Donna,

I think you inspiring many of us to want the Wii Zumba for Christmas. We may have to have a thread just for that in January!

GET WELL SOON! emoticon

Good Morning team and thank you to everyone for the well wishes and/or goodies. I may not be on tomorrow, it depends on how I feel after I get home from surgery. I don't know what time it is yet, I have to call this afternoon to find out. Then I can't eat or drink anything for 12 hours before. I tend to get sick if I don't eat every so often so we'll see what happens.

I am so nervous now about it. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night and I imagine tonight won't be any different. I have faith that everything will be okay but it's the unknown that scares me. I guess that's only human.

I did my Zumba again this morning and scored a 507, my best yet!

The scale is very good to me this morning. I should post a loss at TOPS tonight. Just how much remains to be seen. For some reason I always weigh less in the morning than evening.

Jen-I hope today finds Hana feeling better. Hope you don't catch it.

Cheryl and Dedrie-Tracking is a key factor to knowing exactly what you are eating and how much. Just do it.

I don't know if I'll be able to check back in later as there is a lot of stuff I need to do at work to prepare for my time off. I'll try to let you know what time surgery is though.

Take Care. Donna

Hi Everyone!

I have a few minutes before I have to run to the hospital for a treatment on my legs. Then I have to drop my car off to have the bumper repaired. I will be given a rental car by the insurance co. of the woman who hit me.

Hana is still sick. She was up at 2:30 this morning complaining of a terrible headache that was keeping her awake. I didn't even bother to wake her this morning as I knew she wouldn't be in any condition for school. I sure hope she is well by tomorrow morning as I have meetings up through at least 1PM and then an hour's drive home so she would be alone nearly all day.

My month that started out with a bang, ended with a fizzle. I just can't seem to get a hold on my eating. When I get a few minutes I plan to do a scrapbook or vision collage. I have been collecting photos and printing things from on line that are motivating to me. Maybe I will start a thread about it and others might like to join in. We'll see how the time works for me.

Gotta run! Donna, you are in my thoughts and prayers! emoticon

Good Morning Sparkers,

Cheryl, you know I am totally with you with the tracking of every bite that I put into my mouth. It's completely time to keep myself under control again.

This morning, I did 2 exercise TV workouts to change things up. By coincidence, I did Jillian and then Billy Blanks Jr. They were both great cardio workouts that made it fun. I go in later today because I switched with one of my co-workers. So, I am about to get in my walk on the treadmill.

Hi All,

Dedrie, you are doing so well on your workouts. Very impressive!!

Jen, sure hope that Hana feels better soon and that you don't come down with it.

Donna, I will keep you in my prayers. I know you feel a bit anxious but you will feel so much better when all is said and done.

Janet, how was your belated Thanksgiving dinner? Hope you enjoyed the time with your family.

I got a little Xmas shopping done today. At least it's a beginning. I have been tracking my food again, something I have been really bad at doing lately. Apparently I overeat when I don't keep track. Imagine that?!

Hope everyone has a great week. Stay safe!

Afternoon Sparkers,

Donna, you make your Wii Zumba workout sound like soooo much fun. You make me want to ask for one for the holiday's. Good luck with your weigh in at Tops. You deserve your wonderful results because you surely have been doing well this month. How long do they say your recovery will take?

Jen, I do hope that Hana feels better soon and that all of your appointments are productive. At least hanging up decorations should be fun!

I am sitting in my car waiting on my daugter's bus to arrive. I was able to change into my workout clothes to get in my routine as soon as I get back inside. Fun times, LOL.

Hi Team!

I guess we are saying goodbye to November as Dedrie has the December thread up and running!

Hana is home sick today. She woke up yesterday morning feeling yucky. I guess she has another virus. She is a kid who tends to catch whatever is passing by. Today is infusion day for me, so hopefully I will get fortified enough to not catch what she has.

I have a very busy week ahead. I hope her virus passes quickly. I have meetings on half of Wednesday and all day Thursday. I also have two treatments on my legs and an additional appointment to see someone who demonstrates the use of a machine that helps with lymphodema. Then there is my infusion thrown in. Plus all that needs to be done to get ready for Christmas. I hope to have my tree and decorations up by the end of next weekend.

I hope you all have a great day!

Good Monday morning. I too am up and have gotten in my workout. I did not one but two Zumba workouts on my Wii. Exhiliarating. Got a 492 on the first workout and a 490 on the second. I hadn't done the second one before so I think that's a pretty good score.

Anyways, yesterday after church, we went into town and got all the rest of my shopping done for Christmas. Now I just need to get cards, wrapping, etc done. I can do that some while laid up.

I am so ready to get Wednesday done and over with and let the healing begin. I got my 2 prescriptions filled yesterday, one for pain, the other an antibiotic. One makes you sleepy the other dizzy. Fits right in with me. LOL! I knew I wouldn't be able to drive for a while since it is my right foot that is getting operated on, but I certainly can't drive while on these meds. Too dangerous. One lady at church yesterday was asking me what DH liked to eat. She named a few things and I said no to all of it because he is strictly a meat and potatoes man. She finally mentioned ham, green beans and potatoes and yes, he'll eat that, so I imagine I'll be getting one good meal at least, if I feel like eating.

I don't want to jinx myself but I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 142.4. If that holds true for tomorrow at TOPS, then I just might make the 5 pounds I wanted to loose this month. Keep your fingers crossed.

Dedrie-I know you can reach that goal by the end of the year. You just stick to your program and you'll make it. We're pulling for you.

Janet-Glad you finally got to have your Thanksgiving with your family. Way to go with sticking to your program.

Jen-Your shopping trip sounds like a good time. How special a relationship you must have with your dad. Your hike sounds good too. I love to explore new areas.

Suzzy-Hope you're having a great time on your trip. Wish we were there instead of freezing. Have fun.

I'll try to check in later. Have a great day.

Good Morning Sparkers,

I am up bright and early to get in my workout, but I totally feel lazy. I will get in my routine after I get home from work even though I know it will be tough. I am sooo ready to have a well needed wonderful week. I am going to go carb free except for fruits and veggies this week. I have a personal goal that I need to reach by the end of the year to feel better about myself.

Janet, Sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday with family. You are planner and very organized once you have gotten your plan written down. I know it isn't easy, but we will have a great end of year together. YOU CAN DO IT GIRL!

Jen, your wonderful ladder sounds like the one that I saw on QVC, which goes from small to high enough to get on top of your house. You always have a great time with your shopping with your father and spending time with your family.

HELLO TEAM!

I am finally back home after the holiday. We had a great trip and a wonderful time with my parents. I arrived in PA in Wednesday. I helped my mother with the early preparations and then Dad and I headed out for a new walking route that he had discovered. It was about 3.5 miles of scenic back roads and was very enjoyable with just enough ups and downs to be a bit of a challenge. We walked it again on Saturday. Thursday it rained and on Friday we shopped.

Our shopping trip was lots of fun. We had nothing was wanted this year that was worth getting up in the middle of the night so the whole family went out for breakfast together at 7AM. Then Alex headed home because he had to work, Dad and I headed off to shop and everyone else went back home. We had a great time together and got plenty of deals. My favorite was a wonderful sturdy 13-foot ladder that bends and folds into all kinds of configurations. It usually sells for around $200, but I got it for $68! The foyer of our new house is two stories tall with a huge window in the second story and a big chandelier. I borrowed this type of ladder from a friend in order to get up to clean the window and chandelier (and I didn't want to pay $200 at Costco to buy the ladder). I wasn't about to get up that high on a ladder that wasn't rock-solid. I knew that a sale would come along at some point, but never expected to get one so soon!

Most of my Christmas shopping is now done! Yippee!

Donna, Congratulations on your fantastic progress this month! I will be praying for you on Wednesday! I hope that everything will go well and you will recover quickly!

Janet, I hope that your nieces and nephews get well soon and that no one else catches the flu! It sounds like you had an enjoyable holiday, despite the change of plans!

Cheryl, Way to go with staying on track!

