When I travel, I try not to overeat or go for fried foods. Those are major contributors to gas for me. Water and exercise is so important. Good luck. I hope you find what works for you!

Amanda,

I can't get the reply to your message function to work in SparkMail. I have had IBS for about 4 years. I will go for long stretches of time with no major problems. Diet and working out help. I have also been on a different medication for about a year now.

Glad I could help! Just another thought...when you add extra exercise in when you travel, is it the same type of exercise or something different? Maybe try to add yoga or tai chi type things.

I try not to change my eating too much. I know I don't drink near the water. I will try to add more water and see if that will help on my trip in October. Thanks Amanda

Do you change what you are eating? I try to pack as much of "my" food as I can to take with. If you can't take anything with maybe scout out where would be a good place to find what you need along the way and when you get there.
Do you change what you drink? I know when I'm away from home I tend to drink a lot less water. I don't drink pop or anything else, I just for some reason to drink my gallon...I just space it off. I have to be really conscious of that.

My IBS flares when I travel. I take the same medication and always increase my exercise while away from home. It can take up to 2 weeks after the trip to get my system happy again. Any Advise?
