Before I had my 1st child ( who is now 24) my waist was 24 inches so when I got pregnant I had alot of stretch marks and a pouch. One thing that helped me alot was mineral oil to soften and diminish the appearance of stretch marks, sit ups and wearing a good strong girdle. You might also want to try Mederma for your stretch marks. All of this will help.
I had the same issue and my daughters are 8 and 5 and I still have the stretch marks. Mine will not fade because they are deep. I would say try something that deals with evening out color on your skin and possibly coco butter. There are several "skin bleaching" products out there that are meant to even our skin tone. I would say b4 you use any of them contact a dermatologist.
I hope this helps
Starting Weight: 195 Short term Goal Weight: 175 Start Date: Feb 11, 2010 End Date: May 22, 2010
It happened to me with my first, but not with the 2nd. It took about 6 weeks for my tummy go back to it's natural color. I don't carry big so maybe that's why I probably don't have issues with discoloration.
I am not sure why african american's skin does that but mine did not during my pregnancy because I used Eucerine lotion throughout my pregnancy and I did not get any stretchmarks what so ever or skin discoloration at all. I also used Palmers Coco butter as well and it helped a lot...I still do this day have no stretchmarks and I gained weight about three years after my pregnancy due to my doctor giving me steriods when I had bronchitius..After my pregnancy my weight fell off rather quickly because I breastfed. But I kept the weight off for 2 1/2 years until I got sick. I would try to use Eucerine lotion and see if that helps also a lot of people say the Nivea works wonders as well! Hope this helps!

Well, I guess a question for the mommies who were pregnant:
How long did it take for the skin on your belly to go back to its normal color? My belly seemed fine through my whole pregnancy but once I gave birth the skin turned dark and weird and now is covered in stretch marks.
None of the women on my pregnancy message board are Black so I have yet to get an answer that I feel I can relate to on this! Any help?