Dedrie, It sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving!

I'm sure that Suzzy will enjoy her trip. I hope her hubby's knee holds up.

Have a great day!

Jen

Hi Team! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I went to church tonight so I can spend the day at my sister's tomorrow for our late Thanksgiving. I guess it was a 24 hour flu bug since the kids are feeling better. That is good to know in case they inadvertantly give it to me! Anyways, I came into the office after church and running some errands. It is nice and quiet so I'm getting a lot done.

I posted my exercise results this week for the challenge and was disappointed in my results. I need to kick things in gear because it will be harder to fit workouts in next month. I know I'll exercise if I'm at Zumba, but sometimes classes are cancelled so I need to make sure my backup plans are in place. And on the days I don't go to Zumba I need to have a plan as well. I guess I've been too lax all around and need to get back on track. I don't want to wait until January, either! Seize the Day!!!

Cheryl - You've inspired me to get my plan of attack together for tomorrow's turkey dinner! Good job!

Donna - At least you know the results of the test won't be a surprise! LOL! I'm impressed with your holiday preparations. Be sure to find some activities to occupy your time while you're laid up!

Dedrie - Woo Hoo for sunshine! I saw maybe 3 minutes of it yesterday and felt lucky!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone! I'll check back in Monday or Tuesday.

Good morning everyone. It's freezing cold with flurries today. Could be worse but could also be a lot better!

I have to work today until noon then I have to go home and get busy cleaning. This is my final chance before surgery on Wednesday. I'm getting really nervous now but I'm ready to get it over with. I go for my final preop test tomorrow, a pregnancy test. I detest having to have it because there is no way I'm pregnant but they insist because I'm not 50 yet. BAH! I'll go have that done after church tomorrow then I need to go get gift cards and a couple more gifts and groceries then I'm done with getting stuff for Christmas. Then I just have to get things wrapped and some packaged to be mailed. I can get some of that done while I'm laid up.

I also need to get a Christmas letter done up so that it's ready to go when I get ready to do cards. I got the stamps yesterday.

Well I guess I'd better go. I have some more posting to do before it starts getting busy here. There is a home college football game today, the last one of the season, thank God!

Catch you all tomorrow.

Hi All,

Hope you all enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving!

I didn't do too bad at all with food yesterday. Didn't have seconds and used portion control.

Today I got in a ton of exercise doing some decorating at work. Had to climb a 10 foot ladder many times over. Also moved a lot of heavy boxes and put up a 12 foot Xmas tree. I'm wiped out and have only just begun decorating. But the residents absolutely love it which makes it totally worth it.

I'm definately going to add the Wii Zumba to my Xmas list! Thanks for the input Donna.

Hope the kids get over the flu soon, Janet.

Have a great trip, Suzzy!

Hi Team! I'm freezing! The cold front came through last evening and brought temps down into the 20s and windchills in the teens. We even had some lake effect snow this morning, but I think it was too dry out for it to accumulate. The weather may have had some effect on the crowds at the gardens. It was busy, but not as it normally is. I still had a good time talking with families that came out to visit, though.

Well, I didn't have to work off any turkey dinner today. My sister called yesterday morning and said the kids all had the flu so dinner was postponed until Sunday night. I'm going to church tomorrow night so I can spend most of the day up there on Sunday. Luckily, I picked up a bunch of DVD rentals so we watched a few movies yesterday. Well, except when my dad exercised his right to watch the Detroit Lions football game. I think it is becoming tradition for them to lose on Thanksgiving! I should have planned better though. I had plenty of time to get a workout in but didn't. I'm planning on getting home at a decent time tonight to make up for it.

Suzzy - no need to appologize here. Sounds like you've had a lot on your plate (at least not the one you eat from!) Congrats on staying on track with everything going on. I hope your hubby is able to take it easy before and during your trip. Have a great time and enjoy all that warm weather!

Cheryl - snow is bad enough, but ice? Yuk! Hope you were able to get around safely. Congrats on getting your exercise and healthy eating in over the holiday!

Jen - Hope you're having a great time today shopping with your Dad!

Donna - WOW! Congrats on your loss and continued success! Thanks for the heads up on the Wii Zumba. I just might have to add it to my Christmas list this year.

Hope everyone else had a good Thursday and that you are enjoying your Friday. Have a good weekend, too!

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving celebration without going ever in your nutrition choices.
if so, I hope you are having a great day of fitness today.

I am beginning to pack for our vacation as we leave early Sunday morning. I know I have been a bit of a pill for posting lately but I have been unbelievably busy the past couple of weeks.

I promise I will be more diligent upon my return from vacation.

Wishing everyone a great weekend and a great new week ahead. emoticon

Good morning. Gee, I guess no body has recovered from Thanksgiving yet, or maybe they're just out getting all the bargains. Either way it's quiet here today.

I just feel awesome. I've tried the Wii Zumba and it is great. So much like the classes. It even gives you a score. Yesterday mine was 449, today 480. WooHoo!

Turkey day was a success with eating. I had no seconds and since it was also a granddaughter's birthday, I had one small piece of cake.

I'll try to check back in later. Ta Ta For Now.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving. It is freezing rain and sleet here. It's supposed to "warm" up enough to just be rain later. Hope so, we leave about 11 to go to our DIL's parents place for the meal.

I stepped on the scale this morning and it was below 143. I am so happy. DH said something really nice to me this morning. He said that he can tell when I lose weight because my whole self changes. Meaning my energy, personality, etc. He's such a nice hubby.

I didn't get the Wii Zumba set up yet but I will soon.

I'd better get off here so I can get some things done before time to leave. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Watch those calories and portion control.

Hi team. I'm feeling on top of the world today. I lost another 1.25 pounds at TOPS last night putting me just 1.5 pounds away from my goal of losing 5 pounds for this month. I'm going to try my darndest to do it next week but even if I don't quite make it, I still want to see some kind of loss and that will make me even happier than I am now. I am very happy with the results of my hard work so far this month and I pray it continues.

I had another reason to be happy yesterday too. You all know how I love Zumba. Well I found a Wii game at Wal-Mart yesterday for Zumba. It just came out. Of course I bought it. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet though. Maybe tomorrow morning. I haven't touched my Wii in months but now I just have to.

My weather here is about like yours Jen, 50's and 60's most of the fall. Today is in the 40's, which I'll take compared to what they promise for the Holiday weekend. Rain starting tonight and maybe freezing rain or sleet tomorrow morning then just rain. Friday and Saturday they are calling for snow showers or flurries and Saturday's high is to be only in the 30's. YUCK!!

Suzzy-Benji does sound cute. Bet he looks like the dog in the movie Benji from back in the 80's? Not quite sure when it was but he was cute.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving if you live in the states. Everyone else, have a great day too.

Hi Team!

Reading your wintry posts makes me glad I live in Maryland! Our weather has been in the 50s and 60s for nearly the entire fall. It is supposed to change soon, though.

Suzzy, Benjy sounds adorable. Can't wait to see pictures of him! Have a safe and enjoyable trip. I hope your hubby will be able to walk.

I am headed out the door for a treatment on my legs and then off to PA.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

WOW Suzzy, I got tired just reading about how busy you've been.
emoticon

Woke up this morning to about an inch of snow on the ground, but the big problem was a thick layer of black ice. The neighbor had chains on her car and turned around to come back home. So there was no way I was going to drive. I ended up calling one of the guys from work that has a truck and he came to give me a ride. The temperature never got above 27 today. Brrrr!

Got in a good amount of exercise today and food is under control too.

Happy Thanksgiving week to all!!

Hello Team,

my apologies for MIA this week but I have been so busy it scares me.
I have had appointments and family matters to attend to and I have not even gotten my summer clothes out to pack for our trip which we leave for on Sunday.

Tomorrow I will be tied up with the mechanic for our van for half a day, then hubby and I have to bowl tomorrow night as well as Friday and we also have to bowl 3 games for when we are away and hand in the scores for our team.

