm so thankful for this team and Sparkpeople to help me reach my healthy living goals. I know I've slipped and I haven't reach my goal weight, but I've made so much progress in healthier living that I know I'll get there. I'm really going to push and make 2011 the year to see big (positive) changes in my life. No one else but me can make it happen so I'm going to rely on this team to help see me through. I've got to write my list of goals for the year yet. But I'll have them down and will start working on them before the sun sets on Sunday.

Hope everyone enjoys their new year celebrations and thinks about what they would like to accomplish in 2011. Anything is possible!

Hello everyone and welcome to the last day of 2010.
AS our new year approaches I am certain that each of us has the same goals or similar in mind.

Most importantly is the one to live a healthy life that is enriched through good nutrition and individualized fitness programs to suit our needs and abilities.

My wish for all is the be able to continue this healthy trend no matter how many times we may slip. If we always pick ourselves up, we will be able to reach the goals we set out for ourselves. Don't focus so much on weight loss as much as the healthy living part.

Fitness in our life every day for at least 20 minutes and sensible eating will gain so much in the good way we will feel about ourselves. Weight loss will follow (for some more quickly than others).

If we keep in mind that we are on this journey together with friends that share a common factor and for many of us sharing the same interests, we will gain more than success of reaching of goals but friendships that will prevail for many years to come.

We are kind and supportive of each other and understanding when we need a push or a bravo. With friends like us, we will surely be able to stay on the healthy track and eventually reach our pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year filled with love of family and friends, healthy living and the wealth of knowing you are sooooo WORTH IT!

I love you all and thank you for your continued friendship and support

Suzzy

Hi Team!

It is great to see so many people back here again. I am so ready for the new year to begin. I have indulged and bulged and am ready to get back on track!

My parents will be here at any moment. My dad, Craig and the boys are working today to enclose the space under our deck/screened porch so that we can park our tractor and protect it and other equipment. While they are here we will celebrate my mother's birthday which was yesterday. Hana is having a sleepover/New Year's party tonight, and I don't know when I will get everything done!

Tomorrow begins a new year and I am ready for it! It is time to give some more focus to ME!

Happy New Year, my friends!emoticonemoticon

Hi Team! Another busy day today, but I managed to get a lot done after work - including the haircut I meant to get at the beginning of the month! Oh well, I guess it will be like Chinese New Year by bringing in a new hairdo and cutting off the old.

I still have a lot to do tonight when I get home. I've got to make banana bread and a cheese ball to bring with me this weekend. I don't like my banana bread, but my friends rave about it so I always try to bring a loaf or two when I visit. I'm also bringing veggies and dip so that I have some healthy choices to snack on Saturday. I think we are going to have a grazing day while we watch Michigan State and Michigan play in their bowl games. (Go State!)

I've also got to get some exercise in. I did about a half hour last night but it wasn't too intensive. My mom got a Wii Fit Plus with the board so she wanted me to set it up for her. I didn't mind the weigh-in on that as I was about 8 lbs lighter than on my regular scale. I guess I'll see tomorrow morning how I did over the holidays. I also got an exercise heart monitor wristwatch for Christmas. I can't wait to start using that for Zumba since it counts calories burned as well. I can finally stop guessing and take an actual reading. We start back up next Monday. In the meantime, I'll try and get a few Biggest Loser DVD workouts in at home.

Dedrie - Enjoy your quality time with your hubby!

Donna - How's your throat tickle? That was how my cold started so make sure you take your Vit C to build up your immune system. Good luck with the church books - you can do it!

Suzzy - Glad you weren't hurt too bad. That sure would have put a damper on reaching your goal wgt!

Cheryl - Hope you make it through the holiday and Birthdays without any gain on the scale. Good luck!

Hope everyone else is enjoying the season. I may stop back tomorrow before I head up north so I can post my weight. I'll also post the exercise challenge for January. Anyone interested?

