The play tonight was excellent. I am so glad we got season's tickets & I hope Tina will go for it next season & maybe Miss Linda too.
Tomorrow is the dinner for L'Arche and that's courtesy of Linda & I know it will be quite wonderful too.
Since the nursing home is on lockdown because of the flu I worked 6.5 hours at the clinic & I got to talk to a number of people and with my experience I think I was able to lead them in the right direction & give them some peace.
I did walk down 2 flights of stairs 3 times today & it felt so good but tonight my leg muscles are crabbing,
Off to the bed which looks absolutely wonderful tonight.

Hello!! emoticon

Almost there!! Have most everything done for the follow-up from the meeting. So tomorrow will be just final prep for my absence and consulting with those who will suddenly realize I will be gone for a month and they need something!! Susan was a star patient and because she was so deligent in the first 24 hours to keep her head face down she only had to do that for 36 hours!! Beauty! They are heading home now and I will see them again when we pick them up in Fort Myers for their visit with us in Florida.

Jean, I am with you when it comes to meetings; but I am not as pleasant as you ... I could just smack people who don't pay attention and have side conversations. It is so rude and juvenile. I don't think anyone particularly likes the way their body looks after 30 ... the time of the great decline!! Ha ha!!

Dyna, glad you had such a nice visit with Daryl; loved the picture of him and Don on FB ... he does look like is dad, doesn't he. Hope your dad is cooperative and gets well soon.

Janet, too bad you've had a back slide. I am hoping that you haven't signed off on the insurance claim and will get some nice compensation for all the grief you've had to endure. Am looking forward to seeing you in Calgary ... I agree, next time Florida.

Robin, your visit sounds like it is high quality family time; wonderful. When do you come back to the frozen north? It is sunny and quite mild here today so you shouldn't have too much winter to get through upon your return.

Well, better go back to work ...

Take Care,
Loretta

Quick hello before I head to bed. Tomorrow is the office day so up early. At least I am feeling better today that yesterday. My back is still a bit sore because he didn't touch it but my neck was much better today. Actually fellt pretty good. I did go to the chiropractor and he actually said I could wait two weeks this time. So bit by bit a little better. But he had commented before it was not so much jopint anymore as muscular. That's the physio part.
So not much exciting today. A nap after work, walking Shilo, going to jazzercise and that's about it. That time of the year.
Well I am off to bed for now.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Janet

Hi girls, Just a quick hello tonight. I went to a workshop this afternoon to set up next year in our data system. We managed to finish by 3 pm so I went for a tea with a friend and then went to the library and was still home by 6:30 for dinner. Worked out really good.
My dad's eye surgery went really well according to the doctor. He does have a clear cup thing that he only has to wear at night. Hopefully he behaves himself and recovers quickly, but like I've said, he's stubborn and very child like (read disagreeable) so we'll see.
Tomorrow night we are going to pick up the girls so looking forward to that.
Better get going - talk to you later... Hugs, Dyna

I've been posting so late lately that I feel as if I've been hit with the silly stick. Today I decided to post while there was still some daylight not that it's all sunny & that.
I had a call today and this week again the singalong is canceled because the nursing home is closed because of flu. London has been hard hit & there have been about 26 deaths from it. That's what happens with the frail elderly & people who don't get the flu shot and visitors who come in either with flu & not knowing it or have it and think they won't share it.
This just means that I can stay at the library longer. I really like to be able to help people or just listen to them & hopefully HEAR them. It really makes me feel good and I hope it helps them.
I was at the Parish Council last night & the three in the corner chatted all during the meeting. They claim they didn't but I wasn't the only one to complain but I must learn to keep my big fat trap shut. I'm the one who feels badly after I say something. They couldn't give a toot. I'm just such a softy.
Jan - I feel your pain! Not really but I do have an inkling. For your physio to take three tries to get your neck loose means that those knots are really strongly in there. Time & patience my friend and a lot of love from Shilo.
I am going to tell you something you may not have figured out. I am a lousy dieter. I hate dieting and I also hate exercise. Guess that covers me. No, not really. I hate the appearance of my body naked or clothed. Guess that about covers it.
Pat - Did I miss your date of nascence? I'm sorry. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!! I hope Gracie gave you lots of birthday kisses. Did Jim take you out to eat or did everyone have to come along?
Robin - Are you all snugly in the north? I can just imagine the children being read a story by Nana, Grandma, Granny, Glamma while the fire crackles on the hearth and nay number of naps being enjoyed. Sounds wonderful to me.
I hope the weather is good enough for you to get around.
Loretta - All ready for bikini time in FL. Might have to be a fur lined bikini but with that & a nice drink & a visit with our friends Pat & Jim (& lucky you get to meet Gracie - hugs from me) all will be well you golf demon.
Dyna - Isn't this just a swell day! They were ploughing snow at 2 a.m. around here so I was awake. I actually slept in until 9:30 & so did the cats. I think they must be getting used to less food - you may remember Bert the Round - I'm trying to cut down on his food.
I think it's better for me to post before my brain gets fried & there you are.

Hello ladies! Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days. Takes me a lot longer to get things done these days. So the time gets away from me and before I know it the choice is this or bed. Much as my choice would be to post I know I need the sleep. Plus been a bit sore again. Actually today was very sore which wasn't fun. I had one of those days at work and learned that I won't wait to take a break again as I paid for that. They will just have to wait. Thank goodness I had physio today. But it took him 3 tries to get my neck to release so he didn't even dare touch my back after that. Just put the tens machine and heat on it. Wasn't too happy to see it get that sore again. I actually had to take painkillers twice today. I am going to learn the hard way it could be a long process. But I know there is nothing more I can do as I am following everyones instructions and trying the best I can.
Went to the home show with my friend and her DH on Sunday. Really enjoyed what I saw of it. But they are funny and didn't want to pay for extra parking and my friend is very slow looking at stuff so only saw about 2/3rds of it. But I got a great brush for Shilo and happy to have one that works so well. Got a couple of other things and then we went to the Costco in there as well and picked up some groceries etc. That was pretty much the afternoon gone short of walking Shilo, dinner and dishes.
Yesterday was laundry after work, then jazzercise. Then I went to Canadian Tire and got a wood and wicker 3 drawer stand for DD for her birthday. She wants it to put all her sewing stuff in. It was on sale for 70% off.
Today after work I just took pain meds and had a nap before I had to go for physio. I got a laugh because Shilo joined me for my nap. It was funny to watch as she climbed up the bedspread to get in. People have said she looks like a fox and she certainly did the way she crawled up. Tonight I just soaked in the tub which did help and watched the hockey game. Learning how to do nothing out of neccesity.
Jean sorry to hear about your friends. I will say a prayer for them. So many people with so much to deal with. Makes me think I should suck it up and quit whining about the accident. I am walking around and can function if somewhat compromised. The WW thing is just me. I never do much halfway. But that can also be a problem as you tend to be very hard on yourself. Not like you aren't as well. I think you just need to relax about everything and work on eating healthy. You should never have to be hungry and just need to make healthy choices when you are and limit the junk.
Dyna glad you had such a nice visit with Daryl. But I expected you would enjoy having him for that long. Nice everyone got a chance to see him. Did they actually patch your dad's eye? My mom had a plastic cup she had to wear just overnight for a week. But what a pain with the eye drops. They go on forever and she gets the second done March 12th before she even gets to the end of the drops for the first one. We will be very glad when it is all over. Yes it would have been great if you guys were close enough for us all to get together. But we will just have to make it a goal at some point to get us all in one spot. I am voting for Florida!!
Loretta at least you have a good goal at the end of the meetings. You will be so glad to see it over and Florida on the horizon. I so wished I had been able to meet you guys down there. But at least I will get to see you in Calgary and pretty excited about that. Hope your sister does well. Must be hard to have to lay like that. Hopefully she is a patient person.
Pat hope you had a nice birthday. Gracie sounds like a sweetie. I have to admit I do quite enjoy some of the puppy antics but maybe not all of them. Shilo is cute when she tries to discretly steal socks!
Well I just took a 3rd painkiler so should head off and try and sleep.
Janet

I'm so glad you had such a good visit with Daryl, Dyna. I'll bet you miss him but you probably need a rest too.
I don't know how long it will take for them to get the map in the mail. It's an all volunteer group so it could take a bit of time.
Mine101 is in the Bellwood Plaza on the short arm just around the corner from the LCBO. I don't always find anything but when I do it isn't junk. Someone told me about that place you mentioned but I haven't been there yet. I do love getting something for a lot less. Actually I like Value Village more than Goodwill but I figure if I buy something for a lot less I can give it away quicker.
I was at a meeting at the church this evening so I had to stay up late to watch NCIS & now I am ready for bed.
I really would enjoy getting together. Too bad we can't take a pleat in the country so we could all get together.
Jean

Hi girls,
Well I'm here!!! Sorry to be AWOL for so long.but sounds like everyone has had a busy week as usual. We had a great week with Daryl. It was so nice to have him all to ourselves for a whole week. We planned to go to Karens on Tuesday or Wednesday but both those nights were bad weather wise so we ended up Skyping on Wednesday night. We had a nice visit with the girls and they were so excited to see Daryl. Rachel ran through all her tricks and managed to dominate the conversation for the first little while - LOL. Then Thursday night we went to a London Lightening basketball game. That was kind of neat. Daryl has gone to a few Toronto Raptors games but we hadn't been to a live basketball game so it was an experience. Luckily we had Daryl to help explain things. Friday night we went to my DP's for dinner and had a nice visit with them. We ended up going to Karen's on Saturday to watch Samantha swim. Then Don drove Daryl to the 401 to be picked up by his ride back to Toronto. I was thrilled that Daryl got to see Samantha swim and the girls were thrilled to have him there. Sunday I rested up all day - LOL.

Jean - I haven't seen any map - did you send it by post - I wish I had talked to you - I could have picked it up and we could have had a visit ! I'll let you know when I see it. But maybe we should have a coffee visit anyway. OK, where is Main 101. I'm a huge fan of second hand so I think I'll have to check this place out. I went to Bibles for Missions (or something like that ) at Hyde Park & Fanshawe and that's a real nice place. My friend volunteers there so I like to support them too.

Robin - sounds like you are having so much fun with your family - probably wouldn't matter where you were as long as you are together. Enjoy your time. We'll look forward to seeing pictures when you get home.

Janet - oh poor Shilo - hope her rash goes away quickly. Sounds like she's getting pretty frisky and she sure enjoys her walks. (and so do you!!) Sorry to hear that you aren't progressing as quickly as you think you should. I think you will have to be patient and take things slowly. I wish Jean and I lived closer to Calgary - we'll be there in spirit when you meet.

Pat - happy birthday to you. Hope you had a wonderful day and got totally spoiled. You guys have such a good outlook on life and you certainly aren't wasting your time. As long as you are happy doing what you do, then nothing else matters. Gracie is adorable - should be fun taking her for walks.

Loretta - you are counting down the hours now and totally motivated to get all your work done - LOL. I'm sure your month in Florida will be wonderful no matter the weather - at least its warmer than it is here. Your new pants sound cute and stretchy is always a plus for me.

Oh, forgot to tell you that my dad had catarac surgery today. If all goes well, he'll go in for the other eye next month. Mom will have her hands full with him. He's unstable at the best of times and now with a patch on the eye - well, hope he doesn't fall over.

Better get going - I see my laptop battery is very low - talk to you soon. Hugs, DYNA

It's a little on the late side so I will not be long going to bed. I got most of the cleaning and polishing done today & then off to the Deanery meeting tonight. I was late because I never can find the church in the little town until I've done the grand tour.
Tomorrow is yet another meeting and again on Wed. It keeps me busy so I don't spend a lot of time in the frig. & at least I have my days to myself.
I'm a little bummed because I just found out that the husband of one of the girls I used to work with (he's an Anglican priest) has Lymphoma, she has a blood disorder after recovering from Guillaume Barre disorder, & he had just announced his retirement. Anyone who is of the praying variety please pray for Sid & Elizabeth.
I am trying to make better choices food wise and didn't deny myself a snack tonight but made it Ryvita snack bread & tomato. I am going to see if I can do better without TOPS. All the yattering makes me eat & I think, after 64 years of dieting it might be a better idea to quit dieting and to start eating but in a much better way. We'll see.

Good Evening! emoticon

One day down, one day to go!! Got the minutes done for today as well so I will head home (or to Brian's actually) to see how Susan is doing. All reports are good and she is flat on her face at least until she sees the doctor tomorrow morning again at 0800. I think the painkillers are working well as she has been sleeping most of the time. Probably the best idea!

Better go say hello and then it will be home to bed so I'm "fresh as a daisy" tomorrow for round two!! Ha Ha Ha!!

Take Care,
Loretta

Robin, How I envy you. Being in Skye and having an outdoor clothesline! Who could ask for anything more? The kids will take a bit of resting up and that's the great thing about children. They let you know how they are feeling.
I'm sure that even if the weather is inclement you will have lots to do & lots to see. I haven't been that far north so I hope you take lots of pictures & post them.
Loretta - You are my hero! You do my workout for me. Once I get going I'm in shock & have to quit. Maybe once I get my knees injected I will be able to do more. As it is, if I bend my knees there is no stopping me until I am on the floor & then the cats have to pinch my bottom to get me up!
Dyna - I went to X-cess Cargo this afternoon and got new telephones for about $23.00. a three tiered bookshelf for $10.00 (if I would take it assembled & who wouldn't), a meal steamer, slippers & new car carpets. Everything was 33% off except for the bookcase which was marked down & then was 50% off. It's not fancy but will serve the purpose in here. Then I went to Food Basics to get yogurt & margarine & when I left there was little left in the store. I do know how to have fun!!
Pat - What a brilliant girl Gracie is to get out of her own room! She didn't want to make a mess in it. Did you tell her she would have to wait until you got home? Maybe she just didn't want to listen. I can just hear her saying "That will teach you not to take me to mass"!!
Jan - You are, as I have mentioned, my hero. You are the strong one my friend. I have been a member of WW & TOPS so many times & I have blown it each and every time and I am now thinking that perhaps I have tried too hard. Those are just the well known ones I have tried and, perhaps I need to quit trying so hard & just eat like a normal person to the best of my ability & get the back of my front moving.
I know that the parental units are a bit of a pain but I do envy all of you who have surviving parents. I would give anything to have my parents still here (although they would both be 106 so that might not be an option). I miss them both. I was 25 when my father died & 50 when Mum died & I miss them both so much. Of course I don't have to have them for dinner or drive them to places or put up with going to visit them.
Give them each hugs from me. That'll drive them crazy since they don't know me.
And hugs to all of you from me.

Hello! emoticon

Just finished my one hour cardio-weight workout and I feel like I was hit by a train! It will take me a long time to cool off after I workout so I will sit here quietly posting and drinking some more water. Susan and Barry will arrive later this afternoon and we are doing bbq ... it is +5 and sunny after all!! I will do some dressed up baked beans in the slow cooker, potato salad and burgers. Starting with a seven layer mexican dip with tortilla chips. Tomorrow is the beginning of my two day meeting which will be followed by a one-day meeting with some representatives from NEA/AFT reps from DC (like I needed that). The follow-up to finish everything before I leave will be hectic but worth it.

Pat, what the heck do you mean the temperatures are dropping the first week of March??!!! Oh well, it is better than here anyway. You should get some of those pants ... they are great fun and I think perfect for Florida. The pattern on mine is not too large and looks like lace, sort of. They are stretchy so very comfortable.

Robin, sounds like your place is beautiful; enjoy your time there with the kids. The UK stuff is so different ... I think I had to have a lessen on water, plumbing and lights in every hotel we stayed in because I couldn't figure out how things worked.