I don't know hubby will bear it as his knee is finished. The xrays reveal that he has bone fragments gloating in his knee and it is also filled with arthritis. He has to have surgery as soon as it's possible. He is in so much pain but insists that he still bowl. By the time we leave for vacation I have doubts that he will be able to walk unaided.

Thursday I have a morning doctor appointment and in the afternoon have to take Tori to the dentist. Friday will be bowling night again.

Today i took my mother the the SPCA where Tori is doing her co-op. She picked out a little dog there on Sunday and decided to adopt him.

They were calling him Spencer and my mom wanted call him Willy but when we got him home he actually told us what his name was. We decided to throw out a few names at him to see if he would respond and the first name was it. His name is Bengy and he is a 3 year old wire terrier. He is so smart and I imagine they didn't know that as the SPCA. He sits, he begs, he rolls over and plays dead and he speaks......NO he actually speaks. When I tested him to see if he would speak he actually said "Hello". My mother and I thought it was just a fluke but when we asked him several times more to speak he would say "hello". It is absolutely amazing that this stray little good natured dog would not have been claimed by his owners.

He has an allergic reaction right now as he was flea bitten when they picked him up off the street but he has ben given a shot and his skin with clear and his hair will grow back within the next couple of weeks.
He is just the most adorable little fellow. I will take some pictures the next time I am down there and will post for you to see what I mean.

AS far as nutrition and fitness, I have been on track. I am doing more strength training than cardio lately but after vacation will get back to the cardio workouts. I have a torn deltoid muscle and it is difficult to lift weights or use the resistance bands with that arm but I am still trying to work it somewhat in hopes that it will heal and strengthen.

The weather today and tomorrow have been gorgeous but it is now getting cold and they are even calling for flurries. It has been ideal weather for southern Ontario at this time of year and they are still calling for a mild winter again. Whoo Hoo!

Well I better go because I have some time right now to get my summer clothes out and decide what I am going to take with me. Wishing you all a pleasant evening.

BIG hugs

Hi Team! I was excited for this week and then it ended up with a bad start. We actually had a tornado watch in November (VERY unusual here) so it cancelled my Zumba class. Unfortunately I didn't find out it was cancelled until after I went. Then afterwards I found out my friend's mom passed away last week. So I spent most of the evening trying to get in touch with other friends to let them know. I was able to talk to my friend today and she is doing okay considering, but I felt bad that I found out too late to go to the funeral. I guess I'm getting that age where I need to pay more attention to the obits in the paper.

Mom and Dad left early this morning to take my uncle across state for a medical procedure. I'm going to finish up here as quick as I can so I can get somethings done at home while they're gone. Hopefully I'll be able to get a full hour workout in as well.

I don't think I'll be able to check in with everyone until after Thanksgiving. I'll be at the gardens on Friday, so I'll check in afterwards. Happy Thanksgiving for everyone here in the states, and I hope everyone else has a great Wednesday and Thursday.

Cheryl - I figured you'd like the gardens. Let me know if you ever make it out this way as I'll be sure to give you a personal tour!

Dedrie - Woo Hoo! Congrats on getting back into the swing of things. Yesterday was a fluke for me, but after getting on the scale this morning I'm all for getting back into my own groove! Thank goodness for Zumba on Wednesday and Saturday!

Jen - Glad to hear you both are doing okay after the accident. Sounds like you got a lot of yard work done. I'm sure it was interesting figuring out what plants to weed and which to keep. I love that you refer to your arms as wings like I do. Mine have such huge flaps though! Enjoy the holiday weekend with your family!

Donna - Congrats on another successful week! Hope everything is all set for your foot surgery. It seems like you've been doing everything right leading up to it. Sounds like you had a great time this past weekend. Good luck with your to do list!

Brenda - Congrats on reaching your first wgt loss goal! I love the new picture, too!

Nickey - I know how you feel! Snow and cold are so much more bearable when you can stay inside snug as a bug in a rug!

Suzzy - Have you left for your warm holiday vacation yet? I sure am jealous!

See you all Friday!

Morning, Everyone!

Congratulations, Brenda! emoticon

I have Hana's teacher conferences today and must get ready to leave for PA first thing tomorrow morning. I may not be around much over the holiday. I plan to get in lots of long walks while visiting my parents. My dad likes going with me so we enjoy the time together. We will also hit the Black Friday sales (just an excuse of a day off by ourselves!)

Have a great day and a wonderful Thanksgiving, if I don't talk to you before the big day!

I don't have much time this morning but popping in to say hi. I'm off today but there is a staff meeting and my boss says there are lots of changes coming so I want to be there. Then I'm going to Walmart and the grocery store before my preop appt. at 11:40. Hopefully I can get all my shopping done by then then I can come straight home after the appt. We'll see.

I'll try to check in later but no promises, lots to do before surgery.

Take Care and have a great day. I've done my 4 mile dvd already too.

I am once again up and early this morning to get in my hour workout. I did an interval walk/jog training this morning and it feels great to be done. Eventually I will try and improve my overall pace and time. Well, nothing really special on this end, just work and taking care of the family.

I am so excited!! I have lost my first 10%!!! emoticon
I am now working on my next 10% from 247.5 pounds. I will be losing another 25 pounds by January, If I can keep this balance with weight loss and breast feeding, as balanced as I have it currently.

I am just glad I am going the right direction.

I hope you are all doing as well!

Good afternoon everyone. I hope this finds everyone doing well, or at least better. Our trip on Saturday was AWESOME. The first show we saw was entitled "Voices of Christmas". They took you back in time when things were simpler and how families made Christmas come alive. A lot of singing, some dancing and lots of history about Christmas. Loved it! Then after lunch at Cracker Barrel, it was off to the next show. It was a play called the "Miracle of Christmas" and it took you to Nazareth and Bethlehem and all the events leading up to and including the birth of Jesus. Absolutely Fabulous! There wer Angels flying around overhead and live animals and singing. It was truely something to behold. If you live close by, I highly recommend both shows, but sadly, this is the last year for the theater where we saw the "Voices of Christmas" show. They are closing it and going to do everything out of the bigger theater. Oh, and in the theater that they are going to keep open, they had a huge Christmas tree right in the middle of the lobby. 30 feet tall with the town of Bethlehem laid out all the way around the tree. Absolutely breathtaking.

Anyways, I did a 2 mile dvd this morning and have Zumba tonight. Tomorrow I go to the foot surgeon for preop for my surgery in just a little over a week. I'm starting to get really nervous now. I know things will be alright but you always have all these thoughts running through your mind beforehand.

Jen-how awful that you were rear-ended but we have to be thankful that you and Hana weren't hurt more than you were. Hope nothing more comes of it in the future.

Back to work. Have a great day.

Hi Sparkers!

I did yard work yesterday to work off my wings. I was wielding a mattock to dig/chop some nasty, woody weeds out of a little garden I discovered. We have an area along one side of the fence in our backyard where so much stuff was hanging over from the neighbors that I had no idea there was at one time a garden there. Last week I cut back the honeysuckle and other things that were choking out our plants and yesterday I finished removing the yucky stuff. Under all of the overgrowth were 4 or 5 Rose of Sharons, a once-large, now nearly dead Holly, some English Ivy and a bunch of dead stuff. I cut back the holly almost to the ground because there was so little of it left. I planted some little azaleas that had actually rooted from having older azalea branches literally shoved into the ground (the plants here were not well cared for!). I had never seen that before, but I got 4 little azalea plants from it. I will do more with it next spring, but for now I just want to get a little something planted to prevent erosion (and mud) and get some mulch down on it.

Craig enjoyed his birthday celebration. I definitely ate more than I normally would, but not nearly what I would have eaten at one time. We will see what the scales say about that tomorrow.

Janet, I checked out your gardens. Beautiful! I wish I could visit.

I think that Hana and I will both be fine from our rear-ending experience. We were both a little stiff yesterday, but nothing major. It will be difficult to tell on me because I was rear-ended back in the late 70s and had bad whiplash. I was sitting totally stopped in a sea of traffic on a big highway and watched in my rearview mirror as a guy crashed into me. He then got out of his car and yelled at me about why I was just sitting there in the middle of the road ---DUH! Anyway, I now have arthritis in my neck which gives me trouble from time to time and has been bothering me a lot during the past few weeks. It definitely bothered me more after the accident, but we will have to wait and see.

