I drink water all day long; when i first started out it was kind of hard; but now it's like second nature. I have been doing it for about 4 years now. It is such a habit that like some of the other ladies, I don't go anywhere without my water. I also drink lemon water, and vitamin water, but mostly i stick to ice cold water. I have heard or read that you should not drink ice water after eating because it slows down the digestion of your food; so i drink a bottle of water without ice after i eat. The main thing is just to try and do it and keep working on it until you develop the habit, before you know it, it will be second nature.

Even though I forget to track it most of the time, I have been drinking water exclusively. I had a 12 oz can of Sierra Mist the other day and it tasted so nasty to me. I couldn't even finish it. That was so cool. I love me some Pepsi and Sierra Mist and I don't miss them at all. My skin is thanking me for all the water. My face doesn't look like the crypt keeper as much as it used to.
I get my water by the case from Sam's Club. I drink water 16 oz bottles -1 when I get up. 1 after breakfast - 1 with lunch- 1 with dinner also I drink tea. When I need flavor in it I add vitasplash metabolize it is like crystal lite but not as strong. I can only find it at Wal Mart. I keep the packets in my bag. That helps. The only downfall is I'm always going to the bathroom. As for the weight gain check your portion sizes. Sometimes you are eating more than one serving without even knowing it. Check your labels. Check sodium 'cause that makes you retain water. Reduce your carbs. Eat atleast 5 small meals every day. Hopefully this helps. Good luck. Charmaine

I just carry water with me everywhere I go. Just like you do mindless eating, you will do mindless drinking. I put out 4 bottles on the counter first thing in the morning. When they are gone I know I reached my limit. You will find a plan that will work for you. Maybe you need to take by adding a bottle a day until it become natural.

EPATANDERSON that is a great tip about drinking the car - I tend to carry a sports bottle with me and sip from it through out the day. I think I will add a bottle to the car to get my mornings water fix. Thx!

Suck a breath savers as you drink the water... a friend of mine does that and she claims it helps her...i personally do the lemon flavored crytal light...

If you are by a water cooler, drink a cup straight down, do it every hour, if you drink from bottles, pour 1/2 into a cup, and drink it straight down, until you become acustome to drinking water, add lemon/lime. In route to work, if you are driving, drink a bottle while in the car, when you get to work, you'll had 2 cups, the same for leaving work. Make sure you have enough distance that you do no have to use the restroom. Do not try to drink all at once, it seems like to much as you will become discouraged and not drink like you should.

use lemon juice in your water or crystal light (or the knock offs which are cheaper) either will add flavor with little or no calories. I read somewhere someone used pretzels as a treat for drinking water. She would use eight pretzels a day everytime she drank a glass she ate a pretzle.
I'm a water drinker so that's not one of my challenges but I do like to add a little flavor from time to time.
I have startd I think about two weeks ago. Within that time I have gained 7 lbs. I have been keeping a track of what I have been eating. I have been working out and walking. However, i am finding the 8 glasses of water a struggling goal to meet. Any ideas/suggestions??
