SparkDoodle....make sure you are getting enough protein during breakfast and lunch, along with a good carb and a fruit/veg. Have a protein rich snack mid-morning as well as plan for one in the afternoon, again adding a good carb and fruit/veg. This can help you curb those afternoon cravings. And get your water in! Good luck!

Thanks for the support. I am re-reading Potaoes not Prozac, trying to eat sensible, healthy yet tasty meals....my downfall happens mid-to late afternoon. I am trying to plan on this time and carry some pistashios or a piece of fruit. Even sugarless gum helps somewhat but I am only slightly successful. I guess I need to focus on the "good" stuff I am doing and stop being so harsh on myself. I am scared. Scared that if I don't make some major progress soon my health will spiral out of control. I hope to make checking in with all of you part of my routine for a better me.... Thanks again!!! emoticon

Welcome back to Spark! Congratulations on beating cancer. I'm not sure how to really sponsor someone on Spark. I think we all find our own paths in life, but maybe you can find a workout partner or a walking partner here or on one of the other local teams.

good luck!!

I saw that same report and it made me worry as well. It certainly makes one think.

As for you, you have made some amazing progress so far! Do not get discouraged! Remember that the number on the scale cannot be your sole marker for success. Take your measurements and use these numbers to guide you as well. You have to remember that it took time to create the body you are now trying to re-create. Being patient is so not easy I know.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

I have procrastinated way too long to do what I can to lose weight. I am a Breast Cancer survivor so I spent most of the past year doing whatever it took to get through all the treatments. Now I need a "SPONSOR" much like they do at AA and NA meetings.....any one out there willing to take me on. It's not that I don't know what I need to do, it's the doing that is out of control. Ch 22 just had a story on the Nightly News about the correlation of obesity and breat cancer recurrance......uugggghhhhhhh I need to get a handle on my sweet tooth. and my health......
