Jen- I volunteer almost every week day. Just not Friday. Sometimes I dread it but I'm always glad once I go and get out of the house. Also I go to the library almost everyday just to get out. I use the computers even though I can use my phone at home to do the same things. But your right-- having something important helps. Hope you get your stuff done today in the snow.

Today I'm going in at 10:45 ish (in time to relieve a lady who is new). I usually take in 3 books . I get a little manic about having multiple books around just in case I get bored and want to switch. Today I am taking just one on the art of writing. Each chapter has ideas one what to write about. I did also bring in some crocheting. As you can see I have spare time bc I just answer phones and help people who come to the office. Its not supposed to snow but there are flurries anyway. The high was 35 around 8am its going down all day and is currently about 30 and its 10 am.

Sarah- I'm hoping things are better today.

Kathleen- It's tough- this I know.

I have a few things going on today, and it decides to snow... go figure! HAHA. I'm struggling myself- but I make sure there are important things I need to do in order to get up and out. And also- the radio stations can play all the Christmas Music they want- it still doesn't always help! LOL... This one in particular plays it starting on Thanksgiving or a few days after... It's a little much- but it is the radio station that I listen to..

Sarah -- how is your husband doing now?

I'm just in the process of bouncing back after a bout of depression that lasted over a week. Getting out makes me feel so much better. I'm blessed. My son is bipolar as well so he reminds me I HAVE to get up and get out. emoticon I love my college boy

There were some complications during my husband's out patient procedure yesterday and they admitted him to the hospital. Things are looking better today so far. But we will still have to wait and see how things go before they release him.

We will be busy today...

I am going to my daughter's hockey game. It will be cold. Woke up a little later than usual and immediately took the dog for his morning ritual of a walk. By the end of the walk, he was crying because his feet were frozen. At least we made it in the driveway for his feet to make him cry out!

We will be out of town tomorrow for a doctor's appointment, so today I will be finishing up this week's housework.

Today I made diabetic friendly chocolate chip cookies for my husband. They are actually pretty good and don't make me feel guilty for eating one or two. The recipe is on my blog:

While they were in the oven I cleaned and organized my pantry, and all the kitchen drawers. It wasn't much, but it made me feel productive.

I remember high school - oh so many years ago! LOL

The high school experience went well... She was basically running around with her friends. Which was kinda good for me to see, but I wish she would have checked out the displays more-

Today requires cleaning. Currently I am doing a load of laundry- just washed dishes too. I will be going upstairs to see what I can chuck and tidy up.

I'm up early- for an early start on the day. Today we will be going to the local High School where my daughter will be attending this following year. She is excited for her next school. I remember when I had to go to high school- I was SO nervous.

I've been doing a version of the 5 year journal this year. (I changed it to 3 years because that's what my journal will hold and I can start a new one in 2020)
Anyone else heard of it or are you doing something similar?

I like the pop sugar list for 2018. I probably won't get to them all, but definitely will use it for ideas throughout the year.

I think I will start upstairs also- as I have been making much progress downstairs. Sounds like we are going to do well, and already are doing well... I have tried the flylady method- and to me it seems like a difficult commitment. I just can't seem to shine my sink every night. When I did do it, It made me feel SO SPECIAL in the AM when I woke to find the sink nice and shiny.

Has anyone heard of the 2018 Pop Sugar reading challenge? I am going to give that one a try. I sometimes don't always use reading as my in between tool- But I will try.

We did a big declutter and downsizing in 2016. We let go of over 5,000 items! Now I keep on top of it by doing a small declutter each week. (Usually 27 things as I follow the Flylady system.)

I will share that I am feeling a little down and out..I couldn't even pull myself out of bed early this am...I kept extending my wake up alarm ... I think I did it 5x.

So, has anyone been keeping up with the challenge of kicking clutter to the curb?
I did at my home. I am finding permanent places for things. It can get pretty overwhelming.

Jen-- you are in my thoughts. Hope you are better soon.


I'm having a really good peaceful day today. I haven't had a day this smooth in a while. hmm.. maybe thanksgiving was close but I had some events I didn't want to go to and felt guilt when i chose to stay home. But today, unless something surprises me I am good. I think part of it is i got a LOT of sleep last night.

I scheduled my month of December out and added up all my free time down to 15 minutes here and there. I'm gonna relax and decided how I'd most like to spend that time. This month I kinda dragged things out to fill time or wandered aimlessly trying to decide what to do next. i won't schedule it all but just have some ideas in mind.

Its 60 degrees at noon right now. I will walk after 3 when I'm done volunteering.

Jen- I'm gonna try out Pretty Little Liars. I am always looking for a new netflix series to get into. I (like everyone I guess) go on some binges from time to time). But for the most part I just watch an episode of a couple different ones at a time to prolong having them around.