Good Morning. Well I didn't do anything to my church books yesterday. They must get done soon. The hardest part is just getting started but it does take hours to do. I not only have a quarterly report to do, but also an annual report and they need to be audited by Jan. 10 when we have our meeting. I'd better get my mind set on doing them soon.

Suzzy-I'm glad you weren't too badly hurt. We really need to be careful. One bad fall can set us back for weeks or months.

Geema-I also have several birthdays in January. My youngest son is the 23rd, which was also my mom's birthday, my husband and brother's is on the 27th and my daughter is on the 29th.

Well gotta run. Stay warm.

Suzzy, so glad to hear that you didn't get hurt too badly. Sounds like you had a pretty bad fall.

Donna, I sure know what you mean about the wholesome Hallmark movies. We have Dish Network too and I've been enjoying a lot of them with my grandkids.

Dedrie, enjoy your time alone with hubby.

Janet, relax and have fun on your weekend with your friends. Sounds like you are always doing for others so I'm glad to hear that you are taking some time for yourself.

Jen, hope you had a good time in D.C.

Today is one of my granddaughters 9th birthday. We are going to their house for pizza and cake. I will have one piece of pizza and pass on the cake.

My son's birthday is on New Year's Day and then my oldest daughters birthday is Jan. 3rd. Then I will be done with holidays and birthdays for a while.

I am happy to say that I got a great power walk in as well as half an hour of strength training. Tonight I will bowl which will add to my fitness minutes.

The way I am feeling right now is that I can accomplish anything I want to. Have a great evening everyone.

Good morning,
well I snuck at peek at my scale this morning and wasn't too disappointed. I have 13 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight so this should not be hard to achieve if I stick to my goals.

I wanted to start exercising yesterday but I took a bad fall while I was standing on my bed trying to fix my blinds. I went sailing through the air and landed on my head, shoulder and elbow. I was sore and stiff all day but today just my elbow hurts if I happen to lean on it.
I am going to do some stair master this afternoon and this will get me warmed up for some strength training.

I also have bowling tonight so this will help me to keep limber.

Sending best wishes to all for a healthy and exciting day.

Good morning friends. I didn't sleep very well last night, I have this tickle in my throat. I don't have a cold or anything, just this tickle. Probably allergy or something. Anyways, I don't know how many times I woke up coughing. I hate that.

Last night for supper, DH stopped and picked up KFC. I ate one piece and he ate two then we put the rest in a bag and laid it on the counter because we didn't want to seal it up and put it away while it was still warm. Guess where it stayed all night, on the counter. What a waste. All that chicken and money wasted. But I guess it's better to throw it out than to get sick and I really didn't need to eat it anyways, it's just the thought of having to throw it all out.

I am enjoying watching all the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. We don't normaly get this channel, but DishNetwork is airing it for the holidays. I'll miss it when it's gone, such good, wholesome movies.

Well I guess I'd better get off here as I really need to work on church books today. I'm the treasurer and I have a lot of end-or-year stuff to get done.

Stay warm.

Good morning all, this morning I spent packing the kids suitcase to head to their grandmother's house for the next few days. Both myself and hubby have to work and it will be a nice break for us.

Suzzy, I know how successful you feel when you see a drop in the scale. Good luck with your first weigh in on the 9th.

Janet, I do hope that you are feeling even better today and that you were able to get a good nights rest. My family Christmas dinner went extremely well and organized. Everyone went home with very full bellies and doggie bags. Plus today I will be bringing them some more left overs for our lunch/dinner.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Hi Team! I would have checked in Sunday or Monday, but this cold is lingering just long enough to drain my energy. I slept most of both days and still feel like I could use another 8 hours. It sure made going to work hard today.

I've got my regular work week going, but I'm not going to the gardens on Friday so I can head up north to be with friends on NYE. I always spend new year's eve with them but this year there is a whole weekend planned. Which means I've got a lot to do Friday morning before I go.