Janet, the WW meeting sounded quite interesting. Listening to other success stories doesn't motivate me (although I know it certainly helps others). I think it makes me feel ashamed that even without all the hurdles they have had to meet, I still can't stay on track to lose weight. I have booked June 21-23 for a trip to Calgary so you will just need to let me know what day will work best for breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee or dinner ... I am open to anything. I hope that once Robin is back home she can check her calendar and we can make it a three-some.

Well, I better go check on my FB stuff and then put the beans on and go get showered. Have a nice Sunday everyone!

Take Care,
Loretta

Robin, sounds like a great place that you have! Some of my ancestors were from Skye area. I always thought I'd like to rent a cottage in England or somewhere like that for a month and have a good visit. How are the temperatures?

It is hot here today 28C and looks like it will finish out Feb quite above 23C but the first week of March is looking cold and going down to 13C. Brrrr!

Janet, I know what you deal with from your DM as I have an echo here. They are coming for supper tonight and I am having pork roast. I couldn't find a nice beef roast here. We certainly have better beef at home. Veggies are peeled, table is set, Jim vacumned and Gracie is resting up.

I am doing the TOPS program on Tuesday so want to work on that this afternoon. Tomorrow I'll need to go over the play again for Tues. I have to dress in costume Tuesday as they are going to take publicity shots.

I'm going to have to get some of those hot new pants! They look better on a slimmer person but the trend will be gone by the time I am slim! LOL!

Gracie goes to the Vet tomorrow for her last puppy needle. When we came home from Church/brunch she was running around the house as she had opened the zipper on her crate & gotten out. She did poop but didn't pee until I took her outside. She wants out of her cage when she needs to poop. Doesn't matter how long you walk her around the yard before you go out, she has her own timing and it is never when she goes out to pee but about 20-30 minutes later whether she eats or not..

It's neat that so many of you have been to Stirling! We had another long drive yesterday to reach our holiday let on Skye. We stopped in Portree for groceries, then drove for another hour to Geary on the Waternish peninsula. We are almost at the north end of the peninsula, and look across to the Trotternish peninsula which goes farther north, but we are definitely in north Skye. Our rental is lovely, both Beth and I said "I want this house!" when we walked in. All the amenities are first class. There is a nice play yard for the children and a big farm shed type building which is a games room.
The power went off this morning and we eventually lit the wood stove, and of course the power came back on right after that! Our house faces east, and I was up to the loo in time to see a beautiful sunrise, after which I went back to sleep until 8:00! It is a bright sunny day but cool. I have to confess I haven't been out yet. It took us a while to get connected to the Internet. The housekeeper came over to make sure we were all right, and showed us how to turn it on and get the passwords once the power came on.
We are enjoying being with the family, the kids were so good on the drive, and are a bit tired and cranky today. I'm dong laundry-this place even has a clothes dryer as well as an electric clothes horse and of course an outdoor line.
I should go- hope you all have a restful Sunday.
Hugs,
Robin

Hello ladies! Just got in from Bellingham so a quick post and then off to bed seeing as I don't know how to sleep in. Even if I did Shilo would get me up!
It was quite nice having a Sat to myself. After my WW meeting this morning I talked for a bit with one of the other ladies I sit with at times. She was in an accident a month before me so we compare notess. Funny how similiar they are. We laughed at the fact we both said we judge good and bad days by wether we need to take an Aleve or not.
Then I did some laundry when I got home and it was quite nice out so took Shilo for a long walk. Was tired by then so actually had a short nap before I headed back down to WWs again. It was called One Amazing Day and was worldwide. So you met all the staff and they had their awards on display. Then they had 3 goups of members throughout the afternoon who shared their stories. They were very good and it was quite emotional for some of them. They all brought pictures to show and they all did a good job. It was nice having members from the local meetings stand up and give their stories. We have a new facility so they also had a ribbon cutting for that. They had lots of WW samples out fro everyone to try and lots of pictures and info around. They had a draw as well for door prizes that had been donated by the other stores in the comples. They got some nice donations. I did win a member kit for knowing where WW first started. But it was a nice afternoon and got to meet some new people and chat with others.
Then I headed off to Bellingham by myself. Needed a break from everyone today. DH was being a bit of a pain and wasn't in my good books. I am getting really tired of him expecting me to do everything but then constantly making comments insinuating I haven't done it properly. Then do it yourself!! But that's him and I shouldn't be surprised.
Called DM when I was on my way home (I do have bluetooth) and got a laugh when she said if she had known I was going to Bellingham she would have come. Then I wouldn't have got anything done!
Pat another busy weekend! Happy Birthday whenever it is. What day is your actual birthday? Don't you love mothers when they make comments like that. Sounds like something my mother would say.
Loretta you will be glad to get on the plane for Florida next week. The pants will be great for there. I still haven't given in and bought them but I want a pair of bright blue pants. However I did buy my first pair of skinny jeans the other day.Hope you get a good sleep tonight.
Jean hope you had a nice evening out. Shilo does like to be the center of attention and I do have leeway because of what she has been through. But also want to be careful we do end up with a well trained girl in the end so don't want her just having freedom to do whatever.
Well I think I may just head off to bed.
Janet

I thought I posted yesterday and here is what I thought I said "Jim & I helped with the setup for the Craft Fair from 10am-noon then I had lunch and played with Gracie then I went over to DP's for a 3 hour visit. My DM doesn't have enough to do and not many friends so time is long on her hands. I got home in time to make supper, now I can relax this evening."

Today we were at the Craft Fair from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. made some money for our social club and I got some great items from the craft vendors, a new handmade woven necklace, a handmade clown with a music box, a plate, sweaters with lace inserts in back for DM;s BD and for me, some scented candles that look like 3 washcloths piled in a triangle as a bathroom decoration and a pair of flipflop earrings. Then we had a rest in the afternoon before going with my DP's to their dance.

They are coming here for supper Sunday night and we are going out Monday night to celebrate my birthday with some of my friends. So they won't have anything to complain about this week! I might be back in the will this week.

My DM actually gave me a compliment tonight at the dance, she said the top I had on was a very nice colour on me - without any qualifying statements like -"I wish it was smaller so it would fit me".

Loretta, those flowery pants are back in style this year.

I haven't been to Stirling yet but I'll have to check to see if it is on my itinerary.

Good Evening! emoticon

We are just back from dinner with friends. I had a spinach salad and chicken satay rice bowl with peanut sauce ... it was very nice. Finished with coconut panna cotta which was disappointing. I got some great spring pants at the Bay today. They are white with black flowers all over. I can wear them with any color top to add some colour. I think I will wear them on the plane to Florida next week. Also got some new undies at Sears.

Jean, it is hard to hear at WW sometimes too but the leaders are pretty strict about only one person speaking at a time and stop the side conversations quickly. Not that I have been to a meeting in over a month.

Robin, I too chime in with having seen Stirling. My experience was the tour arriving there early in the foggy fall morning and when we got out to walk to the castle someone was playing the bagpipes in the distance. A never to be forgotten moment for me.

Janet, I am very lucky how much Henry does. We have always had a pretty fair division of tasks and it has worked for us over the years. What was the special WW event? How did you like it ... any tips??

Well, I am going to head for bed as I am tired. Didn't sleep well last week so need to catch up.

Take Care,
Loretta

Here it is Sat afternoon & I am still in my nightie but that will change soon as I am going out for the evening.
I got a fair bit done last evening. I think my planning works better in the evening and definitely not the day. I fell asleep in front of the computer last night and woke after about an hour & a quarter & then crawled into bed. Got up just before 9 a.m.& spent the morning sleeping. Now I feel more up & about it.
Shilo will get used to her mother's timing but right now she is trying to be queen of the world. After all she's been through she deserves it.
So have a great day whatever you are doing.

Hello ladies. A quick post and I am off to bed. I am tired today and have been kind of sore. Just the sitting for 3 hours at the sewing thing after working was probably too much. But I wanted to go and did stand for a bit of it.
Had a long day today with all the appointments but they are all done and good to go for now. But was a busy in and out day. It rained here so hard this morning. Took Shilo for a walk around the block when it slowed a bit. She didn't think that was so great but did go to the bathroom so mission accomplished. I had time in the afternoon between the mammogram and the eye appointment to come home and take her for another longer walk. Which was much nicer as it had cleared up and was sunny by then.
I do get a reprieve tomorrow from taking DM shopping. There is a special thing on at WW in the afternoon and i would like to go. So I am sure DM isn't too pleased about that but it is what it is.
Jean good steal on the jacket. There are a lot of asian people in this area and we do notice they don't tend to be the cleanest of people. But that was gross.
Robin glad to hear you are having such a great time. I went to Stirling when I was in Scotland and did go through the castle. I love all the old stone buildings in Scotland.
Well I am off to get comfy and visit the land of nod.
Janet

I got a new to me winter jacket for $14.50 & no, that isn't a misprint. I went to my favourite shoppe - Main 101. They get higher end clothing and shoes & bags etc. The jacket was marked down to $20.00 & then they had 50% off but with taxes it took it up a bit but if I wear it just this winter it doesn't owe me anything.
I had my knees X-rayed today & there was an Asian man coughing into his hand and wiping his nose with his hand!!! Talk about gross. I forewarned the tech so she could wipe down the equipment. I guess there are still people who haven't learned that that is how we spread bugs.
I took the phone back to "The Source and was told that if I didn't have the packaging I couldn't return the battery & all the packaging I had was the plastic so they wouldn't take the battery back. Guess who won't be going there again & I think I will write a letter to their head office.
They were willing to sell me another phone for $40.00 which, with the battery I can't use brought the price up to $62.00 when I can wait until I see one at Xsess Cargo for under $20.00.
Robin - I am green with envy. I was in Stirling twice. Once in 1966 when I met two common ancestors and again 5 years later when Jessie was the only one left & had suffered a devastating stroke. During the 1966 visit she took me to the ancestral farm & I saw where my great grandfather had farmed & then she toured me around & took me to Bannochburn. She, a lady of size went across the stepping stones as if she did it all the time. Did I mention that she was also closer to 70 then 60 & I was 25. I stepped on one stone and the next foot ended up in the burn. Wonderful memories.
Jan - It is hard to be patient but I expect you will recover more quickly because of all your work getting and staying fit. Isn't it good that you can do all the stuff DH leaves. Maybe you learned by necessity but you are a star.
Pat - Gracie will learn. She's a baby yet & she has her Mum wrapped around her finger.
Dyna - How'd you like the weather today? All those people with the IQ of a piece of bellybutton lint who think they can turn corners at speed & then they go into the other lane. Nutbars they are!!!
Loretta - I was at the back today and there was a van with Alberta plates on it. I was very good. I didn't ask them if they knew you.
I haven't decided whether or not I will stay with TOPS. It's no use to me if I can't hear anything and the lady who is the captain is the captain of all the teams in London. I'll wait until I see the internist and I will talk to her about all this dieting stuff.
Tomorrow I am going to put all my diet & dieting books into the farthest bookcase. I have spent a small fortune over the years thinking that dieting books were going to change me.....Not!

Just about to crawl into bed here in our lovely B&B in Stirling, Scotland. It is called Castlecroft, and is right below Stirling Castle. I recommend it if you are ever here. Our hostess recommended a restaurant for dinner which was also very good. Great service, kid friendly, good food, nice ambiance and reasonable prices.
We had a good drive up from southern England, about 8 hours including two stops for bathroom breaks and for Lucy and Sam to get out of their car seats for a stretch. The kids have been so good! I sure was glad I wasn't driving. We are with two cars, but there still wan't room for both our big cases, which means we had to repack, and will have to go back to Beth's before we go home. ( We had planned to stop off in London so they could have a hassle-free Monday morning.)
It has been 49 years since I was in Scotland, a lot has changed but the scenery is the same. Stan was finally able to see the dry stone walls I've been trying to tell him about for years.
Tomorrow, on to Skye.
This morning when we got to Beth's Sam was running around the living room in circles. I said "Are you excited about the trip to Skye?"
He said "Yes, we're going to Scotland, and Mummy is making sandwiches!" Guess where his priorities lie!
Jean, good that you had a break from the singsong- flu not to be taken lightly! I agree, talking during a meeting or performance is rude and annoying. Good for you for continuing to lose!
Dyna, hope your weeks going well.
Pat, so true that therecarecalways a few who do most of the work. Hope your play is going ell.
Loretta, escape to Florida is near! I hope it works out for you, me and Janet to meet in June.
Janet, hope all you appointments went well today and that you have a good week-end.
Time to say good- night, will report in from Skye soon.
Hugs,
Robin

Hello ladies! I guess we are all finding this time of the year hard. I normally do at the best of times and can't wait for spring. That much worse than ususal with everything that has happened. Have had a very blah week this week and feeling a bit down about still getting so sore at times. I know I just have to be patient and I am getting better in little steps. But I know I will go up and down when I think it isn't fast enough. I was at a sewing display tonight and the lady beside me said she was rear ended in August and still going for treatments. When I hear that it just depresses me. But I am going to keep hoping it will not be like that unless something proves me wrong. But my house is such a mess with me not being able to do much and I think that is getting to me. I need to look into getting someone in to do a good clean for me.
Anyway today was my office day so very tired. But I have tomorrow off as several appointments so a busy afternoon. I give Shilo credit and so far she has been very good the days I have gone to work. Better than she is when I just go out for a couple hours in the afternoon. She's a little monkey. But she is so loving and cuddly at times I can't get too annoyed by the other stuff.
Jean best they keep people away if a lot of flu going around. We don't need you getting sick again. You are right that being down anything is good enough. They do emphasize at WW that all those little bits add up and all in the right direction. I am not looking forward to this week. I know I haven't done well with having a bit of blues but hey that's life. You will be glad to have Goerge's stuff taken care of and I am sure they appreciate it all.
Loretta you will be glad people have calmed down. But i do think this time of the year tends to be hard for most people. Nice Henry got all those things taken care of. Wish my DH was a bit more like that. He just leaves it all for me to deal with. Must be nice. I have booked the 3rd week of June off. So will have to sort out dates to fly with DM. I am hoping it works to fly Friday afternoon and come back the following Thurs or Fri so I have the weekend to get things back to normal. That way too if you guys can come on the weekend which is probably easier for you. I just have to figure out when we are going to do a shower for my DN while we are there. I am not sure where my older DB lives now as he has moved and we will be staying there. My youger one lives 10 mins from the airport. But I will be able to get downtown anyway. I will go down one of the weekdays and visit people I work with all the time which I am looking forward to. So at least you have a rough idea and will get dates sorted out. I am excited hoping we can get together. But would have liked it if it had been Florida which just isn't going to work right now.
Pat I certainly know from my kids years in school about the same people doing everything while others just enjoy the benifits. But I would have been one of the people helping you! I still always laugh because the year DD graduated I got an award from the school for graduating parent of the year for all the stuff I had done. I still get a kick out of me being the one who got awards that year. I came home with quite the haul with stuff from all my years in pac as well as the other things. Hope it doesn't take too long to get Gracie trained. Shilo goes very up and down. When I am home she is great but when I go out she retaliates :) Oh well they will both learn.
Well I must get off to bed.
Janet

I think we could all use a glass of wine right now. I quite like the Dan Ackroyd Merlot that I had at my friend's dinner party a week ago. It fights illness too. The other two who were there have been sick as can be but it couldn't have been the wine. We all drank it & not even straight from the bottle.
The singsong was cancelled because the home is under lock down with Flu amongst the people. I didn't mind because I got the church service over with early and got home to my crockpot "roast" beef, potatoes, carrots & onion followed by too much blueberry Greek yogurt & now my stomach is rumbling again.
The area captain for all of London is the same woman so I have decided that if the chatter gets too loud I will leave. I like the women who talk too much but I have old ears.
I have to go to the mall again tomorrow or maybe I will wait until Monday to return this battery that doesn't work.
Other than that I am yawning so will go to bed before I think I need food.
Jean

Hello! emoticon

Having a pretty good day today; eveyone seems to have calmed down since yesterday. I think a lot of people are fed up with winter and it is making us all a bit edgy. Not much else to report.

