I have never heard of it before either. I get constipation, bloating and cramping off and on usually follow by either normal or diarrhea when my IBS acts up. I have been eating oatmeal in the morning for years to help with it and it usually really helps. For probably almost a yr I have been adding eating 5 prunes in the morning as added help for it. And some times if it is still bothering me later I might eat another 5 prunes. I have been doing really well with that. But recently I have started to eat a lot more huge salads at lunch, or salads both at lunch and dinner, along with other fruits and veggies, and with drinking V 8 juice some times too, and I think I have O.D. on the good stuff, lol. Now I am having the runs a lot every day and some times several times a day. So I didn't do a salad, no prunes, no V 8, or other veggies today. I did oatmeal in the morning and again for lunch. I had and apple and some trail mix with little fruit pieces for lunch and snack. My stomach didn't really want to eat today, after not feeling very well the last two days, and it feels like IBS, not the flu. So I didn't really want dinner tonight. I had some natural peanut butter and honey for my dinner. I know that isn't a lot to eat, and believe me I usually eat a lot more food, but just wasn't feeling it today. I hope that tomorrow, I will feel more like eating and that the runs will be gone. I have ate or drink yogurt before for it too, or bananas, or toast, or rice. I have even taken probiotics and acidolphilus before too. I was out of bananas, bread, minute rice, yogurt, acidolphilus, and probiotics, or such the last few days and didn't want to try to run to the store for any of it. I also don't keep Idmodium, or pepto bismal, or any of that on hand either, like most of my family does. I usually do the oatmeal, bananas, bread, minute rice, yogurt, acidolphilus and probiotics if I need some thing for it. But if some one tries it I would be interested in knowing more about it and possible side effects from taking it. I don't want to trade one problem for another, lol. Metamucil, idmodium, pepto bismal, stool softeners I was told could all make your body use to taking them and then could put you in a vicious cycle of taking one thing to go and then turning around and needing some thing else to stop. That is what it seemed my family was constantly going through. So I tried to do it naturally with food and it usually does work itself out. Janette