Christmas was nice, but it felt like everyone was running off to somewhere. My sister and her family came down but couldn't stay late as they had animals to feed at home. Mom and Dad went down to Detroit on Sunday and Monday to take my uncle for some health testing and to visit my aunt. So I was able to get a lot of rest, but it didn't feel like our usual holiday together.

Jen - Glad you had a great holiday with your family. Hope you have a safe and fun day in DC.

Donna - Woo Hoo on the upcoming shopping spree! Glad the foot is healing well, too.

Cheryl - Sounds like you enjoyed your time off! Congrats on maintaining your weight, too. Probably from all that exercise you were able to get in!

Dedrie - So how did the big family party go at your house? I'm sure everyone had a great time, even though it is nice to have your house back.

Suzzy - Ha, ha! That would so NOT be me! I have enough to lose without the added pressure of losing more. Maybe I'll be that way once I reach my goal weight. Continuing a healthy trend would be worth doing that.

Hope everyone on the east coast is managing okay with the winter storm. They are talking rain for us on NYE and that would put a big damper in one of our activities this weekend. I can't believe I'm saying I'd rather have snow! Have a good week everyone. I'll see you Thursday after work.

Hello everyone,

well the Christmas celebrating is over and I vow not to step on the scale until January 9th. BY then if I have gained any weight through Christmas, I shall have lost it by then hopefully.

Today I start back to normal healthy eating, with my fitness routine included.
I admit I have over indulged in candy, and sweets although I have kept my meal portions normal. Exercise has been completely absent from my daily routine but as of today I am back to working out.

I hope everyone has had had a great Christmas and not gained too many pounds from indulging.
For those of you who have maintained, a BIG congrats for the self control.

In being honest, I purposely opted to gain a few pounds with indulging because (as silly as it sounds) I love the feeling I get when I see the scale going down and I have to work hard to get there. The feeling of that success is what makes me continue to keep within a healthy weight. To some maybe this sounds crazy and to others they may relate. For me, getting back on the wagon is easy enough, the challenge of carrying through my goals is what gives me the adrenalin rush.

Have a great day everyone and keep it healthy. I am off to have some water and do some cleaning.emoticon

Good afternoon Sparkers, family and friends have left and now my house is almost back to normal. Tomorrow I wil be bring my kids to my mothers house to spend some time for the next few days. I am thinking about picking the kids up new years eve after I get off from work because I always bring in the new year with them. Not sure though because hubby might have plans for us to go out.

Good morning. The doctor appt. yesterday went well. Our goal is to be off of crutches in two weeks. Maybe not be out of the boot but off crutches. I am to start exercising my foot by flexing it and also strengthening my leg. I have a stretchy band that I can use for that. Around the house, I have started walking with only one crutch. Going up and down stairs is still a treat.

As for going back to work, she said I could if money was a problem but she would rather that I at least be off crutches first. Money is not a problem right now and I still have the time off so I'll be home at least 2 more weeks. I'm going to call and talk to my manager today.

Jen-I hope you have a safe trip to DC. Enjoy the sights with Hana and your friends.

Have a great day.

Hi Team!

Today, Hana and I are headed to D.C. to the Holocaust Museum and Chinatown with friends. We will drive to the Metro and take it into town. I hope it won't be too cold today (has been pretty frigid lately) as there will be lots of walking.

How is everyone???emoticon

Cheryl,

Congratulations on not gaining during this holiday season. That is fabulous!

Hana is having a few friends over on New Year's Eve and the girls are staying afterward for a sleep over. I will have to be awake until midnight, I guess, but soon after I will be sound asleep.

Hi Team,

Hope everyone is recovering from the holidays. I was so thrilled today to find out that I haven't gained any weight these past couple of weeks. Woo Hoo!!

Today is the last day of my vacation. Back to the old grindstone tomorrow. My daughter is also leaving tomorrow. She's been here a week and we have had a great visit. It makes me sad to see her go, I don't know when I will get to see her again.

Does anyone have any plans for New Years Eve? I'll probably be asleep before midnight. LOL

Spark ya later!