I am off to the office today. I hope you all have a fabulous day! emoticon

Janet, WOW girl, I remember when you were pushing yourself to go to one Zumba class, but now you are doing 3 a week. You are surely improving and doing AMAZING! Keep up your excellent focus and let's keep it together this week. WooHoo!

As you can see I am up early, which means I am back on track this week with my routines. Last week was an off week, which I guess I needed. I am sooo ready to take on this Thanksgiving week and keep each day healthy, by staying in my range and exercising each morning.

Happy Monday Sparkers!

Janet, I checked out the website of your gardens and they are absolutely awesome. I especially love the children's gardens and the carnivorous garden. What a very cool place to spend your time. Thanks for sharing the website with us.

Hi Team! I didn't get as much done as I wanted to do this weekend, but overall, not too bad. I figure I can finish the rest this week as my days are kind of light leading up to Thanksgiving. We are going to my sister's for dinner so I won't have a lot of cooking to do, and best of all there won't be a lot of leftovers around the house either.

I had a bad week trying to get some exercise in after hurting my knee last weekend. I'm powering things up this week though. I've even got 3 days of Zumba planned. I'm glad my instructor thinks there should be no reason not to meet Wednesday and Saturday, so I should have a good start on working off the big dinner.

Suzzy - Hope you weren't too sore Saturday from your strength training, and I hope you had a good time with your family today at dinner.

Dedrie - Good luck getting back into the healthy habit routine this week. I'm right there with you! Glad you had a great day with the family today.

Jen - Yikes! Hope you both are doing okay and aren't too sore from your fender bender. It seems like it doesn't take much to mess up your well being so it is good you didn't take her offer to pay out of pocket. Were you feeling okay enough today to get a workout in and work off the wings? Thanks for asking about the gardens. It occurs to me that I talk about it often (because I love volunteering there so much) so here's a link to their website for you to take a look at.
www.meijergardens.org/

Cheryl - Too bad about the snow and cold. I know it won't be long before we see that stuff as well. They are already calling for snow on Thanksgiving so I hope it won't be too bad driving to my sister's. Did you enjoy your day off?

Have a good start to the week everyone!

Hi Sparkers,

I am here totally enjoying my day with my family. My parents bought the kids a dresser that was pretty heavy to get up the stairs. But we managed to get it in place and then cleaned out the kids toy chest. It's amazing how different their room looks when their is something new around. Now my hubby is out looking for a plant heat lamp to help my plants to grow.

Donna, I hope you had a great time at your show.

Jen, were you able to get some relaxing time this weekend?

Cheryl, sounds like you are getting yourself ready for the new week. I as well had a day of just doing nothing, but hanging out in the house.

Hi Team,

Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday afternoon. I am sitting here watching the snow fall. It's really wet snow so nothing is sticking yet, but they are calling for colder temperatures and more snow tonight and tomorrow.

I had plans to sew and clean house today, but instead I decided to take a whole day off from everything. I haven't done that in a long time. My body hurts so much from the cold that I think I need a day to "recuperate".

Jen, so sorry to hear about you getting rear-ended. That is exactly what happened to me in April of '09 and I am still seeing doctors for it. It wouldn't be a bad idea for you and Hana to get checked out just to make sure everything is OK. I think you did the right thing by not accepting the "out of pocket" offer. You just never know.

Suzzy, I know what you mean about not wanting anyone else to do your hair. My daughter does my hair and knows it so well that I only let her do anything to it.

Have a good weekend trip, Donna.

Wishing everyone else a great Thanksgiving Week!

Hi Team!

I had an eventful day yesterday. Hana and I went to the gym, had lunch, did some shopping and were hit from behind while sitting at a red light. Everyone was okay. The woman who hit me had two children in car seats and said that she reached back to do something with one of them and her foot slipped. We weren't hit terribly hard, but hard enough to really snap us forward, despite seat belts. My neck is bothering me somewhat and Hana's back hurts a bit.

I felt badly for the lady. She gave us all of her insurance information and I called her company when I got home. They said that she would like to pay for the damages out of pocket, but my concern is that there could possibly be medical issues to deal with so I declined the offer. The bumper of my car could be the least of the concerns. Hopefully that won't be the case, but you never know.

We will be celebrating Craig's birthday today. His actual birthday is on Tuesday, but Spencer is home this weekend so we will do it today. We are not having the most healthful meal. Craig was born in Buffalo and loves Buffalo wings, so that will be the main course (need I say more?). I will have to spend some time today working out before wing time!

Suzzy, Enjoy your company and your haircut! What day do you fly off to paradise? emoticon

Dedrie, I'm glad you are enjoying your new duties at work! emoticon

Cheryl, I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling lately. It is so hard to cope with all we must do when we can't sleep right and have little energy. I hope things look up soon. emoticon

Donna, I'm sure you will have a wonderful day at those shows. I have heard great things about the shows in that area. emoticon

Janet, Those gardens of yours must be really something! There is always something new that you mention. How big are they? emoticon

Nickey, What new things can Kendell do now? I'm sure you are having lots of fun with her. emoticon

Gotta run. Have a great day!

Jen

Hello Sparkles,

I got so much cleaning done today and I feel great. I am bringing my mom to my home tomorrow fro dinner as it has been too long since she has been here. I think the last time was in the summer.

She only drives locally so we have to pick her up and take her home but that is okay. IT is always a pleasure to have company for Sunday dinner. My daughter is coming down as well and is going to cut my hair for me so I will be ready for vacation. It is great having a hair stylist in the family but I wish Sarah lived closer because I have been spoiled with her talent and don't like anyone else doing my hair.

I hope everyone is having a great day and I am sending wishes for a great Sunday as well.

Morning team. Just wanted to pop in quick and say I hope everyone has a great weekend. We're leaving in about 1/2 hour to travel to our shows. I did 2 miles with Leslie this morning to jump start my day.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Good morning Sparkers, I am up early to actually head to work an hour esrly to get some stuff done. I have to admit, my week health wise has not been very well because half way throug the week, I stopped exercising and logging my meals. Two things I have to do if I want to see the scale move in the right direction. I promise myself to get back on track this week.

Janet, I totally love my new duties and hope that I could keep them. Sunday will be her soon for you to be able to relax and curl up on the couch. Enjoy it because it feels good to just sit down and do just nothing for a few hours.

Just wanted to pop in and say goodnight to everyone.

I have gotten into the strength training in the past couple of days. I think tomorrow I will be feeling today's routine. IT will hurt but it will be a good hurt. I will rest from the strength training and get some more power walking and stair stepping in Saturday.

Hope everyone wakes up to a productive day. emoticon

Hi Team! Today was the best day so far this week. I hope it will extend on through next week as well. It is definately getting to be a hustle and bustle season already! It was quiet at the gardens today. But that made it perfect to catch up on all the new things about our holiday exhibit and go through it with the new docents on our Friday morning team. They'll be initiated quickly as next Friday will be a busy one!

The weather is cold today, but the sun is out so I made sure to get a long walk in at the gardens. I stayed out for about 45 minutes and didn't mind the cold so much. It was mostly my nose and cheeks that were rosy. It did me good as I got home too late last night to get my workout in. I'll have to do some double duty tonight and tomorrow to meet my weekly exercise goal. With turkey day coming up I'll need to get in as many workouts as possible!

Cheryl - Good job on getting on that exercise bike, every bit counts! I'm sure it is giving you whatever energy you've been able to find. Hope it doesn't snow too much for you. We've got it forecast for Thanksgiving day, so I hope we end up having dinner at our house instead of my sister's.

Jen - Glad the party was a hit! What a cool opportunity for Hana, too. Hope your nightmare at work ends soon. I'm sure the waiting was the most stressful part as once a decision is made you have a point you can move forward from. And you do have some positive things going your way! To new beginnings!