Linn-- Congratulations on the new grandbaby! What a wonderful blessing!

This is day 2 of my "until Jan 3rd" workout regime. I still have to do the walking but I got in the other things. I ordered a book or two at the library on expressive writing. I am excited to see what they are about. They had good reviews on Amazon. Today has been peaceful. I went to Sunday School but not Church. My son came over and we talked a lot about how our thoughts create our reality and such. Its amazing how much we are alike even though we spent half his 20 years arpart. I love having abstract conversations with him.

ok I'm off. I have some research to do before I allow myself to start on netflix tonight.

My great grandson was born on Thanksgiving. He is a red head like his dad and weighed 4 lbs. 13 oz. He made his appearance a little early but is healthy and does not need oxygen.

I hope everyone had a great Saturday today-As Tomorrow is Sunday I hope that goes by well too... I have been watching Netflix- My spark friend Janet mentioned liking the show Pretty LIttle Liars and I have been hooked on watching it nonstop... I am on Season 1 session 13. It is so good and filled with tons of drama....

Daughter hung out with friends today. I got to bring her to her friends house then the Hockey Rink. Tomorrow will be a little less hectic for her- and she should be home for longer.

Today I spent most of the morning with my Mom and Nephew. He is in Boy Scouts so we hung out with the Troop for this Freezing AM. First we were at The Bay Park picking up litter or garbage people discard there. Then we went to the shooting range and the boys were taught how to safely shoot BB Guns... It would have been nicer if it was a tad warmer- but For the rest of the day I am trying to "warm up"

Happy Friday!

I can foresee the only problem so far with my Friday is my daughter going back to her Father's for the week... She stayed with me for 2 weeks this stay. I am so blessed with her presence.

I would love to connect on fitbit with you Sarah. Great! I'm not too familiar with the site yet- but I might be able to manage that. I had a different fitbit and now the Charge 2. It's ok. But not self-explanatory. So it makes it a tad difficult to learn.

I will take some time for reading the chosen book of the Month for November in our book club on Sparkpeople... It is a very quick read and I like that kind. I will also when I get home from my Daughter's Hockey Practice- I will make a journal entry before bed.... That will be goal #2.

Hi Inner Journey Folks! I was on a much needed spark break. Now that I'm back- I feel there is just so much to do- but I'm not going to sweat over it and work on little bits at a time....

Tomorrow my new Fit Bit is going to come in. YAY! Can't wait for it. Today I did get in 15 minutes of marching in place. That's always a good go to move. I did some grapevines- back and front, and front kicks too.... Seems to have loosened up my problematic side of the knee pain in both legs. Anyway- Hopefully pain free soon.....

Thank you. Great news at the doc's last week.... my shoulder looks good so no added therapy. I will just finish what he had already prescribed which is two weeks after this week.

Good morning. I hope all is well for everyone.

I'm an avid journaler, and like many on a weight loss mission. I recently had shoulder surgery and am now in physical therapy three days a week. The surgery set me back some on my exercise and I'm trying to rebuild my program.

I love so many of the prompts I've found here, so I thought I'd join you.

I lead the Biggest Loser group of teams here on SparkPeople and lead one of the 10 teams and co lead another while I train the new leaders. I am retired from teaching.

I will be looking forward to reading your blog.

Jen who was co leading Inner Journey let me know that she has been in the hospital and is now out and recovering. She hopes to be able to return eventually.

You have the right idea in that when putting together an exercise program, you have to also put in the limitations. You explained to me what Meniere means and if not careful, what happens. I will be writing a blog tomorrow about my new fitness program now that I can bend the knee almost all the way and need to get stronger and better. I think if I write it down and share it, I will be more accountable. I've slowed down too much the last few days.

I don't know where you work but you are doing your best here if you work too and have family responsibilities. I run a team and I know that you can't do it alone. It is hard. I will do my best to here. I do enjoy participating in the team and talking here with you.

Come in to the café and have a cup of coffee or tea and chat a while. This has been a trouble shooting week on a group of teams I lead. I am sorry that has taken so much time away from Inner Journey. How is everyone doing?

I have finally gotten an exercise routine started as of this morning. And I started working in my yard again. I have someone who comes once a week but is not a regular landscape and yard person. So he travels a lot. Right now he and his wife are in the Amazon for 3 weeks, so I was out planting the blubs that arrived this week. I still can't do the whole yard alone anymore with my bad back and Meniere's nausea and vertigo. But I can do some things. I had just gotten lazy.

Boy, I think I hated that knee bending exercise most of all. It hurt the most. But I sure am glad I gritted my teeth and pushed on through. Several of my friends ended up not able to bend their knee all the way. One did water therapy for months and months and it got much better. The other never did get better. You are doing great!!!!!!!!