Hi Everyone!

Donna, I'm so glad to hear that you had a good Christmas and that you are improving daily!

Today, I plan to make soup, tidy up around here and have some ME time. Tomorrow, Hana and I are headed into D.C. with Nora, her mom and her aunt to visit the Holocaust Museum and Chinatown. Her aunt is visiting from Colorado and has never been there before. Hana hasn't either (the Holocaust Museum, that is....she has been to Chinatown numerous times).

Wednesday, is dentist day for Hana, Spencer and myself. Thursday is my mother's birthday so we have to figure out some way to hook up with her. It is turning out to be a busy week..................

Have a great one!

Good day after the day after Christmas. LOL. Sorry I was MIA for two days. I see a lot of us were. It's better to enjoy the festivities and family but now it's back to business.

Christmas day we traveled to our son and DIL's to watch our granddaughter open her presents. She had great fun. From there, we went to our DIL's parent's house, ate a bite and opened some more gifts. DH and I got some nice things and I got a new baby. I collect dolls and my DIL gave me a beautiful one. There's also hope for my DH. He stopped at JCPenny last Wednesday and got me a $100 gift card so that when I can actually walk on two feet again, I can go shopping. Oh what a wonderful day that will be!

Yesterday we went to church then out to eat then grocery store and a couple other places then home. I was glad to get home to the warm. It's cold otside.

I hope all of you on the east coast stay safe and don't have too much digging to do. We had a slight dusting yesterday but I can handle that compared to what they got from North Carolina to Maine.

I have a drs appt. this afternoon for my foot. I can tell it's getting better every day.

Take care and have a great day.

Donna

Happy Day After Christmas to you all!

We had a wonderful Christmas together. My parents arrived around 8:30 yesterday morning and we all thoroughly enjoyed the day together. It is so good to have all three kids home at the same time. That is happening less and less now that Alex is out of college and working.

I hope that you each had a happy time with your loved ones!

Donna - Glad you were able to enjoy a long shower. Another idea for the dry skin is African shea butter. My ESL student turned me on to it as it works for a lot of things. You can get it in its pure form in beauty shops (as it is used for ethnic hair, too.)

Dedrie - Good luck with your baking! Sounds like you're just about ready for the whole gang tomorrow. I'm glad the kids are excited, too. I'd love to see the dance they made up!

Jen - Sorry for the sadness and craziness at work. I'm also a believer that full moons affect moods. Hope you are feeling better, too. It isn't fun to be sick around big holidays. Try to get some R&R so it goes quickly!

Nickey - I'm sure you're doing a lot of running around as a new mother, so take your time. You already know how important it is to take care of you so it will come about when you're ready. We'll be here to cheer you on when you are!

Suzzy - Gee, you sound like a busy bee in the kitchen! Hope you are able to relax and enjoy the rest of the holidays.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!emoticon

Hi Team and Merry Christmas Eve! It has been a crazy week. I got done with my Christmas shopping after work on Tuesday and came into the office. Dad was here still working on the renovations - another long story since it still isn't done - and was trying to figure out what to do Wednesday. He had a morning appointment, but my mom does her I-V treatment Wednesday mornings and he usually takes her. I was scheduled to work from 9-2, but I told him I would take some vacation time and go into work in the afternoon from 1-4. So I ended up taking my mom to her treatment, and I'm glad I was able to see what she goes through. I know it is supposed to help but she gets pretty sick and woozy during it. I can see why he insists that someone goes with her.

Anyways, it put a wrench in my schedule I had to get things done and it didn't get any better. Yesterday this small cold I got almost wiped me out. I'm glad I took some Zinc tablets when I felt it come on because I'd be completely miserable right now if I didn't. I did manage to get quite a bit done, but not everything I wanted to so I've still got quite a bit to do when I get home this afternoon. It didn't help that the alternator went out on my car. Luckily, my brother had a 1/2 hour to spare so I went and bought a new one and he installed it right away. I'm glad because I couldn't figure out how I would have managed everything I had to do today without a reliable running vehicle!

