I am glad that I'm not the only one. I really am not sure what I will do if I don't get my transfer out of the building. I'm only 30...so retiring isn't an option. And with layoffs everywhere, I can't afford to leave and try to find a job. So I'm kind of stuck. I pray about it daily. I also do the positive thinking, "It will be a good day." Sometimes it doesn't matter when another person is out to get you and has no respect. Problem is my union sucks. I've gone to them about things and they aren't much help. I have been doing Zumba classes as well and love them. Sometimes it's hard to be motivated at the end of the day when you are emotionally and physically exhausted. But I try. It's also easy to just order out when I'm done at the end of the day. Ugh. So it's been rough in many aspects. It's just affecting too many parts of my life! Thanks for your advice.

2 years ago I considered taking a medical leave. My principal was just horrible and made the year miserable for many of us. 2 of my colleagues left in the middle of the day and retired. At the end of the year 11 of us went to the union and filed complaints. My health suffered greatly and I gained a lot of weight. My IBS was out of control that year! I needed to leave or I would have gone insane!
My best advice is to get your union involved, keep really good documentation of how you are being treated, find an outlet for your frustration (I started Zumba that year), and don't let someone else define your value. Lastly, if you can transfer for next year, do it! It is not worth trying to do a job that someone won't allow you to.
If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

I m a retired speech therapist who worked for the public schools. I know how terrible it is to have a principal who is a royal pain. Luckily for me, she retired and was followed by a wonderful man who made coming to school a treat! Is there any way you can transfer? If not I will keep good thoughts for you and hope that things improve for you. Try taking some relaxing deep breaths when you get tense. It sounds silly but sometimes I can even stop an IBS attack by doing this!
prayer helps. but also adjust your diet, eat bland for a few days. try to stay away from soda's and caffiene....easier said than done also. My job stresses me out alot also, everyone thinks a cake decorator is a fun job....well not always....some days there are 25 cake orders and you are alll by yourself...thats when it becomes just a job! :(
take care hun, I will pray for you. Sue

Has anyone had to leave their job because of the stress? This year has been awful and my IBS is at it's worst. I'm having another attack today because of an email from my principal wanting yet another meeting regarding my job. Ugh! I am being singled out this year, not sure why. Lord give me the strength. Not to mention I have developed migraines this year. I don't believe this is all coincidence. Suggestions? I know it's easier said than done, I need to find a way to not let the stress bother me. But this is my job, livlihood, etc.