Donna - You're doing great! No wonder you're seeing good results on the scale. Enjoy your fun-filled weekend!

Dedrie - I'd love to curl up on the couch, but it will have to wait until Sunday afternoon. At least our weather forecast agrees with that too. Hope you enjoy a relaxing evening and have a great weekend. By the way, how did things turn out at work with the possible new duties and hours?

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Friday. Have a great weekend!

Donna, you are doing awsome with your miles! Keep up your excellent focus because I know you are feeling great.

Jen, have a great time with friends and drive safely. It must have been very informative chatting with your neighbor about his book and China.

Cheryl, I know how it feels to drag yourself out of bed to get in a workout and start your day. Do you feel much better afterwards? Hopefully the snow doesn't hit you all too hard on Sunday.

Janet, I do hope that your day was better than yesterday. Are you feeling better today, did the workout help last night for you!

Well, I am about to get my covers and curl up on the couch. The kids have been fed for the night and about to take an early bath. Sounds like a relaxing Friday.

Good Friday Morning everyone. I did my 4 miles this morning again. The more I do it, the more it seems to take less time to do. Before I know it, I'm at 2 or 3 miles with only a few more minutes to go. Feel good.

Tomorrow we are going with another couple to 2 theaters in Strausburg, PA to see The Voices of Christmas at 11 a.m. and The Miracle of Christmas at 4:15 p.m. Both shows should be fabulous. I'll let you know either Sunday or Monday. There is lots of good eating in this area as there are a lot of Amish and Mennonite there. Some of them run or work for various smorgasboards and the food is always good. I'll really have to watch it this weekend if I want to have any chance of making my goal for this month.

Sunday it's church then we have a soup and sandwich luncheon right afterwards. Then we have a birthday party for 2 of our granddaughters (sisters). One had a BD on the 15th and the other's is on the 26th. 6 and 10 years old respectively.

Jen-Have fun with your friend. Shopping and catching up with old friends are always a good thing. Hope things work out for you at work. Good for Hana for getting so interested in something she loves to do. We should all be that lucky.

Suzzy-Glad to see you back and power walking again.

Well, better get back to work. Have a great day and TGIF!

Hi everyone,

I am headed to PA today to spend the day with my friend and former neighbor, Roz. It will be a day of shopping and catching up.

The FAN Club meeting was great. It was fun to taste all of the appetizers (that was my dinner) and to see the demonstration by local chef, M.L. Carroll. Hana is very interested in cooking and went to talk with her. She gave Hana her business card and suggested she come do an internship!

We also met a man who lives in our neighborhood who is a retired history professor who is currently writing a book about China. We sat at a table with him and talked for a long time. It was a great evening!

Yesterday was far from great. My meeting in Baltimore was with the Department of Labor. That is really all I can say, but we have been dealing with them for over two years, and it has been a long and stressful two years. Let's just say that the nightmare will, apparently, end soon and with way less pain than we feared.

Today, I will try to heal and move on. This is the last of the huge worries that has been hanging over me for quite awhile. My life is finally pretty well settled down. I am trying to be actively thankful for that each and every day. There were times during the last two years when I felt so stressed that the only thing that calmed me down was to ask myself, "What is the worst that can happen?" Somehow, even if the answer was that everything would fall apart, I always thought I could go on in some way or another, and that thought would soothe me somewhat. Now, we are settled in a new home that we love. Hana is in a new school and happy, which takes both the worries about her and about homeschooling off of me. And many issues at work have been or are being resolved, with this being the final (and biggest) one.

I will spend the day being thankful for what I have. (After writing this, I just realized that this is the season for Thanksgiving ------ how appropriate!)

Jen emoticon

Hi Team,

Been real busy at work these days. The holidays are always busy with decorating, parties, etc. Need to get the 50 gal. salt water fish tank cleaned and the bird cages too. So much to do, so little time. LOL

Been riding my exercise bike in the morning but usually only for about 20 minutes. I am just so tired that I have to drag myself out of bed no matter how many hours of sleep I get. Just a bad time of year. My body hates the cold and they are predicting snow by Sunday. Which is extremely early considering we used to hardly ever get snow at all. Always a lot of rain here in Oregon but not much snow on the valley floors. The good news is that if it snows I won't have to drive the bus at work. Woo Hoo!

Is everyone ready for Turkey Day? I am so lucky. My daughter loves to do all the cooking (like I used to) and won't let me do anything. I think I will actually take the day off of work. I have worked the last 3 Thanksgivings because they need a manager there and since I didn't have to do any cooking I took the day shift.

Wishing everyone a Fabulous Friday and Wonderful Weekend. I have to work late tomorrow so probably won't be checking in again until Saturday evening.

Hugs to you all!!

Hi Team! Today was a blah day, but I'll take it over yesterday. The weather was WEIRD with the weatherguys just calling it a wacky Wednesday. There was cold all around, but very unstable air so we had periods of thundershowers, hail, and sunshine. Luckily it wasn't too cold or there would have been snow thrown in there too. But worst of all was I woke up with a headache that lasted all day, and I really think it was due to the low barametric pressure. I tried everything I could to get rid of it with no luck. It wasn't until after Zumba that I really felt better. I felt better today, but still a little queasy from yesterday. I'm going to try and get in a good workout tonight since it seemed to help last night.

Donna - Good job on your TOPS results! Between Leslie Sansone and Zumba you'll reach your goal with no problems!

Jen - Hope your meeting today went okay with positive results for you. How did the FAN club Top Chef competition go?

Suzzy - Glad you were able to enjoy a lazy day and not carry it over into your powerwalking routine today. (Somehow that's how I end up breaking all my good intentions and habits!) Thanks for the positive vibes to keep our emotions up. I'm doing okay this year considering it is November already.

Dedrie - What a great hubby you have to take on some of the load! Enjoy your evening and get plenty of rest.

Hope everyone else is having a good week. See you tomorrow!

Hello everyone,

I was MIA yesterday as it just one of those days where you don't want to do anything. Well it was for me and I just had a lazy day. That's the thrill of being retired.

I just returned home from a 40 minute power walk and I feel awesome....sweaty but awesome. You know that great feeling when you get an adrenaline rush, well that's me .
Now I have to get bust with housework as my MIL is coming for dinner and the dust bunnies are multiplying.

I'm feeling good and I do hope everyone else is. This time of year plays havoc with emotions so I am sending positive vibes for all of your emotions to be happy ones.

Ken enjoy your Neighborhood meeting tonight (sounds like a lot of fun and friends) and good luck with your meeting .

BIG Hugs

Good morning everyone. Hope this finds everyone well. I had Zumba last night and did 4 miles with Leslie Sansone this morning. I really feel great. So far this month, officially with TOPS, I have lost 2.25 pounds. I'd like to lose another 2.75 by Nov. 30 but not sure if I can lose quite that much. I'm sure going to try though.

Jen-Here's to a great meeting. I'll say a little prayer for you. I just know you're going to WOW them.

I'll check back in later.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I was MIA again this morning. I had my therapy at 7:30, then I hit the sales at Macy's and Boscov's. Boy are they right about stores having great sales this year. I got a number of things for Christmas presents at great prices!

I am headed off to the treadmill in a few minutes and then into the shower. I have F.A.N. Club tonight. It is Friends and Neighbors Club here in my new community. The neighbor across the street from me invited me to attend in September, and I joined last month. Tonight they are having a Top Chef appetizer competition and a local chef is judging the entries. Hana loves cooking and is going with me tonight. It should be fun. This is a really welcoming group of people.

Tomorrow will be a very stressful day for me. I have a big, important meeting in Baltimore. It has to do with work, but that is really all I can say about it. Just send me your good vibes, wishes and prayers. I can use them.

Have a great evening and a good day tomorrow!

Jen

Good morning friends. It's very blustery here today. Gusts up to 55 mph. Supposed to die down this afternoon. Hope so. I can handle the rain but I don't like the wind. Had some nasty rains last night too to go with it.