I was at the gardens today and it was just as fun as the day after thanksgiving. A lot of families were there to enjoy the holiday exhibit. There were only 2 docents there for coverage so I ended up getting quite a bit of walking in. That's good since I'm not sure I'll get a workout in at home today. I'll have to plan some time this coming week as I will be without Zumba for the week. My instructor is on vacation so I'll have to suffer without it.

Hope the rest of you are ready for the holiday and enjoying your time with friends and family. Have a merry, yet healthy one!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE SPARKERS!
emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

My kids are sooooooooo excited about tomorrow. They are surely counting and waking up every morning shouting how many more days. They have even come up with a dance to show their joy. They surely are making me smile and enjoying this wonderful season.

Having my BIL over the last 2 days has been great. Hubby has surely been entertaining him and they are both exhausted. They probably won't wake up until after 11am because they got in pretty late. Too funny because they are no longer teenagers and really don't do this often. LOL.

Today is baking day for me, I will be making a bread pudding and a chocolate pound cake. Should be interesting because I have never done it by myself. So, I have checked over my recipe and ready to head into the kitchen and have fun. I'll let you know how they turn out, wish me luck, LOL.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the advice on the dry skin, I'll have to get some and try it.

We have a little running around to do today, DH is off today. Need to go to bank and grocery store. We'll go to Christmas eve services tonight.

If I don't get on here tomorrow I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Hey Donna, Both myself and son have dry skin and we use Eucerin lotion and Hydro Cordizone Cream. They both provided the moisture that our skin needs.

Donna,

So glad to hear that you got your shower! I remember how great that first shower feels after surgery. Not much can beat it!

I don't know what to tell you about the dry skin. I do know that the physical therapist told me to use Lubriderm or Eucerin because they have the proper PH for our skin.

Good luck!

Good morning everyone. My what a lovely day. It's cloudy, cold and windy outside but I got to take my first shower since Dec. 1 and that made my whole day. I feel so much better and my foot looks and feels better too. Got some of the dried blood off of without rubbing too hard. It was great. I bandaged it back up and now have it up.

The bone scan yesterday went well, so well in fact that I was in and out of there before time for my appointment. The paper I had received before-hand said it would take 30 minutes but it didn't. The lady said that they say that in case someone comes to their appt. and they don't have their questionaire filled out. It helps that I'm always early for my appts. too.

Does anyone have a remedy for extremely dry skin? It's the leg that was in the soft cast for 19 days. I keep putting lotion on it but it keeps peeling and looks awful. Anything better I can use?

I hope everyone steps back, takes a deep breath and enjoys the season. Things will get done and if they don't, it really doesn't matter. What does matter is family, friends and always remember the reason for the season, The Lord, Jesus Christ.

Hi Team!

I woke up this morning feeling miserable. I have been eating poorly and telling myself it will end after Christmas, but it has to end now. Sometimes eating healthfully and counting calories seems like just one more thing to do, but I really need to do it in order to feel good both physically and mentally. I just don't feel healthy and I have to get back on track.

Today I will get the grocery shopping done. I thought it would happen yesterday, but I ran out of time. Tomorrow I will do cleaning and preliminary food prep. Tonight I have to attend the viewing for Tonia's mother. The drive will be about an hour and a quarter one way. I hope to catch a little time before Christmas to put my feet up and catch my breath.

Take care.

Good Morning Sparkers, We are all certainly busy during this lovely holiday season. emoticon

Janet, I do hope that you are able to get some rest between all of your running around.

Donna, such great news about getting your cast off. This really shows that you are staying off of your foot and listening to your doctors instructions. I wish you a continued quick recovery.

Jen, I hope your last day of work before the holiday's isn't too crazy for you. I am sooo sorry to hear about your directors mother and I know it can't be easy for her and her family.