Jean, you may be at the "flop on to the sofa" portion of your day by now and I hope you are enjoying the relax.

Pat, it is pretty common that a small few reliable souls take on the bulk of the organizing but I agree with you that everyone who wants to participate needs to take a turn at helping with something. Enjoy your dinner guests.

Time to get back to work ...

Take Care,
Loretta

Sounds like you had a good day Jean and that job is done! I actually have a day off so I washed the kitchen, both bathroom floors the laundry room, side steps and started a bit of the screened room floor. I have been working on Gracie's training and she is still napping. I told DH he has to keep her in her crate unless she is 100% supervised. That works great while I'm home alone with her.

I have our friends Bruce & Karen coming for dinner tonight and I am making spare ribs. They had an exhausting day yesterday as they had 100 people for Michigan day. They and another couple were organizers.

Jim just got home so time for lunch. Later

We made it down to Hamilton with George's stuff and the Air Force Museum was happy to have all the stuff although they are overloaded with uniforms but the curator had never seen a Glenngary tartan kilt & was pleased to have it along with the fancy jacket - tails I guess it was.
The drive was windy but with the Subaru we were practically glued to the road. There was ground drift & a little snow.
Tonight I went to TOPS & in 2 weeks I am down a pound and I'm happy with that. Of course I would have liked more but at least it is down. I had a chat with the head honcho about the noise level and most of the people talking all at once & she said she was aware of it but no mention of doing something about it. It got just about as bad by the time the meeting was just about over.
Tomorrow is the day from H..l with library, singsong & evening prayer and the flopping on the sofa.
I think my problem is that I am shy & quite introverted & the only way I am comfortable talking is when it is on a machine.
I must arise early since I have the day from there so I will be off to bed now.
Jean

DH & I were just saying that we find there is a group here in the park who want us to entertain them. They want to attend the various dances, potlucks. flea markets, breakfasts, dinners, Saturday coffee, sports, games etc but they don't ever do much if anything to help. If you want to stay home & do your own thing and golf all day, go for it but if you want to attend the events put on by volunteers you should make your contribution.

We enjoy leading some events and participating in others and we will rest up when we go home. God has blessed us with many skills so we believe we should use our talents to make a better community here so we do more than our share.

Jean, I am sorry to hear about your self-doubt. We are a group of bright talented women and you are our leader. You need to start positive self talk and forget the rest, None of us is perfect but God don't make junk!

Good Day! emoticon

It is bright and sunny today but still quite cold. The sunshine does make it more tolerable. Henry is on a roll today. He has contacted Shaw and got our satellite service and PPV straightened around; Telus is booked to come and fix our staticy phone line between 1400-1600; he has checked on the fifth wheel storage and all is good there; he has washed his truck; and called the insurance company to send us a duplicate set of pink cards as they only sent one set and we need two. I, on the other hand, continue to slog away here tolerating a bunch of turkeys ... oh, woe is me!!!

Jean, I don't know why you think you are weird. I think you are very clever, extremely funny, generous to a fault and just an all round good person. So ... let's shelve the self doubt and remember you are a most worthy friend.

Pat, good to hear from you although reading your post tires me out. I don't think I ever want to be that busy when I am in Florida ... mind you I will just fill time up with different kinds of things, like golf. Glad to hear Gracie is making progress ... can't wait to meet her.

Janet, so, Robin, you and I must get dates and see if we can make a lunch in Calgary happen. I am always up for trip down south to buy shoes and shop ... eating out is just an added extra. There is a terrific restaurant on Prince's Island (downtown) that is very good called the River Cafe ... check it out and see what you think. The location might be a problem, but if you let us know where you will be we can find something close if that would work better.

Time to get to work ... again .. still ... aren't I a royal pain!!

Take Care,
Loretta

Just wanted to let all of you know I am surviving. Feb & march are always busy months in Florida and I haven't had a good night's sleep since we got Gracie. I took her out at 2 a.m. and again at 6:30. I am being a light sleeper listening to when she gets restless. Then I know she needs to go potty. She is getting better but not perfect yet on the potty training. After she goes to the vet next Monday and gets her third needle she will be able to go out for walks and that will help all of us.

I tried to post the other day and lost it by closing the page so now I'm going to save as I go!

The Canada party was terrific about 30 of us and we acted out charades of Canadian Inventions. What a lot of fun and even the old men participated - they are usually shy about games. Potluck was marvellous and conversations great!

Monday was a bit easier as I only had a 2 hour meeting with the March dance committee. Tuesday is always my busy day with TOPS, 2.5 hours of rehearsal & 5 hours bingo set-up & running the game.

I am resting this morning before 3 hours rehearsal this afternoon. I must call DM before she gets her nose out of joint. I don't have anything scheduled for tomorrow other than having Karen & bruce over for supper. They are running Michigan day today so I have to go down & take pictures before my rehearsal.

Friday we set up for the Craft Fair which is Saturday and we go to a dance with DP's on sat night. So life continues at a hectic pace. No time for spa days yet. I catch up on my rest when I go home.

I will notice a little more free time once the play is over, performances are March 9 & 10.

Gracie is as cute as a button and now weighs 5.4 lbs. She loves chewing everything even though she has piles of toys. She gets so excited when someone comes to visit. very friendly and not a barker. She is fascinated seeing all the birds from the screened room. She can't wait to explore the world.

I was down a lb at TOPS but still have about 1.5 lbs left to go to pre-cruise weight. Amazing how we lose the same few lbs over & over!

Hello ladies! Didn't get a chance to post last night as I was making banana muffins and then sat on the couch for a minute and was dozing off so figured I had better just head for bed. Not getting a lot of sleep lately with trying to take Shilo out later and back at work again. Will be glad when she gets a little older and able to hold it longer. But she is getting better.
Haven't done too bad this week and so far two days without getting too sore at work. That has been nice. I even noticed today that I wasn't just waiting for a break.
We had a beautiful sunny day today which was so nice. So Shilo got two good walks today. One my lunch and last coffee combined and another when I got home from physio. Wish it would last but don't think tomorrow is suppose to be too good.
The physio guy showed me another thing to try and see if I can help my neck stay in place when he fixes it. Hopefully. Plus I got a lesson in posture which was actually good. He pointed out to me that most people when they try to sit up straight also tend to lift there head which isn't good. That then puts pressure on your neck. So it was head up, shoulders down. chin down. Funny the things you don't notice till someone points them out. Plus he told me to adjust my car seat so it was straight up, then adjust my mirrors in that position. Then if I find the mirrors are a little off after that not to move them but to move me. I do find it interesting to learn all the things that affect this.
Went to aquasize tonight with my friend. She has an injured knee right now so this is all she can do. But it was fun and the hot tub was great. I will sleep well tonight.
Jean we love you just the way you are even if as you put it a little out of wack. That just makes you interesting and unique!! I am glad we got Shilo and have the chance to get her healthy. It makes sick to imagine what might have happened to that sweet little girl. She is so soft and cuddly.
Loretta you will be very glad to see the end of all these meetings. The break in Florida should definitely help. I could use some place warm about now and our weather isn't half as bad as yours is.
Robin glad you made it ok and not worn out from the trip. Sounds like you are having a great time. I am sure it is just wonderful to see the family in person. i sure hope it works to get together in Calgary. That would be wonderful!!
Well Shilo has gone off to bed with DH so I think I will head off as well.
Good night all!
Janet

So is that a new picture Robin? The one on your page. We are having blowing snow but not too bad. Just enough for me to hit the curb (or as they say in Jolly Olde - kerb) probably knocking the alignment a little out of whack but the car will then be the same as the owner.
Loretta- Your mantra should be "Only one more meeting before FL" Repeat often. Think of it this way - You get to go somewhere and I can't afford the down payment on a free lunch. Old saying that I have been waiting to use. Actually I have had so many lovely vacations & now I am paying for them.
Dyna - I hope you will let me know when the map comes and whether it is useful. As I said to Mr. Dunn "There are schools that have and those that don't so I am hoping they might cause even one student to become interested in their own province and what is there.
Jan - Little Miss Shilo has been through so much & now she is bringing your family joy. Who could ask for anything more & for each one that finds a new home I am sure there are hundreds who don't. I am so grateful for people like you and everyone who works to save animals.
Pat - I hope you have managed to get some restorative time with Miss Gracie before you have to get on with other things in your life. My sister was saying that they have had their furnace on every morning but turn it off at night because it is too noisy.
They wonder if this will be the last trip to FL because their insurance is extremely high since DBiL has an abdominal aneurysm that is stable at this point, bladder cancer that he has to have reamed out fairly often & DSis has melanoma that just went through dermis but the insurance people lump people with cancer together.
I have a kind of stabbing pain in one corner of my head and it is not Bert chomping down. Could be from me playing with the cyst that is on top of a blood vessel in my head.
I am feeling rather weird today especially after the lecture tonight that left me thinking about why I am the way I am - weird!
I can sit here and pound away on the keys and feel as if I am worthy but then in real life I don't feel that way. 'Tis a conundrum.
I am going to stay up to watch NCIS on the Calgary or BC channels I get & then I shall be off to bed as we are going to Hamilton tomorrow to deliver George's stuff to the aircraft museum.

Hello!!! emoticon

We had a Chinese New Year Lunch Buffet today so Henry and Brian came to have lunch with me. I even won a door prize!! Yeah!

Just about to go down and do the mailing for, yet another, two-day meeting which is next Monday and Tuesday. Oh well, I'm off to Florida after that for a month so shouldn't complain.

Robin, hearing the things you are doing and the places you are going (ie Tesco) reminds me of my visits to England with Aline ... we had such good times there. Where do Beth and Richard live? Continue to enjoy your vacation and family time. We are getting the cold and snow so you just enjoy those balmy English temps ... however, I know exactly what you mean about being cold there. Those English are the heartiest folks I know!!! Grab a sweater and an undershirt dear heart and you'll be fine.

Better get to work ...

Take Care,
Loretta

Hello!
Yes, we arrived safely in "Jolly Old". Our flight was smooth and we were both able to sleep much of the way, so we didn't arrive with the pole-axed tired feeling. Richard and Sam met us, we had a lovely dinner, and when we went to our friends' place our usual room was waiting and they had even put on the heating! Sunday we went to church, I went twice. Beth and Richard were the sides people at the 9:30 family communion- somewhat informal and noisy, but good. Richard had to sing in the choir for the 11:00 and Beth only had room for one extra person in her car, so I stayed and came home with Richard. Sunday afternoon we all went to Wellington Country Park. The family have season's passes, and Lucy and Sam love it. The weather was clear and sunny but not so warm, I felt really chilled. That night the heat was not on in our room, but we survived.
Monday Beth had two of her baby sign classes, so we went along. It's half-term week here, but these were to make up for some that she had to cancel earlier. When we got to our sleeping place our hosts weren't home, but they had given us a key. We did hear someone come in after we went to bed, but didn't see anyone this morning. They are having a water problem, a leak in the main under their driveway. It was supposed to be fixed yesterday , but wasn't.
Today we are having a resting and catching up day. Beth, Lucy and I made a trip Tesco to pick up a few things, and Beth and Stan have taken the kids to the park for an outing.
Tomorrow Richard's DP's are coming down from London and we are going out for lunch to celebrate Anne's 65th birthday. Hopefully we'll get to spend some time with our 'bedroom hosts' before we leave for Skye on Friday morning.
The weather has been clear and sunny, up to 10C in the day and lows of about -3 at night. I still feel chilly.
Beth and family eat very healthy (healthily?) and walk more so I'm hoping this will kick-start me into losing again.
Janet, it would be great to see you in Calgary, let's try to make it happen. Hope Shilo gets oveer all her ills so she can feel really good about being your new doggie!
Loretta, I hear you being so ready to be done work. We see on the highway cams it is not so nice at home today, hope you didn't get the snow again!
Dyna, how nice to have your DS stay. Hope your shopping trip goes well.
Beth just phoned from the park asking me to put supper on, so must go.
Love to you, Jean and Pat, don't want to neglect you. Hugs to all,
Robin

Good Evening! emoticon

Just a quick post before I go to bed ... went to Joey's for dinner tonight (despite the bitter cold). Had sliders and yam fries ... yum!! Not much else to report here. My neice left this morning so things are back to normal now that I have the guest room back in shape and ready for my next visitor.

Jean, I think a spa day is the best medicine for whatever may ail you!

Janet, sounds like Shilo probably thinks she is in paradise; she will get healthy with your love and devotion in no time. I was going to go to Costco today, but it is closed in Alberta on holidays.

Dyna, hope the shopping trip went well and you found some nice things. I bet you can't wait to spoil Daryl for a week; and he will love his momma's attention.

Well, must get to bed ... work tomorrow ... ugh!

The blue sky has disappeared & the grey is here. There was snow through the night but it's not up to my hooha so it's alright.
Loretta - I do agree with you that Pat doesn't sound like our Pat these days and I too wonder if she is burning the candle at both ends and in the middle. Don't you think a spa day is what she needs? I know I would like one. Maybe we could put a bug in Mr. Jim's ear to give her one for "Family Day" which just happens to be today in ON.
I didn't even have a hissy that there was no paper today. It's such a waste of trees & when my subscription runs out I will be cancelling it.
Jan - I am so glad it was you folks who got Shilo & I hope she realizes what a lucky dog she is. It's too bad she has all the problems of being a street walker but all the more reason to love her.
Pat - Read my post to Loretta & obey!!! Aren't I just Miss Bossy Boots but you really do sound as if you need Pat time. How is Gracie? I love her name.
The wind has picked up so my coffee is being cooled. The Lads greeted me warmly & I like to think it's because they love me but I think it's likely because I have control of the food.
Dyna - Do think I could think of your real first name when I was talking to Mr. Dunn! To me you are Dyna. Anyway he was happy to have the map donated to your school so I hope it gets there soon.
I hope you & your friend have a good day shopping. I had to go to Masonville Saturday to pick up my phone - never again. It had been four years since I had been there & it will be 400 'til I go there again.
Robin- Did you get there? I'll bet you are having a good time in spite of the time it takes to get there & you are more fortunate than my father was. He would not fly!!! "If God had meant me to fly he would have given me wings" to which my mother replied "If God had meant you to smoke He would have put a chimney in your head!" But I digress. He saw his parents only once after he came to Canada.
Off to the house of dogs.

Hello ladies! Well I almost hate to say we had a very nice afternoon. Another busy day today. After jazzercise we went out for breaky. Always enjoy that. Like you Loretta I enjoy my breakfast days.
Then I had to take Shilo to the vet. So turns out the rash she has is mange so another prescription. This one she takes for a month and then gets tested again. But he said she looks much better from the other stuff and gained almost a kg in about 10 days. At some point we will get this poor girl healthy. But he said a lot of it is the result of being on the street and to be expected.
Then DS came over and we went to Costco and got a new mattress for DH. Then we took the old one to the transfer station so that is done. Plus got a nice visit in with DS while we did that. Took Shilo for a walk and then headed up to DM to have a visit with DB.
Got home in time to watch the hockey game. DD came over and we went for a walk and took Shilo with us. We made it back to watch the end of the game but the canucks lost in the shoot out. So got lots done but not everything I hoped to.
Dyna hope the weather is ok for you to go shopping tomorrow. You will love having your DS home for the week.
Loretta sounds like you were having great food all day today. I think you are right and Shilo is going to be a bit of a goof. That would be wonderful if you guys could make it to Calgary. I would be thrilled. We are looking at possibly the third week of June.Yeah I think Florida is out for this March. Can't really go with a new puppy. Plus DM gets her other eye done March 12th. But that would have been nice. I told DM I would go for a week later in the year (maybe Sept) but DM said she won't go that far for a week. So we will have to wait then.
Jean are you back at home tomorrow? Nothing wrong with a day watching movies and reading. I wish!!
Pat you sound like you need a break. Hope you get to put your feet up tomorrow and relax.
Well I had best head off to bed.
Janet

Hi girls,
Its been a sunny, cold day here today but I just looked out my window and it is snowing like crazy. My friend and I are heading for Port Huron tomorrow to do a little stateside shopping. Sure hope the streamers stop so we can go.
I do have to go out and get gas tonight and I'm going to do that as soon as I finish here.