TOPS last night was great. I managed to actually lose .25. I was really afraid because of what the scale read on Monday but it must have all been water retention.

An update on my friends. He is coming along pretty well at rehab. She got into rehab Monday but they had to take her back to the hospital yesterday as she developed a blood clot in her leg. She really didn't want to go but it was for the best. Hopefully she won't be there long. The rehab place was nice enough to put them in a room with each other. Another friend that used to work there said that in the 16 years she worked there, she never saw that.

I work until 1 today the I get my hair cut then have to run to the grocery store for a few incidentals then home. Zumba tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Team! What a crazy day! I knew it would be busy at work since I had to run both payroll and the accts payable, but there were a ton of other things the boss needed for her board meeting tomorrow. I didn't even get a chance to eat my packed lunch. I was going to get to it around 2 and the next thing I knew it was almost 4 and time to go.

Then I had to hurry off to an appointment with my folks to get our pictures taken for the church directory. By the time we were done I was famished and decided to treat Mom and Dad to dinner at Logans. I did pretty good in the ordering though. I had the 6 oz steak, broccoli and a baked sweet potato. I sure am full now! Luckily we drove separately so I decided to get a few things done here at the office before calling it a day.

My knees are doing much better but I didn't go to Zumba last night. Although all the Zumba over the weekend seemed to help my weigh-in today. I got rid of 3 lbs since last week!

Donna - Your friends are still in my prayers. I'm glad you had a great time on your bus trip. It has been a long time since I worked the summer in DC, but I loved Baltimore and Annapolis and visited them both a few times. Good luck at TOPS tonight!

Dedrie - Woo Hoo! Glad you're getting back to your normal routine. And I'm sure your hubby was glad to be back home, too.

Cheryl - Hope you slept well last night. Sounds like your Monday was busy enough to tucker you out!

Nickey - I missed you but figured Kendell had you hopping! Hope the snow is not a permanent fixture for your winter yet!

Jen - Glad to hear that you're taking care of yourself. I guess that means things have calmed down enough so you can take care of you!

Suzzy - Sounds like you had one of those "good" busy days. And now you have your trip to look forward to as well!

Enjoy your Wednesday, everyone. November is already 1/2 over so keep things rolling in the right direction! See you Thursday!

Morning everyone. It's rainy, foggy and miserable outside today. Good I have an inside job.

After weighing at home yesterday morning and being horrified, I stepped on it this morning and it was back down to where it needs to be. Hope that holds true for TOPS tonight. I'm only weighing in then leaving tonight as I have a Christmas Party to attend. As so it begins, tis the season.

Oh Nickey-you can have all the snow this year, I don't want any, but it's always nice when you can stay home and not go out in it. Enjoy!

Jen-hopefully your life can get to some sort of normalcy after all the events that has happened in the last few months. Hope those treatments work on your legs to give you some relief from the pain.

Suzzy-Hang in there. The sun will come out again someday.

Have a nice day everyone.

Hello everyone,

been a busy morning for me as my brother in law dropped by for a visit while he was out and about. He is one of my best friends and more like a brother than an in-law. We even have nick names for each other.

Had to rush out to pick Tori up from co-op as Mark and I got chatting so much I lost track of time.
After getting home, I had a couple of long phone calls from family so now I am ready to get busy on housework and then get ready for the celebration of our friend's life which we will attend after my husband gets home from work.
I have to remember to pick him up now.

Going to do strength training before anything else and get my metabolism boosted.

THe sun was out this morning but rain is on the way. Temps are mild at 48F. Nickey I can't imagine waking up to snow since it is my worst enemy. I know it is coming soon but I am hoping it will be short lived like last winter.

Just 11 more sleeps and we are off to the Caribbean for sun and sand and we will probably be retuning to snow. I am almost counting on it because it will be December 5th when we return.

Jen glad to hear your therapy wasn't to hard on you and hope it will give you all the benefits of pain free legs really soon.

Dedrie, glad to hear hubby is home for you now and you can once again feel the warmth of his loving arms.

Sending best wishes to all for a happy and healthy day.

Hi everyone,

I woke up this monring to a ton of snow! I am so not ready for it to be winter. i am thinking of hibernating today. That is the great part of mat leave. If I don't feel like leaving the hosue I don't have to!

Weighed in this morning and was pleased to see I was down a couple of pounds since the start of the month. I really have not been doing much to deserve this (besides breastfeeding and cleaning up) I am hoping to start exercising more regularly soon. I just need to figure out some sort of routine that works with having a new baby!

Jen, glad to hear that the treatment was not too bad. take it easy today. I will pray that your treatment tomorrow goes well too!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Back at this! Doing it for my health and my family!

Hi Team!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I was pretty busy after Nora's dad died. Then my parents were here to visit all day Saturday. Yesterday I began my treatment for lymphodema in my legs. I was supposed to begin this months ago, but Hana was in the middle of PT 3 times per week and the house was up for sale. Then came the move and getting settled. So now I finally made the call to the hospital and set up the appointment and went. It was way less bad than I expected. My legs are so painful when touched that I was afraid of what the treatment would be like. There was massage, but it was not too painful. I go back tomorrow morning for the next treatment.

Suzzy, I hope the sun comes out soon! emoticon

Cheryl, I so hate not getting a good night's sleep. I hope tonight is better. emoticon

Nickey, Welcome back! I hope you had fun with your friend! emoticon

Donna, It sounds like you had a fun-filled weekend. Those pounds will come off quickly now that you are back home. emoticon

Janet, I hope your feet and knee are now feeling better. You must have danced off a lot of calories! emoticon

Dedrie, So glad your hubby is back! emoticon

Have a great day, everyone! emoticon

Hi everyone,

Sorry I was not around at all last week. I had a friend from high school visiting me for the week. It was so great to catch up, but gave me little time to get online. Hoping to be much better this week. I hope everyone has a good and productive day! Stay focused.

Good Morning Team,

This is my Sunday so I am moving slowly this morning. Didn't sleep worth a darn last night. Glad I didn't have to go to work. Been sewing, cooking and cleaning this weekend. Only have one more snuggie to make for Xmas.

I am sitting here looking at my exercise bike and it is calling my name so better get at it.

Donna, I will keep your friends in my prayers.

Good morning ladies. I know I was MIA this weekend. I did log in both days but didn't post anthing as I was on the bus trip. I'm glad to be home where there's not so much food. 2 1/2 weeks of work down the drain. Shock and horror when I stepped on the scale this morning. I'll have to try and get some of it off before weigh in at TOPS tomorrow evening. I have Zumba tonight so that should help. Way too many buffets and good foods. I don't feel that I ate as much as I used to but I still ate way too much. Not good!

We did have a good time and did a lot of walking. Oh, my aching foot. We went to the Annapolis Naval Academy, the National Aquarium, which I loved, and went to a dinner show. Those were on Saturday, then Mt. McHenry which is the birth place of The Star Spangled Banner, and a lot of shopping yesterday. We arrived back about 9:15 pm last night. Now back to work today.

An update on my friends that both had a stroke. The husband is now in rehab. The wife is improving and may go to rehab either today or tomorrow. The blood clot on her brain is disolving but she doesn't know too many people. That's a bad sign. Keep praying for them.

Well, I must finish getting ready for work. I'll try to check in later.

Donna

Hi Team! Today was a day of rest and recouperation. I think I overestimated how much Zumba my body could take. I loved the party Friday night, but I basically danced 2 hours non-stop! I was hobbling to bed Friday night only to get up and go to an hour of Zumba toning Saturday morning. I tried to go easy on my knees, but one was swelling up pretty good afterward. I iced them and lathered them well with African shea butter when I got home. I've mostly stayed off my feet the rest of the weekend so they could heal. Not too big a deal since the weather was crappy. It allowed me to catch up reading my library books. I need to return them soon so it was a good weekend to read.