Cheryl, We are surely going to need a break from the holiday's. I do hope that you had a good nights rest after all that traveling and fun family time.

Suzzy girl, enjoy your day of just doing absolutely nothing. You totally deserve the rest day!

My hubby and BIL went to Atlantic City last night and had a blast. Hubby is a DJ on the side, so they got into different clubs for free and joined up with friends. I am wide awake and they are fast asleep. I am about to start breakfast because I want to make something different and special. Off I go!

HAPPY HOLIDAY'S!

Jen, we always know when it's a full moon at work. The craziness gets worse but most of all we have a lot more falls during a full moon. People laugh, but it's true.

Today I drove down to see my folks (about 2 1/2) hours away. I took my youngest daughter that is in town and 2 of the grandkids (the 2 others have colds). We had a nice visit and drove back home again. I'm exhausted and am hoping to catch up with some Sparking tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!

Hi Everyone, well my 2 granddaughters have left and I am just in the process of making a roast dinner as my MIL is coming over.
I have literally been on the go since 6:15 am and on my feet since 8:00. I baked cookies this morning then got all my cabbage rolls made and I just took them out of the oven. They smell delicious and I am anxious to try one later when they have cooled down.

Ally my packages are wrapped and tomorrow is a day all to myself. I don't have to drive anyone anywhere, I don't have any company coming over so I will get my housework done and then relax. Oh that sounds sooooo good. I have been having anxiety attacks all day and just want to be able to take a deep breath, kick of my shoes and sit back in my easy chair. Once MIL goes home I am going to do just that.

I better move myself as she will be here soon and I still have to get my Yorkshire pudding in the oven.

Have a great evening everyone.emoticon

Good morning. I'm up, dressed and had breakfast already. The boot is working great. Much easier to do things and get around. Had a bad start of the night last night as my toes hurt me something fierce. I finally took the pillows out from under the covers and put them on top and put my foot there as I couldn't stand to have the covers on my toes. The pain finally settled down enough for me to get to sleep.

This afternoon I have an appt. for my first bone density scan. Oh, the joys of being 50.

Jen-I didn't know that there were several Wii Zumba games out there, I only have seen the one. It's Zumba Fitness, Join the Party. I really liked it, the few times I used it. Hope your work settles down. I definitely think the full moon effects people. You wouldn't believe how many people gain at TOPS when there is a full moon. Think about it, if the moon controls the tides in the ocean, what do you think it does to the water in us?

I hope everyone has a great day. Stay safe and warm.

Hi Team,

Just 4 more days and I seem to be in the middle of a holiday breakdown. Work has been incredibly stressful again. On Monday when I was trying to wrap gifts, I must have made and received at least 30 or 40 phone calls. Yesterday at the office wasn't much better. I am wondering if the full moon and the lunar eclipse is part of the reason for the craziness. Cheryl do you see evidence of its effects at your work? Any one else?

Hi Team! Sorry I didn't get a chance to read through all the posts. It is 10:30 pm and I haven't been home all day with running errands after work.

I'm not sure what the rest of my week looks like. I had planned to post tomorrow after work since I get out early, but now I've got some other things going on. I'll definately stop in after my volunteer shift at the gardens on Friday so no matter what, I'll make some time with you before the holiday.

Hope you are able to get all your preparations done without much stress this week. See you soon!

Hi everyone,

How is everyone doing? Ready for the holidays. Things have been so crazy I have hardly had a chance to get on here. Hoping in the new year to get back into this. Not doing so great right now with eating or exercising. I know it is the wrong attitude, but it feels pointless. I need to get my priorities straight again and set some new goals.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year! I promise to be back in 2011!

Good morning. I hope everyone is feeling their best. Just to clarify, I am still using the crutches as I'm only supposed to put "a little" weight on my foot so no Zumba yet. Maybe in a couple weeks. I'll be glad to just getting back to exercising. I still have to keep it elevated as much as possible but I don't have to be hooked up to the ice machine any more. Yippee! I was really only using that at night anyways these last few days.

