Thanks for the info. I am not sure when I will start yet but I would like to start some time soon. You are so right about committing to a spiritual fast if everything around you is not in order. I need to try and work on both right now.

I'm going to start the pre-cleansing on Monday so that on Thursday, I will start the fast completely. I have done it for 3 days and I felt tired at first but once I started concentrating on something other than food, I was okay. I feel now more than ever that I need to bring in the new year lighter and clearer which for me it to make sure my environment is clean and in order because I believe you can not fully commit to biblical fast if your surroundings is in chaos. So I am cleaning my house from top to bottom. Good luck to you and me.

I am a herb fanatic and have this cleansing tea that I have not tried yet, but plan to.
2cups of water 1/2 tsp powdered ginger 1/2 tsp powdered turmeric 1 tbsp maple syrup juice of 1/2 a lemon
Bring water to a boil, then add powdered herbs. simmer for 10 mins
Strain tea into a mug, add maple syrup and lemon juice, stirring to combine. drink warm
The tea base is black tea, but it will work with green tea as well. Just brew tea, then add the strained mixture to it.
hugs, Tanya

www.cleansingorsurgery.com But yes, as ColemanSr said, you must come off the cleanse properly. I've done the salt water flush. However, I've always been regular, it's just part of the cleanse. you don't have to order the salt from here, any good Health Food store has it. The lemonade diet is also a good cleanse. I did the gallbladder cleanse last year, and I didn't come off it right. My 66 year old friend did it, and came off correct. We both had incredible results.

The sea salt will not affect your blood pressure because of how much water you will be drinking with it and how fast it is going through your body. My mom did this everyday and after her cleanse she actually felt a lot better and her blood pressure went from 132/90 to 117/75. She has always had high blood pressure and she even stopped taking her medication while doing the cleanse.

OK thanks, I will take it from here. Do any of you know if the sea salt is healthy for people with high blood pressure or not? Of course I will check with my doctor first, but I just wanted to know if there were any personal experiences encountered with the sea salt.

Thank you all for your responses. Sorry I didn't post a link. Here is one:
http://www.mastercleanser.com/
I did do the salt water flushes and the laxative tea. I drank a cup or two of herbal tea during the days sometimes. I don't drink sugar with my tea so this was easy for me to do.
As far as the salt because it is sea salt and you are drinking so much water with it, it does not have any bad affects (like blood pressure, high sodium ,etc). It will go straight through you though and will keep coming so I usually would get up about 4 am (which is when the laxative teas kicked in) and do the salt water flush then. I would wake up about 5 am and i would start feeling the affects and it would keep coming every 10-20 minutes for another hour or so.

The information I read about the Master Cleanse includes the sea salt and warm water. I will look for the link and post it here later

Oh and if you have a juicer, Dr. Oz's green drink is actually not that bad! Like Oprah said, it does taste like "a glass of fresh". LOL

I haven't done Master Cleanse by the book, although I have a male friend that did it last year this time. After reading more about it I decided against doing it the way it's prescribed (salt flushes, teas, and the lemon concotion)...from what I'd read, the urge to go is because the amount of salt used in the flushes is a bit dangerous. BUT, I think with supervision it would be okay for short term.
That aside, I did a 14-day fast in January of this year and am actually about to start another one on Monday. I only drank water (nothing mixed in) and did do the laxative tea in the evenings for each of the 14 days and spent the time reading and concentrating on what's important to me. I was not weak and surprisingly had more energy.
Like you, after the fast, the rest of life kicked in and poor eating sent that energy down the drain again.
All in all I'd say go for it, but definitely do your due diligence (as with anything). Let me know how it goes!

Master cleanse is good, but can be dangerous, especially coming off, please check with your doctor. It can also throw off blood work. I tried it under doctor care.

KLYNNM69, I have heard about the sea salt and warm water, but is that part of the Master Cleanse or just a stand alone remedy?

CRIS_TRAVIS, How about adding a web link to the Master Cleanse site, so that we can just click on it to access the site from the post? No, I haven't heard of that before.

Hi Cris_Travis I actually like the Master Cleanse. I've used it before and I didn't have any negative affects. I'm acutally going to do it again in January. Also did you do the morning flush with the warm water and sea salt. That will definately "flush" the pipes.

Hi all,
I really need a cleanse and I need an inexpensive way to do it. I heard Dr. Oz say that if you just eat fruits and veggies (only) for a few days that should help. But I tried that a couple weeks ago and was still kinda clogged up (sorry) and it didn't feel like it worked.
I tried master cleanse before for 5 days and it worked. I lost 7 pounds and I was regular until about a week into pigging out again. The best thing was that I wasn't hungry at all during the whole 5 days. I mean I wanted food, but I wasn't hungry.
Have any of you ever tried it? How did it work for you? I have heard that it is dangerous but I have fasted (nothing by mouth) for religious reasons, for 5 days before and it didn't affect me negatively. What do you all think about the master cleanse?