We were at Samantha's swimming lesson yesterday. She did really well and actually jumped off the side of the pool (with the instructor hanging on). She did give a little girly kick when she jumped which was really cute.
We got home late afternoon and didn't do much else. This morning I had coffee with my DPs and then got groceries and spent the afternoon cutting up veggies and putting dinner in the crock pot and doing laundry.

Daryl is coming to stay with us tomorrow for a week. He's going to be job shadowing at my cousins business. We are excited to have him with us and he's excited to be working!!
Anyway, it'll be an interesting week. We are having dinner with my DP's one night and another we are going to a London Lightening (basketball) game.

Janet - sure sounds like Shilo is on the mend. Sorry to hear you are still sore. Hopefully it'll get better soon.

Loretta - won't be long before you are in the sunny south (I hope). Nice to have someone cook you a big meal. It always tastes better when someone else cooks. I can't seem to resist cook books or diet books - crazy I know.

Robin - Wow, can't believe Nicole gained a pound already - she's doing so well. Glad to hear Brooklyn is taking it all in stride. Of course, getting lots of attention from the "grands" always helps. She'll miss you when you are gone.

Jean - sounds like your TOPS meetings are real social events. You've done well with your TOPS meetings. Sounds like you are keeping pretty busy these days.

Pat - Wow, you are indeed Jim's valentine - LOL. Don bought me spring flowers, which was a nice surprise. He's not real good at that kind of thing. Hope you get a little quiet time in between all your groups, etc. Maybe a little quiet, cuddle time with your girl. How's the little one doing anyway.

Well, I'd better get out and get my gas... Amazing Race starts tonight... Hugs, DYNA

Good Afternoon! emoticon

It was egg day today and I made my light version of eggs benedict since we had a house guest. Dinner tonight is roast chicken (one of those huge honkers I got from the Hutteriites), mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing and green and yellow beans. Everyone is having an afternoon nap so I am catching up on my e-mail and posting. It is dull, snowy and cold here today so a good day for lounging about.

Pat, you don't seem to be yourself these days. I hope Monday brings you some rest time and perhaps you will have some big events behind you then. I also saw how cool it was in Sebring today ... they won't be liking that at all.

Jean, I think I read an article somewhere by some comedian who said something to the effect that we would all probably benefit from diet books more if we hauled them all around with us for weights rather than reading them!! Continue enjoying your time with the dogs!

Janet, glad to hear that both you and Shilo are on the mend. She sounds like she is going to be a real little goof ... I do so love animals that have character, if only they could talk. Congrats on becoming a great aunt. You must let me know when you are in Calgary ... maybe Robin and I could zoom in to at least have lunch one day ... I am guessing you aren't going to get to Florida this March??

Time to baste the bird ... have a nice Sunday and, to those who get it, a great Family Day tomorrow.

We are having a lovely sunny day with no clouds in the sky but the temperature is -13C. It was fun scrapping my windows before I went to church.
I have no plans to do anything exciting - just watching movies and reading.
I have decided that all these books on diets etc are not helping me. I seem to be looking for a crutch but I think I need to be doing what I need to be doing and not looking for a magic cure for all this stuff. Do you think that I may be Getting it?
Must get back to the dog persons.
Jean

Going to leave for church in 5 minutes but DH hasn't made a move to get ready. I'll be glad when the Canada Party is over today. Can't wait for Monday! I don't know what I'm worried about but I am. Everyone will have a good time.

Tired today as we didn't get home until 11 p.m. from DP's Canada Party in their park. Very chilly today but supposed to warm up tomorrow. Hard to believe it is only 12C today but will be 27 C by Wed.

Hello ladies! Have had a couple of pretty good days which is nice. I was very glad I took Friday off and I think it was a good idea. I am going to take next Friday off as well. Partly because I have 3 appointments in the afternoon (mammogram, eye appointment and physio) and figure it is too much in one day. I am learning!
I did take it somewhat easy on Friday and after jazzercise just did a bunch of little things around the house. Then I did my ironing and watched a movie (Julie & Julia) which I borrowed from my friend about a year ago. Then after taking Shilo for a walk in the beautiful sunny afternoon we had I had physio.
One very nice thing was Friday afternoon I realized I could turn my head from side to side without any pulling at all. That was a first as even though I could do it before it did pull. That has still happened at times over the last day but at times there is no pulling there so it is getting better. Nice to see one thing get better and hopefully stays that way.
Found out yesterday that my niece in Calgary is 6 months pregnant. She had been living in Nova Scotia but came back at Christmas. They did a good job of not telling people till now. DM is thrilled she is going to get a great grandchild. The baby is due may 30th. So looks like I may be taking DM to Calgary in June at some point.
Today went to WW where I was only down .3 but just glad no gain as I wasn't very good valentines day at the office. Then did some laundry and took Shilo for a walk before I headed off to take DM shopping which actually wasn't too bad today. Had a nap when I got home and then after dinner DD came to go for a walk. Then it was just clean up the mess in the kitchen and thinking about bed now.
Tomorrow I have to take Shilo back to the vet to get checked but noticed today I haven't heard her cough at all which is a first. But I have to ask as she has what looks like some type of a rash between her eyes and it looks like it is getting worse. Next problem!! But I am sure that isn't a big worry just need to get it taken care off. You can sure tell she is feeling better as she has a lot more life to her. So nice to see.
Loretta I heard you were getting pretty nice weather right now. Hopefully it lasts. I took my car through a car wash last week but it didn't do a very good job and needs washed by hand. If you have never seen the Oregon Coast you will enjoy it. We went there for vacations for years when the kids were young and we all loved it.
Jean sounds like you are having a good weekend. Enjoy!!
Pat seems a bit ridiculous for canadians to have to have a international license for the us with all the agreements that are in place between the countries. Hopefully they will get that straightened out. But that's politics for you.
Well I am going to head off to bed. Haven't convinced Shilo yet it is ok to sleep in so she has been getting me up before 5 everyday. At least she fits in with my work hours but wouldn't mind 6 on Sunday!!

Hello! emoticon

We had a nice day today; it is warm and melting like crazy. Had to breakdown and Henry gave ol' Cynthia (that's my car) a bath 'cause she was so dirty you couldn't even walk past her and not get your clothes dirty. We had a lovely dinner at friends tonight; haven't seem them for a long while so it was good to catch up. We may plan to go with them to the Oregon Coast in September with the fifth wheel; it is a beautiful part of the country and I have aways wanted to see it.

We did go yesterday and get IDP's (all three of us); although everyone is saying that it won't be enforced, the kicker for us was a hint that if you were to be in an accident the insurance company may use it as an excuse to nullify your coverage; I doubt it would stick but it could certainly create a lot of headaches we decided we'd rather not deal with ... they cost us about $40 a piece and are good for a year.

Pat, it seems as though the law makers didn't really think this change through very well; but have recognized the problems and I have read will correct it in March but maybe not soon enough for us. What an awful tragedy for that poor fellow in your park; I'm sure his wife is just devastated.

Jean, I had some hiccups getting in to the site as well but it seems to be working properly now. Unless, of course, this post goes off into the ether world. Sounds like you are enjoying your current charges and are managing to keep the lads properly appeased so you shouldn't have to deal with Mr Pea-body again.

Time for bed, but I have to wait up for Stevie to get home from her wedding. I texted her about 1-1/2 hours ago to tell her we were home and she will text when she leaves but no word yet; I'm guessing the bride and groom would like their wedding party to stay to the end so it could be a long night for both of us. Maybe I'll go get a cappucinno and see what's on the TV to entertain me.

Have a good night ...

The Americans would be apalled if this kind of rule was applied to them anywhere in the world! They think everyone ion the world should speal American! I don't believe it is the Spanish speakers giving us the problem.

Just got home from the canadian party in myDP's park. Ours is tomorrow. I'll look forward to Monday!

Isn't that called Canadianese! Of course we have to act first & think later. We could turn it around and insist on people with a FL licence need to have an international licence in the language spoken in Canada - the Spanish speakers would be out of luck.
It is a lovely sunny day here. We had about 2cm of snow so everything looked great when I got up.
I went and tarted up the church, had breakfast with Martie & Tom, did a little shopping at Remark (homemade veg soup), I'm here feeding and cleaning for their royal furrinesses & soon I'll go to let the kids out of their crates.
I hope all are having a good day.

Loretta, the International Driving Permit was a complete surprise to all of us here too and the rental companies didn't even know about it. Florida has determined that it is probably a violation of the Geneva Convention which the U.S. is a signatory to, so Florida is not going to enforce it until they check it out. In March when they reconvene they will amend the law to exclude drivers licenses written in English from Canada. I think they forgot they could already read "Canadian". Idiotic of course! Not sure if Quebec license will qualify.

I had a hard time getting on the site today. Did it all the way I normally do and at first couldn't find the site at all but here I am. I am home to see to my guys and at the moment Bert is lying on the floor beside my desk...like he really cares...NOT!
My friend Tina gave me a small bouquet of spring flowers & she gave our friend Linda the same & Linda gave each of us a little hand thrown dish & I gave each of them the delight of having me present. Actually I gave Linda a book.
The Rev's kids are being good although Bridey got off the bed when I turned over. I think she thought I might land on her. I was looking out the window and there was a nuthatch running all over the tree - so neat. I've put on my snow boots so I can go fill the feeders when I get back.
I think we are all feeling the mid winter blahs. My complaint about my TOPS group is that everyone talks at once and with dodgy hearing anyway it is difficult. Really a waste of my time.
I wonder if we should all stop dieting and just plan to eat like normal people do.
Guess I should be getting back. I made the print so big on my computer that it looks weird but fun.

Good Morning! emoticon

We had a nice dinner and visit last night. Barry and Susan will head home with the looonng trailer their daughter bought (it is one of those that you haul horses in the back and then there are living quarters in the front ... for her barrel racing). Hopefully this freezing rain we have won't last too long into their journey.

Henry is packaging up the satellite dish and receiver to FedEx to Sebring this morning and then I think he is just hanging out so if I can, I might leave work early today.

Pat, nice gifts from Jim, you a lucky girl. What's your take on this news we just got on requiring an International Driver Permit for Florida? Know anything about that? I'm just concerned that even though they say they won't be enforcing it for Canadians that the rental companies might have to follow the procedure and Henry will need to produce one for us to get our rental car in Orlando on the 4th.

Janet, sorry to hear your return was uncomfortable; I guess, as the doctor says, it is to be expected. Hopefully it will ease off in time. I have stopped going to WW and tracking ... I need to get my head on straight about things, I'm just not into right now and the whole thing is just making me more and more unhappy. Maybe when I get back in April and am alone for a month I will be able to focus on me and my plan.

Well, better get to work ... have a great day!

Take Care,
Loretta

Hello ladies! A very long day today with my first day back at the office. But I survived if a little worse for the wear. Shilo made out ok at home which was nice. I took her for a walk as soon as I got home as I knew I had to leave again to go to the Dr. But she was ok. Nice that she is basically coming to me when I call her now (at least most times). I figure that is a big step.
I talked to the Dr about being so much more sore this week and he said that was going to happen regardless of when I went back because of working on a computer but I had to go back at some point. So he said just to keep up with the physio and that will help. That it will settle down and get better at some point and just to be patient and keep working. Point made! Even if I don't like knowing I still have some time to go. Just wishful thinking.
Didn't do so well on staying away from all the treats today. Harder being tired and sore and everyone walking around with food all day. So I am not expecting a loss this week. But oh well that will happen at times and it was only one day. Too bad it couldn't have been Monday!!
Sure looking forward to having tomorrow off.
Pat sounds like you had a very good day. Nice gifts! Hope your dinner went well.
Loretta that was nice of your sister to make such a great dinner for you. We will both be in the same boat on Sat. Oh well onward and upward.
Jean hopefully the shot does help your hip. Having a family full of arthritis I know what it is like when people have a lot of pain. I have always been grateful I haven't got any problems and part of what motivates me to stay fit.
Well I am off to enjoy the comfort of my bed.
Janet

I had a good day Jim gave me a dozen roses and a heart shaped box of chocolates. In addition he had my new Tanzanite stone I bought on the last cruise installed in my tanzanite ring he bought me 15 yrs ago. It looks like a new ring so shiny!

This morning I went to work on my lines with 2 of the other actors in the play, then to my meeting about the Canada party then I enjoyed a couple of hours at home before we took DP's out for supper and went to our HIHO meeting at the Club House.

An easier day tomorrow as I bring dessert to the Clubhouse at 1 p.m. pick up some items at the Dollar Store for Canada Day go and eat the ham dinner at the clubhouse with the other Boat Club workers at 3 p.m. then serve the ham dinner from 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Well, my sister is making us dinner tonight and I just talked to her and the menu is roast beef, mashed potatoes, turnip and carrots, gravy, her homemade buns, and pumpkin pie!! Oh dear, there goes the plan!!! I don't care, I don't get to enjoy her home cooking very often and I am going to embrace the occasion. Stevie will arrive for her weekend stay with us tonight and she will be having dinner with us too ... great!!! Susan's surgery will be the 25th and they are going to take care of a cataract at the same time. She and Barry will stay with Brian again then as his house is more comfortable for the convalescence than mine. Not to mention, I have Council then and won't be around anyway.

Better get myself back to work ... have a nice day everyone.

Take Care,
Loretta

Dyna - Aren't I just the silly sausage. I will call Lord Elgin and see if they want the other map. the picture of the girls is adorable. You make great granddaughters!!
Pat -That is so sad for that family. My friend Bob rides his bike I think it is 10K a day but he is on country roads where people don't go quite as fast & the roads are not crowded.
Jan - Sounds as if Miss shilo is "getting it". She can play!!! Yeah!! You folks are going to have so much fun & love from her.
Robin - Take Gravol when you get on the plane. It works for me. I really don't know if it's all in my head or not though.
We are having snow flurries but they are saying that it will turn to rain later.
Loretta - There is a program on TV called "To Serve & Protect" . Comes from Edmonton and there are some of those police officers I would like to adopt!!! They are fine looking.
I had my right hip injected & hopefully that will take care of the bursitis. I am going to get a referral for my knees. Take care of your joints folks.
Doesn't seem to have slowed me down and I must get organized so I won't be late for the sing along.

Hello Friends:
Blessed Ash Wednesday to you. We didn't have church, and it seemed like a normal day.
I went to the post office in both Jenner and Buffalo and to the dump, and was unpleasantly surprised when I got up to the highway to find snow blowing across and sticking to the road although the sun was shining. I thought of going back, but really had to get these errands done, so went slowly and carefully and got through it all right. I don't think Stan really believed me until he looked at the road report this evening. We want to go to Medicine Hat tomorrow; I have an appointment with Sheila's doctor to discuss her meds (she asked me to do this and I have power of attorney) we need to get some British currency and Stan wants to go out for dinner as it is Valentine's day. We got engaged on Valentine's day, so it's kind of special. Hoping the snow ploughs will have been out by the time we leave.
Brooklyn and I took down the bows and greenery yesterday, and had a good time in the snow. Willie told me Brooklyn doesn't like pancakes, so I saved her a serving of the casserole we had Monday night; guess what she ate at supper! Especially good off Papa's plate.
I got most of the clothing packed in the pods, but Stan has decided the suitcases smell mouldy, and he's allergic to mould, so we're going to get new luggage tomorrow. Really, the cases we have weren't expensive to begin with, and have travelled far, so it's probably time. It is damp in the sea can where we store the luggage, and I admit the cases do smell musty, but I think Febreze might have solved it. Oh well!
Nicole had her check-up yesterday an she's gained a pound since she came home from the hospital. She is a good baby, which is a blessing. Brooklyn seems to take it all in stride pretty well.
Feeling sleepy so will say good night; hope to get a good rest tonight and tomorrow night, as we will be on the plane all Friday night, never really sleep much or well there.
I wish you all a good rest and happy Thursday.

