Thank goodness you did give up. My family always tease me about measuring and weighing everything before I eat it. I tell them I'm not bothering them and it works for me. I'm not forcing them to do what I'm doing. It certainly made me aware of portion size. You better believe me it's a disappointing eye opener. But, with trail and error we will get it right. Keep making changes to make progress.

I almost gave up over the simplest of things. Last night I made brown rice (for the first time) with some lentil beans. Me and my fast self, went and helped myself to a cup of brown rice instead of looking up how much I should eat. Well when I put it the tracker, it came up to a whopping 640 calories--just from the rice alone! I was so down trodden that I actually had to stop myself from saying 'forget it!' and rushing out to the nearest dunkin donuts.
Well at least I learned a valuable lesson: When I'm not sure about portions, look it up :/
