Thank you for replying, I will consider trying it. It is on sale occasionally at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada here. emoticon

Align is a pill - it's a probiotic - helps move the digestion and gives good bacteria to your system. It's the same as what you see in the commercials for Activia yogurt. Only if you read the package for the yogurt you have to eat 3 of them a day. The Align you buy over the counter - it's not cheap. About $1.00 a pill. If you go to BJ's a box of 63 is something like $56.00. Many times Walgreens, CVS or other drug stores will have them on sale. I also buy coupons on ebay. Sometimes 3 coupons for $1.00 and the price of a stamp. You just have to verify the date. You don't want to get 3 coupons having them expire in a week. The coupons are valued at $3.00 - $5.00 a piece.
Like I said though, I still get the "attacks" even when I take it. My Rx is really the only thing that works. Eating Tums after a meal helps me too. I used to drink Pepto but my doctor said back off, I was having too much.
Hope some of this info helps. It's lousy to feel this way. Mornings are always bad so I don't eat until late morning. Regardless of what they say about eating breakfast in the morning. "They" don't have our stomachs!!!
Good luck.
xo Beni

Is it pills or liquid? I am on nothing right now. Last week I had a terrible attack and barely made it home

I take it. I started taking it because I have a nephew who has chron's disease and it helps him a lot. MY IBS is a hit and miss. I will still get the "attacks" even on the days I take it. My doctor says it's a good idea to take it. I'm not sure if it helps or not. I actually am down to my last 4 and was thinking about not buying any more just to see how I do. (I don't get diarrhea from it)

I almost bought it once; but chose not to because I heard it can bring on diarrhea. My IBS varies from being constipated to diarrhea flareups, especially if I eat the wrong thing.
I do my best to avoid corn, gluten, lactose & wheat.
I do take acidophilus daily which does help. emoticon