Tuesday was TOPS (I gained 1 lb) then rehearsal for 2 hrs & 5 hrs of Bingo. Today we had Ash Wednesday church, 3 hours of rehearsal and Book Club tonight and my pictures came out in the newspaper for the Health Fair I covered. Tomorrow more rehearsal, Canada Party meeting and HIHO meeting. Every day is like that.

I doubt if I'll have much more time to relax next year but I won't be so busy with Grandmothers and no play but I have taken on the anniversary party for those celebrating 50+ yrs but that only happens every 5 yrs.

We had a tragic event here as one of our 65 yr old neighbours was killed about 1/2 mile from home riding his bike. The Park is in shock as he was a real fitness nut and loved to go on 50 mile bike rides. His wife wanted him to go to bingo with her but he went bike riding instead and she was with us at Bingo when it happened. She left tonight with her daughter to go to Indiana for the burial. So sad!

Must go to bed.

Hello ladies! Another long day. Not looking forward to going to the office tomorrow. First day back in and there will be tons of junk food around for Valentine's day. We will see how I manage with being sore not to give in and munch. But as long as I survive that I have Friday off and looking forward to that. Having a rough time with how sore I am again and my back has swollen up again in the one spot. I just want to be normal again. But I do know I just have to keep working at it and be patient. But don't do as good when there is backslides. I have a Dr appt tomorrow so will see what he says. So just busy tonight getting things ready for work.
Shilo is much better today and has been very playful which is nice. She has come to me several times today when I have called her which is a first. We had a nice afternoon so was able to leave the door open for a bit. She was hilarious running out with her rabbit, shaking it, chewing a bit, running back in, back out without it, back in to get it and back and forth. So nice to see her play like that. I think once she gets totally better she will be so much fun.
Dyna that's a lot of pancakes. Not back to normal yet and know it this week. But have to remind myself much better than it was.
Jean hard to keep track of your schedule and all your running around. No I wasn't the burglar they arrested. Don't think I have the energy for those hijinks right now.
Loretta how is Susan doing? Hope things went well. I know my DM is just fed up with all the eye drops she needs.
Well I must go finish putting work stuff together and head off to bed.
Janet

Hi girls,
Thought I'd drop you a quick hello while I'm watching Survivor. Nothing ever changes on that show but we still watch it.

Loretta - I had pancakes delivered to my desk yesterday twice - so we had our pancakes at home tonight. I'm pancaked out and feeling incredibly fat. Time to limit my carbs once again and buckle down.

Jean - oh my goodness - see you should have stayed home and safe on Friday. Seriously I'm glad you weren't battered too much and thank heavens for the ones who did help you out. Doesn't sound like it slowed you down too much. Oh, by the way, I'm at Lord Elgin - not Lord Nelson. We get confused all the time.

Robin - hope you have a wonderful time in England. How long will you be there?

Pat - sounds like you'll have a lot of fun acting in your play. You get to do lots of stuff you wouldn't do - LOL. I'm sure Gracie is hard to resist - she's adorable.

Janet - loved your picture - you and Shilo look like a match made in heaven - LOL. Sounds like you are getting back to your normal self - congrats on the weight loss. I'm just having a hard time getting my head around the idea of dieting. (sigh - what's new!!)

Well, better get going - Hugs, DYNA

I have been only half as busy today but I am still way behind. here it is 9:20 p.m. & I still have the dishes to do, suitcase to pack (so I can go play with Bridey & Beckett), the playlist to type & print & laundry to put away. Seems I don't have a maid! Who knew?
I was at church today and one of the ladies I drove is over 90 & walks far better than I do. She was run down by a scooter & knocked unconscious but broke nothing. Her granddaughter the lawyer wanted her to sue but she refused saying she wasn't badly hurt.
I should be able to get on Tim's computer but if I can't I will be back here for a couple of hours each day.
So, Jan. Were you the burglar they arrested in Langley today? I didn't think so. I know you are a good girl.
Long day - short note!

Good Morning! emoticon

We have sunny and warm but really windy this morning; that's okay, maybe it will dry things up! Susan and Barry arrived yesterday afternoon and he went with Henry and Brian to the Old Timers' Fishing Club meeting and Susan and I hit the fabric store (she is a mega quilter). We had a visit with them after the guys got home so didn't get to bed until after midnight ... very, very late for me!! She is now off to her appointment and Barry will let me know what's happening once they know anything. The plan is she is supposed to have the procedure sometime this afternoon.

Jean, you certainly could have given Pat and Janet a run for their money with activities yesterday. You must be feeling better.

Janet, I'm guessing the full days will be uncomfortable for a while. Best idea to just take it easy on Friday and let your body recover a bit.

Time to work ...

Take Care,
Loretta

Quick hello and then I am headed off to bed! Back on full days this week and finding that a little difficult. Yesterday wasn't too bad except for the last hour but today I was pretty sore. Not fun. Yesterday I went to jazzercise and then ran down to Bellingham quickly to change a couple skirts I got for DD for work. So that was the day gone. But I am on call this week and was the only day I could manage. Today I had physio after work so hoping when it settles down tomorrow it might be a bit better. I did go up to the pool tonight with my friend and did a modified aquasize class which did help relax things a bit and enjoyed a little hot tub after. Tomorrow I have the chiro after work and Thurs will hit hard as first day back in the office. then I have a Drs appointment when I get home. Will be glad to see Friday which I have off. Was hoping to do some cleaning but think I may just do nothing.
Anyway hopefully will catch up with you guys tomorrow.
Take care all.
Janet

I've had one them thar' busy days so I won't be long going to bed so I can get up and do it all again. I had Bible study this morning and then went off to Stratford to see my DGMother with her broken hip and head injury at age 96 1/2 & then back to London to work at the Pancake supper and then home to tidy up and clean floors and empty litter. It takes a lot to get me going but when I do get going I become a Janet.
My aunt is doing better now and she even "allowed" me to rub her feet - the itty bitty parts at the ends of her legs. She loves it when anyone rubs her feet.
We had only 137 people at the pancake supper down quite a bit from the last few years and we don't charge. It's free will offering.
Robin - Have you got your wings attached? Must be soon that you are going - is it this Friday? Say Hello to my rellies if you see them. You'll recognize them. They are the beautiful people. Am I getting a little silly?
Loretta - If I hadn't had supper at the church I would have hopped into my Leer jet and come to your place for dinner. Don't you just love the weather when it changes so much. Just be grateful you don't have a dog to go trolling for toys in the mud.
Jan - I didn't know DH's name was Tim. My nephew who died was Tim &, of course, our darling rector is Tim and our previous associate was Tim. Good name.
Pat - Whatever will you do with all your time? Maybe you can teach me and those like me - electronically challenged - about electronic dodahs!
Dyna - Is this spring break or whatever they call it now? I managed to find a home for one of the Temagami maps at your school but I have called other schools and not had any return calls. The lady at your school was both gracious and grateful.
Since I have a little energy left I am going to attempt to get my cell phone working.

Hello Everyone! emoticon

Happy Shrove Tuesday!! I think I just might make us pancakes for supper!! I love pancakes anytime and I did make banana waffles with blueberry syrup on Sunday and they were delicious. Also served some Canadian bacon with them ... yum!

Work is in a holding pattern right now so I am just waiting to see if we are going to need another emergent Council meeting or not; you just never know and have to be prepared for anything. Our weather has been very mild lately so we have melting and messy roads; can't keep the car clean.

Janet, poor Shilo, she is a product of her environment, I'm afraid. But, she has a great new owner who will get her better real soon. Great news that Tim is happy with his new position; that is terrific.

Jean, good grief, I hope you are alright and not suffering too much from the falls. I used to be shocked by people's lack of humanity but I am jaded that I don't expect anyone to do anything for anyone ... we have a very self-centred society now and it is only going to get worse. At least you eventually found two good samaritans.

Robin, so is Nicole a good baby? I hadn't realized you leave for "Jolly Old" so soon. You must be getting excited to see Beth and the children. I received photos from Aline's nephew the other day by FB and it snowed there!!! So, better pack your long underwear just in case.

Pat, oh, puppies are such fun; keep you laughing! Seems like you are going to be able to pass the torch on many of your projects this year; that will give some more time to relax next year.

Well, better do some work here; it is what they pay me for, after all!!

Take Care,
Loretta

Hi, just a quick note before bed so you know I haven't forgotten you emoticon

Saturday i got to sit with Nicole while Willie and Kendra took Brooklyn out for some playtime. Then Stan and went to the Valentine dinner and dance at Buffalo. We were on the first shift at the door, then had the rest of the evening free. The younger people seem to be giving us easier jobs!
Sunday I went to church, while Stan and Willie dealt with some calves that were shipped out for today's sale. After church I judged at the 4H public speaking competition. That was very enjoyable, and I was home by 5:00.
Today I changed the sheets and did laundry; the representative from the cattle auction came to video our steers for the on-line sale, and was here for coffee. This afternoon I started sewing a bunting bag and blanket I'm trying to make for Nicole. The fabric which is a fleecy knit is harder to work with than I expected, but I got it all cut out; hope I can finish it before we leave for England on Friday.
This evening we went up to Willie and Kendra's and signed the agreement for them to take over the management of the cropland and cows which goes into effect March 1. So when we return we will be retired! We'll see how that goes!

Jean, I hope you recover well from your falls! Not a good thing! Thank goodness for the good samaritan couple. Glad you got to TO and back on the roads. Get rested and stay safe, please.
Janet, love the picture of you and Shilo on FB. Glad things are sort of settling down for you. Enjoy the nice weather!
Pat, as busy as ever. wish I was close enough to see your play. Gracie sounds like a character!
Loretta, I'n sure you are busy with your company; hope all goes well for your sister with her eye surgery, it seems being still and face down that long would not be a fun time! Did the fishermen get a big catch?
Dyna, hope you were safe and warm during the storm, and that you had a snow day.

Well, tomorrow is a Brooklyn day as Nicole has her first check-up with the doctor. The weather is supposed to be nice, so we will go out and take down the red bows which I have purposely left up until now to lend a little colour to the snowy yard-scape. But I think the beginning of Lent is probably a sign Christmas decor should be done. I think it would be too depressing to find them still up when we returned from our trip. They still look nice against the snow, but enough's enough.

So off to bed to be ready for the morrow.
Wishing you all a good night and good Shrove Tuesday;
Robin

I realized that I didn't say anything about my baby Gracie. She is settling in nicely although the potty training is still hit & miss. We get lots of people coming to see her and she gets very excited about them. I'll be glad when she can go out and start walking. She is gaining weight & getting longer. I had to take the toilet paper rolls off the holders as she thought that was a great game!

I won't bother telling you I am busy as nothing changes on that front. Friday's Health Fair was wonderful and I got lorts of great pictures for the newspaper. Saturday I was MC at Coffee again for the Grandmothers Club, this Saturday will be my last one. Then we had the Grandmothers meeting and I had done a lot of prep work for it. Thankfully they got someone else to be President next year so I won't have to be on the executive so that will lighten my workload.

I am feeling better about the play now as I know all my part and I got my wardrobe arranged. One scene I needed to wear a jacjet with a pocket, 2 of the other scenes I need pockets in my pants and another scene I need to take off a coat & hat. I still have to dig out my hat. I get to steal money, hold a gun on people, douse someone in kerosene - just a regular nice person!

The play only happens every 2 years so I'll be off it too next year.

I've been trying to get someone to take over the Canada Party for next year but no luck yet.

Yesterday we had a consultation with the director of the chorus for what she needs Jim & I to do for their performance. I need to take pictures of the dogs in the park and pictures of a strongman competition which isn't scheduled yet.

Today Mom & i went shopping from 10:30 -4:45 and my feet are yelling tonight! I spent lots of money mostly on me. At least DH had supper ready.

Tomorrow is TOPS, I was doing well until I fell off the wagon at potluck! I have been hungry ever since. Rehearsal is 1-3 p.m. and bingo 5-10 so another full day. I have to remember to order the Canada Day cake too.

Jean what are we going to do with you! Me thinks you should have stayed home and safe. Glad the retreat was at least excellent and someone did eventually come and help you. Don't know how people can ignore stuff like that.
Guess I shouldn't tell you we had a beautiful day today with sun and 10 out. So after jazzercise and I went and fed DS's cat DH took us out to see his new office. He did actually say today he does like the new job and feels bad about how much he complained prior to it. We took Shilo for a walk along the dyke while we were there so her nose got a workout but she seemed to enjoy herself.
I did talk to the vet today as they got the bloodwork back. She was a pretty sick little girl. They figure it may have started off as kennel cough but the infection got bad enough she got Bacterial pnemonia as well and also shows possible parasites. So they have extended the one medication for another 14 days (was originally for just 8) and added a second for 7 days. As well she has a special dewormer that she takes for 5 days and then in 3 weeks does another 5 days. They figure this should get rid of anything she has. Hopefully then she will be healthy. But she does seem much better. I have to sit in the bathroom with her 3 times a day with the hot shower running for 10 mins as a humidifier. She does not like that. I will be glad when she is completely healthy!! I hate to tell you what all this has cost me. But she is at least warming up a little to DH so that is nice.
Other than that just a couple errands and some cleaning.
Tomorrow is family day here but I don't get the holiday as it is a provincial holiday and we are federally regulated. :( But at least it should be a quiet day at work.
Loretta I did go post the picture tonight. Your comment reminded me I needed to . It is a cute picture but kind of dark as DD told me not to turn the light on. If you look close Shilo actually has her front paws on either side of my neck. She is kind of funny because when I hold her she quite often sits up on her back legs right against me. It's cute. I bet yesterday was a long day for you. Doesn't sound like fun for your sister to have to lay face down. Yuck. Hopefully this week is a bit easier for you at work.
Well I guess I had better head off to bed. The one thing I don't like when DH is off and I am not. He doesn't go to bed so then I find it hard to sleep. Tomorrow is back to reality with my 5 am shift.
Janet

I'm home safely but not exactly soundly. I had 2 falls while I was away. One was a slip in a pile of snow & I couldn't get up & in my attempts I've hurt my shoulders and my knees but more from over work than anything else. Two cars drove by me on the ground and then a young couple stopped & got me up. I haven't flown that fast before. A lady from the retreat had tried to help but she as more arthritic than I am.
We started walking down the road to the ATM in the rehab hospital, I slipped on a patch of ice & did a turtle in the middle of the road & to the rescue came the young couple again and they walked me into the hospital. I'm fine. Just a little bumped & bruised but it does say something about the human race when 2 vehicles would drive right by someone wearing a bright yellow coat & a cherry red hat. Disappointed in certain members of the human race is how I feel.
The retreat was excellent. The speaker was excellent. The food was alright & the company in the car was good.
Dyna - As you can tell we did go to TO onFri. It was a little blowy & there were a number of cars in the ditch but we didn't hit bad roads until we were on Younge (sp) St. and that was a horrendamoma!!!
I have yet to unpack & I still haven't found my roller thing & I have enough hair to roll off my sweater. The Lads were happy to see me.
I am a tired puppy so I will take my weary bones off to bed after I unpack & try to do better tomorrow.
Jean emoticon sort of

Hello! emoticon

Janet, you are a lonely girl. I worked until 1500 yesterday and then still had to do my grocery shopping and errands so didn't get a chance to post. I am cleaning the oven today but Henry did the racks, which are the hardest part, so can't complain. It really, really needed it! Also tidying things up and getting the guest room ready for Stevie's visit next weekend. Susan and Barry are coming down for an unexpected trip to Edmonton as she has a macular hole in one eye and they are going to repair it. They will probably be here most of the week as she will need to lie face down for three days following the procedure. That doesn't sound like much fun at all.