I don't know what the weather is supposed to be like the rest of the week, but it won't matter much anyways since tomorrow is the opening day of deer season. It is best to just stay inside during the hunting season. Safer for both me and the dog even though I wear orange on our walks. Afterwards it will be December so I guess it is time to figure out how I'll be getting my exercise during the winter months. Of course there is Zumba available 3 days per week. If my knees are up for it I'd like to go tomorrow night after I'm done tutoring. Maybe another night of ice and shea butter will do the trick.

Cheryl - Way to go keeping up your exercise bike routine! I'm so sorry to hear things are bad at work. It is amazing how much work stress can affect your home life. Try and leave the stress at work and do your stress relievers when you get home. I've got you in my prayers!

Dedrie - Good to hear from you, we miss you! Hope things will be back to normal soon for you. Is your hubby back home yet?

Brenda - Hope you and the baby were able to get back to sleep and get some rest. At least you were able to use your time up productively! Thanks for your prayers and insights into friendship!

Jen - Hope you were able to rest up today with everything on your plate!

Suzzy - So sorry to hear about your bowling friend. It seems like the outgoing fun people always go quickly in death. That on top of your back problems, too. It is so disappointing when our bodies tell us we can't do something we love to do anymore. Glad you were able to enjoy some time with your mom, though.

Have a great start to the week everyone! Thanks for the encouragement to get me started on mine, too!

Hi everyone,

had a great visit at my moms last night as I always do and we password for a couple of hours. Then we started talking about old times when we were both kids and the time seemed to fly by. I love being with my mom who is also my best friend.

Thank you Jen for you kind words. My back is actually improved today so I am going rest it for a few days and see if it completely recovers

The rabies clinics are the best. Vet bills can be so outrageously over priced. When we have had to euthanize and old animal, we have been going to the Humane Society (SPCA)and they do it for a fraction of what a vet charges. MY last vet bill for euthanasia was almost $400.00 and the SPCA does it for $125.00 and you can be with your dog until the end.
They don't have the facility for you to stay with your cat but you can take them home with you to bury or have them cremated there or even buried in their cemetery for pets at an additional cost for a plot and marker.

I always donate to our SPCA and my granddaughter Tori does her co-op there as well as working there on the weekend for her charity work.

Today is not very nice out there. It is drizzling and damp with no sunshine in sight. emoticon After being spoiled all week with abundance of sunshine, it was inevitable that we would see it come to an end.

I can't complain as this is the best year I can remember for ideal weather conditions.

Have a great day everyone and know I am sending positive vibes your way to keep it healthy. emoticon

Hi Everyone!

I never finished my post yesterday. I was in the middle of it when my computer repair guy showed up to fix a printer problem we were having. Then my parents arrived and the day was off and running.

Suzzy, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. 64 is so young. I hope your back troubles improve. I hate to see you have to give up something you enjoy.

Hana has to be at the dojang at 9:30 this morning for instructor photos. Then she has to be back at 2PM for her individual photos. In the meantime we are going to hit the gym, have some lunch and try to get the cat vaccinated at the county rabies clinic. I am so tired of paying $200 every time I walk into the vet's office for anything that I thought I would give the $6.00 rabies clinic a try.

I plan to take it easy this evening. We have so many leftovers right now I think I can have a night with no cooking!

Have a great day!

Jen

hello everyone,

my puppy is playing open the door I want to come in and then she runs away when I get up to open it. Now I am going to make her beg to come in!

WE went to our league bowling last night to discover than one of our bowlers and close friend, had a heart attack in the morning and died. He was just 64 years old. He never smoked but he was heavy in the middle and liked his beer. One never knows when their time will come but this was a shock because Louie was a ball of energy and a lot of laughs.

I am thinking of giving bowling up for the rest of the year as my back started giving me trouble again last night and now it is a great deal of pain this morning. I will make a trip to the doctors this week to see if anything can be done but for now I will not be bowling.

Jen, I can understand the amount of stress you must be feeling right now and then having responsibilities on top of everything is certainly enough to tire you right out. Maybe you can get a relaxing day in tomorrow.

Cheryl, hope things get better at work for you but in this day and age where all they want to do is cut back back staff and expect the others to double up on their duties, it looks pretty grim. I hope you can find some relaxation at home that will help you face the days at work.

I am sending positive vibes to everyone for a relaxing a healthy weekend. May you all find time for yourselves.

Hi Everyone!

I am dragging this morning. It was a late night last night. I dropped Hana off at the dance and went back to Nora's mom's house. I had dinner with them and stayed with Nora and her mom after everyone else left to wait for the oldest son to arrive from Minnesota. We were basically keeping each other awake. Then I left to go pick up Hana from the dance. She had a good time, not all she hoped for, but lots of fun.

My parents are arriving this morning for a visit. Craig and my dad will go play golf. Mom and I will find something to do. I just hope I don't drag too badly. I am really tired.

Cheryl, I'm so sorry you are having difficulties at work. I can totally relate to what you are experiencing. We deal with state licensing and inspections and all the stress that comes with that.

Good early morning everyone.
emoticon Even on my day off I am up most of the night. I just fed the baby and thought I would check in while I am waiting to see if he is really going to go to sleep this time. emoticon

I am sorry that so many of you are having tough weeks. There is a lot of stress in the world, and it seems to hit more all at once. Speaking as one who has had a child in the hospital many times, and family members who have passed away recently, The support that you are all giving your friends is priceless.

I personally could not have survived with out my friends. Your friends are blessed to have each of you as a friend.

Thank you for serving others as well as you do. My prayers go out to the unfortunate couple that is both in the hospital and their family, and to Jen's Friend and their family.

I hope that as the week ends, you all have a better week. It is Sunday soon, we all can rest some and start again next week.

Good morning sparkers,

This morning I am wide awake and have just finished my interval training. It's amazing in how my body needs the morning workout because I was sooo tired at work yesterday. I just felt like heading back to sleep, but of course I couldn't. I keep saying that I want an afternoon workout and just need to do it. I believe I will get more energy afterwards and not have to take a nap.

Hi Team,

Haven't been posting much but have been reading them everyday in order to keep up with things.

The weather has been cold and nasty here. My body just aches terribly. I am still riding my exercise bike most mornings even if it is only for 15 or 20 minutes.

The stress at work has really got me down. Not sure if I mentioned it, but we just had our state survey inspection and failed it terribly. They put a "stop placement" on the building. Meaning that we cannot accept any new residents until things get fixed. It was mostly medication tracking errors that got us in trouble (nothing on my end, thank goodness). However, now the company wants to cut more hours because our census is so low. But the state says that we are under staffed. It feels like the company wants us to fail.

Everyday when I go into work I don't know what I am going to find. Very stressful.

Jen, I'm sorry you are having to deal with yet another passing of someone you care about. You are such a good friend.

I dropped in on Dedrie to see what's up with her but haven't heard back yet.

Wishing you all the best. Have a great weekend!

Hi Team! It was another gorgeous day but a cold front is supposed to come through this evening putting an end to the warm weather. Gotta expect cold in November anyways. At least I was able to get outside and enjoy it at the gardens during my shift. I took a walk along the wetland boardwalk then through the farm and woodland gardens so I was able to see a lot of wildlife out and about.

I'm at the office now so I can get some work done before heading off to Zumba. My instructor now can't make it, but I'm going to go anyways since the Zumba parties are a ton of fun.

Hope everyone else is experiencing nice weather and is out enjoying it!

Jen - Sorry to hear about your friend's dad passing. I'm sure she's glad to have your help through it right now. Hope Hana has a great time dancing tonight.

Suzzy - Woo Hoo on getting your bulbs planted! Hope the peach pits grow nice for you too. Enjoy the weather and good luck at bowling tonight!

Donna - Awesome! Keep up the great work. You're doing just what you said you wanted to do before your surgery so kudos to you. Enjoy your big weekend!

I'm thinking good thoughts for the rest of you and hope to see you on the boards soon. I'll be back Sunday evening!

Good afternoon everyone. I did another 4 miles this morning. I'm really racking up those minutes. I feel totally awesome. I stepped on the scale this morning and it read 143.8. I'm just thrilled about this. My pants are looser and I physically feel thinner.