Anyways, I have TOPS tonight but with this boot on, I'm not going to weigh in as it alone weighs about 5 pounds.

Jen-I'm so sorry about your director's mother. It's never nice at any time but at Christmas time, it's doubly hard. They'll be in my prayres.

Take care and keep warm.

Hi Everyone!

I have an appointment for my legs at 7:30 this morning. Then I am headed to work. My deputy director's mother died last night. It is another sad week for the people around me.

Gotta run................

Hope you are all doing well.

Hey guys. I just had to pop in quick to let you know that they took out all of the stiches, not just a few and I'm now in a boot instead of the splint or soft cast. I am such a happy person right now. I can also start to put a little weight on it. I still can't get it wet for 2 more days yet though. But come Thursday morning, look out shower. LOL

Hi Team!

Today is wrapping day for me. I am about to go do my morning treatment on my legs and then begin the wrapping process. It will be a little tricky as Spencer is home for the holidays. I didn't think about that when I chose today for this task. I guess I will have to chase him off or do his in a closed off area. I usually put a movie on or something and spread out in front of it.

Tomorrow is supposed to be our holiday luncheon for office staff at work, but my deputy director's mother is dying of brain cancer and we are talking about putting off the luncheon until after the holidays. We don't want to do it without Tonia. Regardless of what we decide, I will be going into the office tomorrow and that will be my last day in before the holidays (if all goes as planned).

Donna, Good luck at the doctor's today!

Cheryl and Suzzy, Enjoy those grandchildren!

Janet, Your tree-trimming sounds like a fun time with the kids!

Dedrie, It sounds like you have a lot on your "plate". Enjoy the kids!

Have a great day!emoticon

Good Morning all,

Donna, I do hope that everything goes well with your appointment today. Sounds like a great idea to head out a little earlier to be close to family.

Janet, my little ones also love buying the tree, dragging it in, deocrating and then cleaning up afterwards. It's all in the joy of the holiday's. Yesterday, I finished all my wrapping and excited for family to head over on Saturday.

Cheryl, You always make me smile when you talk about your grandkids. Enjoy your vacation and time with your family.

Suzzy, I was showing one of my friends your page yesterday and she just loves your furry babies. They always make me smile when I stop by. I as well am done wrapping and it feels great to be done. Do you have help baking?

Jen, sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday and I wish you a productive week. WTG on keeping your eating under control. I totally wish I could say the same, lol.

Today is grocery shopping for my big family dinner. I am about to write out my list and head out when the kids get on the bus. Have a wonderful day Sparkers!

Morning team and happy Christmas week. The homestretch is amoung us. Hope everyone has most, if not all of your shopping, wrapping, etc. done.

We spent almost 2 hours at Texas Roadhouse yesterday afternoon eating and talking. It was great. Today I have a drs appt. in the afternoon. They'll take some stitches out. I wish they'd take them all out but probably won't. We'll see. I have a ride lined up so DH doesn't have to take time off work.

The weather people are saying we might have a storm come through Christmas eve and into Christmas morning. We are supposed to go out to our son, DILs place to watch our DGD open presents. They live 46 miles away. We'll decide in a day or two if we will travel out on Christmas eve and stay in a motel near there so we don't have to travel Christmas morning. We did that a couple years ago when they were calling for ice. Made for a nice weekend.

I'll try to check in after my appt this afternoon and update everyone.

Hi Team! Sounds like everyone else is in the holiday bustle mode and getting a lot done. I still have a lot to do, but it is much more manageable now. I finished the 2 big gift items after church tonight and now just need a few things to tie up the lose ends.

Most of the jobs left are things I need to do at home. We did manage to get the Christmas tree up this weekend. My sister called Saturday and said they'd come down with the kids to take care of it. Normally I can't get much done when the kids are there, but it was such a blessing for them to pick out a tree and decorate it. It was fun to watch them go through the old ornaments and listen to Christmas music we loved as kids, too. I may not have gotten a lot done on my to do list, but having that crossed off was worth it!