Janet, I think Shilo is starting to feel like she can trust that she is finally at "home". Great to hear she is feeling better. Congratulations on the weight loss ... you are doing terrific!! Good job! I will go see if you have posted the picture of you and Shilo to FB now.

Dyna, Jean, Pat and Robin ... hope you are having a nice Sunday.

Take Care,
Loretta

Quiet day here! Hope that means everyone is just busy. Hope you guys down east are stay cozy and warm and out of harms way. Not a bad day. Went to WW first thing and down 1.6 so pleased with that. Then I was out early as I promised DM to take her to Bellingham. So left at 9:30 and she was as slow as usual (or slower) so it was 5 before I got home. DD came later for a walk and then I watched the hockey game. Which Canucks won 5-1. Yeah!!!! That's about it
DD did get a good picture today of me holding Shilo so when she e-mails it I will post it.
Shilo is doing much better today and for the first time I saw her trying out all her toys and having a chew on all of them. It was cute as she just kept going from one to another.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Good night all.
Janet

Hello ladies! A much better day today. Work wasn't too bad. I took a couple bit longer breaks and that seemed to help. But as well this is the first time my neck has stayed not too bad between physio appts. As well didn't hurt as much at physio so getting there bit by bit. I got the ok from him to start trying to use 2 lb weights at jazzercise. He said that will be great for me. I figure if it starts to strengthen things it will help them stay in place. But of course a bit sore tonight after the treatment but that will settle down tomorrow.
Went to Bellingham tonight with my friend so that was nice. Actually we didn't stay overly long either. Partly because I am going back tomorrow with DM as she needs gas. I will go to the mall with her tomorrow so we didn't go there tonight. So didn't get much of anything tonight. I have jeans for DH to pick up at the mall tomorrow.
Shilo seems much better today. I hope it does get better. Just want it to get cleared up and know she is healthy.
Loretta hope you get some sleep tonight. That was definitely a long day especially when you have to work tomorrow on top of it. Yeah if work got too bad I can go back to the Dr and have him say I need to back off. But today was pretty good. We will see how next week goes. Back to full days but have Friday off.
Dyna looks like quite the snowstorm. A good day to hunker down at home. Hopefully Karen stays home if the roads are bad. Not worth taking any chances. Yes I will certainly be glad when the eye stuff is done. I appreciate the help my mom's neighbour gives us. But she does tend to harp on my mom about the fact she should learn to do it herself.
Robin hope you get your car sorted out. Those kind of problems are a pain. But lights are also a bit necessary. They said kennel cough is much like a cold/flu in a human. But I think it is a bit worse in a puppy. Plus coming from the background she did probably not as healthy as some when it comes to fighting it. But even today she does seem much better. Here's hoping.
Well off to put my feet up.
Janet

Good Evening! emoticon

I think my problem not to sleep now is that I am over tired and that's when my brain really kicks into high gear and will not quiet. What a loony toon! I didn't get home from my meeting last night until midnight so it was a very, very long day. Today was pretty much normal, but I have to work tomorrow so it will be a short weekend. Stevie is coming to stay with us for the long weekend (14-18); she is maid of honour at a weding on the 16th. I hope our weather is good for her to drive from Calgary by herself. Speaking of which ... what a snow storm! Dyna and Jean, you park those cars and hunker down till this passes.

Pat, I see that Florida is enjoying some nice warm temperatures. Is Sharon your loopy sister or have I gotten them mixed up?? How is our little Gracie girlie doing ... she is just as cute as a bug's ear, can't wait to meet her.

Jean, I hope not hearing from you today doesn't mean you headed off to Toronto??? The fish was caught in July and it is all vaccuum sealed so will have a long shelf life. Yeah! I guess I had better get back to searching for recipes we will try and use some more of it up. Henry has been smoking most of the salmon but it has been too cold to do that this winter. He will probably do some more in May when he gets back from Florida.

Dyna, yeah, a snow day!! Do your school boards make the schools make up a day for the lost instruction time? Some of the board in Alberta do that ... silly really when you see some parents pulling their kids out of school for two weeks to take a winter holiday. Saw your picture of the snow on FB ... nasty.

Robin, I don't think there is anything worse, more aggravating and expensive than an electrical problem with a vehicle. Good luck getting the darn thing fixed. We have been enjoying some very mild temperatures this week, how about you? What is up with that idiot from Lethbridge faking his abduction and being found in Calgary ... I'd say there is either a lot of explaining to do or he better look for new friends and a new place to live.

Janet, sorry to hear the return to work has been so uncomfortable for you. Will they back it off if it gets too bad? I have always found physio painful, but, unfortunately, it seems to work. Great news that the condo will have the "For Sale" sign on it next week ... all things crossed for a quick and smooth sale.

Well, better go see what's up on FB and then I should try to get some sleep; tomorrow's meeting I only have to observe so it won't be too strenuous but I will still have to be there by 0830 so an early morning.

Take Care,
Loretta

Hi girls,
We did have a snow day today - most of the city was closed down. I was happy to stay in as I'm not fond of driving in the snow. I threw some beef and veggies in the slowcooker and then split my time between reading, shovelling and housework. So I think it was a pretty nice day off. Don snowblowed twice and both times had a lot of snow to move. The lady next door hired someone to clear her driveway so he moved some snow in the middle of the court and Don and another guy with a snowblower cleared up his mess when he left. Then the kids came out and played on the snowhill all afternoon.
Karen and kids were supposed to come down tomorrow but we'll wait and see. There's no reason she needs to come down so I told her to stay put if she had any doubts at all.

Loretta - I'm a tiny bit envious of all your fish. Don's fishing season wasn't overly successful last summer so I'm buying fish. Sounds like your working your fingers to the bone. Thank heavens the end is near!!

Robin - goodness, that's frustrating about your car. Hope they finally found the problem and fixed it. Its awful when you can't trust your car. How's the new baby doing? Hopefully everyone is settling in ok.

Janet - I guess there's not much you can do about the eye drops - if she needs them and can't put them in herself then she needs someone to do it for her. You will be glad when it all ends though. Sorry to hear Shilo had a wee setback. I'm sure the vet will get her fixed up - it'll just take some time. Nice to have a snuggly dog.

Pat - sounds like your little girl is settling in well. Does she go into her crate when you aren't home? The play is coming up fast but sounds like you have everything under control (as usual). I've enjoyed your pictures of your cruise. It was interesting to see the fences and bars in the windows in Cartegena - in some pictures it look beautiful yet in others it was pretty poor looking. Good work on the loss.

Jean - hope you didn't attempt to go to Toronto today. Kind of a bummer that the weather was so bad. Nice day to stay in and stay warm. Glad to hear your eyes got a passing grade. You always sound so happy when you do the sharing cupboard - sounds like you had a few good days. I always considered staying the same as a positive :-)

Well, better get going - watching the London Knights tonight. Talk to you soon... DYNA

My post just disappeared into cyberspace Argggh! Try again.
Thnking of all of you today, can't believe how the posts accumulate when I think I'm almost keeping up.
Jean and Dyna, hope you are safe and warm today. Did you go to Toronto Jean, and did yhave a snow day, Dyna? Haven't heard from DS, whether they got to work and back all right.
It is sunny and -6 here today!
Janet, the routine with your DM's surgery sunds familiar, but I think we had better pre-op information, as we knew about the drops and the morning-after appointment. I put Sheila's drops in the first time or two, she managed by herself after that. She doesn't look in the mirror, just does it by feel. I know at least one of the drops stings which isn't fun.
I hope Shilo's cough clears up, is kennel cough a chronic thing?
I laughed about her chewing the coaster. We have toothmarks on our coffee table, and we don't have a puppy. Stan put some moulding around the table edge; it looks pretty good and hopefully will prevent further gnawing.
Hope the condo sale goes well.
Loretta, thank goodness you're getting more fish :-)
Lots of meetings, gearing up for the AGM I'm guessing. I'm also guessing they will notice your absence when you retire!!
Pat, are you still finding lthe play fun to do? Gracie looks like a lovely little girl, I'm sure you can forgive her indiscretions!
Jean, good for you for staying the same. As I said before, keep warm and safe in this storm.
Dyna, hoping you had a snow day. I didn't have to go to the colony school on Monday, the teacher got back. I knew she would want to be there Monday as it was the last day for one of the boys who turned 15 on Tuesday.

On Monday I did go to my lunch meeting and had the car at the dealership by 1:30. By closing time at 5:00 the technician hadn't found the trouble with the lights, but was pleased to charge me for his time. Yesterday we were in Brooks and the lights kept going on and off. Glad it's the right signal and not the left that doesn't work when they're off.
Well I will try to post this one; thinking of you all, especially in Ontario.
Hugs,
Robin

Hello ladies! No nap today so I am tired tonight. Had to take Shilo back to the vet today as her coughing was getting worse again. Poor girl. I did e-mail the people I got her from and they figure it is probably kennel cough which apparently can be a lot more serious in puppies. I just want to get it resolved and her better. Then after that DD came for a walk so that was the day shot. Tomorrow I have physio after work and glad of it as I am sore this week from the 6 hour days. Then i will try and take it easy this weekend before I have full days next week. Did go to jazzercise tonight as it helps me to loosen up but was tired so by the end I couldn't quit yawning.
Jean sounds like you had a very busy day today. Glad you enjoyed everything. Stay safe if you go away. Yes the eye drops are a pain. I sure do appreciate my mom's neighbour helping out. But I think she is getting tired of it as well. But then I don't think my mom shows as much appreciation for her doing it as I think she should. Sometimes she comes across as expecting it. My friend suggested I get the neighbour some flowers or something which would be nice.
Pat sounds like you were busy today as well. We will all be glad to see the weekend.
Loretta that is a very long day.Yes my mom's neighbour does a lot of them. I think so I am not driving back and forth all the time and I sure appreciate it. But she thinks my mom should be able to do them herself but the problem is without her glasses she can't see to do them. Have to see how much better this eye is for the next set of drops. Tim does seem to be ok with his new job. Hasn't said in so many words he likes it but also hasn't complained. But he also seems to come home in a much better mood. Our friend brought Tim the paperwork to sign today and got the keys tonight for the condo. So it will be listed on Monday. Here's hoping it sells quickly which would be so nice.
Well I had better go check on my cuddly friend and head off to bed.

Tis a wonderment whether we will be going to Toronto or not tomorrow for the retreat. If the weather has anything to say about it we won't be. My friend Tina said that the snow was coming down heavily from Toronto to about half way home and then just stopped.
Martie & Tom are supposed to go up north to their son's for the weekend so we shall see.
I had a marvelous day today although tiring. I was at the church for the Sharing Cupboard for the first time in a number of months and was welcomed back in such a nice way.
In the afternoon I was at the nursing home for the sing along and it went well without students from the university. There - I just gave myself a slap.
Following that I was at the church for evening prayer - I really enjoy that all by myself. Some people complain because they think there should be more people but I enjoy the solitude.
On my way home I bought the "People" magazine & sat down to read. When I woke about 2 hours later I had drool coming down from the corner of my mouth and I couldn't remember if I had had supper. The big thing was that I wasn't hungry. My brain wasn't looking at the clock and saying that I had to be hungry. I found it interesting.
Pat - You seem to be the go to person for FL. You'll have to make a date with yourself to have a little "you" time. I think your parents really rely on you but then, at least, you are lucky enough to have both your parents and you seem to have a good relationship with them. I would do anything to have my parents.
Loretta - It sounds as if you need to tie a knot in the end of the rope and hang on. You will be so glad when all this business is over. What is the final date?
Is some of the freezer fish old and ready to go to the old fish home? I would think the fresher the better but for me fish is good the fresher the batter!! Yuk! Yuk1!
Jan - What a pain with the eyedrops! I hope a neighbour can help out too but the good thing is that eye surgery has changed since my day. When I was first nursing patients having cataract surgery were in bed for up to two weeks with their head sandbagged to keep them from moving. Tells you how old I am doesn't it. Keep your chin up & a smile on your face and everyone will wonder what you know that they don't.
Dyna - I hope the family will stay put this weekend. No sense getting banged up. My friend told me that if you want the latest news on the weather to go to the MTO website.
With a little luck the board will declare a snow day & you'll get to stay home.
Robin - So how's your weather? There you sit quietly in the corner never even saying anything. Did you get to teach at the Colony school? I think it must be a good thing to keep your hand in even if it's not a lot. Since I'm no longer working Wednesdays at the clinic (Annie came back after her knee replacement) I don't get to see our lovely Mennonite girls. What a pleasure it was to work with them.
Off to bed in case we can go tomorrow. Must get my beauty sleep and all that.
Jean

We got home a little while ago from our potluck & music and setting up the Club house for tomorrow's Health Fair. We have to go to that for 8 a.m. as we are helping out then I have rehearsal from 2-4 p.m. and a meeting at 7:30 p.m. so another busy day ahead.

Today I just sat down at 2 p.m. and thought I'd read the newspaper but I called DM and she wanted me to come over and change DF's sim card in his cell phone & get it activated then wash and blow dry her hair so the paper didn't get read again.

I think it looks good for a break on Sunday ...

Looks like lots of snow on the East coast in both U.S. & Canada this weekend. We've been having warm weather but it is raining tonight.

Good Afternoon! emoticon

Just taking a minute from my hectic day to post as I will not likely feel like it when I get home after my Council meeting that doesn't start until 1900 ... may not be home before 2200! We have smog here the past two days quite bad ... even warnings. Not common for us at all but it is very hazy.

Janet, that's a lot of drops to administer!!! Will your mother's neighbour be able to handle the majority of the doses? That is very good of her to do that. So is Tim settled into his new job and liking it more than he thought he might? That would be a nice surprise. Have you listed the condo? A cuddly pup is always a lovely thing; makes you just feel good all over.

Well, time to get myself ready to leave ... Paula and I are going out for dinner before the meeting and we will need to be back by 1830 at the latest. And, of course, today I get a hole in my pantihose so will need to stop and pick up a pair ... I haven't had that happen for years!!!

Have a good night everyone!