Big weekend this weekend. I'm leaving on a bus trip at 5:30 am tomorrow morning. We're going to Inner Harbor, MD. to the Aquarium and Ft. McHenry and other places. We're also going to a dinner show and seeing A Christmas Carol. Sunday is mostly shopping at Arundell Mills Shopping Center. Should be lots of fun.

Janet-wish i had the chance to do that much Zumba. Seems like every time there is something like that around here, I'm either away or have to work.

Suzzy-I say, every day we have good weather is one less day we have of winter. It's been really nice here too. Have fun bowling.

Jen-Prayers go out to your friend Nora.

Well, better get back to work. I'll try to check in sometime this weekend.

HI everyone, another good day here for me and it is sunny and just waiting for the warmer air to hit which will be in a couple of hours.

jen, My sympathies to your friend Nora. It's so good that she has a kind friend such as yourself to help support her in this time of need.

Janet, glad you are having so much fun at your Zumba classes. They sound like a blast.

Donna, glad you are cleared for surgery. THis will help you by next summer so you should be able to get lots of power walking in then. You should be well healed "heeled" by then, no pun intended LOL to get out and run like the wind.

I haven't see Dedrie post in a few days so I hope she is doing well.

Brenda, every step you take counts as exercise. It is the one exercise you can do any time, anywhere at any pace.
You are doing good. Enjoy your time off hon.

I got my tulips all planted yesterday and just have to dig a spot to plant my 3 peach pits.
Hoping they will produce at least one good tree in memory of my brother.

Wishing everyone a great day and a fanatic weekend. I have my league bowling tonight and hopefully will get a couple good scores in. emoticon

Hi Team!

This will be a long day. My friend, Nora's dad died last night. I have a ham in the oven to take there. I will stop at the store on my way to pick up rolls and things for sandwiches, etc. I have to be back home by 2:30 to take Hana to have her hair done for their school dance tonight. This would be Homecoming, but since it is a brand new school, the dance is called The Inaugural Dance. I have to have her to a friend's house by 6:30 for the pre-party. Then I will head back to Nora's.

I wish you all a good day.

Hi Team! Another quiet day at work, but I just have a feeling next Tuesday when I go back will be crazy!

Zumba was great last night. I think a good adjustment at the chiropractor helped. My instructor is doing a 2 hour Zumba party on Friday with some other instructors as a fundraiser. I'm always exhausted, but I just love those kind of parties! Besides, it's like having 2 extra workouts this week!

Jen - Boy, you and the Marines are sure efficient. (Aren't they the ones that do more by 9 am than most get done in a day?) Hope today was just as productive for you. As for the heated jackets, they have an attachment plug that plugs into the motorcycle. I guess it is sort of like a heated car blanket that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Cheryl - Woo Hoo for getting on the exercise bike! Mind over matter. Hope you are feeling better soon, we'd like to see you thriving not just surviving!

Donna - Congrats on your TOPS loss and your test results. It would be strange if you weren't feeling a little apprehensive about an upcoming surgery. Sorry to hear about your friends. I'm adding them and you to my prayers. (I was already thinking of you since I figured you had today off.)

Suzzy - I'm so glad you're having a great day today. Hope you are just as productive as Jen. I'm glad dinner went well, too. I've heard that hearing aids have a hard time with certain tones. That maybe why your MIL can't hear your hubby very well.

Brenda - Every step counts! Hope you enjoy your time off and get well rested.

I wonder how Dedrie is managing with her hubby out of town. Hope everything is going okay!

I also wanted to say

Good morning. I have a lot to do today so don't have much time. I did my 4 mile DVD and need to pack for a weekend bus trip plus wrap birthday and Christmas gifts so need to get at it.

My tests were all fine yesterday, they saw no reason for me not to have the surgery. I dropped the paperwork off at my foot doctor and see her one last time before surgery on the 23rd. All's well so far. Getting really nervous with each passing day though.

I just found out that two of my friends, a husband and wife, are both in the hospital. He had a stroke first, then she did and they have since found a blood clot in her brain. He has lost some use of his right arm and speach. It doesn't sound good for either one, especially her. Please pray for them with me. Thanks.

Gotta run. I'll catch everyone up tomorrow. I'm home today because it's Veteran's Day and the bank is closed.

Thank a Veteran for their sacrifice.

Donna

Good morning everyone. I have woken up feeling pretty good today. I am praying that I continue to feel as good so I can get back to my regular power walking schedule and exercise program.

Dinner went well last night and MIL decided she wanted to go home by 6:30. She never stays for very long but I think it is because she is very deaf even with her hearing aid and just can't hear what we are saying most times.

I can raise my voice loud enough for her but my husband (although a big guy with a deep voice) can't seem to speak up loud enough at most times. i can't imagine it is very fun for my MIL who loses out on so much conversation because of her deafness that can't be fixed.

The sun is shining again today and the temps are warm enough that I turned the furnace off all night. My puppy (almost 6 months now) insists on being outside all the time. Sometimes she just sits on the back deck and watches the birds but she surely loves it outside.
Right now she is playing this game with me where she scratches on the door to come in and when I open it she runs away. Our back yard is fully fenced so our dogs have a huge area to run and play.

Well I am going ti get dressed and start working in my garden. I WILL get my tulips in today for sure since I am feeling so much better.

Hope everyone here is doing well and I send good vibes your way for a day of healthy choices and lots of fun things. emoticon

Hi everyone!

I am headed off to work again today. It is a busy week.

Suzzy, I hope you made it through dinner last night. I know how hard it is to make it through an evening of cooking and entertaining when you don't feel well.

Donna, How did your tests go? Are your results back yet?

Brenda, It's good to see you on here connecting with everyone.

Cheryl, I hope you are soon feeling 100%, too.

Janet, What are heated motorcycle jackets? That is something new to me.

I think we are going to have to hunt down Dedrie, Nickey, Rebecca and some other people. Where is everyone???

Have a great day and, for those of us who have it, enjoy the good weather while you can! emoticon

Good day to you all.
It has been a busy work week for me. I just got off work and I am exhausted! There were a lot of really sick patients the last few days. I am so tired after working my 12 hour shift that I can not get any more exercise in. I have do have a step counter and I have made sure that I get more than 12,000 steps each day I work! emoticon I do not get in much cardio, but I am hoping the steps will count in the end.

I am glad to have 2.5 days off to get some things done around the house and to get some cardio in this week.

I hope you all have a great day!! I am off to bed!!

Hi everyone,

sorry I have been quiet this past week but I am still feeling the wrath of my fibromyalgia.
I was feeling a bit better this morning but as the day has gone on and I have done a bit of housework, I am starting to feel achy and fatigued all over again.

I have my MIL coming for dinner this evening which quite frankly I a not looking forward to but I will smile as I always do and make the most of it.

The weather has been awesome all week with sunny days and temps in the high 50s and low 60's. Tomorrow is supposed the be the best day.

Please excuse my absence if I am not here too often until I am feeling back to normal. I am hoping it will be sooner than later.

Have a great day and keep it healthy.

Donna good job on the weight loss, you are doing great! emoticon

Good Morning everyone. How is everyone this fine day? The sun is shining and I feel wonderful. To start with, I lost another 3/4 pounds last night at TOPS. That's 2.5 gone in 2 weeks. Second, I did 4 miles with Leslie Sansone this morning. I just felt so energized that I started and didn't quit. Hope this feeling continues the rest of my life.

Geema-Good for you for just doing it, even if you didn't feel like it. Hope you feel better soon. I love seafood too.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Sparkers,

I'm still not feeling real well but surviving. I did get up and do 20 minutes on the exercise bike.

Today I am taking the residents out to do some shopping and then out to lunch at a seafood place. YUM!

Hi everyone!

Where are all the usual chatters? Everyone must be preparing for hibernation!

I can't believe it is already 10AM! I have done quite a lot already, (laundry, dinner in crockpot, desk work) but I have a number of errands to run today and have to hit the road.

I hope you have a fabulous day!