I'm sure this week will go quickly. I'm trying to fit some time in with friends around everything else. But if not, that's okay too.

I've gotta get going. I want to finish my Christmas cards tonight so I can get them in the mail tomorrow morning.

Cheryl - Glad you're enjoying your vacation! Congrats on getting so much done that you can enjoy it!

Jen - Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, but as usual, you're handling it like a pro! Hope the home treatments are helping out, even though 2 hours out of your day is hard this time of year. I know what you mean about getting back to "regular" time!

Donna - Glad you had a good time with your DGDs and that you're healing well. Hope you don't go too stir crazy this week and that you have plenty of holiday visitors to keep you company.

Dedrie - Woo Hoo on getting your holiday shopping done! That's so great of you to get some gifts for those kids. I'm sure they will appreciate your kindness.

Suzzy - Sounds like you have a great holiday planned with family. Congrats on getting so much done too. If there is anyone on this team that will find time to exercise around the holidays it is you!

Have a great start to the week everyone! See you soon.

Hello Team,

Today is the first day of my vacation and I am watching The Wiggles with my grandson. He just loves them. My Xmas shopping is almost done, just need a few little things. Will get the wrapping done today and some of the house cleaning too. The 3 granddaughters will be here tonight and we are going to watch "It's A Wonderful Life". Then the next two days I will do laundry and the rest of the house cleaning before my daughter arrives Tuesday evening. Then I am just going to enjoy the time off of work and the time with my family.

Hi dear SparkFriends. I only have a few minutes as we are headed out to meet our son, dil, granddaughter and 2 friends for dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

Yesterday was great fun with the DGDs. They helped make cookies along with DH and we made giant snowflakes to hang in the window. We enjoyed them a lot. They'll come back some time this week so that we can exchange gifts along with mom and dad.

The foot is coming along. I have "healing pains" from time to time but it comes and goes. I have a dr. appt. tomorrow where they will start to take some of the stitches out. Hopefully soon I will be able to take a shower instead of a bath and begin to walk on it.

I have to run for now. Take care and keep warm.

emoticonGood morning everyone,
it feels so good now that I have all my wrapping finished and finally have my bedroom back in order where all the gifts were.
I finished shopping for our fur babies yesterday and they are getting spoiled this year.
I'm sure they will only be interested in the the edible treats that are wrapped up at first LOL.

Glad to see everyone is either finished or almost finished with their holiday shopping and wrapping.

Tomorrow I am going to start baking as my middle granddaughter is coming to stay with me until Wednesday.

My youngest granddaughter arrived at my son's on Friday and eh will be down until the 24th. She spends Christmas with her mom and other family this year so we are celebrating with her on MOnday night.

I am hoping to take both of the girls to see Chronicles of Narnia on Tuesday night as some special time with me.

I just love this time of year when all the family is together. Christmas Day we will finally see our nephew who arrived home safely from Afghanistan on the 11th of December. I am so happy that he did not meet with any of those deadly roadside bombs!

Well I better get into motion before my back begins to make me suffer. I can't be in one position for too long and if I keep moving I fare well so on the move I am.

Have a happy and memorable day everyone.

Hi Everyone!

My shopping is done and the cards are mailed. Now I have wrapping, cleaning and grocery shopping to take care of this week. Just think, a week from now it will all be over!

How is everyone doing? Are you feeling overwhelmed or is everything under control? I don't feel overwhelmed this year, but I can't say that my eating and exercise is under control.

We are headed off to church soon. Today is the Christmas cantata.

Have a wonderful day!emoticon

Good Morning Sparkers,

I am officially done with my holiday shopping. For the last 2 days I have been buying gifts for my co-workers/managers. Yesterday, I also bought for these 3 kids who are stuck at the hotel for the holiday's. Hopefully, it keeps smiles on their faces when I give it to them.

Off to work I go Sparkers, have a great Sunday!
