I literally have been eating like an unhealthy teenager since May. Between graduation parties, Mother's Day, my birthday, family bbq's & weddings...I'm really feeling out of control. I know that I'm stronger than food & am feeling so overly stuffed that I know I have to get control on this NOW. I lost 40 lbs between July 2013 thru January 2014 & have gained almost all of it back. Although an illness assisted in my weight loss, I vowed, I wouldn't return to my pre-illness weight, but now I'm about 10 lbs from that weight. Today is a new day...not just because it's Monday, but because I'm not going to let food control me. It's going to take some strength, especially spiritual, to eat & exercise when my flesh doesn't feel like it, but through God...I know I can do this! Thank you for allowing me to share!!

Not following my diet protocol, could have lost much more weight instead of boucing back and forth. I also have not been getting to the pool as much as I would like, too cold and too much snow..

Good morning
First of all, I want to thank all of you for encouragement, supportIng and prayers. I havebeen MIA for about 4 years. Since then I have recovered from donating a kidney (2007) married (2009) and had a tumor removed by my brain that was affecting my vision (2-18-2013).
I have been active with my wellness team at my job. I have made a decisIon to come back to the team. I have gained about 20 pounds. I am ready and motivated now. I'm in it to win it. I'm coming back taking it slow. Thanks for everything.

Last night I watched 4 episodes of Supernatural with my daughter instead of studying for the entire 5 hours as planned. Then I stayed up until 1 am on Facebook. Got up today and ate beyond my fullness level due to the residual fatigue and only exercised 5 minutes. But I am going to do 30 mins of cardio and have my dinner of juice.

Eating healthy will always be a struggle for some of us. The trick is to be prepared with what to eat. If we don't prepare the meal at home we at least have to prepare what we will eat while out. I have to take healthy snacks along with me when I don't know where I be when I get hungry like when I'm out shopping.

Yes dear, I found that out a long time ago. If I don't eat I don't lose. In fact just before sparkpeople I went on slimfast. I loved the shakes and I ate one healthy meal each day. I ended up sick and not losing one pound.

I ate homemade pumpkin bread - 4 slices - yep just greedy - was not even hungry just saw everyone else eating and lost my way for a few minutes

I am back on track - had a nutri blast veggie/fruit smoothie for dinner whiles everyone else had meatless vegetable chili and homemade cornbread

I was fine after that

Now I have to get this pumpkin bread out of my house

So did I. I went on a short road trip with friends and ended up eating well over 1000 calories at one meal. I felt so disappointed in myself. emoticon Of course I will get back on track. I cooked today to take lunch to work. That's helps 100%

I made some really bad food choices this weekend. I told myself that I would not use any more excuses but of course I did. One piece of cake lead to chips, sode, ice cream, and other not so good foods. So I need to work on being more than a weekday warrior.

So here's to week 1 all over again! emoticon

Didn't just fall off the wagon - I dove in and rested there for...a MONTH! Watching the scale go up...but I refuse to put those additional pounds on my tracker. They WILL be gone by the end of this month - Thanksgiving or not! I AM BACK ON TRACK!!! I began tracking and have set goals in eating and exercise. I fell off track, but it's never too late to get back on. This weight didn't come on overnight, and I know it's not going to come off easy. emoticon

Collards, Green Beans, Blackeyed Peas, Fried Chicken, Mac n cheese, meatloaf and sweet tea......At least the meatloaf was healthy!! emoticon

Update: Did not eat all of the greens, peas, nor did I consume all of the chicken. The Meatloaf, Mac n cheese and tea, well, that is another story BUT I did not go back for seconds nor did I have dessert!!! emoticon

Had Portillo's need I say more?? Yes I do. I did only eat half burger & fries & half vanilla shake. Only meal of the day but I gotta have a piece of chicken to set off my fat intake...UGH!

If hunger is not the problem, then eating is not the solution.

Another good reducing exercise consists in placing both hands against the table edge and pushing back.

Jan 18, 2013, I weighed 151---today (5/29/13) my weight is 164.

I got discouraged because I trained so hard for a half marathon to lower my time, and fell short miserably! My previous time of 2:31:14 was matched with a new time of 2:46:31!! I was horrified as I watched my goal fade from view. Then I just resolved to enjoy the run but I really only masked my diappointment. I gave up my goal and returned to running enough to maintain some level of fitness. I quit putting up the mileage and committing to healthy eating and portion control.
I returned to SP this week and boy am I glad I did!! I'm feeling that feeling again! SP was where it all began for me and I must remember that here is where I belong! For Life!!
