A silk scarfe is always bette for your hair, but sometimes I use a bandanna over it because when I sweat, the silk scarfe doesn't quite catch the sweat. (YUCK!!!)

Luv4heels,
Should the scarf be the silk ones from the beauty supply stores. I have been needing to change my scarf for a while now. Let me know so I can make that change.I have been using some designer scarf i took from my mom its polyester I think.

Hey Epatanderson,

Please when you find out about what to do for short hair let me know. I will try and wrappit and do the blow dry thang. I go and get it done every other week, I'm not a person who curls hair anyways so you can imagine I do be looking a hot mess.LOL Keep me posted.

these are excellent ideas. I have not relaxed my hair since July because I haven't wanted to bother with deling with working out and keeping my hair in shape. It has been easier to wash and go. It gives me hope now that maybe I can go to a salon get my hair done and keep it looking fresh. Thanks for the info.

Yes, it should be a scafe if you have straight relaxed hair, because the scarfe keeps the hair tied down in place. The bonnet gives too much room for the hair to fluff out. Even if you have curly hair the scarfe maintains it. You can just shake it out once your work out is complete.

Hey. Thanks for the idea. I will have to try it out. Does it have to be a scarf? I wear a bonnet but then again I do not go the gym I workout at my house.

EPATANDERSON,
Since you have very short hair and you know that you will sweat it out, beat it to the punch-spritz a little settting lotion on your hair before you work out then tie it down with the scarfe. Once your workout is complete, keep te scarfe on and dry it out. WHALLA!!!

I have about 2 inches of hair on the top and 1/8 around the rest, short hair cut, spikes, even though I tie mine down, that is the hardest part the sides, the perspiration doesn't help. To keept the fresh look for me is ultra hard. Does anyone have a better solution?

My hair isn't relaxed, I just let it go wild or separate it into ponytails, but then I do my workout @ home.

I, too wear my hair wrapped in my scarf when I work out-but the advice to use the blow dryer after workouts is a good idea. Thanks!

I found that wrapping my hair and pinning it around the wrap, then tying a scarf tightly keeps my hair in great shape when the work out is over. I normally just keep it wrapped all night till morning.

TAMMYLO1229 posted a question about what to do with her hair while working out so it doesnt look bushy after. I wanted to share my solution with everyone.

SOLUTION:
If your hair is relaxed, you can do one of two things.
1- Before you work out wrap your hair as if you were going to bed at night and tie it down with a scarfe.(Works great for hair up to shoulder lenght)
-OR-
2- Brush it all back into tight ponytail (do not use a rubber band) and still use the scarfe. (Works better for longer hair)

Now this is what solves that bushy problem. There are hair dryers in most gyms, (The one that looks like a hand dryer)after your workout, stand under the dryer with your scarfe still on your head. When the scarfe is dry, most of the hair is dry as well.

I usually have to press the button 2-3 times. When you unwrap your hair it will look fresh from the Salon everytime.

If you want to get really fancy, you can pin curl it 4-6 sections and repeat the process above.

I hope this was helpful. It works for me, and I sweat everytime I go to the gym.