Take Care,
Loretta

Hello ladies! Yesterday was a long day. Had to have DM at the hospital for just after 7. Then I came home and worked for 2 hours and took Shilo for a walk before I had to go back and pick her up. But they did not give her the after care instructions till she had the cataract surgery. So she had two eye drops to get every hour and a third to get every two hours. DM cannot see without her glasses so can't put them in herself. Her neighbour was out so I stayed for 2 hours to put them in. Then her neighbour did it from 2 till 8 so I could come home for a bit. I had physio at 7 pm so after that i went back up and did them for the 9, 10 & 11. But a pain because you have to wait 5 minutes between each drop and then start again 45 mins later. So was late when I got home. Now she gets them 4 times a day for 2 weeks, 3 times for a week, 2 times for a week and then once a day for a week. What a lot of drops. Then in March she gets the other eye done. Will certainly be glad to have these done.
Was very sore after physio yesterday as he was fairly rough. But it does work. Now if it would just stay that way. But he keeps telling me I do very well and am getting much better. But we keep each other laughing during it which is good.
Today DM had to be back to have her eye checked at 8:30 and we didn't know till yesterday she couldn't drive. So I had to make arrangements to work later. But they were way behind there so ended up calling her neighbour to see if she could pick her up and coming home to work,
I got my performance review at work today and got 100%. Have to see how this affects my bonus as this is the first year it is being based on individual performances. We get that on our next pay period.
Not much else. Took Shilo for walks on my breaks and went to jazzercise tonight. At least it loosens me up a bit as I definitely find the 6 hours harder. But the Dr did tell me no matter what it would hurt when I went back to work. So just have to see what happens and hope it settles down.
Made muffins and cut up veggies when I got home and that was about it. That was one of the things I had said was a goal at WW was to keep veggies prepared and I definitely eat more when I do.
Loretta that will be a long week for you. Hope Sunday is nothing but relaxing. I know in the end Shilo will be fine. I love that when I pick her up she cuddles right into me. It is just the picking her up that scares her. Poor thing!
Hey Jean at least you didn't gain. Even that is a big plus. Just keep working away and you will get it sorted out at some point. Enjoy your weekend.
Pat way to go on the loss! Won't take you long to be back where you were. Glad to hear Gracie is doing so well. Shilo is doing well with the potty training except for the fact that when I go out she goes downstairs and pees. But at least she isn't hurting anything there. She has taken to chewing the coaster on the coffee table. So we just keep taking it and putting it back and telling her no. But at least she has stopped chewing anything else and the coaster doesn't really matter that much.
Well off to bed for now.
Janet

Good Evening! emoticon

It has been a long two days at work and will not improve for the rest of the week. I have a meeting tomorrow night and Friday night and one all day Saturday. I am not coasting to retirement as some seem to be able to do. Not much to report really since all I have been doing is working and that isn't of any interest to anyone, not even me.

Jean, have a nice weekend ... what's going on in Toronto? Good job on staying the course ... it is way better than a gain!

Pat, the play is coming along nicely. Did you enjoy the one you went to see. Gracie sounds like a nice calm puppy. The housebreaking will come, you know that, she is still pretty new to your home and pretty little still.

Janet, sorry to hear the pain is back. You may need to back off again and take it even slower. Shilo is going to come around with your positive and calm manner with her ... she has been through a lot in a short time.

Well, I guess I shall go and get some beauty sleep. Henry will be up early as he and a whole crew of the fishing club are off on a day of ice fishing ... oh thank heavens, we are down to only having about 150 pounds of fish in the freezer!!

Good night!

Take Care,
Loretta

I stayed the same this week. I could be unhappy but I think I will take it and treasure it. I had planned to get a lot more done but thems the ways they go.
Tomorrow I go to my old job at the food cupboard at the church. I've made arrangements to work there once a month. I don't know what is going to happen at the clinic when the hospital takes over the volunteers. There may be a grand exodus.
The light is really poor here. There! That is better. I have the keyboard propped up on an empty pill bottle.
Anyway, as I was saying, I was a little disappointed that I didn't lose weight but we know who to blame for that - me!! I will have to be more diligent.
I hope everyone is well and remember that the fearless leader will be away over the weekend.

I lost 1.75 of the 3 lbs I gained on the cruise and I plan to lose the rest of it this week. This afternoon was rehearsal again and I knew my lines for Act 1. Tomorrow we run thru Act 2 & 3. The play is March 9 & 10. Tomorrow night we go to Lemon Bay Theatre to watch another live play. I forget what we are going to see.

Gracie is settling in nicely, she gets her kong in her crate when we are leaving her alone for a few hours. She sleeps in her crate in our bed at night. Potty training is a bit rough but she is very sociable and loves meeting people who come to see her.

Time for bed, just got home from bingo at 10 p.m.

I have an idea Jan. Ask Shilo how many candles should be on her cake & then you will know how old she is. I know. I'm silly.
I just realized that I go to Toronto on Friday & I have a meeting on Friday too so I might have to send regrets for the meeting.
I was at the chiropractor this morning and she wasn't pleased that I had been shovelling snow but I did enjoy it.
Loretta - Are we counting down? Soon you'll be one of us!!!!
Dyna - Do you suppose that they are just wanting to keep you at Lord Nelson so the word goes out to not hire you for elsewhere.
Robin - Has Brooklyn told you about her baby sister yet? I hope she loves her a lot and doesn't feel as if she is old news.
Pat - Applause, applause! I'm sure you are wonderful in the part.
Guess what I am doing. I'm getting ready for a meeting so you kids will have to get along without me tonight.

Hello ladies! I am tired tonight and headed off to bed in a minute. Actually I am tired most nights. I find that the hardest to deal with is how tired I still get all the time. Not used to feeling like I have no energy.
Not much new today. Working 6 hours this week so it was a long day. When I took my breaks I took Shilo for walks around the block so that was good for both of us. After work I had a chiro appt and Shilo chewed the cord from my iron. But DH fixed it tonight so it is fine. She was much better today and quite fun and playful (except for the iron).
I did talk to the vet today and he said there is no way she is 9 or 10 months old. He said there are only two times you can very acurately judge a dogs age. One is 3 weeks when their puppy teeth come in and the other is 5 1/2 to 6 months when they get replaced by the adult teeth. That we were lucky to catch her at that point or otherwise it is really just a best guess. So best guess is she is 6 months now. He laughed at how they worded the papers from Taiwan and refered to her as 1 head as if she was cattle. But he was happy she had been given all the shots a puppy should have so we are good to go. I did get the stuff to put in the kong today and she does quite like that.
Other than that went to jazzercise and then met DD at Wal Mart and that was about it.
Tomorrow I am off early as DM needs to be at the hospital just after 7 for her cataract surgery. Then I will come home and only working 2 hours and will be finished to go back and get her.
Loretta hope you manage to get some sleep. I am glad to know Shilo doesn't want me to go out but have too at times. Oh we will be fine eventually. The vet said it would take her about 2 months to get over the trauma of the trip and coming here. After a meeting like that you will be glad to cross that one off your list.
Jean glad your eyes are where they belong. Good place for them. It wasn't a firm but a couple recommended by our friend the real estate agent. Hopefully it will just sell the way it is. I am not going to worry about it. Glad you got re-elected and will be staying out of the pool hall for now.
Dyna like you said you must have needed the sleep. The best protection against all theose bugs going around. Good luck with your decluttering. I am good at that part and don't keep much I don't use. it is good to see when Shilo is a lot more like a playful little puppy as she is still a fairly quiet one. So I enjoy it when I see it. I think once she gets past the hesitancy and relaxes she will be so much fun.
Well I am actually heading off to bed and looking forward to it.
Janet

Good Evening!! emoticon

Well, I had my last Resolutions Committee meeting today and it was brutal ... from 0900 to 1600 with only a half hour for lunch ... yuck! But, it is my last so there you go! Not much exciting to report, really, other than I can't sleep again so here I am at this unGodly hour posting.

Jean, Henry has done the new improved drainage system and it appears to be working. We are still in melt mode and it expects to do it all week. Congrats on the reelection ... those folks know a good deal when they see one!

Dyna, I hear ya sister ... wouldn't I just love to be young again when all I had to do to lose five pounds was stop eating breakfast for a week!!

Robin, glad to hear Nicole and Kendra are home and getting settled in.

Pat, you are back to being the whirling dirvish ... when is the play, ol' vilianous villan?

Janet, a condo in White Rock must be worth quite a bit; hopefully it will sell quickly. Too bad about the cleaning ... I have the same problem; no one does it properly for my standards. I do think Shilo is sending you a message ... did you get it???

Gotta try and get some sleep ...

Take Care,
Loretta

My eyes are in the right place and my cataract is still just beginning so all is well in that department. I got up late so must have had a good sleep but still kind of sluggish. Had a nap this afternoon with the Lads. My friend is going to take care of the boys when I am at the retreat & she will come to get my fob tomorrow as the one she has doesn't work.
Janet could you call the firm who did the cleanup and ask about some of the stuff? If they said they would wash the walls they should have done it. Mind you, you have very high standards so that could be part of the problem. That's one of the reasons I don't have a cleaning lady. I end up following them around and getting into the corners & I'm not miss supercleaner.
Dyna - It does seem like the weather is making me feel draggy. Good for Samantha that she only cried one time. She is getting better.
I don't know how many people have died of the flu in London but, if I'm not mistaken it's around 17 & people, especially the elderly, don't want to get the flu shot. The virus in it is dead so you can't get the flu from it and it protects one from it or at least lessens the severity.
Sounds like the course is a good idea. I'm so stunned when it comes to computers.
Loretta - I'll bet your trip seems to be a long way away. Just a few weeks and you'll be up in the air again.
Did Henry get the downspout straightened away? I hope so. How's the weather now?
Robin - So is the wee bairn a keeper? A new almost granddaughter for you & someone else you can pull around in the wagon.
Seems a long time since you've been to the colony school. They'll be glad to see you.
I was elected again to the Council at the Vestry meeting. Keeps me out of the pool hall & off the streets.
Pat - My DSis says they've been running their furnace every morning just to take the chill off.
Hope Gracie isn't wanting to go out and buy a bikini.
Jean emoticon

Hi girls,
just a quick hello before I head home. I had a really quiet weekend. Slept most of Saturday - I guess I needed it. The weather was still crappy so Karen called and said not to come down. Samantha called me after her swim lesson to tell me that she did pretty good and only cried once because she was scared. We are picking them up Tuesday night so can't wait to see them.
Yesterday after coffee with my DPs I was able to get through another box of clutter. I'm trying to be strong and toss out the stuff I've been saving for years. Now if only I had more time cuz decluttering takes a long time - at least in my house it does.
Lots of staff are sick at school today - we've had a couple girls with strep throat and one has a lung infection and pinkeye. So lots going around. I want to continue to get lots of sleep so I don't catch any bugs.
I signed up for a workshop on Microsoft word - the board is not going to support word perfect after this year so I thought I'd better get off my butt and learn word. So the nice thing is that the workshop is both Monday and Thursday afternoon. It'll be nice to have a break.

Robin - glad the baby wait is over. Kendra will have her hands full, like all new moms but she's lucky to have you so close by. Sounds like Brooklyn is very agreeable no matter where she is.

Loretta - welcome back to Canada - sounds like you had a great trip and even better course. Nice when that happens. We had the melting a couple weeks ago but now we are in the deep freeze. Looks like snow every day this week and then a little sleet this weekend - yuck!
I know what you mean about the weight. I feel that way too - I get sick of worrying about my weight and thinking about food all the time. There must be something I'm doing wrong - why is it so easy for some and so difficult for others?

Janet - sounds like your little girl is getting back to normal puppy-dom. She wouldn't be a puppy is she didn't piddle on the floor once in awhile and chew things up. One of our dogs loved leather shoes. That's too bad about the cleaners - would have been nice for them to have done a top notch job. Oh well, it is what it is. Is it up for sale now?

Jean - sorry you weren't feeling better - maybe it was the chicken pie hockey puck - LOL. I laugh because that's what we are having for dinner tonight. That's our London for you - don't plow the streets until everyone is asleep. Easier for them I guess. Isn't it interesting that all our city counsellors are getting Queen Jubilee awards?

Time to clean up and go home ... Hugs, DYNA

Hello ladies! A bit of a frustrating day today. Really busy just doing a pile of things. Went for breakfast with my friend after jazzercise. Then she wanted to see the condo as she had said they might be interested in buying it. So took her to White Rock to see it and then she said her husband really wasn't interested. So know she just wanted something to do. But I opened the windows a bit while I was there to let the place air out and dry from them cleaning the carpets. I have to admit for what we paid I am not totally impressed with the job they did. Things like the storage room floor wasn't washed and I don't think they washed the walls in the suite. It does look much better than it was but for what we paid not up to my standards. The bathroom looks much better but still water spots on the mirror and taps which I would expect you would polish when done. Oh well not much I can do about it. The carpet is much cleaner but where DN obviously sprayed pop on it didn't come out. It is lighter but not gone.
But then I had to go back to White Rock later to close everything up again. But it did work and the carpets were dry and everything smells good.
Anyway stopped at the store to say hi to the girl working and she went on and on about the manager and the problems there. Apparently she has complained to the district manager about her. So I am sure glad I left when I did. But ended up being there a lot longer than I planned on.
Had to stop and get a couple more cords for fixing things in my office so it was late by the time I made it back home and exhausted at that point.
Plus when i got home this morning then DH wanted to go get more things he needs for his office. So seems like I just spent all day running around and getting nothing acomplished.
Plus I think because of that Shilo has been a little pest today. She peed twice and pooped once in the house and DH caught her chewing things about three times. Plus she wouldn't come to me at all today. Think she might be mad at me for being out most of the day?
Oh well tomorrow is a new day.
Jean that would sure be a pain for them to start plowing at that time. Somebody not thinking too well. Hope you sleep well tonight. I am still working on trying to get Shilo to play with toys. So far she hasn't touched anything I try. The only time she is really playful is when I take her for a walk. But I just keep trying.
Pat saw the pictures of Gracie. She is so cute. I am still waiting for the vet to call tomorrow and see if he thinks it is possible she might be the as old as the 9 or 10 months Taiwan says she is. But I don't think she looks that old. But they have said when they get them off the streets they are just estimating the age as best they can.
Loretta 2 lbs isn't too bad after a week in San Fran. Unfortunately back to the battle eh! Yeah I just laugh at the odd thing that comes up about DN now. But can't be bothered with it. I half expect we will never hear from her again.Oh well!!
I am certainly enjoying having my tv back on my computer. Now I can catch up on my recorded tv.
Well guess I should head off to bed. We will see what tomorrow brings.
Janet

Quiet here tonight. Brooklyn has gone to stay with her grandparents at least until tomorrow. She had a good night and was up by shortly after 6:00, and was cheerful thijs morning. We met Grandma G at Jenner on our way to church and did the hand-over. Kendra and Nicole got home today. They called us to come over just as the game was starting, so both Stan and I got to hold and rock the baby. She is the same weight Brooklyn was at birth, but seems smaller- guess we forget. She has a lot of black hair and so far doesn't resemble Brooklyn at that age. It should be fun watching them grow up. We came home at half-time, and didn't put the TV on until after supper, so missed the blackout!

I have a lunch appointment tomorrow with the coordinator for the Classroom Agriculture program, and later one to finally get the car in to find the problem with the lights. Tonight when we came home from Willie and Kendra's the lights worked perfectly, tomorrow they'll probably be out again. However, when we got home there was a message asking if I can be on call to sub at the Colony school tomorrow; the teacher is somewhere in BC and had her flight cancelled. I'll know soon enough in the morning to cancel my appointments if I have to.
I must have done something Thursday to aggrivate an old hip injury as I've been limping around since. i think I will opt out of the exercises tomorrow if I'm at school.

Have a restful night all of you, and a good week!
Talk to you soon; hugs all around.
Robin

They decided to plow the parking lot behind my building at 11:45 p.m. so, since I had to curse them I couldn't get to sleep & then was wakened at who knows what time with regurgitation so I wasn't the brightest of bunnies at church. Then we had our vestry meeting but before that I got in a 30 minute nap.
After I got home I had a four hour nap and now I'm just waiting for "Rizzoli & Isles" to come on. Tomorrow I go to my optometrist to see if I have 2 eyes, Tuesday to my chiropractor and then on the weekend to my retreat.
Olga has returned to her retirement home but is having trouble with her stumps so will be going to see the orthopod who repaired her hip to see what he thinks.
I had a bowl of my turkey chili I made and I put too much chili powder in it or something and it is too hot for me but I am a wuss. I think I will see if anyone has any ideas for taking the heat out. I think my previous chili was so old that it had lost a lot of its heat.
I think it would be something to see Shilo & Gracie together. I'll bet they would play nicely together. I will have to go to Facebook and have a look.
That's about all the stuff I know for tonight. I'll have to see if I can't figure out some fun and games for tomorrow.
Jean

We are watching the Superbowl along with every good American in the Park. We probably could go out & play on the Interstate & no onje would notice. This is the second biggest day in the U.S. second only to Thanksgiving - way ahead of Cmas & new Years!

Gracie has been asleep since the game came on. New pics of her on FB.

Jan I saw your baby there too. Looks like a sweetie. Gracie won't be up for walking for a while yet.

Yesterday the Grandmothers club ran the Sat morning coffee, Jim made the coffee & picked up the donuts and I was the emcee. People told me I did an excellent job with the mic & they could understand every word I said. Unlike some other accents I guess Canucks enunciate. Funny! I never have trouble hearing the different emcees but people with hearing loss seem to. at least i won one of the door prizes and got a $25 gift certficate for Olive Gardens.

Then we had the GM club Poker Run which was fun and Jim & I ran bingo after the run while others ran other casino type games and we ate lunch. I also got lots of pics for the newspaper since I am the official photographer.

Today was church, brunch, Walmart, pick up Canadian pizes from a New Brunswick couple, drop off a poster I had made of Jim & his lottery winnings last year, a meeting to plan the Canadian party, a swim & hot tub with my sister and now I have to print some things off for my GM Club Board of Directors meeting tomorrow.

I am hoping to have time to work on my lines for the play tomorrow afternoon before we go to dinner to celebrate our friend Bruce's BD.

Hello! emoticon

Back from brunch with our friends (it was very nice) and am into doing my usual Sunday drill of laundry and preparing my lunches and breakfasts for the upcoming work week. I gained two pounds while away and am actually pretty happy it was only that much. Henry is out clearing the ice from our drive way and patio. It is very warm here and everything is melting. He needs to go get some down spout materials to redo our drainage as everything is melting off the roof and then pooling on the new patio ... very treacherous ... so he needs to redirect things.

Robin, Nicole is a very nice name. How much did she weigh? Has Brooklyn seen her yet? Sounds like you have a fan for your piano playing ... that's really cute. Poor Meg ... I'm sure the garage is warm and comfortable for her and it sounds like she would just as soon be by herself.

Jean, maybe you ate something too rich and your body is letting you know. When do Maggie's parents come home from skiiing? As you can see, I'm keeping you company in the weight gaining department ... sometimes I just don't feel like bothering anymore. Seems I have spent the last 20 years doing nothing but worrying about my weight, trying to lose weight, thinking about what I eat and I get fed up with it all.

Janet, congratulations on your loss!! Good for you. Glad to hear the condo prep for listing is progressing nicely; now just to get it sold. I think it is time to put your nieces antics behind you and move along ... she isn't worth the energy fretting about it anymore. Shilo is doing well and sounds like you have a new pal ... wonderful!

Well, time to go check on my roast in the slow cooker. Our satellite is out since our return so Henry needs to call and see if he can get it straightened around before the SuperBowl starts, if not, we (he) maybe going to Brian's to watch the game.

Take Care,
Loretta

Hello ladies! I just realized what time it is. But I have been very productive tonight. I have rearranged my home computer back to where I want it now so happy about that. Plus I haven't had my TV on here because the cord was too short as I had flipped sides. But now back where it was and I can get my tv back again. This was the one I watched the most. My work desk is all ready now for me to set everything up there tomorrow. Will be nice to have everything organized.
Other than that today was just the normal. WW in the morning and down 1.6 so lower now than I was before Christmas so glad to be back there and getting close to where I was before. My goal is to be at my goal weight for my birthday in April. Then it was a bit of laundry and cleaning and then off shopping with DM. We had a beautiful day (sorry to say) so took Shilo for a walk when I got home. She is pretty good on the leash but bounces all over the place. It is cute to watch. But she never goes far enough away to pull at all and doing well now to stay on the right side of me. But she seems to enjoy her walks. DD said you can sure tell she likes me as she gets so excited when I come home from somewhere. Plus so far I am the only one she cuddles with. Gonna be my baby!!
Tonight DD came over and I got another walk in and then started moving things and sorting plugs and cords out and of course the time got away from me. Oh well I can nap tomorrow if I don't sleep in at all.
The people came over after they finished and said the suite looks great and commented on how dirty is was. Guess cleaning wasn't DN's strong point. I will go over tomorrow and open windows for a little to let the carpet dry and air out a bit as they said it was a bit steamy from the carpets being steam cleaned which was the last thing they did. But they sure looked tired when they stopped here. I will go visit the store for a bit and then go back and close the place up before I come home. It is ready for our friend to list then. Hope we are lucky and it sells quickly which would be so nice. But we got a laugh because the last picture DMIL got of my two kids was left amongst the garbage with the frame broken. DN is so mature! But I see she toook the pictures of them when they were little.
Jean did you end up shovelling snow? I wish I could go back to sleep when I wake up. Which this morning was 4 am. Thank goodness I can nap which is my lifesaver. Yes DH is tall at 6' 3" and yes a 36" inseam is fairly long. He is all arms and legs. You can get them just hard to find. Some stores only carry to a 34" inseam which is much more common. DD has the long legs and wears a 36" inseam as well. But she didn't get the long arms with it so tops are ok. I do know to take it easy if I get sore and am listening well to what I am told. Even if I don't like it. But as I have said I am far to active to want ongoing issues so being careful to give things the time to heal now so I don't. Everybody says I am doing the right thing and it will just take time. I just didn't expect it to be so long. But my Dr said if I hadn't been in such good shape already I would have been 6 months healing with the damage that was done. On a very nice note DD was at the Dr the other day and he commented to her on what a good job I was doing in keeping the weight off as he has seen me go up and down before and how proud he was of me for losing it. Nice to hear he said that. But he did say something to me last time I was in.
Robin I am sure Kendra is sure glad the baby made her appearance. Do they stay in for long there? Here now if it is the first you stay for 24 hours but if a second or more they send you home after a few hours. Unless any reason for them to keep you longer. Do you still have Brooklyn? I bet you have so much fun with her. I love kids at that age and got a good giggle at her antics.
Well guess I should go find my bed and hope it enjoys me being there.
Have a wonderful Sunday all!
Janet

I don't know whether I will shovel today or not. My back isn't too happy but I do enjoy being out and doing something.
Maggie got me up at 5:13 to let her out but I went back to sleep immediately although I did wonder if I would be able to - silly sausage that I am.
I had planned to come home to feed the Lads, get a scarf & mitts & go back to Maggie's house but I think I had better hang here for a while as I seem to have the scoots for some reason. I have the bottle of Bismuth sitting on the desk so will drink more of it.
I really did enjoy "Kim's Convenience" It was fun and the actors were excellent. My friend Tina & I got season's subscriptions to the theatre.
Congratulations to Brooklyn for being a big sister. I'm sure she will be really good with a little sister (with a little encouragement). Lovely too that she enjoys your piano playing Robin.
Dyna - I'm glad Karen wasn't involved in the 70 car pile up. Does she always take the 401? I really don't like driving on it not that it's a bad road but the truckers have such tight schedules that they just blast through. I think Rob & Laura will be coming down through L istowel & Mitchell.
Loretta, I am sure you don't really like going back to snowy Edmonton but you have just 4 weeks and you will be in sunny FL. Sounds as if this was a worthwhile trip and you got some sun.
Pat - When is the next play? Will Gracie have a bit part? If they need a good purrer Broad Butt Bert is the one. He is next to me just rumbling.
Jan - Pardon me for being dense but is DH tall & is an inseam of 36 inches unusual? I've never had to deal with inseams so I don't know. It will be good to have the condo gone and then you folks can get on with living. Sorry to hear that you have been super sore but listen to your body. I never do but you should.
Guess I should get back to Maggie Muggins - does anyone remember those books?
I forgot to tell you about the "cat behaviourist I saw on TV last night - tattoos all over, rocker, drives an elderly Cadillac convertible - pink in colour & is just amazing with cats. He "listens" to them & he says most cat problems are the humans.
I also forgot that I have now invented the chicken pot pie hockey puck! I put one of my lovely homemade pies in the microwave and put it on for the usual time - guess their microwave is more powerful than mine - hockey puck!!!

Nicole Ashley finally made her way into the world at 10:00 pm yesterday. A long hard day for Kendra. Willie was here to feed this morning, don't know whether he came back late last night or early this morning.
Brooklyn had a good night and is very cheerful this morning, chowing down on cheese and berries, ignoring the toast. She's pretending to sneezeand laughing uproariously- two-year-old's idea of a joke!
I got a "Encore" from her this morning. Her favorite toy here is a reindeer that plays Deck the Halls. When I played it for her on the piano she clapped and said Again! I'll take that any time lol.
Talk to you later!

Hello ladies! Well wasn't the best day today. After being not too bad the last few days (a little sore from work) I woke up very sore again today. Plus my left shoulder has swollen up again a bit. So took lots of breaks today. I had both chiro and physio today so hopefully a bit better tomorrow. Should be after the toture I endured at physio. I wasn't very happy about the swelling again. The chiropracter said it was cumulative stress. Grrr! Guess my body just letting me know not healed yet.
Went down to Bellingham after physio so enjoyed the break out by myself. Got the filing cabinet I need for my work stuff. I need to have a locking one. Order 2 new pair of jeans for DH. He has a 36" inseam so hard to find them at times. Other than that got some blueberries at Costco and a few little things.
Had a bath when I got home so will hopefully sleep good tonight and hopfully feel better tomorrow.
Loretta I bet you won't be glad to get home to the Alberta weather. But reminding yourself it is just a month will help. Guess I shouldn't say it has been fairly mild here the last couple of days. We are suppose to get a nice weekend with sun and 8-10. So I have got lots of walking in with Shilo. She is pretty good on a leash and quite playful. We are so glad the condo will be up for sale and yes will be glad to have it gone. No good memories left after all that has happened. It is a shame.
Robin hope Kendra has had the baby by now and all is well. We will be waiting to hear. Enjoy Brooklyn. Do they have a name picked out for the new babay?
Dyna hope your weather settles down. It is awful worrying about your kids out in it. Shilo is much better. She still coughs a little when she gets too rambunctious but nothing like it was. She is getting much more playful.
Jean glad you enjoyed your play. I love watching dogs play in the snow. Daisy used to love it when we got some. She would hide her ball in it and then look like she was looking for it. But DH said the funny thing was if you called her she knew just where it was and would pick it up and come.
Pat looks like you are really enjoying your new girl. We got the papers today from the animal hospital in Taiwan and now we have no idea. Because they said she was 8 months old on Dec 22 which would make her 9 or 10 now. But the vet here figured around 5 1/2. I will take them in a copy of the papers and ask what they think. She was only 11 lbs at that point and now probably around 16. So if she is that old may not get much bigger. Not that it matters at all as I love her as she is.
Anyway for now I am off to bed and hoping I get a good sleep tonight.
Janet

Hello Everyone!! emoticon

We are all packed up and waiting to go to the airport for our return flight home this evening. There is a beautiful sitting room in our hotel with fireplace so we are very comfortable. Have about two more hours to wait. My course was excllent with a really great instructor who was patient and entertaining ... I learned a lot and came away with my project pretty much planned out! The weather here has been tremendous ... +16-19 for the past two days with sunshine we spent a few hours in the sunshine on Union Square yesterday and were down to the wharf this morning. I did some shopping and am very excited as I bought a new fragrance which I love and is exclusive to Barney's so won't be running into it in Edmonton likely.

Jean, you will start tracking and get back in the swing of things. It is too hard to be on plan when you aren't feeling well. Enjoy Ms Mags.

Pat, what exciting news ... Gracie is truly a cutie pie. Maybe I will be able to get over to meet her in March. We will have to drive my sister and brother-in-law to Tampa on the 27th so maybe we can swing by for coffee ... I will need to confirm the date.

Dyna, darn, sorry to here you missed out on the new school. Better luck next time. Sounds like horrible weather in the Toronto area ... hope Karen gets home safely and everyone hunkers down until it passes.

Robin, well???? Hope the baby has made her grande entrance now. Sounds like things are settling down for you ... I get that wound up mind and can't sleep sometimes too. Just hate it but have never figured out how to stop it.

Janet, great news that the condo will be listed this weekend, let's hope it sells quickly and you can put all of the bad memories and unpleasantness behind you.

Well, I think we are going to get a bite to eat here before we go out to the airport so should do that. Not looking forward to returning to the Northern winter ... but it will be just for four weeks and then we will be off to Sebring for a month so I really shouldn't complain.

Just a short note while Brooklyn is sleeping so I get on this page . Kendra called at 5:50 this morning to say she was getting Willie up so they could go as it was time. By the time I jumped into my clothes and got up there the truck was running. Brooklyn was still asleep, when she woke up she didn't cry or ask for Mummy. I told her Mummy and Daddy went to town to get her baby sister; don't know how much she understands, but she seemed satisfied with that. Willie has phoned a couple of times, the hospital checked Kendra out, made a note of her vitals etc, said her membranes had ruptured, and sent them away to wait. They went to Willie's DB' to wait. It's been three hours since he phoned last, so guessing no news yet.
I'll keep you posted!
Our friend Minor whose wife looks after 99 year old Mr Campbell and does 5 24-hour shifts in a row, phoned to ask if he could come over to see his calves. Guessing Jeanette is at work and he's lonely. He is a nice man.
Talk to you soon!
Robin

Hi girls,
Thank goodness its Friday but its a cold and blustery day here. When I was out at lunch I heard that the 401 was closed because of whiteouts and a traffic pile-up. I called Don to see if he'd heard from Karen as it was close to the time she was going through. She had texted him saying that it happened shortly before she got there but she managed to get through and was late for work but she was safe. So now we just have to worry about her getting home safely at 9 pm tonight. Tomorrow we were planning to go see Samantha swim but we'll have to wait and see what the weather brings. Supposed to be crappy again tomorrow so I may have an inside snow day. Not that I'm complaining about that.

Jean - I've heard a few people say that Kim's Convenience was really good - glad you had the chance to go see it and enjoy it. Don't do too much shovelling - don't want you to hurt anything!!!!

Pat - glad to hear you are enjoying your new little girl. Does sound like she's settling in just fine - she'll be easy to take along when you go out as she's so tiny (and cute). Who could resist that face.

Robin - I sometimes stuggle with Don being at home too. He's tending to get a little obsessive about things. If I leave something on the counter in the kitchen he'll move it. I finally asked him why he kept moving my stuff. Geez - we had a "discussion" about it and I think I finally got him to see what he's being over obsessive - LOL. He's been better the last few days. He really needs to get out and socialize more. I'm working on that too.
Wow, I really got on my soapbox there didn't I???

Janet - nice to hear you are moving ahead with the condo. Won't that be nice to have out of the way. How's your precious baby today? Hope she's feeling better.

Well, I'd better get back to work - talk to you later...DYNA

Went to see "Kim's Convenience" last night with friend tina & it was so much fun. If it happens to show up anywhere nearby it is worth the price of admission. It apparently was a winner at the Toronto Fringe Festival and the author plays a smaller part in it.
I am dog sitting Miss Maggie & she let me come out this morning but she also let me sleep in, one thing the cats don't do.
At least I will get some exercise when I go back to M's house. I have decided that it might be a good idea to shovel the drive. It is short & there isn't a lot of snow on it but now is the time to do it before it gets too deep. I don't think we could lose gracie in it but it might be just a little more than shilo would like.
Maggie is too funny. She loves to go out in the snow & she ends up with snow nose. She then comes to the door and as soon as I get to the door she runs. I love her and she knows it.
I do believe that i need to get a move on & I don't know anything else. I will stop in at the local grocery store & get some go to foods so Maggie and I don't starve.Rob & family have great weather for skiing even if Rob can't because of a health problem he is dealing with (huge umbilical hernia - surgeon said no skiing)
